Huawei is all set to launch the Nova 8 SE smartphone on Nov. 5 in China. Ahead of the official announcement, the entire specs of the phone have surfaced in recent leaks. Live shots of the Nova 8 SE have appeared today to reveal its appearance in real.
The Huawei Nova 8 SE can be seen in two colors such as white and blue in the live shots that emerged today. The phone’s front is not visible in the new shots, but an official render that appeared to reveal that it has a waterdrop notch screen.

The backside of the phone has a protruding camera module at the top-left corner. It houses four cameras with an LED flash at the center. A fingerprint scanner is not visible on the edge or on the back since it is integrated under the OLED screen. The handset sports a slim profile of 7.46mm and it weighs 178 grams. According to a post on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, a few Chinese stores are selling these older disassembled iPhone models for prices as high as 1000 Yuan. The post even shared a video regarding these shops, which revealed models like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Notably, it was also stated that the second hand value of these handsets (roughly 6 to 12 US Dollars) just 40 to 80 Yuan. But despite this, the disassembled variants are being sold for a much higher price.
The old iPhones are disassembled by hand by the store owners, with the disassembled parts being kept in good condition. Apparently, these broken down parts of the old iPhones also serve as a collector’s item, since the iPhone 4 series has been touted to be one of the best handsets from the Cupertino based giant. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has been long-rumored to the much-awaited Redmi Note 10 series. But to everyone’s surprise, a couple of days back, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the brand will be launching three new models in the already crowded Redmi Note 9 series and not Redmi Note 10 phones. Now, the same leakster has shared a picture of one of these handset’s LCD panel.
The Redmi Note 9 series did not make its way to the brand’s home country. Instead, it made its global debut in India and later was made available in other regions across the world. So it was thought that Redmi skipped these handsets for its homeland.
As months passed by, Redmi Note 10 series started coming into the picture in the form of rumors and leaks. But then, all of a sudden, Digital Chat Station claimed that these leaked handsets will launch as Redmi Note 9 series in China.
Now, by sharing a picture of one of the three phones’ LCD panel, he says that the punch hole on these upcoming devices will measure around 3.8mm in diameter. That means display holes on these smartphones will comparable to the flagship models.
Also, he says that the holes will further shrink up to around 2.4 – 2.9mm on mainstream smartphones next year. He also assures that tiny holes will not hinder the selfie camera quality as companies are expected to use 0.7μm sensors.

Samsung Electronics is set to supply the Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo with smartphone Exynos based application processor (AP). The deal is for the year 2021 and will have the South Korean company’s System LSI Business Divison supply Exynos APs to the Chinese tech giants.
According to a BusinessKoreareport, Samsung is planning on supplying its APs to the Chinese smartphone makers in the first half of 2021. These APs will be used in their respective budget smartphone series. At the moment, Qualcomm is the primary supplier for APs in premium handsets, so the Exynos chips in the budget lineup might grow the recognition of the brand and might even lead to it supplying premium chips to these OEMs in the near future.
For those unaware, Exynos chips have mostly been used in Samsung Galaxy devices. Although, there have been smartphones from other brands that sport Exynos APs, like Motorola and Meizu. Earlier this year, the South Korean tech giant faced a major setback as it decided to not ship its Galaxy S20 series with its own Exynos 990 AP. However, the next generation is expected to revitalize its proprietary APs and is said to even outperform the current Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 865.
Furthermore, the company is also another competitor in the AP market as companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo relied on either Qualcomm or MediaTek for chips. Securing deals within the budget segments would have Samsung expand its production and even attract the attention of other popular Chinese smartphone vendors as well.

Xiaomi has already launched a few water purification devices in the market and today the Chinese company has announced yet another such product in its home country — Xioami UltraFilter Water Purifier.
It is currently available for crowdfunding at a price of 299 yuan which is roughly $45. Once the campaign gets over, it will retail for 499 yuan, which converts to around $75.
This new Xiaomi UltraFilter Water Purifier uses a composite filter and comes with an activated carbon rod and ultrafiltration membrane technology. This ensures that the device effectively filters the rust, sediment, collomes, and others such particulates from water.
Apart from that, the company claims that this new water purifier can also remove residual chlorine, bacteria, as well as other pollutants thanks to the four heavy filters, for a good and healthy quality of water. It also claims to offer filtration accuracy of 0.1um and also removes the odor.
It doesn’t come with a water tank, which means that the filtered water will directly come from the tap and takes about 4 seconds to fill a glass. Further, Xiaomi claims that the single filter only needs to be replaced once a year.

