Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm expected to launch globally alongside 15T series

Xiaomi looks set to shrink its latest smartwatch for the global market. According to a leak from Roland Quandt, the Watch S4 41mm—a smaller companion to the 47mm version already sold in China—is tipped to debut on September 24, the same day Xiaomi unveils its new 15T and 15T Pro smartphones.

The Watch S4 series was first shown at MWC 2025 with the larger 47mm model. A few months later, Xiaomi added the 41mm edition in China, offering a more compact design for those who find the original too bulky. While the Chinese version recently received a refresh with the Xring T1 chipset, it’s not yet clear if that update will carry over to international models.

The global 41mm model is expected to feature a 1.32-inch AMOLED display, a 320mAh battery, and support for HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest software platform. Health and fitness tracking is still at the core, with heart rate, SpO2, sleep monitoring, and several workout modes included. Notifications, music controls, and interchangeable straps round out the package.

Pricing has been tipped at around €159.99 (roughly $188) in the Eurozone, which would make it competitive with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch FE. The design remains fairly premium, thanks to a stainless steel case, though Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed which finishes or strap options will be available outside China.

If the leak holds true, the smaller Watch S4 will give Xiaomi’s smartwatch range a more versatile lineup, appealing to users who want a lighter, more discreet option without losing core features. With the September 24 event just around the corner, we won’t have long to see where it lands in Xiaomi’s growing wearable ecosystem.

Honor MagicPad 3 Pro Teased, New Compact MagicPad Mini Also Expected

Honor is preparing to expand its tablet lineup with the upcoming MagicPad 3 Pro. But this tablet won’t be alone as the brand as is apparently working on a new compact tablet as well. The Magic 3 Pro could debut soon, with the MagicPad Mini following soon after.

Honor MagicPad 3 Pro Coming Soon along with a Rumored MagicPad Mini

The company has teased that it is planning on launching a MagicPad 3 Pro in the Chinese market soon. Honor’s new high end tablet was seen at an event in the brand’s home market. This will likely be a large tablet similar to the previously unveiled MagicPad 3. To recall, the MagicPad 3 arrives with a tall 13.3-inch LCD display with a 3.2K resolution, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and a massive 12,450mAh battery. All of these hefty specs were packed in a slim 5.79mm body.

Honor MagicPad 3

So we can expect the MagicPad 3 Pro to offer either a larger display or an OLED panel (with high resolution). The chipset may be a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite, although finer details are still at large. Based on the recent sighting, it could be released sometime before the end of this year.

On the other hand, known tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that a new compact tablet is also in the works. This model could be dubbed the MagicPad Mini and will likely take on other smaller tablets like the Redmi K Pad, Red Magic Astra, Huawei MatePad Mini, and the Apple iPad Mini. Unfortunately, there is no official word on this model but the tipster believes it could debut in both cellular and WiFi only variants. The exact size and specs are still unknown, although, Honor could be eyeing an early 2026 release.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Update Improves Battery Use, Network Stability, and Camera Performance

Nothing‘s CMF has started rolling out a new software update for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The firmware version is Nothing OS V3.2-250903-2153 and it brings system improvements along with camera optimizations.

The rollout is phased, so not all users will receive the update at the same time. This method helps the company track any issues and maintain a stable release.

One of the main changes is better power management during WhatsApp video calls, which should reduce battery drain. The update also improves system stability and network performance, making the device more reliable in daily use.

Camera performance has been refined as well. CMF says the update reduces heating when using the camera in WhatsApp, which should make the phone more comfortable during longer sessions. It also improves image clarity in some Facebook camera scenarios, fixing earlier problems with inconsistent quality.

During the installation process, the device may use more power and run slightly hotter than usual. CMF confirms this is temporary and the phone will return to normal once the update is complete.

The update is now rolling out to CMF Phone 2 Pro units and will reach all users in the coming days. Those who want to check manually can go to the system settings menu and look for new updates.

HiSilicon gets new chairman as Huawei reorganizes its chip arm

Huawei is making a big change in the leadership of its in-house chip design arm, HiSilicon. According to a report from SCMP, Jeffery Gao, who previously led HiSilicon’s Shanghai division, has been promoted to chairman of the unit, replacing long-time leader Eric Xu.

Xu, who has been with Huawei since the early days and has guided HiSilicon since 2008, is currently serving as Huawei’s rotating chairman. Xu took the role in April and is expected to hold it until the end of September.

