Pebble recently announced a comeback after Google’s announcement of the PebbleOS going open source. We got a glimpse of this with the PebbleOS Core Time 2 and Core 2 Duo, which were prototypes of upcoming models. These showcased the overall look and ultra long battery life, but now, we finally have the first look at the Pebble Time 2 and its design and features.
The New Pebble Time 2: E-Paper + Metal + 30 Days
A couple of things helped the Pebble smartwatches stand out from the crowd. Two of the biggest features include the e-paper display and the long battery life. Both are making a return on the Pebble Time 2, which sports a 1.5-inch e-paper LED backlit display with support for up to 64 colors. On a single full charge, this wearable can apparently last for up to 30 days. It runs on the PebbleOS and even brings a stylish new aluminum frame to a squarish dial.

The Pebble Time 2 has a matte finish with the strap sizes being 22mm. On the sides, we can also see multiple buttons for controls. Eric Migicovsky, the founder of the original Pebble company, shared the details and design in a 15 minute long YouTube video. He further added that the Pebble Time 2 will debut in four color options. You also get various modern smartwatch features on this model, which include heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and step tracking.
There is also a speaker, a linear actuator motor, and water resistance as well. As of right now, the release date is still at large. However, the Pebble Time 2 will be announced for around 225 US Dollars while the Pebble 2 Duo will carry a 149 US Dollar price tag.
