Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro leak: Return of the Pro with a large battery

Samsung is currently working on its next gen wearables, which is the Galaxy Watch 7 series. We have already covered various rumors and reports regarding the upcoming smartwatches. Now, a fresh report has hinted at its battery specs. So let’s have a look.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro Battery

Galaxy Watch 6

To recall, the South Korean tech giant is expected to launch three models of the Galaxy Watch 7, namely SM-L30x, SM-L31x, and the SM-L70x. One of these models will reportedly include the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro. If this is true, then Samsung is bringing back the Pro edition of its smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro was the last one, skipping an iteration with the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup.

Now according to a GalaxyClub report, the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro is one of the three upcoming models. The leak revealed that the SM-L70x model will pack a battery pack that carries the product number EB-BL705ABY, which has a rated capacity of 578mAh. In comparison, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro launched with a battery rating of 573mAh. This could mean that a Galaxy Watch 7 Pro is in the works, with a typical capacity of 590mAh.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro

This battery pack was recently certified in the brand’s home country of South Korea as well. The smaller  SM-L30x and SM-L31x models are likely the regular Watch 7 variants, which will likely offer smaller batteries as well. It is worth noting that the Galaxy Watch 7 Pro moniker has yet to be officially confirmed, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now.

Virtual data has become quite essential, and without any backup, you’re already on the brink of losing it. Well, if your use case matches, then it’s worth giving a shot at the Stellar Data Recovery for MacOS utility. With the successful launch of the Windows Data Recovery Tool, Stellar is here with a utility for Mac. The new Stellar Data Recovery for Mac is fully compatible with all the new and old versions of the OS. Support for new macOS versions and fixes for present iterations keeps improving with each update. We are reviewing the latest version of Stellar Mac Data Recovery.

There could be several instances where the user lost important documents or other files related to work. The reason could be the presence of malware, adware, or inadvertently deleting the files. In such a case, the recovery tools could become a lifesaver. Let’s see how the Stellar Data Mac Recovery tool fares in the actual recovery process.

Installation

Stellar Data Recovery for Mac can be installed easily by dragging and dropping the file into the Apps folder. You should wait for a few seconds for the installation process to complete. The user should open the app and enter the product key if they have already purchased it. Now, you’re ready to start the recovery process.

Our Machine Environment

We used the MacBook Air M2 with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD to test the software. It is running on Mac OS 14.1 Sonoma. We have tested the software by deleting some files on the MacBook, and then recovering them using the Stellar Data Recovery Software. It can be used on different SSDs, HDDs, and flash drives formatted with APFS/HFS+/NTFS/ExFAT.

Why We Recommend Stellar Data Mac Recovery Tool

There are several reasons and features that are quite useful while recovering data from the MacBook or any external drive. We are listing some of these features, which users may also find useful:

Compatible with multiple drives and formats: The Stellar Data Mac Recovery tool is compatible with almost all storage drives, like SSDs, HDDs, and NVMes formatted with APFS/HFS+/NTFS/ExFAT. This vast support improves the compatibility and obviously enhances the use cases while using it on MacOS.

Ability to Recover Non-Booting Macs: Using the Mac’s recovery mode, the user can recover non-booting MacBook Air/Pro, Mac Mini, and other MacOS devices. The smooth recovery process further improves the recovery process.

Ability to Recover Without Security Integrity Protection: MacOS is known for its security and data protection. The layer to resist any data theft, which is known as security protection, needs to be disabled in order to recover from traditional recovery tools. but, Stellar Data Recovery offers recovery protection without disabling SIP. It uses full disk access permission to scan and recover the selected files or data types.

Pause and Resume Scan: With the feature to resume and pause, the user can easily manage the Mac resources more effectively. While using the Mac, and performing CPU-intensive tasks, the user can easily pause the scan and continue the task. This way, the user can do any work simultaneously, and even save time. The Stellar Data Recovery tool possesses this kind of convenience feature.

Additional Features:

Drive health monitoring and cloning: It can improve the performance, health, and SMART attributes of all the drives connected to the Mac.

