It is an amazing device sold at the right price and it is available in the global market, but there is to consider that it has a lot of rivals in the global market and it will not be easy for it to succeed. One of the most interesting rivals is the Motorola Edge 30, equipped with upper-midrange specifications and available with a more affordable price tag. Design

When it comes to the design, we can not avoid giving the gold medal to the Nothing phone (1). This device is a revolution, it comes with a transparent back housing a total of 160 LEDs which can be used for several things and customized. You can use those multiple lights as notification LEDs, but they can also tell you the charging status of your device while it is charging. Further, they can sync with your ringtone, and more. The handset comes with the IP53 certification making it dust resistant and splash resistant, it is built with a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and an aluminum frame. The Motorola Edge 30 is one of the thinnest and most lightweight smartphones of 2022, but these are the only interesting points of its design as it is definitely uglier and built with a plastic body.

Display

The Nothing phone (1) and the Motorola Edge 30 are equipped with amazing displays. The former has an OLED panel that is able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.55 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 just like the glass back. The Motorola Edge 30 has an AMOLED display with one billion colors, a diagonal of 6.5 inches, the HDR10+ certification, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The most important difference between these two panels is the refresh rate, higher on the Motorola Edge 30. Both the handsets feature in-display fingerprint readers and stereo speakers for an improved audio experience, but they lack a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Specs & Software

The hardware departments of these two phones are very similar. They are both powered by the Snapdragon 778G Plus mobile platform by Qualcomm. It is an octa-core chipset built at 6 nm composed of a Cortex A78 CPU with a max frequency of 2.5 GHz, three Cortex A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex A55 CPUs with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, paired with an Adreno 642L GPU. What makes the difference is the memory configuration: the Nothing phone (1) offers up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the Motorola Edge 30 stops at 8 GB of RAM. The Nothing device runs Nothing OS, very interesting customization with a minimalistic look close to stock Android. But the Motorola Edge 30 has a UI close to stock Android as well.

Camera

Even when it comes to the cameras, the differences between these two phones are just marginal. On the rear side, they both have a 50 MP main sensor with OIS (the Sony IMX766, as you could already expect) and a 50 MP ultrawide camera. But the Motorola Edge 30 adds a 2 MP macro camera, even though it is useless in most of the possible scenarios. Further, the Edge 30 wins the camera comparison because it comes with a superior selfie camera sporting a 32 MP resolution.

Battery

A very important advantage of the Nothing Phone (1) if compared to the Motorola Edge 30 is the battery. Its design is thicker and heavier, but the phone comes with a bigger lithium unit sporting a capacity of 4500 mAh. The Motorola Edge 30 is one of the thinnest and most lightweight phones out there, but its battery capacity is below the average with just 4020 mAh. Both phones feature 33W fast charging, but the Nothing phone (1) adds fast wireless charging with a power of 15W, while the Edge 30 can only be charged with a cable.

Price

The starting price of the Nothing Phone (1) in the European market is €499/$499 and it is currently its street price too. The Motorola Edge 30 can currently be purchased for less than €400/$400. The Nothing phone (1) wins the comparison due to its better design, bigger battery, and wireless charging. But the Edge 30 has a more affordable price, as well as a better selfie camera and a thinner and lighter design. Which one would you pick?

Okai Neon Lite ES10 folding e-scooter with 30km range announced

OKAI has announced the Neon Lite ES10 electric kick scooter with a range of 30km and a top speed of 25km/h. OKAI has started accepting pre-orders for the new folding e-scooter in Europe although its release date is not specified. A $20 deposit for pre-orders and a $50 discount on the total price will be given.

The Neon Lite is a lightweight folding e-scooter at just 15kg. It is powered by a 300W motor which will likely deliver top speeds up to 25km/h. The kick scooter features color lighting and IP55 protection. The scooter has a mount on its handlebars for a smartphone. The Neon Lite ES10 LCD can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth to view ride and performance information on the go. The accompanying smartphone app can be used to control settings and optimize the riding experience.

