The AI PC era is gathering pace, with Microsoft pushing Copilot+ experiences across Windows and manufacturers responding with a new wave of AI-ready laptops. Asus has been quick to embrace this shift, refreshing its Vivobook lineup with Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors and dedicated NPUs.
Priced at Rs 1,22,990 (~$1,290) in India, the Asus Vivobook S16 (S3607AA-SH087WS) competes with premium productivity laptops from Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Acer, while inevitably drawing comparisons with Apple’s MacBook Air. After spending time with the laptop and running multiple benchmarks, here’s what the Vivobook S16 has to offer.
2The OLED display steals the show
The biggest highlight of the Vivobook S16 is undoubtedly its 16-inch OLED display.
It features a WUXGA (1920 × 1200) resolution and a productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio, providing more vertical workspace than a conventional 16:9 screen. Whether editing documents, browsing, or multitasking with split windows, the additional screen space proves genuinely useful.
As expected from an OLED panel, image quality is excellent. Colors appear vibrant, blacks are deep, and contrast is outstanding. Asus rates the display at 95% DCI-P3 color coverage with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, making it suitable for entertainment and light creative work alike.
The panel is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, but that isn’t a major drawback given the laptop’s productivity-focused positioning. Brightness peaks at 300 nits, which is sufficient for indoor use, while the anti-glare coating and TÜV-certified low blue light technology make long working sessions more comfortable.
Whether you’re streaming movies or spending hours working on documents, the OLED panel remains one of the Vivobook S16’s strongest selling points.
