Huawei Watch Fit 3 Leaked Renders Make It Hard To Distinguish From The Apple Watch

Huawei recently unveiled the Pura 70 series smartphones in China. The lineup comprises of standard, pro, pro plus, and ultra models. The new Pura phones marked the end of the P series after 12 years. Alongside, the brand was also expected to launch a new wearable device – the Huawei Watch Fit 3 which did not arrive. It had previously bagged SIRIM and SDPPI certifications. Now, the device has emerged in leaked renders shared by WinFuture’s Roland Quandt.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 renders reveal an Apple Watch clone

Apple is the market leader in the smartwatch segment. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s smartwatches have consistently maintained the same design for years. While OEMs try to distinguish their products from competitors, Huawei is taking a different approach by taking inspiration from Apple for the upcoming Watch Fit 3.

As per the leaked images shared by Roland Quandt, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 looks same to same as the Apple Watch. It has a square dial with rounded corners. The rotating digital crown at the top right side and another physical button below mimic the Apple Watch’s design. Additionally, the device features a band without any traditional lugs. All those design characteristics make the Huawei Watch Fit 3 look like any Apple smartwatch. It would be very hard for other people to tell if it’s an Apple Watch or its clone.

The only way to distinguish the Huawei Watch Fit 3 from the Apple Watch is that the former has slightly thicker screen bezels and a different metal frame. However, this is only possible upon closer inspection.

We can expect the Huawei Watch Fit 3 to launch in the coming weeks.

Breaking: Google Pixel 8a price leaked, and it costs 18% higher than Pixel 7a

Pixel 8a leaks are everywhere! Renders have been floating around, and Google even accidentally revealed the design in an official Google Fi ad. We pretty much know what the phone will be like, but the price was a mystery… until now!

Tipster Paras (via PassionateGeekz) has spotted the smartphone at a Canadian retailer, spilling the beans on its cost.

As seen in the screengrabs above, the 128GB model of the Pixel 8a will be priced at CA$ 708.99, while the higher-tier 256GB will cost CA$ 792.99.

The Pixel 7a launched at CA$ 599 in Canada for the base 128GB model. So, the Pixel 8a is roughly 18% more expensive than its predecessor. However, the retailer’s listing doesn’t spill the beans on any other details about the smartphone.

Google Pixel 8a Specifications (Rumored)

The design of the Pixel 8a has been revealed through multiple leaks and renders, showing it will look nearly identical to the Pixel 8 with a familiar visor camera bump and rounded corners. It will come in multiple colors including Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint.

The biggest upgrade for the Pixel 8a’s display is the jump to a 120Hz refresh rate, a first for a Pixel A-series phone. The display will also be a 6.1-inch OLED panel with a 1400-nit peak brightness.

Google Pixel 8a

Like the higher-end Pixel 8, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the Google Tensor G3 processor but an underclocked version. It will also have 8GB of RAM and the Titan M security chip. The phone will boot with Android 14.

The camera is expected to use the same sensors as the Pixel 7a with a 64MP main sensor, 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 13MP selfie camera. However, it may benefit from some of the new Pixel 8 camera features like Best Take and Magic Eraser.

Battery life has been a weak spot for Pixel A-series phones, but the Pixel 8a is rumored to have a larger 4,500mAh battery with faster 27W wired charging compared to the Pixel 7a’s 18W.

It will also support 7.5W wireless charging. There are also rumors of an improved battery stats feature that will show details like date of manufacture, charging cycles, and battery health.

Exynos 2500 powering the Galaxy S25 series will outperform Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on other phones

Samsung‘s Exynos processors have historically faced criticism for lagging behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon offerings in terms of power efficiency and performance.

However, a fresh new rumor by PandaFlashPro on X suggests a significant improvement with the upcoming Exynos 2500.

According to the leak, the Exynos 2500 could surpass Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in both power efficiency and raw performance.

The reason for it is said to be that Samsung is reportedly using a more advanced second-generation 3nm fabrication process for Exynos 2500. Whereas, Qualcomm is expected to stick with a 4nm process for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

A smaller manufacturing process typically translates to better power efficiency and better performance due to increased transistor density.