And for those unaware, the rotating chairman is one of the top leaders in the company’s rotating management system, holding the position of the company’s foremost leader for a six-month term

As for Gao, he is a graduate of Southeast University in Nanjing. He joined Huawei in 2012 and worked on the company’s transmission and router products before taking over HiSilicon’s optoelectronics department in 2019. According to Chinese corporate records, Gao also now serves as HiSilicon’s legal representative, a role previously held by Xu.

Huawei hasn’t commented on the reasons for the shift. SCMP states that the change could either be due to the tradition of the company’s rotating chairman or a deeper restructuring of its semiconductor strategy. What’s clear, though, is that HiSilicon is once again in the spotlight after years of working under the cloud of US sanctions.

HiSilicon makes the Kirin processors for Huawei smartphones, as well as the Ascend chips for AI and data centers. After years of silence, Huawei openly referenced a Kirin chip (the Kirin 9020) during the launch event for its Mate XTs foldable in August.

On the AI front, its Ascend line has become a domestic alternative to Nvidia’s offerings, attracting interest from Chinese AI firms such as DeepSeek.

Here’s how big the iPhone Air battery really is

Apple has always had its own way of talking about battery life. Instead of listing the actual milliamp-hour (mAh) numbers like most phone makers, it simply states the hours of video playback as the main benchmark.

That usually leaves people waiting for teardowns to uncover the real specs. But thanks to EU regulations requiring more transparency, Apple’s German product pages now reveal the precise battery capacities of the new iPhone 17 family.

Here’s the breakdown. The standard iPhone 17 comes in with a 3,692mAh battery, the 17 Pro gets a bump to 4,252mAh, and the 17 Pro Max leads the pack with a massive 5,088mAh cell. Sitting at the bottom of the chart is the all-new iPhone Air, with just 3,149mAh.

The iPhone Air has the smallest battery of them all for obvious reasons. Apple’s ultra-slim titanium design means it couldn’t fit as large a cell inside.

On paper, that sounds like a big trade-off. But Apple is betting on efficiency to make up the difference. The company says the Air can still push up to 27 hours of video playback, which should cover a full day of use. That’s made possible by the A19 Pro chip, which is designed for power savings, along with Apple’s new N1 networking chip and CX1 modem.

Still, Apple knows some people will want more. That’s why it launched a new MagSafe battery pack built specifically with the Air in mind. The add-on snaps to the back, boosts battery capacity by 65 percent, and pushes total video playback time up to around 40 hours. It also supports 12W fast charging and comes with Apple’s smart battery management system to balance performance and longevity.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL teardown

Google’s latest flagship, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, isn’t only about cameras and AI tricks — it’s also showing clear progress in something many buyers overlook: repairability. A recent teardown by Zack Nelson (JerryRigEverything) gives us the best look yet at how Google has rethought the phone’s internal design.

Launched alongside the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel Watch 4, the Pro XL stands out in the lineup for one simple reason: it’s easier to take apart than its predecessors. Nelson’s teardown video points out several changes that make the phone less intimidating for DIY repairs.

The most notable shift is with the battery. Instead of the messy glue setups of older Pixels, Google now uses pull tabs that let users remove the cell without special tools. That alone could save owners both time and money when the inevitable battery swap comes around. Nelson also noted that the phone continued working even after being reassembled — something not always guaranteed with tightly packed modern flagships.

The overall structure is sturdier than before, and with Google publishing official repair guides and selling parts directly through iFixit, fixing a Pixel no longer feels like an uphill battle.

While Nelson stopped short of putting it on the same level as repair-centric brands like Fairphone, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is a clear improvement over earlier models. Combined with iFixit’s recent praise for the Pixel 10, it shows Google is finally treating repairability as a serious design goal.

For buyers who care about sustainability or just want a phone they can service themselves, this year’s Pixel lineup could be the most approachable Google hardware yet.

Baidu releases PP-OCRv5, a compact AI model that beats large rivals in OCR tests

Baidu just dropped something pretty interesting in the AI scene. After their recent launch of Ernie X1.1 deep thinking model, they’ve now released PP-OCRv5, a new optical character recognition model that’s available on Hugging Face. What makes this one stand out? It’s designed to be really good at reading text while staying surprisingly lightweight.

Baidu

The thing is, those massive vision-language models we keep hearing about? They’re impressive, but they can struggle when it comes to the nitty-gritty work of reading structured text accurately. That’s where PP-OCRv5 comes in. Baidu built this one specifically to tackle those limitations head-on.

