The Realme 16 Pro series is preparing for its global debut, and the company has now shared an early look at a major camera innovation arriving with the lineup. It will be the company’s first phone to come equipped with the company’s new in-house imaging system called the Luma Color Image technology. Continue reading ahead to learn more in detail about the imaging tech.
Luma Color Image promises refined portraits

Realme has officially announced Luma Color Image as the foundation of portrait imaging on the new Realme 16 Pro series. Developed with tuning support from TÜV Rheinland, the system is designed to handle skin tones, lighting and colour reproduction with greater precision.
The Luma Color Image Lab recreates varied real-world lighting environments such as warm indoor scenes, dim cafes or vibrant mixed-light setups, allowing the imaging pipeline to be adjusted more accurately.
Instead of treating illumination and color as separate processes, the new approach matches them in a coordinated way, producing more consistent skin tones, depth and atmosphere. Realme claims the output offers richer detail, lifelike shadows and a closer match to natural light behaviour, enabling users to capture more emotive portraits in everything from outdoor sunlight to neon-lit nightlife.
