Realme is set to launch its upcoming smartphone — Realme 3 in the coming weeks. Ahead of the phone’s official launch, the company trying to build up the hype and has now started teasing and revealing features of the phone.

In a recent tweet by Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth, he has confirmed that the Realme 3 will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. He also shared an image comparing Helio P70 with Snapdragon 660 SoC and claimed that the Helio P70 offers percent lower power consumption, 30 percent faster download speeds and 3 percent better multi-core CPU performance.

Earlier, he had shared an image of a smartphone in a diamond-cut design with a caption that reads “Reintroducing”, which suggests that the upcoming smartphone will come with a diamond-cut design, which the company offered in the Realme 1. The same image also showcases the smartphone featuring dual camera sensors and an LED flash, positioned in the top-left corner, vertically.

The Realme 3 won’t be the company’s first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. Realme U1, the company’s first smartphone in its all-new U-series for selfie-centric phones, is also powered by the same chipset.

The MediaTek Helio P70 processor is built by TSMC using their 12nm FinFET technology and features Cortex-A73 and Cortex A53 cores in the same 4+4 arrangement, coupled with ARM Mali-G72 GPU. The CPU is clocked at 2.1GHz for the A73 cores and 2.0GHz for the A53 cores. The GPU is also clocked higher at 900MHz. The AI processing unit (APU) also brings a 10-30% improvement in processing efficiency compared to the Helio P60.

While the launch date of Realme 3 is not yet revealed, it will surely be launched by the end of next month. Madhav Sheth had earlier confirmed that the Realme 3 will be launched in Q1 2019. Several reports are also making rounds, suggesting that the launch could take place in early March in India.

The Realme 3 will be the successor of the Realme 2 smartphone, which was launched a few months back in the Indian market. Last month, the company had announced that within four months of its launch, the company managed to sell over two million units of Realme 2 in India.