According to OKAI, interested customers can sign up and enter a waitlist to pre-order the new e-scooter. The company is mum on the price of the scooter at this time, but this and more details are expected to be available in the coming weeks.

The OKAI NEON e-scooter is currently retailing at around $653, so the LITE version of the model could come at a reduced price. The NEON LITE e-scooter will be suitable for short trips due to its low range of 30km.

The AOC Gaming monitor U28G2XU2 with 4K resolution has been introduced. The new gaming monitor comes with some impressive features including a 144Hz display refresh rate, support for VESA Display/HDR 400, a 28-inch screen, and a 1ms GtG response time. The model will be available in several markets later this month.

The AOC Gaming is well-suited for gaming applications and will offer a great experience for gamers. Its 28-inch IPS panel uses WLED backlights and has a maximum brightness of 370 nits. The Gaming U28GXU2 follows the recent launch of the AOC PRO AG4344UXM recently. It also offers 178/178 viewing angles and the monitor supports Adaptive Sync. It can deliver 4K content in crisp form while also retaining a lagless audio performance. You can connect the device through its HDMI, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. The expansive monitor offers a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio.

The model has the VESA Display HDR 400 certification, two 3W speakers, and an adjustable stand. A VESA mount is part of the package of the monitor. The stand provides the gaming monitor’s swivel, angle, and tilt adjustments. The model will be available in Europe and other markets although AOC has not provided the details.

The AOC Gaming U28G2XU2 is priced at about $815. We’ll keep our readers in the loop as other details of the gaming monitor become available including the exact release date.

Motorola is expected to launch a new premium smartphone called Moto Edge X30 Pro very soon. The company has been teasing the features of this handset for quite a while now. Today, one of the firm’s executives shared a camera sample from this upcoming phone.

The upcoming Motorola Moto Edge X30 Pro has been confirmed to feature a 200MP primary camera. The device will use a 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor by Samsung.

Earlier today, a picture shot on this camera was shared by Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo China Mobile Business Department. The image showcases a bouquet of flowers.

As this picture is posted on Weibo, it’s possible to download the original file. Upon doing so, one can analyze the image if they want to.

Apart from a high-end camera sensor, the Moto Edge X30 Pro will also house the latest premium mobile SoC on the market — Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

According to teasers and leaks, the device will sport a 6.73-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 125W fast wired charging.

Last but not least, the phone is said to come with a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera, and a 60MP front-facing camera.

Garmin has released a couple of cycling accessories to the Indian market. The Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS computer and Varia RCT715 radar-enabled light will enhance the cycling experience. The products are priced at Rs. 72,990 (~$913) and Rs. 40,490 (~$513) respectively. The products are available from Garmin’s online store, Amazon India and Synergizer.

The Garmin Edge 1040 Solar is a GPS computer that can last for up to 100 hours. It is designed using Garmin’s PowerGlass technology and multi-band GNSS technology. It provides precise navigational coordinates for the bike even in difficult conditions. It also affords real-time monitoring of the ride and can be easily set up. The Edge 1040 Solar can connect to a smartphone using the Garmin Connect app. The app allows the cyclist to manage his activity via activity profiles.

A trove of analytical information can be delivered by the Edge 1040 Solar. Some of the details include training load, concentration, recovery time, and climbing performance. The rider can also be updated with the remaining ascent and course details on a hilly ride. The Trailforks app can be downloaded to browse routes and ride information for several cities. The device easily integrates with the TacX indoor trainer and will automatically upload the ride data to Garmin Connect.

Garmin has provided safety tools for an enhanced cycling experience when using the Edge 1040 Solar. These features include incident detection and LiveTrack real-time location reports. The device weighs 133g and has 64GB of internal memory. The smart device can be connected via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ANT+. It also has several sensors including a Gyroscope, Accelerometer, and Magnetometer.

