Huawei has just released a new premium truly wireless earbuds to rival Apple’s AirPods Pro 3. The FreeBuds Pro 5 brings new lossless audio tech, improved ANC, high end audio drivers, and much more for around $200, so here are all the details.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5: What makes it special?
The Chinese tech giant unveiled the FreeBuds Pro 5 in its home market. Huawei promises premium audio with twin audio drivers per earbud. Coupled with this, the FreeBuds Pro 5 comes with NearLink technology, which offers lossless audio streaming at up to 4.6Mbps. You also get access to AAC, SBC, LDAC, and L2HC audio codecs as well. The brand claims that the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) performance has seen a 3x upgrade thanks to new microphones and the custom Kirin A3 chipset.

The FreeBuds Pro 5 features an in-ear design with a stem, while the charging case has a pebble shaped body. On a single full charge, the brand’s flagship TWS earbuds offer up to 33 hours of battery life, with the earbuds alone promising 5 hours of audio playback with ANC enabled. These hearables also get an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
Huawei has officially announced the FreeBuds Pro 5 in China for 1,449 Yuan (roughly around 204 US Dollars). The brand released the earbuds in four color options. This includes White, Gray, Gold, and Blue variants. In related news, the company just unveiled the Mate 80 Pro Max, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80, and Mate X7 foldable. Alongside these flagship grade smartphones, the brand also launched the MatePad Edge.