Disk imaging: The technique improves and enhances the speed of recovery.

Guide to Recovering Mac Data Using Stellar Mac Data Recovery Utility

There are some preferences that the user should set before starting the recovery process. Let’s dive into the steps, and see the preferences:

  1. Select the type of file the user would want to recover: documents, emails, videos, videos, photos, or Recover Everything.
  2. Upon pressing Next, the user should select Drive – Internal Local Drive, External SSD, HDD, or Flash Drive. Now, press Scan.
  3. The process will start, and the progress bar indicator will show the total progress. (Note: The user can switch between preview functionality for fast scanning.).
  4. Depending on the size of the location, it will take time. For example, in our case, the MacBook M2 Air took around 6-7 minutes to scan 256GB of SD storage. (Note: the time may increase if you scan a larger than 256GB storage device.).
  5. Upon completion, filter the file or folder you would like to recover.
  6. Now, the selected file or folder will be recovered, and the duration may vary depending on the size.

Note: There are certain settings that the user would want to configure upon completion, like sorting the list as per file type or size. The user can also preview the files before resizing them.

Verdict:

Stellar Data Mac Recovery is quite a useful tool for restoring inadvertently deleted files and folders. The efficacy of the app to restore files is quite high compared to the competition. Given the price, it is purely value for money if we compare it with competition in the market. The tool managed to recover ~90% of the files that were deleted.

Pricing:

The pricing starts at $89.99, which brings the ability to restore unlimited files. It can recover persistently deleted files, and recover data from non-bootable Macs.

In total, there are three different plans: professional, premium, and technician. The pricing starts at $89.99 for the Professional plan, the Premium plan costs around $99.99, and the Technician plan is available at $199.

In the Professional plan, the company offers permanently deleted data, and data from crashed or non-booting Macs. The plan also offers the ability to recover from the time machine and Bootcamp partition.

The Premium Plan, which retails for $99.99, offers the ability to repair corrupt photos and videos and perform single-click bulk repairs on photos and videos.

The last and most powerful plan is Technician, which offers the ability to recover virtual machines and also supports Linux data recovery from the Linux File System.

Overall, it is a good choice among the data recovery tools for macOS devices. For more details and instructions about Mac data recovery software, please check out the article here.

Free Google Search could ask you for a fee soon for its new AI features

For a while, Google has been experimenting with new AI search features for its Google Search. One thing to note here, is some of the features like the Search Generative Experience don’t really go well with the concept of an ad-supported web.

Aside from content creators, Google also gets a significant proportion of its revenue from ads. Additionally, there remains the investment behind the development of AI models which end consumers are benefiting from. While Google intended to (and is successful) make the search experience better, it also brings questions about the sustainability of the system. Notably, the traditional ad-supported Google Search will remain accessible for free.

Google Search without its new AI features will remain available for free

The Financial Times reports (paywalled) that Google could offer AI-powered search features with a price tag in the near future. Sources familiar with Google’s plans suggest that the AI-powered features could become a part of Google’s existing subscription services such as Google One.

Interestingly, the report claims that even the paid experience won’t exclude ads. It indicates the importance of ads in Google’s business model still to date. So why is Google striving to build and implement such features that interfere with its business model in the first place?

Well, these seem to be intended to remain the go-to choice for every individual. While some will be willing to pay for an AI-enriched helpful search experience, most won’t probably want to pay for what they have used for free so far. A survey shows that more than 70% of people are willing to stay with the free plan.

Speaking of Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE) it’s currently in an experimental phase and as Google notes, it’s not ready for production-grade services yet.

Many Galaxy S23 Ultra users report touch screen not working after the OneUI 6.1 update

Samsung began to roll out the OneUI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S23 series on March 28. Since then many users have reported that the touch function wasn’t working on their device. Interestingly, the S Pen remains functional and users can operate the phone using it.

Galaxy S23 Ultra OneUI 6.1 touch problem

Numerous Galaxy S23 Ultra have shared their issues in Samsung’s official community forums. All of them noted that the issue they were facing started appearing right after the update.

