Realme is stepping back into the smartwatch market after a year-long break with the new Realme Watch 5. The company’s new Realme Watch 5 has quietly popped up on Amazon Germany, where it’s already available to add to cart, though shipping won’t start until early November.
Realme Watch 5 Specifications
The Watch 5 comes with a 1.97-inch rectangular AMOLED display at 390×450 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits of peak brightness. Its battery life is rated for up to 14 days on a single charge, partly thanks to a 460mAh cell and partly to the lightweight OS that Realme is using here instead of Google’s Wear OS.
On the health and fitness side, Realme is offering 108 workout modes, continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The watch also has built-in GPS and GNSS, more than 300 customizable watch faces, and support for NFC payments.
As for the design, its chunky case and strap options make the Watch 5 look like an Apple Watch Ultra 2. Even the strap styling looks familiar.
The watch is likely to be available in black and silver, and Amazon’s listing mentions the latter as “Titanium Silver”, though it’s unclear whether titanium is part of the construction or simply a marketing label.
A previous leak suggests Realme will also bundle in Bluetooth calling and a new Bluetooth intercom mode, which could allow direct device-to-device communication without a phone. There’s also mention of NFC-based access cards and a built-in compass for navigation.
The Realme Watch 5 is priced at €70 in Germany. However, the earliest delivery date is listed as November 3, meaning Realme’s official launch is just a week away.
MSI has launched its latest gaming monitor, the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24, in China. The monitor is priced at 2,999 yuan ($420) and is now available on JD.com.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is official, and it claims some big upgrades over last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. The third-gen Oryon CPU offers 20% improved performance, while also improving the power efficiency by 35%. The new Adreno 840 GPU, combined with software enhancements, promises a 23% performance boost and 20% better power efficiency.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is already making waves in early benchmark numbers, as we reported recently. But we’re more interested in finding out how big an upgrade it is over the Snapdragon 8 Elite. So, we compared the benchmark scores to determine the answer.
Snapdragon 8 Elite vs Snapdragon 8 Elite Benchmark score
The benchmark scores were obtained by testing the Xiaomi 17 (powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5), as shared by Digital Chat Station. For the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the tests were performed on the Realme GT 7 Pro.
Geekbench score
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 achieved 3,621 and 11,190 in single-core and multi-core performance, respectively, which is about 17% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3,122/9,507).
During the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 launch, Qualcomm claimed a 20% boost in single-core performance and 17% for multi-core, and the latest benchmark result aligns with that, mostly.

Note that benchmark scores vary device to device due to different specifications, software optimizations, and cooling systems. For the same reason, you will get higher benchmark figures on the Xiaomi 17 Pro.
AnTuTu score
The AnTuTu platform shows rather interesting results. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 gets a total AnTuTu score of over 3.87 million, which is 40% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite. But doesn’t the latest Snapdragon chip cross the 4 million mark? Well, the gap isn’t too big, and perhaps the Xiaomi 17 Pro would fill it with its more powerful hardware. The Realme 8 Pro does cross that mark, as recently teased by the brand.

Xiaomi has just launched the 15T for the global market, and just a day later, here comes the 17 Series in China. They decided to skip the naming of 16, and jump straight to 17. It feels like Xiaomi wants to compare itself head-to-head with iPhone 17 Series. The naming is not the only odd thing, the lineup is also incredibly similar. There is the Xiaomi 17, the 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. Tim Cook is like: Seriously bro?
Anyway, jokes aside, we are serious about Xiaomi phone reviews. Gizmochina knows Xiaomi flagships the best, and we make the most comprehensive reviews across the entire internet. After this first hands-on article, we will present you the full review of Xiaomi 17 and the 17 Pro Max, also a comparison between the iPhone 17 Pro. Those reviews are going to be epic! Stay tuned!
Now the Pro and Pro Max are very interesting, because they have a giant screen at the back. Since they are very similar, we will only show the Pro Max here.
Let’s do a quick unboxing. There is the 100W charger and the cable at the bottom, then a clear case. Lastly, the phone.
