Samsung introduces LPDDR6 RAM: faster, more efficient, more secure — and likely headed to future flagships

Samsung has quietly kicked off the 2026 hardware season with its new LPDDR6 RAM, and it’s already picked up a “2026 Innovation Award Honoree” badge.

The chip is built on Samsung Foundry’s 12 nm process and reaches speeds of up to 10.7 Gbps. On paper, that matches the peak throughput of today’s fastest LPDDR5X modules, but LPDDR6 isn’t all about raw speed. Samsung increased the I/O count, which boosts overall bandwidth, and added a new dynamic power management system that reportedly cuts power draw by roughly 21% compared to LPDDR5X. In short: similar top-end performance, noticeably better efficiency.

Samsung is also talking up improvements on the security side, with extra protections designed to keep data safe during on-device AI processing — something phones and laptops are relying on more each year.

And that’s really the point here. High-end mobile devices are turning into edge computing machines, running larger models locally instead of depending on the cloud. LPDDR6 could support that shift with faster loading for AI models, and more reliable multitasking under heavy workloads.

The efficiency gains are especially important. A 21% drop in power usage means phones can handle longer, more demanding AI sessions without killing the battery as quickly.

LPDDR6 isn’t the flashiest announcement, but it’s a foundational one. It sets the stage for the next generation of mobile performance.

It’s unclear whether upcoming Ultra flagships already on the horizon — such as Oppo’s Find X9 Ultra, Xiaomi’s 17 Ultra, Vivo’s X300 Ultra, or Samsung’s own S26 Ultra — are being tested with this new LPDDR6 technology. But some of their successors will likely adopt the faster RAM to help differentiate themselves and push the user experience even further.

Should You Buy the iPhone 17 Over the Galaxy S25?

Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 earlier this year in January, and Apple followed in September with the iPhone 17. Both devices land at the same $799 price point, and both bring significant upgrades in performance, display, and camera tech. But while the Galaxy S25 leans heavily into AI-powered features and smart interactions, the iPhone 17 focuses on display quality, battery life, and a more streamlined user experience.

Since both of these phones are already proving popular in their own ways, and Apple’s base iPhone is now more competitive than ever, it’s time to break things down clearly: Should you buy the iPhone 17 over the Galaxy S25? Let’s find out.

Next

6. Verdict: Which One Should You Pick?

The iPhone 17 is the better choice for users who want a brighter display, strong battery life, and a consistent camera experience. It is also a logical upgrade for those already invested in the Apple ecosystem.

The Galaxy S25 suits those who prefer advanced AI tools, enhanced customization, and a slightly more compact design. It provides deeper control over photos and faster contextual features.

Both phones aim to lead in different areas. The iPhone 17 refines existing features, while the Galaxy S25 pushes forward with real-time AI experiences. Choose based on which features matter more to your daily use.

Honor 400 series crosses 6 million shipments as the Honor 500 tease drops

Honor is currently busy prepping for the launch of Honor 500 smartphones. But before the reveal, the company shared some numbers on how well its predecessor had done in terms of sales.

The company’s President of Sales and Service, Wang Ban, announced that the Honor 400 series has surpassed 6 million global shipments. In the same post on Weibo, he also dropped the first official teaser for the upcoming Honor 500 series, which is rumored to feature an “iPhone Air–like” design.

The Honor 400 series was first launched globally on May 22 this year, followed by its China release on May 28.

The phone’s sales jumped 195% compared to the Honor 300 series and 138% higher than the Honor 200 lineup in China. This was Honor’s best first-day sales performance in the past three years.

Honor 400 was also a hit globally

The momentum carried over to international markets, too. At its global debut, sales reportedly were two to three times higher than those of the previous generation.

By June 30, the Honor 400 series had already reached 1 million activations worldwide, making it the fastest Honor phone to cross that mark in nearly three years. By early September, that number climbed past 3 million, and now, the 6 million milestone confirms its lasting demand.

As for what’s next, the Honor 500 series appears to be just around the corner. While Honor hasn’t shared a specific date, Wang Ban’s recent teaser suggests the launch could happen before the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the Honor 500 series has been spotted in real life for the first time during the diving finals of the 15th National Games of China.

Fiio Introduces JadeAudio JT3 Open-Back Wired Headphones with Premium Sound at $69.99

Fiio has launched the JT3, a new pair of open-back wired headphones priced at $69.99. The silver version is available through the Fiio store on AliExpress.

Fiio JadeAudio JT3

The JT3 uses an open-back design that helps reduce heat, moisture, and pressure buildup while creating a wider and more open soundstage. Inside, it features large 50mm dynamic drivers that deliver detailed sound with strong bass and clear highs.

The drivers use a PEK and PU composite diaphragm that combines stiffness and flexibility. This design keeps the headphones lightweight while reducing distortion. A built-in brass damping ring helps control unwanted vibrations, allowing the JT3 to reproduce every detail in the music more accurately.

The TIL material offers high strength and heat resistance, preventing deformation, while the CCAW coil improves sensitivity and efficiency. High-performance N52 magnets provide strong output and fast response, boosting overall clarity and depth.

The outer shell is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy with a perforated grille that enhances airflow and reduces pressure inside the earcups. The drivers are angled to match the ear’s shape, which improves comfort and sound direction.

The velvet earpads are soft, detachable, and washable, with memory foam inside for a comfortable fit. The dense velvet fabric is durable and resists wrinkles even with regular use. The JT3 weighs 330 grams and has a sturdy stainless steel and zinc alloy headband with ball-bearing sliders for easy adjustment.