The Garmin Varia RCT715 is a cyclist’s delight. It is a radar-enabled taillight and camera that delivers crisp and clear video recording while on the go. It can record 1080p videos with up to 30fps, which can be easily uploaded to other devices. You can also access video footage and adjust the camera settings. Users can receive rear-view radar notifications when using the Varia RCT715 and it can integrate seamlessly with other apps.

The battery life of the device is between 4 and 6 hours depending on the taillight’s usage. Three camera modes – Continuous, Off, and Radar-Activated are present in the device. A 16GB external memory is included in the package of Varia RCT715. Its onboard Accelerometer can automatically lock footage on incident detection and the Varia app provides additional functionality.

Accessories manufacturer Inbase has launched the Urban FIT S smartwatch in India. The watch is an Apple Watch-lookalike packing a 1.78-inch AMOLED display and 10 days of battery life on normal use. The Inbase Urban FIT S can be used for Bluetooth calling and health/ fitness monitoring. The smartwatch is available via Flipkart, starting at Rs. 12,999 ($163). However, a discounted offer is in place and the smartwatch is selling at Rs. 4,999 ($63).

The Urban FIT S offers a maximum resolution of 550 nits of brightness while the display itself is 368 x 448 pixels. Health monitoring features in the smartwatch include heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2) and up to 120 sports modes are present. The new Inbase smart wearable has an integrated microphone and speaker for making and receiving phone calls. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth connectivity.

Qualcomm has teased the arrival of a new chipset for wearable devices. The chipmaker shared a teaser of its next release with a ‘coming soon’ text on Twitter. Apart from the confirmation, the teaser doesn’t shed any light on the name of the next-generation wearable chip or its specifications. Qualcomm offers chipsets for smartwatches under its Snapdragon Wear lineup. These include the Snapdragon Wear 2100 launched way back in 2016, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 in 2018, and lastly the Snapdragon Wear 4100 that debuted in 2020. These chipsets have long powered a vast majority of Wear OS devices. Currently, the Wear 4100 is based on a 12nm architecture whereas Samsung’s Exynos W920 is built on a 5nm process. The latter is far better in terms of performance compared to the Wear 4100.

Considering the tradition, we can expect the next generation chipset to be called Snapdragon Wear 5100. The processor is tipped to come with significant improvements and overall performance over its predecessor. Search giant Google is also focussing on Wear OS and the company’s own smartwatch is expected to debut later this year.

Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset for smartwatches is certainly something to look forward to since Google’s Wear OS 3 is also not available on many devices. Additionally, it will take some time for brands to jump onboard with the new chip.

iQOO 9T India launch has been confirmed. E-commerce portal Amazon has put up a microsite of the smartphone. The page gives us a first look at the upcoming offering as well as some key features. However, it’s worth noting that neither iQOO nor Amazon India has revealed the launch date of the iQOO 9T. As per numerous past reports, the iQOO 9T is expected to debut by the end of this month. Lenovo has revealed that more than 70 of its laptop models are vulnerable to a UEFI/BIOS bug that could result in arbitrary code execution in a security alert.

Three buffer overflow vulnerabilities were found by researchers at the cybersecurity company ESET.

According to ESET’s tweet, the flaws can be used to execute arbitrary code during the platform boot process, giving attackers the potential to control the OS execution flow and disable key crucial security mechanisms.

“Insufficient validation of the DataSize parameter given to the UEFI Runtime Services method GetVariable was the root cause of these vulnerabilities. A particularly constructed NVRAM variable might be created by an attacker, leading to a buffer overflow of the Data buffer in the second GetVariable call,” it continued.

Retbleed is a new speculative execution exploit affecting devices with Intel and AMD CPUs, and Lenovo has also warned users about it.

A couple of vulnerabilities affecting numerous products that use the XClarity Controller server management engine have also been addressed in an advisory from the company. These bugs could give authorized users the ability to disrupt services or establish unauthorized connections to internal ones.

Firmware flaws are a typical occurrence. Researchers have found vulnerabilities in third-party components used by numerous manufacturers, even though some of them are particular to the products of a single vendor.