So just at a glance, people always say it reminds them of the Camera Plato on the iPhone 17 Pro series, it kind of does, as the shape is very similar. But the major difference is that there is a screen there, rather than just a piece of metal. If you have watched some flip phone reviews, you must know what it means to have a smaller screen at the back. It will be so convenient for some notifications, taking phone calls, taking selfies, and even playing some games. Xiaomi has made a similar thing on the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, only it was a tiny screen there. It says the specs of this screen are just like the main screen, same material, same brightness, same refresh rate. And when it comes to selfies, it can provide softer light, to make the selfie look better. There is even a Game Boy case made just for it, for you to play some classic games at the back, or even some new games like Angry Birds. Overall, this back screen is going to be very useful and fun, we will show you more in the full review.
The overall build looks and feels very premium, the screen is made of so-called M10 material, the brightness will boost up to 3500nits max, but consumes less power, and is more eye-friendly. The bezels are very thin, and are also symmetrical at four corners, it looks very good. It says Xiaomi has put a lot of effort and money into the screens, supposedly leading the industry right now.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 debuted on the Xiaomi 17 Series, again the most powerful chipset besides Apple’s A19 Pro. The battery capacity is 7500mAh, which is very impressive to have such a big battery in a bar phone, and part of the reason why the battery should be so large is that, there is a second screen there, more battery is needed. Anyway, we should see more phones with over 7000mAh soon.
It supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. And surprisingly it supports the regular PPS protocol, so you can also use regular high-power fast chargers that support PPS to charge this phone. Perhaps you can ditch that annoying Xiaomi one in the box, because it still uses Type-A port.
Finally about the camera system, it is a triple 50MP camera setup at the back, and a 50MP camera at the front. The Light Fusion 950 High Dynamic Sensor debuted on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and the Pro Max, and the LOFIC high dynamic range technology can be used in the main camera, which will benefit both photos and video recording a lot. For other cameras, we will test them out in the full review. And if you are interested in the 17 Pro Max already, you can go purchase it from Geekwills. Another message we want you to know right now, we are going to buy all the flagships that will be released in the next month or so, and do all the thorough reviews. In those reviews, maybe you will find the right phone for yourself for 2026, so make sure you don’t miss out.
Xiaomi 17
Moving on to the 17, as usual, it is made for those who love small phones. It inherits most of the design from the 15, but the color scheme is leaning towards a more vibrant style. Other than the black and white, there are also pink and blue. Xiaomi claims that they have made a change in the corners of the frame, with a new 19.6:9 ratio, meaning it is more rounded, supposedly very friendly to your palm.
It is still a 6.3” phone, you would feel very secure and pleasant holding it in your hand. The chip inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same as the pro models. And the most notable feature is probably the battery size, 7000mAh, which is massive if we talk about a battery in a small body. One thing to mention though, the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s battery is actually smaller than the 17. The size of these two is the same, but the back screen on the 17 Pro takes up some space inside, therefore, the battery is smaller. It’s a slight trade-off, let us know which one you would choose.
When it comes to the camera system. It has a triple 50MP camera setup, the focal length of the main camera and the telephoto camera haven’t changed, but the wide-angle has changed from 14mm to 17mm, not as wide as before. The Light Fusion 950 High Dynamic Sensor debuted on the Xiaomi 17, it says the dynamic range and anti-flare performance are much improved. Together with the overall performance, we will test them out in the full review. The front camera is also a 50MP.
For some details that weren’t mentioned in the 17, they are either similar or the same as the Pro models.
Summary
Alright, what do you think about the Xiaomi 17 series? Do you like the design and overall performance? Let us know in the comments section. For this series, it really can’t shake off the impression it gives to the tech world, and Xiaomi isn’t annoyed by it apparently. Other than that, they are carrying some interesting features. They have put a lot of effort and money into the new screens and the battery; some praise should be given to them. The 17 Pro Max is a true flagship, and the 17 is still an excellent option for those who prefer smaller phones. Don’t forget that you can order the Xiaomi 17 Series from Geekwills!