The cable is made from palladium-plated oxygen-free copper and connects through dual 3.5mm TRS plugs with color indicators for left and right. It includes an in-line microphone and controls for calls and playback, as well as a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter for wider compatibility.

Xiaomi’s first NAS leak reveals 2.5/3.5-inch SATA drive support, may debut with Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Xiaomi was working on its first NAS product, marking a new direction for the company. Interestingly, the idea wasn’t part of Xiaomi’s original roadmap. It reportedly began when a marketing image for one of the brand’s 10G routers unintentionally resembled a NAS setup. The visual sparked widespread speculation and community feedback, eventually convincing Xiaomi to explore the concept seriously.

Xiaomi-NAS

Fast forward to now, the product appears close to launch if recent leaks are to be believed. Tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo claims that the Xiaomi NAS will support both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. It is said to be compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux TV systems, and is designed for simple household use, similar to Huawei’s approach. Its launch timeline reportedly aligns with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

Xiaomi-NAS-Leak

There are also some leaked images circulating on Weibo. One image shows the actual device from the side, though it doesn’t reveal much about the design. Another appears to be the spec sheet printed on the product’s packaging, listing details such as dimensions of 200.5 × 85 × 16 mm along with USB 3.0, HDMI, and a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port.

Xiaomi-NAS-Leak

Xiaomi Ecosystem General Manager Chen Bo previously outlined the company’s vision for the device. He described it as a smart storage hub for Mi Home ecosystem users. It will connect seamlessly with Xiaomi phones, TVs, tablets, and PCs, enabling mobile storage expansion, AI-powered photo album organization, movie scraping for poster-wall-style libraries, cloud access, and remote downloads.

Xiaomi reportedly completed mass production and internal testing in early October 2025. Chen Bo confirmed that the product will go public before the end of 2025. Unlike enthusiast-grade NAS systems, Xiaomi’s model aims to deliver a plug-and-play experience for everyday users. The company also plans to enhance compatibility with Apple devices and promote NAS adoption by deepening its integration with its broader smart ecosystem.

Poco F8 Ultra and F8 Pro Global Launch Tipped with Smaller Batteries and Fewer Variants

Xiaomi is preparing the next Poco lineup, with the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra expected to launch globally by late 2025 or early 2026. Both smartphones are said to be global versions of the Redmi K90 series, but leaks suggest Xiaomi will limit configurations and reduce battery capacity compared to the Chinese models.

The Poco F8 Ultra is expected to be based on the Redmi K90 Pro Max. According to leaker Paras Guglani, it will come with a smaller 6,500 mAh battery and fewer variants. The phone is likely to launch in two configurations: 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage and 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. The 1 TB option available in China will not be released globally. Xiaomi is also said to reduce the color choices to Black and Denim Blue, while the Redmi K90 Pro Max offers more finishes.

The Poco F8 Pro will follow the Redmi K90’s design but with similar limitations. It is expected to come only in 12 GB RAM variants paired with either 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The base 8 GB variant seen in the Poco F6 series will not return. Reports indicate that the Poco F8 Pro may also skip the 7,100 mAh battery used in the Redmi K90, possibly in favor of a slimmer profile. Expected color options include Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver.

Certification listings have already confirmed that the Poco F8 Pro is approaching its launch. The device has been spotted in the TDRA database in the UAE under model number 2510DPC44G, as well as in Singapore and Thailand. It is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a flagship-grade AMOLED display, and Bose-tuned audio.

Alleged Moto X70 Ultra / Edge 70 Ultra key specifications tipped

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip later this month. He further revealed that Motorola will be one of the brands to launch a phone equipped with the said chipset in the coming days. Without mentioning the name of the device, the tipster has revealed what appears to be the key specs of the alleged X70 Ultra (China) / Edge 70 Ultra (global).

Alleged Motorola Edge 70 Ultra’s key details emerge

Alleged Motorola Edge 70 Ultra’s key specs tipped

In 2023, Motorola launched two Snapdragon 8-series phones, which include the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra and Edge 50 Ultra, both powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Last year, while it launched the Razr 60 Ultra equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, there was no Edge 60 Ultra.

The new leak suggests that the alleged Motorola Edge 70 Ultra, which is expected to launch in 2026, will feature a slim and lightweight design equipped with a 1.5K OLED screen and a periscope telephoto camera. Although the tipster did not specify the name, it appears he could be referring to the Edge 70 Ultra.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is likely to power both the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra and Edge 70 Ultra next year. However, it is likely that among the two phones, only the Edge 70 Ultra may feature a periscope camera like its previous generation. Therefore, it appears that the tipster may be referring to the Edge 70 Ultra.

Despite its large screen, the C5 remains surprisingly light at around 499 grams and measures just 6.85mm thick, housed in a sleek aluminum alloy body that comes in space gray.

Under the hood, it runs HarmonyOS 4.2, Huawei’s in-house operating system. The company claims the tablet meets a “CC EAL5+” security certification level, which means it’s built for sensitive enterprise environments.

The OS supports features like data classification, multi-device collaboration, and remote management, making it ideal for large organizations that need control over devices and apps.

Huawei also allows businesses to create customized environments, including app whitelists, blacklists, and function locks for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cameras.

There’s a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, both tuned for video calls and document scanning. The C5 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and it packs a 7700mAh battery, which Huawei claims can last around 10 hours of video playback.

Moreover, Huawei says the Qingyun C5 has passed rigorous durability tests, including drop, dust, and temperature. The tablet also supports the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd gen) and Smart Keyboard — sold separately — to enhance productivity.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, and OTG support. It also integrates with Huawei’s Super Terminal system, allowing seamless collaboration across Huawei laptops, phones, and other devices.