The front side of the device features a punch-hole display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The rear shell of the device has a protruding camera module, which houses a triple camera unit and an LED flash. The cameras of the Reno 8 Pro will be powered by OPPO’s MariSilicon chip. OPPO Reno 8 Pro price in India

Reports have claimed that the Reno 8 Pro will arrive in three RAM + storage combinations in India, such as 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. According to Ambhore, the topmost variant will be priced at Rs 52,990 (~$637). It appears that the Reno 8 Pro will be the first Reno-series phone to breach the Rs 50,000 (~$626) mark in India.

iQOO 10 design officially teased, Key Specs leaked by tipster

iQOO is gearing up to launch its latest flagship grade smartphones in India. But prior to its release, the company teased the iQOO 10‘s design in a new image poster, while a tipster revealed some of the key specifications regarding the upcoming device.

The Chinese smartphone maker is set to launch the iQOO 10 series will be launching in India on July 19. Although, the company shared a new teaser image poster ahead of its launch, which offers us a look at the full design of the base variant. We can see that the device sports a flat AMOLED panel on the front, which houses a center aligned punch hole cutout.

On the rear, the premium smartphone’s large camera island can be seen. This module houses a triple camera setup. Notably, one color variant of the base model features the BMW vertical stripes as well. While this image poster was officially shared by the brand, we now have finer details regarding this device from known tipster Yogesh Brar. Reportedly, the device will sport a 6.78 inch FHD+ E5 AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the iQOO 10 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that will be paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The rear will feature a 50 megapixel primary camera, paired with a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter that offers 20x zoom. The front is rumored to house a 16 megapixel selfie camera. The device will also feature the V1+ chip and be powered by a large 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 120W fast charging.

In late May, Oppo launched a budget tablet called Oppo Pad Air in China. This device is being rumored to debut in India alongside the Oppo Reno 8 series for the last few weeks. Today, the brand has officially confirmed that it’s indeed going to announce the tablet next week.

The Oppo Pad Air is scheduled to launch in India on July 18. The company’s first tablet in the country will be presented alongside the Oppo Reno 8 Series and Oppo Enco X2 at an event that will begin at 6 PM IST.

Oppo India has confirmed that the tablet will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. Further, going by the promotional renders, the variant coming to the region will be most likely the same as the original Chinese version.

Hence, the Oppo Pad Air for India will come with a metal unibody casing. It will sport a 10.36-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels.

The tablet will feature LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a MicroSD card slot for up to 512GB of storage expansion. It will boot ColorOS 12 based on Android 12.

The device will arrive with Dolby Atmos-supported quad speakers, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and stylus input support. Last but not least, the connectivity options on it will include dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi is apparently planning on launching a new lineup of flagship smartphones in the Asian market soon. The Xiaomi 12T was recently spotted on a certification website in Asia, which hints at its immiment launch.

According to known tipster Mukul Sharma, the Chinese tech giant’s Xiaomi 12T 5G was spotted on TKDN, which is an Indonesian certification database. This basically implies that the new high end smartphone will likely be launching in the Asian markets soon. In other words, it might be announced for regions like Indonesia or even India. Unfortunately, the database listing does not reveal any finer details regarding the smartphone itself, although, we have previous reports for some rumors specifications.

As per our earlier report, the base 12T 5G model might be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chipset. On the other hand, the higher end Pro variant is expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Based on the earlier leaks, the Xiaomi 12T series will apparently feature a 120Hz AMOLED display and will house up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Apart from this, the upcoming flagship lineup may also arrive with support for 120W fast charging as well. The device was recently even spotted on the FCC certification website, so its launch is likely just around the corner. Meta added Stories not only to Instagram and Facebook, but also WhatsApp, where we receive something quite similar in the form of “status” updates. You may already post images, videos, GIFs, and text messages to your status, but you may soon have access to an entirely new option: voice notes.