One of the many users reporting about the issue

Notably, all units aren’t facing the same issues. While some units are missing some touches, others aren’t responding to it at all.

One user noted on Reddit that with OneUI 6.1, his Galaxy S23 Ultra responds to the touch, but not the first one as he swipes on the lock screen. Another user noted that his phone has become totally irresponsible to touch. “After version 6.1 (14) on my phone, the touch screen is no longer responding to a finger touch but works with S Pen, how do I fix this?”

There are many other users as well who reported that their S23 Ultra is no longer responding to touches, while the S Pen remains functional. Notably, restarting the phone doesn’t seem to solve the problem. Another user tweeted about facing problems with the under-display fingerprint sensor.

While we don’t have the exact percentage of units facing the problems, there are numerous reports already about the matter. And as the problem is rendering the devices unusable up to some extent (thank god Samsung didn’t skip the S Pen) it is definitely not one of the small inconveniences that many users will just ignore.

Interestingly, some of the users facing the problem noted that they have replaced the screen before, which wasn’t made by Samsung. That means the phone isn’t registering third-party equipment.

Another unintended consequence of a hastily developed build or something else?

While it remains unclear whether all affected units contain third-party (unauthorized) replacement parts, and not all units have become completely unresponsive, Samsung may be gradually implementing measures akin to its competitor, when it comes to software locking components. This issue regarding the OneUI 6.1 update to the S23 could signify a deliberate move rather than another unintended consequence of a hastily developed build.

Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait for the company’s response to the matter and we will update as something noteworthy happens.

Poco’s first tablet to have Stylus support, reveals certification body

Last month, we shared the news that Poco is working on its first tablet. The device made its appearance on the European EEC certification platform with the product name “Tablet brand POCO model,” clearly revealing that it is a tablet and not any other device.

Since then, not much detail has surfaced about the device. However, a stylus under the Poco brand has now surfaced on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification database.

The stylus bears the model number 2407CMPBCG and the name “POCO Stylus”. The certification also gave a basic mockup of the stylus’ design.

poco tablet stylus

The Poco Stylus has a design reminiscent of popular styluses like the Apple Pencil. According to the listing, it will operate within the 2402-2480MHz frequency range and is expected to run software version Kwak_Pen_FW_User_V0.0.6.

More importantly, the stylus has a model number unique to it and not similar to other stylus on Xiaomi’s portfolio. For instance, the Xiaomi Stylus Pen has model number M2107K81PC, and its Stylus Pen (2nd Gen) has the model number 23031MPADC.

So it looks like this isn’t a simple rebranding of an existing Xiaomi stylus pen, but an entirely new offering from POCO.

As for Poco’s maiden tablet venture, details remain scarce at this time. It’s plausible that akin to many Poco smartphones, the tablet could be a rebrand of an existing Xiaomi or Redmi tablet model. However, this speculation remains just that—an educated guess—from our side.

Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated with any new developments regarding the Poco tablet.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro dummy units leak revealing all the design changes

The iPhone 16 series has been making headlines lately with numerous leaks and rumors detailing possible changes for the upcoming lineup. Recently, CAD renders and smartphone cases have surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of what the new iPhones might look like.

Now dummy units, typically used by case manufacturers to ensure compatibility, have also appeared online, offering an early peek at the iPhone 16 series.

Shared by Sonny Dickson on X/Twitter, the images reveal the designs of all four models in the iPhone 16 lineup. As expected, there are noticeable design alterations compared to the previous iPhone 15 lineup.

Significant changes are in store for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The images show that Apple is switching the camera alignment of these models to a vertical setup from the diagonal one seen in previous versions. The change is intended to enable spatial video recording for Vision Pro.

Additionally, the Action button, previously exclusive to Pro iPhone models, seems to be present across all iPhone 16s. We can also see a new Capture button on the device’s right side.

Rumors suggest that the button will employ a mechanical design with a capacitive surface for gesture-based zoom controls.

The dummy units also show that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be slightly larger than the base iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. While not confirmed, there’s speculation that the Pro models may see a slight increase in display size, reaching 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches for the Pro and Pro Max, respectively.