Oppo is gearing up to expand its tablet lineup with the Oppo Pad 5, and the company has finally confirmed that the launch is happening next month. The company’s Oppo Pad 4 Pro debuted in China with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip earlier this year, and now, a new Oppo Pad 5 flagship model is arriving soon.
Oppo Pad 5 Launch Date Revealed: What we know so far
The Chinese tech giant just shared a short teaser trailer that showcased the Oppo Pad 5. Looking at the video, it is clear that Oppo aims to make the Pad 5 a multimedia and productivity power house. Oppo Pad 5 Launch Date
But unlike its predecessor, the brand is offering cutting edge performance by replacing the Qualcomm chip with a flagship MediaTek processor. It might sport a tall 12.1-inch LCD panel with a high 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, a massive 10,300mAh battery pack could power this tablet that could support 67W wired fast charging.
The Oppo Pad 5 is rumored to arrive in multiple storage configurations, namely 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 512GB. The brand is expected to launch this tablet in multiple color options, including Purple, Silver, and Gray. At first glance, the Xiaomi 17 Pro‘s rear display might look like a gimmick, just another small screen slapped onto the back of a phone because someone thought it would look cool.
But dig a little deeper, and it becomes obvious that Xiaomi isn’t just following trends. They’re completely rethinking what a secondary screen can actually do, and honestly, it’s pretty impressive.
Rear Display That Actually Feels Personal
We’re looking at a 2.7-inch display on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 2.9 inches on the 17 Pro Max. This isn’t some basic notification ticker, it’s a proper AMOLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and crazy bright output hitting up to 3,500 nits. The customization options run so deep that it starts feeling less like a phone feature and more like a tiny piece of personal tech that reflects who you are.
Want something that looks like a classic watch? There are dozens of faces to choose from, everything from old-school mechanical designs to clean, modern styles.
More of a fun person? Meet “Pangda,” Xiaomi’s animated virtual pet panda that does backflips and actually reacts to how you’re using your phone throughout the day.
There’s even this wild AI feature that can take photos of your pets or family and turn them into animated wallpapers that look like they came straight out of a Pixar movie or Studio Ghibli film.
Real Functionality, Not Just Pretty Visuals
Don’t worry though, this isn’t all about cute animations and fancy watch faces. Xiaomi made sure this rear screen actually earns its place on the phone with genuinely useful stuff. It handles real-time alerts like boarding passes, delivery tracking, ride-share updates, and music controls without you having to wake up the main screen.
Need to keep a QR code handy for payments or jot down a quick reminder? Just pin it right to the back. Screenshots and notes become instant digital sticky notes.
The screen also mirrors notifications when you’re using it, and Xiaomi has put thought into the interface design to cut down on accidental taps, which is pretty important when you’re constantly flipping between the front and back of the phone.
Selfies and Vlogs with the Main Camera
Here’s where this whole rear display thing goes from “that’s neat” to “why doesn’t every phone do this?” Since the back screen is fully touch-responsive and shows you exactly what the front screen would, you can flip the phone around and use those much better rear cameras for selfies and video calls.
Think about what that means: instead of being stuck with whatever mediocre front camera the phone has, you get to use the same camera setup that takes all your best regular photos. The difference is huge.
You’re suddenly getting studio-quality portraits, sharp video content, and wide-angle group shots without any of the usual compromises that come with front-facing cameras. Plus, all the fancy camera features, beauty filters, zoom, portrait mode, work perfectly while you’re watching yourself on the rear display.
There’s even this fun Polaroid-style tool that lets you create photo collages with little animations. It’s clearly made with the TikTok and Instagram crowd in mind, but there’s something charming about it that works for anyone who likes being creative with photos.
Yes, It Plays Games Too
Here’s something nobody saw coming: get Xiaomi’s special retro gaming case, and that rear display turns into what’s basically a Game Boy. The case has physical buttons that connect wirelessly to the screen, so you can play classic games like Angry Birds and Snake with actual buttons instead of tapping the screen.