The Huawei Mate 40 series has just been recently launched. Now, renders for the smartphone’s cases have popped up online as well, which feature a Pokemon themed design aesthetic.
Looking at the renders, the cases are for the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro. On the rear, the iconic Pokemon branding can be observed at the bottom, while the round camera module blends into the design as well. For those unaware, the popular Pokemon anime series featured Pokeballs that were used to catch the titular creatures. The top half is red and the bottom is white while the middle sports a circular design, which is what the Mate 40’s circular camera module fills in, as per a TechSinareport.
Furthermore, another case renders featured sports cars. In this design, sports cars can be seen from a side view, through which, the camera module again functions as a part of the design, filling in for the wheels. Unfortunately, these are just case renders and finer details to such products are currently unavailable. It is also unknown if these will be actually made and sold. But due to the Mate 40’s camera module, we can expect to see cases that take advantage of it.
A new benchmark result for the upcoming Snapdragon 875 SoC has revealed some promising figures. The report also pits the next gen Qualcomm processor against the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chip, which it outperforms on the CPU side while evenly matching its GPU.
According to a GSMArenareport, a Chinese leakster shared the score sheet of Master Lu, which had the results on an engineering device. The new processor also features a similar 1+3+4 core layout that was also found in the previous gen Snapdragon 865 processor. However, the Prime core’s clock speed of the new Qualcomm flagship chip is also identical to its predecessor, clocking in at 2.84Hz. This is even below the 3.09GHz clock speeds of the Snapdragon 865+.
In other words, the upgraded core design might be what’s adding to the processor’s performance over the previous iteration, which also allows it to beat out the newly launched Kirin 9000 SoC in the benchmarks. Unfortunately for Qualcomm, the same results are not reflected for its GPU, as the Mali-G78 MP24 evenly matches and trades blow with the custom Adreno GPU designed by Qualcomm.
In CPU performance, the Snapdragon 875 and 865 achieve a score of 333,269 and 290,169 points respectively on Master Lu’s benchmarks, while the Kirin 9000 scored 275,862 points, which is below both chips. Although, in GPU performance, the Kirin 9000 (344,334) managed to gain a negligible lead over the Snapdragon 875 (342,225) and a noticeable one against the older 865 chip (294,913).
Keep in mind that synthetic benchmarks and tests such as these do not always equate to a more powerful device when used in real life scenarios. Furthermore, smartphones that ran two chips also ran with different memory configurations as well. So take this report with a pinch of salt, and stay tuned for more updates regarding the new Qualcomm SoC.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series flagship smartphones but it didn’t perform as per the company’s expectations in terms of sale and the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic also didn’t help.
Recently, the South Korean giant launched the Galaxy Note20 lineup and since the Galaxy S20 didn’t perform well, expectations were high with the newly announced Galaxy Note20 lineup to make up for the weak sales of the S20 series.
However, a new report coming from Korea claims that Samsung has scaled down the production of the Galaxy Note20 series smartphones, indicating that the sales are not as per the company’s expectations.
The report claims that the company aimed to product 900,000 units of the Note20 lineup in October but only manufactured 600,000 units — only 70 percent of what the brand originally planned to make.
It further adds that the production ratio between the Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra was around 1:2, and the drop in the production rate for the Note20 was worst compared to the Note20 Ultra.
The report also adds that the company is now gearing up to start the production for the next-generation Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones from next month and for the initial batch, the company is aiming to make two million units.
Samsung recently announced its financial report for the third quarter in which the smartphone sales increased 50 percent compared to the previous quarter, but the credit for that goes to the low-end and mid-range offerings more than the premium models.

Ninebot has announced its new product in the Chinese market — Ninebot Mecha Kit M1, a new mod kit which is currently up for pre-ordering in China through crowdfunding. This is the second such product from the company after launching the GoKart kit earlier this year.
It comes with a compact design, making it easier for it to be carried around. As for the controls, it comes with a joystick-like handle that allows users to move forward, backward, left, and right quickly and easily.

Samsung has reportedly been working on a new Mini LED display for its smart TVs and now a new report claims that the South Korean giant is ready to launch a new series of Mini LED Smart TVs in the market in the first half of next year.
However, at this time, the exact launch timeline for the upcoming devices is not yet known. If the previous reports are to be believed, then the company is planning to sell around two million units of its Mini LED TVs in 2021.

Another key info the poster reveals is that the phone will support 66W fast wired charging just like the Mate 40 Pro. This means the Nova 8 SE will charge faster than the standard Mate 40 which supports 40W fast wired charging. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The poster also states that pre-sale for the Nova 8 SE will begin in three days’ time which means interested buyers will be able to pre-order a unit starting on Thursday, November 5.
Huawei is yet to officially announce a launch date for the phone but it should not be too far from the pre-sale date.

Xiaomi’s ecological chain company Ningbei has launched a portable mini-computer host dubbed Ningmei Rubik’s Cube Mini Computer Host. The computer is made smaller than a mobile phone. The device features a metal body and is only the size of the Rubik’s Cube. With such size, the device can be easily carried in the pockets and can conveniently be carried on business trips.
The biggest highlight of this computer host is the miniature size with a d, with a measurement size of 62x62x42mm, less than half of the area of the Xiaomi 10, and weighs only 145g, which is about 0.6 times that of the Xiaomi Mi 10.