Apple is expected to launch iPhone 16 series smartphones sometime in September. As with any leaks and rumors, it’s essential to keep in mind that these details are not yet confirmed and may change before the official reveal.

Redmi K80 series is rumored to boast Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 along with a 5500 mAh battery

It offered a 6.67-inch 2K (1440 x 3200) AMOLED panel that goes up to 4000nits for only 2,499 Yuan (~$352) at launch. It builds up anticipation for the upcoming Redmi K80 series.

Redmi K70

According to previous rumors from tipster “Smart Pikachu” (translated from Chinese), the company is focusing on premium hardware for the Redmi K series, and as a result, there could be only two models this time – the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro. The successor of the more affordable Redmi K80E could be launched as a Redmi Note series device.

Now the tipster has noted that the Redmi K80 series development progress has been accelerated. The device will reportedly boast a 5500 mAh battery which is 500mAh more than that of the predecessor.

Now, a new Lenovo laptop has undergone Geekbench testing again, but this time under a different model name, 4810UV0100. And surprisingly, the results seem promising this time around.

The latest Geekbench 6 results show a significant 49% performance improvement compared to the previous benchmark result.

The new Lenovo laptop, equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor, achieved a single-core score of 2,427 and a multi-core score of 14,254 while operating on a “Balanced” power plan. Score-wise, it’s a substantial gain from 1,628 and 11,392, respectively.

Lenovo Snapdragon X Elite chip laptop

There could be several factors contributing to this sudden surge in performance of the SoC. Geekbench 6 may have made optimizations that work more effectively with this chipset.

Additionally, the test Lenovo laptop might have a refined cooling system resulting in a better score overall. However, it’s important to note that Geekbench’s short test duration may not fully assess the sustained performance capabilities of the device.

Another possibility is that as the Snapdragon X Elite is nearing its release, software tailored for the chipset may have been better optimized.

Snapdragon X Elite

Qualcomm says the X Elite will come in 23W to 80W power options. The recent benchmark shows the laptop running on a Balanced power plan. So it’s difficult to determine the exact Thermal Design Power (TDP) of the chipset at the moment.

Furthermore, it appears that Lenovo may be testing multiple models with the Snapdragon X Elite chip, as this is the second Lenovo laptop to appear on Geekbench featuring the new ARM chip.

Vivo X100 Ultra with satellite communication could be launching soon

In November, Vivo unveiled the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro smartphones in China. Both phones feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset. While Vivo fans were expecting the Vivo X100 Pro+ equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip to go official with the X100 and X100 Pro, the company did not unveil it at that time. Several reports have claimed that the phone has been renamed the Vivo X100 Ultra and is scheduled to debut in the second quarter of this year. Vivo’s Vice President for Product, Huang Tao, confirmed via Weibo that the company will soon launch phones with satellite communication support. This suggests that the X100 Ultra’s launch may not be far away.

Vivo to soon launch satellite communications enabled phones

Several reports have claimed that the Vivo X100 Ultra, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, will have support for two-way satellite communication. This will allow the smartphone to compete with the likes of the Find X7 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra phones that support satellite connectivity.

In remote areas like the outdoors, forests, deserts, oceans, or mountains where traditional communication signals are unavailable, individuals can establish direct connections with satellites using their mobile phones for emergency communication. Satellite connectivity can be a very useful tool in such challenging environments.

According to reports, the Vivo X100 Ultra will have a 50-megapixel LYT-900 main camera with support for variable aperture and OIS. The camera setup is expected to include an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto camera, and a periscope telephoto camera. Especially, the latter is said to offer a 200-megapixel resolution with support for a 4.3x optical zoom, up to a 200x digital zoom, and a focal length of 100mm.

Apart from the Vivo X100 Ultra, the company is said to be working on the X100s series of smartphones. Reports suggest that the X100s and X100s Pro will come equipped with the upcoming Dimensity 9300+ chipset. It is likely that the X100 Ultra and X100s series may debut in May in China.