Is it practical? Not really. Will most people use it regularly? Probably not. But is it absolutely cool that they even thought to include it? Definitely. It’s exactly the kind of “we did this because we could” engineering that makes Xiaomi stand out.
Why This Actually Matters
What makes this rear screen special isn’t just the tech specs or how well it’s made, it’s the whole approach. While Apple is tweaking their Dynamic Island and Samsung is folding screens in half, Xiaomi went in a completely different direction and created something that feels personal, adaptable, and just a little bit fun. Whether you use it as a productivity tool, a better way to take selfies, or a tiny digital pet playground, it molds itself to what you want.
In a smartphone world where most flagship phones feel like variations on the same theme, the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s rear display stands out as genuinely different. It’s not something you absolutely need; your phone would work fine without it.
But it’s the kind of feature that makes you interact with your device in new ways, and that’s becoming pretty rare these days. That alone makes it worth paying attention to.

Xiaomi hasn’t said much about its foldable roadmap since launching the Mix Fold 4 in 2024, but a fresh leak suggests the company could be preparing for an unexpected shift.
According to XiaomiTime, a new Xiaomi foldable has appeared in the IMEI database under the model number 26023PN08C, with the codename “pecan.”
Xiaomi 17 Fold incoming?
While model codes aren’t usually interesting, this one reveals a major detail about the upcoming foldable. What makes this interesting is the “PN” in the model number.
Xiaomi’s Mix Fold lineup so far has used codes with “PX” in them. Mix Fold 4 (24072PX77C), for instance. The “PN” tag, on the other hand, has usually been tied to the company’s main number series, like the Xiaomi 17.
So if the instincts are true, Xiaomi’s next foldable may skip the Mix Fold 5 or Fold 6 branding entirely and instead launch as the Xiaomi 17 Fold.
The company typically introduces its foldables in June, but this device is tipped for a February 2026 debut. It could debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which is expected around the same time.
On the hardware side, the leak reveals the Xiaomi 17 Fold could feature a 200-megapixel Samsung S5KHP5 main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide (OV50M), and another 50-megapixel auxiliary shooter (OV50M), plus a 16-megapixel front-facing camera (OV16F). That is largely the same setup as the Mix Fold 3.
For now, the Xiaomi 17 Fold exists only as a database entry. But if Xiaomi really plans to launch it next year, more details are likely to surface through leaks long before the official reveal. We’ll keep an eye out as the picture becomes clearer.

Nubia is preparing the Z80 Ultra, its next camera-focused flagship, and the company has started dropping hints about what to expect. The new device will follow the Z70S Ultra, which launched earlier this year with an under-display selfie camera and a main lens designed to mimic the look of a 35mm camera.
According to Nubia manager Zhang Lei, the Z80 Ultra will once again feature a display without a notch or punch-hole, keeping the full-screen experience intact. The front camera will still sit under the panel, but improvements to the technology should deliver clearer selfies and reduce the hazy effect that earlier versions sometimes produced. The display itself is expected to refresh at 144Hz, with touch sampling speeds that can peak as high as 3,000Hz in gaming mode.
As for imaging improvements, the phone features a larger 1/1.55-inch ultrawide sensor, compared to the 1/2.88-inch sensor used in the Z70 Ultra, Z70S Ultra, and many competing flagships such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro (1/2.76-inch) or the Galaxy S25 Ultra (1/2.5-inch). Nubia is highlighting that the Z80 Ultra doesn’t compromise on its ultrawide camera—an area where many rivals still cut corners—giving its system a clear advantage in certain shooting scenarios.
Company executives also confirmed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which delivers gains across CPU, GPU, and AI performance. Qualcomm says the chip offers around 20% faster CPU speeds, a 23% boost in GPU performance, and a 37% improvement in NPU efficiency.
The battery capacity is rumored to increase to 7,100mAh, up from the 6150 mAh of the Z70 Ultra and 6600 mAh of the Z70S Ultra. The Z80 Ultra is tipped to arrive in November.
Qualcomm has taken the wraps off its latest mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, during its annual Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii. And if you thought last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite was powerful, this one is on another level.
