Honor Magic Flip tipped to debut after the Honor 200 series

Honor is reportedly working on the Honor Magic Flip (tentative name), a clamshell foldable phone, for the Chinese market. There is no official word on the launch timeframe for the device. However, a new leak, courtesy of a Chinese leaker, has revealed when the Magic Flip is expected to be released in the market.

Honor Magic Flip launch timeframe (rumored)

Honor 200 first, Honor Flip later
Honor Magic Flip is said to launch after the Honro 200 series

According to the leaker, the Honor 200 series will launch first and after that, the brand will unveil its first-ever flip phone equipped with a foldable screen. A recent leak revealed a couple of upper mid-range phones, such as the Huawei Nova 13 series, the Reno 12 series, the Vivo S19 lineup, and the Honor 200 series will debut in June in China.

Unfortunately, the new leak has not revealed anything about the specifications of the Honor 200 series and the Magic Flip. So far, reports have revealed a few details of the flip phone. A mock render based on rumors surrounding the device.

It was revealed that the Honor Magic Flip will have a large external display like the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. It is expected to feature a dual camera system and a leather back. The device is expected to pack a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery.

A previous report claimed that the Magic Flip will make its debut by the end of Q2 this year. This suggests that the Honor 200 and Magic Flip could potentially launch in June. The digital series could be introduced first, with the flip potentially arriving in the latter part of June.

It appears that the company plans to release two more foldable phones in the second half of the year. These are likely to include the Magic V3 and the V Purse 2 as successors to last year’s Magic V2 and V Purse foldable phones. These devices are likely to sport inward and outward folding designs, respectively.

Oppo Reno 12 series key specifications leaked, tipped to feature Dimensity 8300 / 9200 Plus phones

In June, Huawei, Honor, Vivo, and Oppo are poised to compete in the upper mid-range smartphone segment as they are set to release new devices in this category. The four-way battle would include the Nova 13 series, the Honor 200 series, the Vivo S19 lineup, and the Reno 12 series. Back in February, a major leak revealed the key specifications of the Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro. However, it did not explicitly mention the names of the chipsets that power these smartphones. A new leak that has emerged on Weibo today revealed the chipsets of both smartphones along with some of their other specs.

Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro key specifications (rumored)

OPPO Reno 11 series
OPPO Reno 11 series

According to the tipster, the Reno 12 series will be powered by the Dimensity 8300 and the Dimensity 9200 Plus chipsets. To recall, the Chinese variants of the Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro were powered by the Dimensity 8200 and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets. Hence, it appears that the company may power the Reno 12 with the Dimensity 8300, whereas the Reno 12 Pro may come equipped with the Dimensity 9200 Plus.

The leak suggests that the Reno 12’s screen will support a 1080p resolution whereas the Pro variant’s display may offer a 1.5K resolution. The screens of both phones are said to feature micro curvature on all four sides equally.

The new leak further states that the Reno 12 series will have a plastic middle frame and a glass back. The back panel of both phones will have a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom for portrait shots. Both phones are also said to support 80W fast charging.

Recent reports have revealed that the Oppo is also working on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Oppo Pad 3. In addition, a new leak claims that the brand is also planning to launch a new pair of earphones. The launch schedule of these devices is said to be similar to the Reno 12 lineup. Hence, it seems that apart from the Reno 12 series, the brand may also launch other devices in June in China.

Samsung “confirms” first detail about the Galaxy S25 series: To have more AI features thanks to Google

The future of on-device AI for upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphones appears to be shaping up, with rumors suggesting a continued collaboration with Google and the next version of their AI model, Gemini Nano 2.

Currently, the Galaxy S24 series uses the first-generation Gemini Nano for on-device features. However, a fresh new rumor suggests that the Galaxy S25, which may launch in early 2025, could be the first to feature the yet-to-be-announced Gemini Nano 2.

The news stems from a report by Daum Herald Economy, a South Korean website, quoting comments made by Executive Director Cho Cheol-min of Samsung Electronics’ System LSI division.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Galaxy AI

According to the report, Cho Cheol-min recently discussed plans for the Galaxy S25 generation at a forum.