Here’s what’s cool about it: the model works in two main stages – first it finds where text is located in an image, then it actually reads what that text says. This approach helps it nail down exactly where text appears and draw precise boxes around it, which is super handy if you’re trying to pull data from documents or analyze forms.

The efficiency is pretty remarkable too. We’re talking about just 0.07 billion parameters – that’s tiny compared to the giants in this space. Baidu tested it on mobile setups and found it could churn through over 370 characters per second on an Intel Xeon processor. That means you could actually run this thing on regular computers or even edge devices without needing massive server farms.

When Baidu put PP-OCRv5 head-to-head with the big names like GPT-4o, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Qwen2.5-VL on OCR tasks, their model came out ahead. It handles both printed and handwritten text pretty well, and it’s not just limited to English – it works with Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Pinyin, and actually supports more than 40 languages total.

The technical setup is straightforward but smart. It starts by cleaning up the image – fixing rotation issues, reducing distortion, that sort of thing. Then it finds where text lines are located, figures out which way they’re oriented, and finally converts those characters into readable text. The whole process is designed to give you precise coordinates for where each piece of text sits, which is crucial if you’re scanning invoices or processing forms where layout matters.

What’s nice is that Baidu made this available to everyone through Hugging Face. For developers and businesses dealing with lots of multilingual documents or just needing solid OCR capabilities without the overhead of massive models, PP-OCRv5 looks like it could be a practical choice that actually gets the job done.

Galaxy Tab A11 & A11+ Accidentally Revealed on Samsung’s Own Website

Samsung may have just spoiled two of its own upcoming tablets. An accidental listing has just revealed some key details of two new budget tablet models. The Galaxy Tab A11 and Galaxy Tab A11+ were spotted in an official listing, so here’s everything you need to know.

Samsung’s Next Budget Tablets Just Got Leaked

The two tablets were spotted by Roland Quandt on the official Samsung UAE website. To recall, both the Galaxy Tab A11 and Galaxy Tab A11+ were previously spotted on GeekBench. The standard Galaxy Tab A11’s LTE version even surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG certification. But the latest sighting was directly from Samsung. The Galaxy Tab A11 sports an 8.7-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ and Galaxy Tab A11

Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. A sizeable 5,100mAh battery pack powers this model, which measures 8mm in thickness and weighs 335 grams. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A11+ was also listed on the website, but finer details are still at large. However, the GeekBench listing claims that it packs MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 or 7300X chipset.

We did see real life images of the Galaxy Tab A11 last month, and now, the official listing showcases both tablets. The rear appears to have a single camera, while the display on the front is surrounded by noticeable bezels. Similar to the base variant, there is a WiFi only model. Although, the Dimensity 7300 is a higher end chip, so we can expect 5G connectivity as well.

The new model is available on JD.com, with the standard water-tank version priced at 4,049 yuan ($568) and the version with automatic water supply priced at 4,699 yuan ($660). The T80S targets high-end users who want powerful cleaning, edge-to-edge coverage, and AI-assisted controls.

Ecovacs T80S Robot Vacuum Specs

The T80S robot vacuum delivers 24,800Pa of suction power and integrates the Constant-Pressure Active Water 2.0 system for enhanced mopping. It uses the Ozmo Roller 2.0, a motorized roller that maintains full contact with the floor and automatically rinses itself during operation.

The vacuum comes with a high-pressure pump that collects dirty water to avoid cross-contamination. According to Ecovacs, this roller provides 16 times the cleaning pressure of conventional robot mops and spins at up to 200 RPM to clean stubborn stains like dried milk or soy sauce.

It comes with a three-level intelligent lifting system that raises the roller, brush, and side brushes depending on the surface. This setup avoids wetting carpets and lets the unit transition smoothly between hard floors, rugs, and bathrooms.

The robot uses the ZeroTangle 3.0 system with a V-shaped roller and wind-blade side brush that release trapped hair to prevent clogs. For edge work, it sports TruEdge 3.0 zero-gap technology with flexible rubber balls, bringing the cleaning path closer to walls and corners.

The T80S equips a slim 98mm body with an embedded dToF radar, AI camera, dual structured light sensors, and an auxiliary light to navigate tight or dim spaces. Its AIVI 3D 3.0 system detects obstacles and maintains close contact for detailed cleaning.

The robot can be operated through Yiko GPT, an AI voice assistant that allows natural conversations. It understands room-specific commands and can guide you through settings and cleaning modes.