So while the Exynos 2400 offered comparable performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Exynos 2500 could be more improved than its competitor.

Moreover, according to previous rumors, there also possibility of two Exynos 2500 variants: the Exynos 2500-A and Exynos 2500-B. The Exynos 2500-A is rumored to be an octa-core processor for smartphones like the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.

The Exynos 2500-B, on the other hand, is speculated to have a 10-core CPU and might cater to devices with more demanding needs like tablets and laptops in the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Book series.

There’s also speculation about Samsung possibly using Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) instead of its own Neural Processing Unit (NPU) in the Exynos 2500. However, these claims are far too premature to be taken as fact.

The Exynos 2500 appears to be a strong contender for the top mobile processors in 2025. If the leaks hold true, it could offer superior performance and power efficiency compared to its Qualcomm counterpart.

However, it’s important to remember that these are just rumors, and we’ll likely get official details closer to the Exynos 2500’s launch.

MediaTek’s new Dimensity 6300 to power next wave of affordable 5G smartphones

MediaTek is wading into the crowded mid-range market with the Dimensity 6300, a new chipset aimed at powering the next wave of affordable 5G smartphones.

The chip is manufactured on a 6nm process and offers a modest upgrade over its predecessor, the Dimensity 6100+. MediaTek says a 10% bump in CPU performance thanks to two faster Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz. The remaining six cores are Cortex-A55 clocked at 2GHz. Graphics processing is handled by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, a familiar choice in this tier.

MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Launch

There’s also an integrated 5G modem compliant with the 3GPP Release 16 standard. More noteworthy might be MediaTek’s claims of improved power efficiency with their UltraSave 3.0+ technology.  The company suggests users can expect a 13% to 30% improvement over competitors in sub-6GHz 5G connections.

Moreover, the Dimensity 6300 supports Full HD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera capabilities are mid-range as well, with support for up to 108MP sensors and dual 16MP configurations.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), but storage remains limited to UFS 2.2 and RAM is capped at LPDDR4x.

The first smartphone confirmed to utilize the Dimensity 6300 is the Realme C65 5G, expected to launch later this month. With MediaTek leading the charge, we can expect more manufacturers to release similar devices, aiming to offer affordable 5G connectivity.

Although not revolutionary, the Dimensity 6300 is a step forward in making 5G accessible to a broader audience.

Apple has Taken Down WhatsApp and Threads from China App Store

Apple has removed WhatsApp and Threads, two messaging apps owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), from its App Store in China. This follows a government order citing national security concerns, according to Reuters.

The apps were removed based on their national security concerns

Both WhatsApp, a popular end-to-end encrypted messaging app, and Threads, a newer social networking app, are no longer available for download on iPhones in China. While Apple confirmed the removal in a statement, details remain scarce. “The Cyberspace Administration of China ordered the removal of these apps from the China storefront based on their national security concerns,” Apple said. Meta declined to comment beyond referring inquiries to Apple.

Apple Generative AI News Publisher Deals

According to app tracking firms Qimai and AppMagic, this move extends beyond WhatsApp and Threads. Reports suggest that Signal and Telegram, two other messaging apps known for their focus on privacy, have also been removed from the Chinese App Store. While Apple hasn’t confirmed these additional removals, the AppleCensorship website, which tracks App Store changes in China, lists both Signal and Telegram as “disappeared.”

While Telegram hasn’t responded to inquiries about its iOS app status in China, Signal clarifies the situation. “Signal was already blocked in China by the country’s Great Firewall,” explains Signal president Meredith Whittaker. “While Signal may have been available to download in the past, Signal registrations and messages are apparently blocked.” This suggests that the App Store removal may have minimal impact, as users in China would still face hurdles to use the app even if downloaded. The extent of China’s recent crackdown on messaging apps remains unclear. However, it highlights the ongoing tension between national security concerns and user privacy, particularly for encrypted communication platforms.

