TCL has introduced the C7L series as part of its 2026 TV lineup, targeting the upper mid-range Mini-LED segment, with a focus on balanced performance across brightness, gaming, and smart features. The series combines high refresh rate panels, advanced backlighting, and a full set of HDR and connectivity options.

The C7L features a 4K panel with a native 144 Hz refresh rate and support for higher variable refresh rates through TCL’s Game Accelerator technology. When connected to compatible HDMI sources, VRR can scale up to 288 Hz. The TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG formats, along with wide BT.2020 color coverage.
At the core is TCL’s SQD-Mini LED backlighting system paired with a CSOT HVA 2.0 panel. This setup is designed to improve contrast and light control using precise dimming zones. Depending on screen size, local dimming ranges from around 800 zones on smaller models to up to 2,176 zones on larger variants. Peak brightness is rated at up to 3,000 nits on select models.
TCL also includes its halo control system, combining a new light-emitting chip, micro lens design, and light control algorithms to reduce blooming and improve backlight uniformity. The HVA 2.0 panel adds higher native contrast and uses an upgraded color filter to improve color accuracy and viewing angles. A low-reflection layer is also included to reduce glare.
Gaming features include HDMI 2.1, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and a Game Master mode with a dedicated Game Bar interface for quick settings. Dolby Vision gaming is supported, along with low-latency features.
Audio is handled by a 2.2-channel speaker system tuned by Bang and Olufsen, with Dolby Atmos support. The TV runs on Google TV, with built-in Google Assistant, and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity.
