Huawei has launched the Pura 90 Plus in China. The company opened pre-orders and showed the phone’s first teaser last week, and today it confirmed the full specifications. The Pura 90 Plus is the only model in the Pura 90 family with a curved frame, and it is the first phone to use the Kirin 9025 chip.
The phone comes in four colors: Obsidian Black, Snow White, Sunset Purple, and Dawn Gold. The body goes back to a curved metal frame, which Huawei says gives the phone more texture and a better grip. The other Pura 90 models all have flat edges, as you can see in the Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max launch.
The front has a 6.8-inch quad-curved display with a resolution of 2848 x 1276 pixels. And since it’s an LTPO panel, it supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, along with 1440Hz PWM dimming and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
Huawei Pura 90 Plus specifications
Powering the Huawei Pura 90 Plus is the new Kirin 9025 chip. Huawei claims its combined hardware, software, chipset, and cloud optimizations improve overall performance by 19%.
The phone runs HarmonyOS 7 and supports Huawei’s Super Storage feature. According to the company, it can free up to 110GB of storage on the 1TB model.
On the back, the Pura 90 Plus has a 50MP main camera built around a 1-inch sensor. It supports a variable aperture ranging from f/1.6 to f/4.0 and optical image stabilization (OIS).
The camera system also includes a 48MP macro telephoto camera with an f/2.1 aperture and OIS, a 40MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 1.5MP multispectral red maple color camera.
On the software side, you get features like XMAGE Smart Shooting, XMAGE Style, AI Pose Recommendation, AI Assisted Composition, Ultra HD Panorama, AI Ultra HD Enhancement, Super Night Scene, and Space Chasing. These tools cover different shooting situations, from portraits and landscapes to low-light photography.
The Pura 90 Plus packs a 5,700mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. It also supports two-way BeiDou satellite messaging and Huawei’s advertised 5A speeds.
Huawei Pura 90 Plus Price and Availability
The Pura 90 Plus comes in three configurations in China:
- 12GB + 256GB: 5,499 yuan (about $815)
- 12GB + 512GB: 5,999 yuan (about $889)
- 16GB + 1TB: 6,999 yuan (about $1,037)
Sales start at 10:08 on October 31. Huawei is also running a Double 11 Renewal Season offer from October 28 to November 30. It takes up to 300 yuan (about $44) off, so the renewal price starts at 5,199 yuan (about $770).