Notably, Snapchat pioneered the notion of ‘uploading 24 hours stories’ — photo/video/text uploads that automatically disappear after a day — before being imitated by Instagram and, subsequently, every imaginable app available.

According to data obtained by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp appears to be working on a feature that would allow users to record and post audio messages to their WhatsApp status. Once the feature is available, the app should allow you to record an audio message, much similar to how you can now inside a chat. This could include uploading existing audio files (because such can also be sent as messages in WhatsApp chats), but we haven’t seen any proof yet.

Voice recordings in status updates would be shared with your WhatsApp contacts using the same privacy settings as images and videos, and they, too, would be end-to-end encrypted.

WhatsApp is not the only app experimenting with voice stories. Since a while ago, Twitter has been testing the ability to post voice tweets on iOS, but not everyone has yet access to the capability. However, in the case of WhatsApp, it appears to be a more logical expansion of the status feature; the app already enables audio messages and has done so for a number of years.

Unfortunately, this feature is still under development and not at all usable yet — not even for beta testers. But when the feature is rolled out, it will probably start with the beta users of the app before rolling out to everyone else.

Rumors are rife that Redmi could be planning to launch the Redmi K50S and K50S Pro in China. It appears that the K50S Pro may debut as the company’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. A new leak that has surfaced again hints that the K50S Pro will have a 200-megapixel camera.

As can be seen in the screenshot, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared key specifications of an upcoming flagship phone, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (mentioned as SM8475 part number) chip. The leak further mentions that this device is equipped with a 120Hz display, a 200-megapixel camera, and a 5000mAh± battery.

The comments section of the post shows that the tipster is not talking about the Moto X30 Pro, which is expected to debut soon in China as the world’s first 200-megapixel camera phone.

The only other brand that is rumored to launch a 200-megapixel camera phone is Xiaomi. Hence, he seems to be talking about a Xiaomi flagship phone.

The recently unveiled Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra are all equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Hence, the company is unlikely to launch another “Xiaomi” branded SD+8G1 phone.

Reports have revealed that the global markets will be receiving the Xiaomi 12T series with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip instead of the Xiaomi 12S series. The 12T and 12T Pro phones are likely to get rebadged as the Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro in China.

Leaked information that surfaced last week revealed that the Xiaomi 12T Pro will have a 200-megapixel camera. This indicates that the Redmi K50S Pro heading to China will also flaunt the same camera. Hence, it appears that the above-mentioned leaked specifications may belong to the Redmi K50S Pro.

The Redmi K50S Pro has already received 3C certification. Hence, it is likely that the Redmi K50S and K50S Pro may go official in August in China.

While the ThinkPad X1 Fold was powered by Intel’s Lakefield processor which was ill-fated due to several performance issues, the second-generation model will retain an Intel processor with excellent performance. This will also mean a more optimized battery performance for the new laptop. The Intel processors of the new Lenovo foldable laptop will have both vPro and Evo certifications.

The Noise ColorFit Pulse 2 smartwatch is now available in India after it was first unveiled a couple of days back. The new smartwatch is offered at an introductory price of Rs. 1,999 ($25) which didn’t last beyond the launch day. It is presently on sale for Rs 2,499 (~$31) which is still lower than the actual retail price of Rs 4,999 (~$63). The watch can be purchased from Amazon India and Noise’s website.

The ColorFit Pulse 2 is a significantly refreshed version of the ColorFit Pulse from last year, packing a larger display and support for Bluetooth calling. The latest Noise smartwatch in the Indian subcontinent features all-day heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, Menstrual cycle monitoring, and over 50 sports modes.

The smartwatch has a 1.8-inch TFT LCD screen which is about 40% larger than its predecessor. The ColorFit Pulse 2 has a maximum of 550 nits of brightness. Its resolution is 240 x 286 pixels. The smartwatch is protected against moisture and sweat due to its IP68 rating. It is compatible with Bluetooth 5.1 and is rated IP68.