This move will mark a big shift for Apple whose processors already power its phones and tablets.
A Bloomberg post says Apple will announce a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and a 13-inch MacBook Air next week. However, while they will feature new processors, the design for the new computers are said to not be significantly different from existing models. It has also been reported that there will be a new iMac and Mac Mini too.
The Apple event, like the others this year, will be live-streamed from Apple Park. It is scheduled to begin at 10 AM PST (6 PM GMT/23:30 IST).
Apple is also expected to announce its first AirPods-branded headphones which will launch as the AirPods Studio a well as an official launch of macOS Big Sur, the latest version of its operating system for its computers.
Noted Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has shared yet another benchmark result purportedly for a prototype smartphone powered by Qualcomm‘s next-generation Snapdragon 875 chipset. The screenshot shared reaffirms the chipset will bear the codename Lahaina, a scenic spot on the west coast of Hawaii. Qualcomm had previously announced that it will hold a Snapdragon chip conference in Hawaii in December.
The benchmark screenshot(via) equally shows the detailed score of the prototype device. The Snapdragon 875 is on the driving seat and the device scores 899,401 points which is higher than the first AnTuTu score of the device which is 847,868 points. The device records a CPU score of 333,246 points and a GPU score of 342,225 points.
For the memory test, the device recorded a total score of 98,772 points while the storage test sees the Snapdragon 875-powered device record a score of 125,135 points.
Since this is a prototype, the performance for the final product may be slightly lower but comparatively, the performance floors those of other chipsets including the Snapdragon 865 and Kirin 9000.
Previous rumours tipped the Mi 11 to be the first smartphone to utilise the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 flagship chip in China. The Galaxy S21 series may likely be the first to launch with a Snapdragon 875-powered device. The chip is expected to be manufactured on a 5nm process and is said to adopt a “1+3+4” octa-core design. The “1” is the super-large core Cortex X1 with its peak performance 23% higher than that of the Cortex A78.

Design
The design of the Xiaomi Mi 10 is more premium if we compare it with the Xiaomi Mi 10T. The vanilla Mi 10 has a thinner body, it is lighter and, unlike the T version, it has a curved display at the sides making it more elegant. The camera module is smaller and it makes the phone look sleeker. In both cases, you get a glass back and an aluminum frame, but the Mi 10T has thicker bezels around the display, so despite the diagonal is the same, it has bigger dimensions. The Xiaomi Mi 10 is definitely better.
Display
Besides having a better design, Xiaomi Mi 10 actually comes with a better display. Unless you are a gamer, you will prefer the Xiaomi Mi 10 due to its AMOLED panel showing more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. Xiaomi Mi 10T has a way higher refresh rate (it goes up to 144 Hz), but it has an IPS panel instead of the AMOLED display found on the Mi 10. Last but not least, the Xiaomi Mi 10 has an in-display fingerprint scanner, while the fingerprint reader is side-mounted on the Mi 10T. Both come with stereo speakers for a great audio experience and the HDR10+ certification, as well as a 500 nits brightness.

Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10 are powered by the flagship-class Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, but the memory configurations are different. Xiaomi Mi 10 provides up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, while the best memory configuration of the Mi 10T offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. Note that Mi 10T has a faster UFS 3.1 storage, while Xiaomi Mi 10 has UFS 3.0 storage. However, having more RAM and more native storage is definitely more important. Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10T run Android 10 customized by MIUI 12.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi 10 wins the camera comparison as well. It has a better main sensor for the rear camera (a 108 MP sensor) and, unlike the Mi 10T, it supports OIS for better stabilization. Mi 10T lacks a depth sensor, but it has a better macro camera than the Mi 10. Both can record 8K videos at 30 fps, both feature a 13 MP ultrawide sensor, and both lack a telephoto sensor. The front camera is slightly better on the Mi 10T, but it is not a huge difference. The lens making the difference is the 108 MP main sensor found on the vanilla Mi 10.
Xiaomi Mi 10T is equipped with a bigger battery, but its display is more energy-demanding. If you use the 144 Hz refresh rate, the battery life will be shorter than Mi 10. Further, the Mi 10 features wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, while the Mi 10T can only be charged with a cable. And we are not talking about normal wireless charging: it is 30W fast wireless charging, as fast as wired charging.
Price
In the global market, the Mi 10T has a starting price of just €499/$580. Thanks to online street prices, the Xiaomi Mi 10 sells at €500 too because a lot of time passed since its first release. Unlike you find the Mi 10T discounted with a great street price, choosing the vanilla Xiaomi Mi 10 makes more sense due to its amazing price, its AMOLED display, the presence of wireless charging, and a better camera department. The Xiaomi Mi 10T has a bigger battery and a higher refresh rate, but at the same time, its components are more energy-demanding and it comes with an IPS display instead of the great AMOLED panel found on the vanilla Mi 10. The Xiaomi Mi 10 wins the comparison.
