POCO M6 vs Realme C67: Specs Comparison

    81

2023 ended not only with several new flagships but also with new amazing affordable phones belonging to the low-end niche. Among the most interesting ones launched in the Indian peninsula, there are definitely the POCO M6 by Xiaomi’s sub-brand and the Realme C67 by a former OPPO’s sub-brand which still uses its technology as part of the Ouga group. Given that they are positioned in the same price range, it is definitely hard for buyers to choose. Is it better to save some money for the POCO M6 or to get slightly better specifications with the Realme C67? This comparison between the specifications of these two phones, which should also be my last comparison here at Gizmochina (goodbye to everyone who followed me here, it’s been very exciting to work here for about seven years), will clear your ideas in regard.

    Design

Given that they are very affordable phones, maybe you already understood that the POCO M6 and the Realme C67 are built with cheap materials. Their bodies are made of polycarbonate, but they are all but ugly devices. I personally prefer the design of the Realme C67 with its circular camera module and minimalistic back cover. It is also slimmer than its rival, and it has a slightly smaller display easier to use with one hand. Further, it has a punch-hole for the front camera instead of that ugly waterdrop notch found on its rival. Both phones are splash and dust resistant, with the C67 sporting the IP54 certification to prove it.

    Display

If you are looking for the best display, then you should surely choose the Realme C67. It has an IPS LCD panel with a diagonal of 6.72 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of up to 680 nits. The POCO M6 by Xiaomi comes with an IPS LCD display as well but with a lower resolution and a lower refresh rate. It has a diagonal of 6.74 inches, an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 600 nits. There is no challenge. Both handsets are equipped with in-display fingerprint readers, but the POCO has Corning Gorilla Glass protection making the display sturdier.

    Specs & Software

The processors of these two devices are exactly the same: we are talking about the Dimensity 6100+ by Mediatek, one of the cheapest 5G processors released by the Taiwanese chipmaker. It is built with a 6 nm production process and it is composed of a cluster with two Cortex A76 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.2 GHz, a cluster with six Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The POCO M6 by Xiaomi wins the hardware comparison because it offers more RAM and more native storage: up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage which you can further expand with a micro SD. These devices run Android 13 out of the box, customized by MIUI and Realme UI, respectively.

    Camera

There are no huge differences in the camera departments of these devices, but if you need the most advanced one, then you should opt for the Realme C67. It has a 50 MP main sensor, a 2 MP depth camera, and an 8 MP selfie snapper. While the main sensor is the same as the POCO M6, the secondary camera and the selfie snapper are actually better, even though the differences are marginal.

    Battery

The POCO M6 by Xiaomi and the Realme C67 are both powered by a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. However, the battery life of the POCO M6 is superior because it has a display with a lower resolution, even though they have the same chipset. On the other hand, the C67 charges quicker thanks to 33W fast charging instead of just 18W.

    Price

If you want to buy the POCO M6 in the Indian market, you are willing to pay Rs. 10,799 or $130 for the base variant, while the Realme C67 starts from Rs. 12,370 or $149. Which one would you pick?