Ecovacs includes a ten-in-one base station that supports automatic dust collection, 75°C hot water mop washing, 63°C hot-air drying, detergent dispensing, self-disinfection, and optional plumbing for fresh and dirty water management. The station is built for up to 150 days of low-maintenance use and has a compact 36.8cm profile.

The T80S uses a high-density nylon roller mop that avoids scratching floors. It also supports antibacterial and disinfectant solutions, making it suitable for homes with children.

In related news, Narwal has recently introduced the Freo 002 Max with 25,000Pa suction, AI vision, and a smart voice assistant, while LG unveiled robot, stick, and wet-dry vacuums for Europe at IFA 2025.

Xiaomi Quietly Dropped a Heater That Can Raise Room Temp by 16°C in 1 Hour

Xiaomi has announced its latest winter product, the Mijia Electric Heater 2 Temperature Control Version. The heater is now available for purchase in China at a debut price of 309 yuan through Xiaomi Mall and other official retail channels.

Mijia Electric Heater 2

Mijia Electric Heater 2 Specifications

The Mijia Electric Heater 2 is suitable for small to medium-sized rooms up to 20 square meters and is designed for efficient, safe, and quiet operation.

It uses a 2200W high-power heating system that reaches working temperature in just five seconds. Xiaomi claims the upgraded internal design increases heating efficiency by 15 percent. The heater can reportedly raise a room’s temperature by up to 16°C in one hour.

The device features a newly designed heating structure with turbulent airflow and dual-direction heat dissipation. Warm air flows from both the front and top panels, which helps circulate heat more evenly throughout the room. Xiaomi has used a natural convection system that does not produce strong wind, helping retain moisture in the air and reduce skin dryness during extended use.

Xiaomi has equipped the heater with two rotary knobs for control. One knob adjusts the thermostat, while the other selects among three power levels. It features a built-in thermostat that monitors room temperature and maintains it by automatically turning the heater on or off based on the user’s settings.

The device also includes a foldable drying rack capable of holding up to 1.5 kilograms of clothes or towels. This makes it suitable for indoor drying during damp winter weather.

In terms of safety, the heater comes with several protection features. It is IPX4 rated for splash resistance, allowing use in dry bathrooms. The heater includes tip-over protection, overheat protection, and a flame-retardant body. If the device falls or gets too hot, it shuts off power automatically. Its stable base keeps the unit secure on flat surfaces.

The Mijia Electric Heater 2 measures 780mm by 526mm by 216mm and weighs around 5.3 kilograms.

In related news, Xiaomi has recently launched its first smart variable pressure IH rice cooker with a 4L capacity, along with a mini inflator offering 150psi power and smart pressure modes.

Headphone Zone X Tangzu Wan’er S.G 2 Brings Premium IEMs to India

Headphone Zone has partnered once again with Tangzu to launch the Headphone Zone X Tangzu Wan’er S.G 2 In-Ear Monitors (IEMs) in India. This follows the success of last year’s first-generation Wan’er S.G., which became one of the most popular IEMs in the country.

The Wan’er S.G 2 is designed for India’s growing audiophile community, blending Tangzu’s sound engineering with Headphone Zone’s local expertise. It comes in two variants, one with a 3.5mm connector for pairing with Hi-Res DACs and another with Type-C for smartphones. Both retain the sound signature of the original while introducing design and hardware upgrades.

Visually, the IEMs pay tribute to India’s royal heritage with a deep blue finish accented by gold inlays on the faceplates. A new black cable complements the design and includes an inline microphone with remote for calls. The earphones are lightweight and ergonomically redesigned for all-day comfort, with multiple sets of ear tips included for a secure fit and effective sound isolation.

Inside, the IEMs feature upgraded 10mm dynamic drivers with a PET diaphragm and refined structure for improved control and reduced distortion. They deliver natural audio with better instrument separation and vocal clarity. They are also easy to drive with standard devices but reach their best performance with dedicated Hi-Res DACs.

Raghav Somani, Founder and CEO of Headphone Zone, described the Wan’er S.G 2 as “an homage to India’s culture and heritage” and noted that it improves on the first generation “in every possible way.” Steve Tong, Director of Tangzu, said the special edition was created to honor Indian fans while preserving the sound of the original.

Pricing & availability

The Headphone Zone X Tangzu Wan’er S.G 2 is available exclusively on Headphone Zone’s official website at ₹1,990 for the 3.5mm model and ₹2,190 for the Type-C model.