Qualcomm says the Gen 5 brings a serious bump across CPU, GPU, AI, and camera performance, and it’s already starting to show up in new devices.
The first phone to use the new chip is the Xiaomi 17 series, which launched last night in China. But Xiaomi is just the beginning. More than a dozen brands are lined up to ship phones with the Gen 5, including iQOO, Realme, OnePlus, Honor, Nubia, RedMagic, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, and ZTE.
So, what’s inside this chip? At the heart is Qualcomm’s third-gen Oryon CPU, with a prime core clocked at up to 4.6GHz. Qualcomm claims a 20 percent performance gain and up to 35 percent better efficiency compared to last year.
The Adreno GPU also gets a 23 percent boost, which should help with smoother ray-traced gaming. And Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU is getting a big bump too—37 percent more throughput for on-device AI. That means faster photo editing, generative tools, and smarter assistants right on your phone.
Now that the chip is official, let’s see the phones that will soon arrive with it.
iQOO has confirmed it will launch the iQOO 15 in October in China. It will be the world’s first smartphone to feature Samsung Display’s new 2K LEAD OLED panel. The screen is said to be up to 740 percent brighter than previous panels while consuming 44 percent less power.
The phone will also pack a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and wireless charging, a triple-camera setup with a 100x telephoto lens, and iQOO’s dedicated Q3 gaming chip alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Oh, and there’s RGB lighting on the back plus a color-changing rear panel.
The GT 8 Pro is said to feature a 2K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 7,000 nits of brightness. Powering it will be a massive 7,000mAh battery, reportedly paired with 120W fast charging. As for cameras, it could include a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 12x lossless zoom.
3. OnePlus 15
OnePlus is also ready to jump into the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 party with its upcoming OnePlus 15. This time, it looks like OnePlus is chasing that ultra-premium vibe. The phone is confirmed to feature 1.15mm ultra-thin bezels around a flat display that supports a 165Hz refresh rate.
Inside, the phone will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, up to 16GB of RAM, and Android 16 with either ColorOS 16 (China) or OxygenOS 16 (global). Battery capacity is expected to hover around 7,000mAh, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
For cameras, OnePlus seems to be keeping things more practical. It could feature a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a periscope telephoto, and an ultrawide. The company has already shared some official photo samples, hinting at better low-light performance.
4. Honor Magic 8 series
Honor has been heavily teasing the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro on Chinese social media, with a clear focus on the cameras. The Magic 8 Pro in particular is rumored to feature a 200MP telephoto lens with 12x zoom, a 23mm main camera, and a dedicated camera button.
Both phones will run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and Honor is adding its own AI flavor with features like Magic Color, which uses AI to simplify and enhance image processing. The phones are expected to launch in China this October, with a global release to follow later.
5. Nubia Z80 Ultra
Nubia has long been pushing under-display selfie cameras in its flagship phones for years now, and the upcoming Z80 Ultra continues that trend. This flagship will once again ditch notches and punch holes for a seamless display.
The panel will have 144Hz refresh rate support and up to 3,000Hz touch sampling in gaming mode. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Gen 5 chip, of course, paired with a rumored 7,100mAh battery.
6. RedMagic 11 Pro
Nubia’s gaming-focused sub-brand is also preparing the RedMagic 11 Pro series, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The phones will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance and will still keep their built-in cooling fan.
The 11 Pro has also appeared in benchmarks with 3,309 single-core and 10,742 multi-core scores on Geekbench, with 16GB RAM and Android 16. It’s still early days for details, but if past RedMagic phones are anything to go by, expect shoulder triggers, RGB lights, and gamer-friendly extras.
7. What about Samsung and others?
While brands like Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, and Sony are also confirmed partners, their Gen 5-powered devices won’t arrive until later. Samsung’s big play will likely be the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026, which is rumored to use the same OLED screen that debuts on the iQOO 15.
Vivo and Oppo tend to roll out their Snapdragon flagships in the first half of the year, so announcements are more likely to come sometime in 2026.