Notably, these discussions included details about Google’s Gemini Nano 2, which Google itself hasn’t officially unveiled yet.

The report implies that Samsung is planning to partner with Google once again for the Galaxy S25 flagships in 2025.

The partnership would probably involve using the next version of Google’s large language model, Gemini Nano 2, to power the on-device AI features of the S25.

Details on how Gemini Nano 2 will improve upon its predecessor are currently under wraps. However, we can expect improvements in areas like voice recognition and image processing.

Another area of speculation is the cost of these advanced AI features. In February, there were hints from Samsung’s Mobile Experience CEO that future AI features might require a subscription fee of sorts. So the upcoming Gemini Nano 2-powered AI feature may not be entirely free.

The official launch of the Galaxy S25 series is months away. And it’s still not confirmed what improvements Google’s Gemini Nano 2 will bring in terms of on-device AI.

So while the report hints at an ongoing collaboration between the two companies, we’ll need to wait and see how this partnership unfolds in the future.

Sony Xperia 1 VI launch event set for May 17; Here’s what we know so far

Sony has announced its Xperia product launch event for May 17th, expected to showcase the new Xperia 1 VI flagship smartphone. Few details about this smartphone have already surfaced online.

A report has stated that the Xperia 1 VI flagship smartphone is expected to have 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4mm dimensions, with slight increases in width and thickness compared to the Xperia 1 V due to the aspect ratio change. The device will move away from the 21:9 ratio of its predecessors, now adopting a more mainstream 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is rumored to sport a 2K+ or Quad HD+ screen, offering a resolution of about 3200 x 1440 pixels, differing from the 4K displays in earlier models.

As for optics, there have been conflicting reports. An initial report came out saying that the Xperia 1 VI will feature a triple camera setup that will use three 48MP Exmor T sensors, meaning that the primary, as well as the ultrawide and the telephoto camera, will all have Sony’s cutting-edge camera sensor.

Sony Xperia 1 VI

On the other hand, a more recent report has dismissed these claims, stating that the Xperia 1 VI will offer a 48 MP, f/1.9, 24 mm, 1/1.35 main camera, paired with a 12 MP, f/2.2, 16 mm, 1/2.5 ultra-wide camera and a 12 MP, f/2.3, 85mm, f/2.8, 125mm, 1/3.5 telephoto camera. This means that only the primary camera will feature an Exmor T sensor. It is also worth pointing out that this is the exact same camera setup as the current Xperia 1 V. So we will likely have to wait for May 17 for official clarification on the matter. It is also worth pointing out that while this unveiling will happen on May 17, the phones will likely take a few more weeks to hit store shelves as usual.

Apple Watch X renders tease magnetic bands, slimmer design & more

Tech giant Apple is rumored to be prepping a major overhaul for its smartwatch lineup this year, with the upcoming Apple Watch expected to sport a completely new design, advanced health tracking features, and a revamped band attachment system.

Apple Watch X render

Mark Gurman suggests the company might ditch the traditional naming scheme and call the new device “Apple Watch X” to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the original Apple Watch launched in 2014.

YouTuber Sam Kohl, known for his Apple product reviews under the channel AppleTrack, teamed up with graphic designer @ConceptCentral. Together, they’ve created renders depicting what the Apple Watch X might look like based on rumors and leaks.

The renders suggest a slimmer design for the Watch X, potentially 10-15% thinner than current models. The Digital Crown is expected to remain, with the possibility of an additional Action Button similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.

The biggest design shakeup might be the new magnetic band system. This would mean saying goodbye to compatibility with older bands, but it offers benefits beyond just looks. The current band system takes up precious space inside the watch. Magnetic bands eliminate this bulk, potentially freeing up space for a thinner design and even more features packed inside.

While microLED displays were previously rumored, OLED technology seems more likely due to cost considerations. However, the new OLED panel is expected to be brighter and more power-efficient. This could translate to longer battery life, a longstanding user concern.

