In the latest quarter of 2023, Xiaomi launched its new series of flagship smartphones including the Xiaomi 14 Pro which is the most advanced variant. It is one of the first phones ever with the latest Qualcomm’s flagship chipset and it will be one of the most important flagships in the market at least in early 2024. At the end of the year, another brand came up with an amazing flagship able to compete with the new Xiaomi one, but it is not one of the most important brands out there. You will discover it in this comparison between the main specifications of the Nubia Z60 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Design
The design of the Nubia Z60 Ultra is definitely more attractive than the Xiaomi 14 Pro, even though the phone is bigger in dimensions. It has a display almost without any bezel and with no visible cutout for the front camera because it is placed under the display. Further, it is also available in special color variants such as Starry Night inspired by the famous Van Gogh painting. Last but not least, it is original and elegant. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is thinner and lighter, as well as more compact than its rival. It is also available with a titanium frame improving the resistance to drops and scratches. Both phones are waterproof with the IP68 certification.
Display
The most interesting display is definitely the one found on the Xiaomi 14 Pro, at least when it comes to quality. It is an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.73 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate (adaptive with the LTPO technology), Dolby Vision, a peak brightness of 3000 nits, the HDR10+ certification, and 68 billion colors. With the Nubia Z60 Ultra, you actually get an inferior display but with a wider diagonal and an under-display front camera. The screen has a diagonal of 6.8 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1116 x 2480 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, one billion colors, HDR10+ certification, and a peak brightness of 1500 nits.
Specs & Software
The Nubia Z60 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Pro are powered by the amazing Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform: an octa-core chipset built with a 4 nm production process and running at a max frequency of 3.3 GHz. It is composed of a cluster with a Cortex X4 CPU, a cluster with five Cortex A720 CPUs, a cluster with two Cortex A520 CPUs, and an Adreno 750 GPU. Alongside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Nubia Z60 Ultra offers up to 24 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro stops at just 16 GB of RAM. Both phones run Android 14 out of the box, with highly customized user interfaces on top.
Camera
The Xiaomi 14 Pro has a superior camera department. It is co-engineered with Leica and it includes three sensors on the rear side. There is the new Sony LYT-900 with a 50 MP resolution and a variable focal aperture, a 50 MP periscope with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide shooter. The Nubia Z60 Ultra has the same 50 MP main camera, but with an inferior 64 MP periscope and without a variable focal aperture. You get a 50 MP ultrawide sensor as well.
Battery
The biggest advantage of the Nubia Z60 Ultra is the battery: with a capacity of 6000 mAh, it is simply huge. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro charges faster and it is the only one with wireless charging.
