Lava has launched the Play Ultra 5G, the latest phone in its Play series, following the Blaze AMOLED 2. The device is designed for performance and gaming, with a focus on display, processing power, and long-term software support.

Display and Performance
The Play Ultra comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor built on a 4nm process, paired with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The chipset is supported by MediaTek HyperEngine, which improves gaming with up to 20 percent higher FPS, better visuals, and more efficient power use during long sessions.


Memory, Storage, and Software
The phone is available in 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM options, both offering 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. Virtual RAM support adds up to 8GB extra. The device runs on Android 15 without pre-installed bloatware. Lava has confirmed two major Android updates and three years of security updates.
Cameras and Features
On the back, the Play Ultra features a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor with OIS along with a 5MP macro sensor. The front camera is 13MP. Camera modes include Night Mode, HDR, Pro Video, Dual View Video, Macro, Panorama, Slow Motion, and Time Lapse. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and USB Type-C audio. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

Battery and Connectivity
The device packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and the charger is included in the box. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and multiple GPS systems.
Pricing and Availability
The Play Ultra will be available on Amazon.in starting August 25 in Arctic Frost and Arctic Slate colors. The 6GB + 128GB model is priced at ₹14,999 and the 8GB + 128GB model at ₹16,499. With an instant ₹1,000 discount on ICICI, SBI, and HDFC cards, the effective launch prices are ₹13,999 and ₹15,499. Lava will also provide Free Service@Home across India.