Pixel 9 Pro leaks in real-life for the first time: Check out the design [Gallery]

Google is set to release the Pixel 9 series later this year, reportedly featuring three devices: the Pixel 9, a more powerful but compact Pixel 9 Pro, and a larger flagship, the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

We have seen the renders of all three devices, and now real-life images of the Pixel 9 Pro have popped up online. The images, shared by a Russian website named Rozetked, supposedly showcase the Pixel 9 Pro’s design alongside some potential specs.

First things first, the phone looks a bit worse for wear in the images, with visible cracks on the back. But they still reveal a lot about the device.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Real Life images

Compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen, this Pixel appears smaller, suggesting it could be a 6.1-inch display. What strongly hints that it’s a Pixel 9 Pro is its triple camera setup on the back.

The regular Pixel 9 will stick with the dual-camera setup like its predecessor, while the rumored Pixel 9 XL is said to have a triple camera setup, paired with a 6.7-inch screen. So the leaked image certainly seems like of Pixel 9 Pro.

Nonetheless, one image reveals the phone in fast boot mode, showing its codename “caiman” and some key specs. These details align with earlier reports associating this codename with the Pixel 9 Pro.

Interestingly, the leaked info suggests a big RAM upgrade for the 9 Pro. The unit packs 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a jump from the Pixel 8 Pro’s max of 12GB. It seems storage, however, will remain at only 128GB.

More photos of the phone give a 360-degree view of the phone. The design seems to have flat sides meeting the front and back with a smooth curve.

There’s a cutout on the top, likely for the mmWave antenna, similar to the Pixel 8 Pro.

It’s important to note that these are leaks. While they match earlier renders, it’s wise to be cautious.

Redmi Note 13 Series HyperOS Update India

HyperOS update on the Redmi Note 13 series brings “Comprehensive Refactoring,” a technology that optimizes task scheduling and distributes workloads across the phone’s various processing units.

It should lead to smoother performance, particularly in demanding tasks like gaming. The update also claims to improve power consumption during gameplay.

For instance, there’s a customizable lock screen with different styles, backgrounds, and widgets. The control center now features a label-free layout for easier access to essential functions.

Moreover, for photography enthusiasts, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G has received a camera upgrade with the new OS update. However, Xiaomi hasn’t provided specific details about these improvements or whether they apply only to the Pro Plus model.

HyperOS also introduces new app icons and animations inspired by Xiaomi’s new “ALIVE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY” design philosophy. The animations are now lighter and more responsive, according to Xiaomi.

The File Manager app has also been redesigned with better categorization options for improved organization and file management. Weather information is now presented with new animations that accurately reflect current conditions.

Apart from these features, Xiaomi notes that additional optimizations have been made to the underlying software stack of the Redmi Note 13 5G series.

The rollout of HyperOS to the Redmi Note 13 5G series is likely staged, so it may take some time for all users to receive the update.

Tesla Recalls Almost 4,000 Cybertrucks Due to an Accelerator Pedal Issue

This time, Tesla isn’t shipping more Cybertrucks out, but in fact, the company is recalling nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks due to a potentially serious problem with the accelerator pedal. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the pedal’s cover may become dislodged and stuck in the floor trim, causing the vehicle to accelerate even when the driver lifts their foot. Now that’s risky.

The cause of the issue is too much lubricant on the pedal cover

Videos circulating online show the culprit: excessive lubricant on the pedal cover. This allows it to slide upwards and wedge itself in place, preventing the pedal from fully returning to its resting position. This could lead to unintended acceleration, posing a safety risk.

Tesla has confirmed they will replace or repair the faulty accelerator pedals at no cost to owners. While official recall notices will be mailed in June, concerned Cybertruck drivers can contact Tesla now at +1-877-798-3752 and reference recall service number SB-24-33-003 to schedule a service appointment.

This recall comes amidst a wave of recent news for Tesla Cybertruck owners. Deliveries have been delayed, and many were likely informed of the upcoming recall explanation for this delay. This news follows Tesla’s first year-over-year decline in deliveries since 2020, with a 20% drop compared to the previous quarter. The company has also implemented layoffs to cut costs and boost productivity. While this recent period has been challenging, Tesla has signaled a focus on efficiency throughout 2024, with CEO Elon Musk previously hinting at slower sales growth for the year.

