Huawei’s Richard Yu is confident that the company will be the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer by the end of 2020. He revealed this while speaking to Chinese media after the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro launch event earlier today.
Huawei’s journey in the smartphone market has been incredible. The Chinese manufacturer has had some big goals in the past few years and time and again, it has managed to reach them. So, when Richard Yu says that he is confident that Huawei will beat Samsung next year, to become the global number one smartphone manufacturer, it’s very likely that they will reach their target.
However, he adds that when you club Huawei and Honor together, they are most likely to become number one by the end of this year itself. What’s even more surprising is that this milestone will be achieved without any operations in South Korea, Brazil, or the US!

Mr. Richard’s confidence is driven by the recent progress made by the company in its technological innovations. Huawei is going to spend nearly $6 billion in R&D this year. And its investment in R&D has definitely paid off in the past few years. The newly released Huawei P30 Pro is one of the world’s best camera smartphones. Thanks to the new RYYB sensor, and 50X zoom, the phone is unmatched in terms of sheer camera experience.
When the media asked Richard Yu about US’ offensive against Huawei, he said that it was rather favorable for the company. It was thrown into the limelight because of the clash with the world’s largest economy and in turn, a lot of people came to know about the company.