Health features have always been a core aspect of the Apple Watch. The Watch X might be the first to offer blood pressure monitoring, although blood oxygen monitoring remains uncertain due to ongoing patent disputes. The watch might also feature sleep apnea monitoring.

It’s crucial to remember that this information is based on leaks and rumors. While some predictions may materialize, a healthy dose of skepticism is advised. Stay tuned for further updates.

TCL T7K TV

TCL T7K TV Specifications:

The T7K TV features a 4K (3840 x 2160) 144Hz True XDR Mini LED display with 512 independent dimming zones, enabling precise control over brightness and contrast. This translates to deeper blacks, brighter whites, and an overall enhanced HDR experience. Additionally, the inclusion of optical imaging micro lenses further refines light control for a more natural picture.

Packing a punch in terms of brightness, the T7K reaches a peak brightness of 1600 nits, coupled with a remarkable 16 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio. This translates to vibrant visuals with intricate details in both bright and dark scenes.

TCL emphasizes the T7K’s color accuracy, achieved through their Quantum Dot Pro 2024 technology. This tech promises 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring a wide range of realistic and vivid colors. The manufacturer also claims the quantum dots will retain their color fidelity for up to 10 years.

The TCL T7K is powered by the Linyao Chip M2 and TCL’s TXR Mini LED image enhancement chip, which together enhance picture quality through 20+ image quality calibration algorithms. These chips enable advanced features such as intelligent local light control, light and shadow synchronization, and AI-enhanced color adjustments. In terms of storage, the TV comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.

The TV comes with no boot ads and an ultra-fast boot time of 0.7 seconds, similar to modern smartphones. This enhances the overall user interface and interaction experience, making the TV as responsive as it is visually stunning.

In terms of audio, the TCL T7K is equipped with a 2.1 channel Hi-Fi professional audio system, including five units with a total output of 70W and an independent 20W subwoofer. This setup delivers high-fidelity sound with crisp highs and deep, powerful bass, creating a cinema-like auditory experience. It also features Dolby Atmos technology which further enriches the audio quality, ensuring full-range AI sound field adjustments and immersive, panoramic sound.

The T7K isn’t just about performance; it boasts a sleek and stylish design. The ultra-thin integrated design with a near bezel-less display contributes to a premium look that seamlessly integrates into any home environment.

Connectivity options on the T7K include 4 HDMI ports (with 2 supporting HDMI 2.1 and eARC) with 4K at 144Hz support, a USB-A 3.0 port, a USB-A 2.0 port, an AV port, an RJ45 port, an RF antenna input port, and a digital audio output port.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Leaked Renders Make It Hard To Distinguish From The Apple Watch

Huawei recently unveiled the Pura 70 series smartphones in China. The lineup comprises of standard, pro, pro plus, and ultra models. The new Pura phones marked the end of the P series after 12 years. Alongside, the brand was also expected to launch a new wearable device – the Huawei Watch Fit 3 which did not arrive. It had previously bagged SIRIM and SDPPI certifications. Now, the device has emerged in leaked renders shared by WinFuture’s Roland Quandt.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 renders reveal an Apple Watch clone

Apple is the market leader in the smartwatch segment. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s smartwatches have consistently maintained the same design for years. While OEMs try to distinguish their products from competitors, Huawei is taking a different approach by taking inspiration from Apple for the upcoming Watch Fit 3.

As per the leaked images shared by Roland Quandt, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 looks same to same as the Apple Watch. It has a square dial with rounded corners. The rotating digital crown at the top right side and another physical button below mimic the Apple Watch’s design. Additionally, the device features a band without any traditional lugs. All those design characteristics make the Huawei Watch Fit 3 look like any Apple smartwatch. It would be very hard for other people to tell if it’s an Apple Watch or its clone.

The only way to distinguish the Huawei Watch Fit 3 from the Apple Watch is that the former has slightly thicker screen bezels and a different metal frame. However, this is only possible upon closer inspection.

We can expect the Huawei Watch Fit 3 to launch in the coming weeks.
