Huawei opened pre-orders for the Huawei Pura 90 Plus in China today and released the phone’s first official teaser. It joins the family that Huawei launched in April with the Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Pro Max, and it is the one model that skips the flat-edge look.

Pre-orders begin at 10:08 today through Huawei’s VMall online store, Experience Stores, and other authorized retailers. Huawei is also offering exclusive benefits to early buyers. The phone will officially launch next week, with shipments expected before November 8.

Huawei Pura 90 Plus Announcement

The official teaser shows the Huawei Pura 90 Plus in Sunset Purple, a gradient finish blending purple and orange, also available on the Pura 90 Pro Max. The rear camera module retains the series’ inverted triangle layout in the upper-right corner, keeping the phone’s design in line with the rest of the lineup.

The frame is where the Pura 90 Plus differs from the rest of the lineup. While the Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Pro Max all have flat edges, the Plus model returns to a curved frame and rounded back panel similar to the Huawei Pura 80 Pro.

Huawei Pura 90 Plus specs (rumored)

Huawei hasn’t revealed the phone’s hardware yet, so the specifications remain unconfirmed. The device, reportedly codenamed Lucia, is expected to sit between the standard Pura 90 and the Pura 90 Pro in the lineup. Its price is still unknown, although the Pura 90 Pro starts at 5,499 yuan, while the standard Pura 90 starts at 4,699 yuan.

According to leaks, the Pura 90 Plus will feature a 50MP 1-inch RYYB main camera with a physical variable aperture. RYYB sensors replace some green pixels with yellow ones to capture more light, while the adjustable aperture lets the camera control how much light enters the lens and how much of a scene stays in focus.

The rumored camera setup also includes a 48MP macro telephoto camera, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. Huawei is also said to be introducing a new version of its XMAGE imaging algorithm.

Under the hood, the phone is tipped to run on Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chip, with eight CPU cores clocked at 2.5GHz, 2.15GHz, and 1.6GHz, alongside a Maleoon 920 GPU. The display is reportedly a 6.8-inch panel with a 1.5K resolution.

Huawei is expected to confirm the Pura 90 Plus’s complete specifications and pricing at next week’s launch event.
