Huawei has expanded its HarmonyOS PC lineup with a new premium ultralight notebook aimed at users who prioritise portability without sacrificing flagship features. Called the Huawei MateBook Pro S, the laptop combines a lightweight metal chassis, a new Kirin processor, an OLED display, and AI-powered software features.
Huawei MateBook Pro S specifications and features
The Huawei MateBook Pro S sports a 14.2-inch flexible OLED display with a 3120 x 2080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, P3 colour gamut, touch support, and what Huawei calls the industry’s first Lingdun privacy display. A dedicated privacy key lets users instantly switch the privacy mode on or off.
The MateBook Pro S is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin XE90 processor, which the company says delivers a 23% improvement in single-core performance, 25% higher power efficiency, and 40% faster NPU performance than the Kirin X90.
The chip is paired with a redesigned cooling system featuring dual fans and vertically oriented graphene thermal material, enabling up to 20W sustained performance. It also packs a 54Wh battery with 66W USB-C fast charging and is claimed to deliver over 18 hours of 1080p video playback.
The laptop runs HarmonyOS 6.1 with AI features such as upgraded Celia, AI meeting transcription, deep research tools, cross-device collaboration, and system-level security enhancements. Other highlights include six microphones, Wi-Fi 7+, Star Flash audio, and reverse fast charging for compatible devices. Finally, it features magnesium-lithium alloy body that weighs just 798g and measures 11.9mm thick, making it Huawei’s lightest 14-inch HarmonyOS laptop to date.
Huawei MateBook Pro S price and availability
The Huawei MateBook Pro S is now available in China. The 24GB+512GB variant is priced at 7,999 Yuan (~$1,185), the 24GB+512GB Soft Light Edition costs 8,999 Yuan (~$1,330), while the 24GB+1TB, 24GB+1TB Privacy Edition, and 24GB+1TB Collector’s Edition are priced at 10,499 Yuan (~$1,555), 11,799 Yuan (~$1,745), and 14,999 Yuan (~$2,220), respectively.
It is offered in Dawn Yellow, Summer Purple, Velvet White, Smoky Grey, and Feather Black color options.