Realme P1 Pro or Honor X9b: Which is a better pick at ₹25,000?

The Realme P1 Pro has been recently launched in the Indian market, boasting impressive features within the sub-25000 price range. This phone faces tough competition from the Honor X9b, which entered the Indian market a couple of months ago.

Both devices share the same 5G processor, but they differ in several aspects that are important to consider when choosing between the two.

Realme P1 Pro vs Honor X9b

1. Design & display

The recently launched Realme P1 Pro and the Honor X9b both feature distinct designs with the only thing common between them being their circular camera islands and their slightly curved display. The P1 Pro is available in appealing color options, while the Honor X9b has a more premium look.

You get a higher-resolution 1.5K (2652 x 1200 pixels) OLED display on the Honor X9b, while the P1 Pro features an FHD+ (1080 x 2412 pixels). Both of these phones offer a 120Hz refresh rate, however, the X9b is slightly brighter with 1200 nits peak brightness, compared to 950 nits on the P1 Pro. The X9b also has some special features like its Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display, which features a double-strengthened glass with shock-absorbing materials, making it resistant to cracking from drops up to 1.5 meters.

2. Performance & software

Both the P1 Pro and the X9b use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, which made its debut in September 2022. This processor is manufactured by using Samsung’s 4nm process, and it yields an AnTuTu score of around 575K.

The processors on both of these devices are paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, so you won’t notice any differences in performance. That being said, one major difference between the two is their software.

While the Honor X9b debuted with Android 13 and is yet to receive its Android 14 upgrade, the P1 Pro has launched with Android 14 out of the box with a promise of 3 OS updates, and 4 years of security updates. In contrast, Honor has not confirmed these details, however, we expect the device to get around 2 major OS updates.

3. Battery & fast charging

This category is a mixed bag. On one hand, the Honor X9b comes with a larger 5,800mAh battery, compared to the 5,000mAh battery on the P1 Pro. However, the P1 Pro features a 45W wired fast charging, compared to the 35W fast charging on the X9b.

The disparity in fast charging capabilities isn’t significant enough to warrant choosing a phone with a smaller 800mAh battery. Thus, customers who prioritize battery life might prefer the X9b.

4. Cameras

Perhaps the biggest difference between the smartphones is seen in the camera department. The Realme P1 Pro comes with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary camera sensor that offers optical image stabilization. The other camera on the back is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens.

In contrast, the Honor X9b features a 108-megapixel main camera with up to 3x in-sensor zoom, as well as a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

While the X9b’s primary camera is satisfactory, it doesn’t quite match up to the Realme P1 Pro’s LYT-600 sensor. The P1 Pro’s optical image stabilization (OIS) improves zoom shots. In terms of ultra-wide camera performance, the P1 Pro’s 8-megapixel sensor offers better detail and sharpness compared to the X9b’s 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

As for videography, both smartphones offer support for 4K 30fps recording, however, the P1 Pro is capable of up to 120FPS recording in 1080p, while the Honor X9b tops out at 60FPS at 1080p. On the front, both smartphones offer 16-megapixel selfie cameras capable of 4K 30FPS video recording. Quality aside, the Honor X9b offers some special features for vlogging, like multi-video mode and AI noise canceling for videos.

5. Pricing

The Realme P1 comes with a starting price of ₹21,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, whereas the Honor X9b comes in a sole 8GB + 256GB configuration which is currently going for ₹24,999. The P1 Pro also has an 8GB + 256GB configuration priced at ₹22,999, making it more affordable overall.

In conclusion, both devices are capable, but the Realme P1 Pro has an edge with its camera system, while also being more budget-friendly than the Honor X9b. The X9b has its own positives, such as a drop-resistant higher resolution display and a larger battery. However, its camera performance is somewhat lacking compared to the competition. If camera quality isn’t your top priority, the X9b is worth considering for its premium look, superior display, and battery life, even at a slightly higher price.
