News emanating from Huawei‘s Pollen Club indicates that the Honor 10 Lite has started receiving EMUI 10 open beta update in China. This isn’t an OTA update so it is available to users who registered for the open beta program. The program grants the registered users first-hand access to test the latest EMUI features before they are commercially available. Beta testers are mandatorily required to send feedback in order to help improve the overall outlook of the custom ROM and fix bugs before the stable ROM is released. The open beta testing is usually the last step before the stable ROM is pushed.
The Honor 10 Lite was first released in November last year as a toned-down version of the premium Honor 10. The device features a 6.21-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device also has about 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by the company’s own Kirin 710 chipset. The device is available in 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB memory combo. Huawei launched a 3GB RAM variant in March this year in India.
EMUI 10 brings a redesigned layout, fluid and snappier animations as well as a refreshed camera application, among others. The new ROM also improves on the Dark mode feature on Android 10.
Thanks to Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Oppo and Vivo, high-end smartphones became every day more affordable. Both the companies released some flagship killers in the last period and we think it is very interesting to compare their specifications in order to let the potential buyers know which one is the perfect one for their needs and their pockets. Oppo released two similar affordable flagships recently: the Oppo Reno Ace and the Realme X2 Pro under its sub-brand. Vivo came up with the iQOO Neo 855, an upgraded version of the iQOO Neo with higher performance but a still amazing price tag. Here is a complete specs comparison between them.

Design
I feel like the Oppo Reno Ace has a slightly more attractive design due to more attention to details and better build quality. Unlike the Realme X2 Pro and the Vivo iQOO Neo, its front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. I am not a fan of that Realme logo which Oppo’s sub-brand put on the upper part of the rear side, but a lot of people like it for the originality. Due to its plastic frame, Vivo iQOO Neo 855 is an inferior choice, but it is still an elegant and good looking phone.
Display
Despite its affordable price even in the global market, the Realme X2 Pro features the best display and it is even a flagship-grade panel. The only thing missing is the Quad HD+ resolution since it is a Full HD+ panel. But it is a Super AMOLED display with a high 90 Hz refresh rate, the support to the advanced HDR10+ standard, a full DCI P3 coverage and even a very high 1000 nits max brightness. Realme X2 Pro features a wide 6.5-inch screen as well as powerful stereo speakers with the support to Dolby Atmos. In the second place, there is the Oppo Reno Ace: it still features a 90 Hz refresh rate and a full DCI P3 coverage, but it does not support HDR10+ (just HDR) and its peak brightness is lower. Vivo iQOO Neo has an HDR10 display but it lacks the 90 Hz refresh rate and the 100 percent DCI P3 coverage.
Hardware/Software
Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro feature a better hardware department than the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 since they are fueled by a better Snapdragon 855+ which offers up to 15 percent higher graphics performance as well as a high clock frequency (2.96 GHz vs 2.84 GHz) compared to the Snapdragon 855. In their most expensive configurations, Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro have exactly the same hardware department as well as the same custom user interface (Color OS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie). So the performance level is very similar.
Camera
When it comes to cameras, the clear winner is the Oppo Reno Ace since it features better sensors as well as optical stabilization. Its main sensor is a great Sony 48 MP lens with a bright f/1.7 aperture, and there is also a 13 MP telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. Right after, we find the Realme X2 Pro with a 64 MP quad camera but without OIS, and with a midrange Samsung sensor.
Battery
Vivo iQOO Neo wins the battery life comparison simply because it features a bigger battery, with a capacity of 4500 mAh. On the other hand, Oppo Reno Ace has the fastest charging technology as it can reach 100 percent of battery charge in just 30 minutes.
Price
Oppo Reno Ace starts from about $478/$428 in Asia, Realme X2 Pro costs €399/$445 globally, and Vivo iQOO Neo 855 starts from €260/$290 in China. The winner of the comparison is the Oppo Reno Ace due to its better camera capabilities and a faster charging technology, even though Realme X2 Pro has a better display.
Xiaomi fans usually associate the Chinese electronics company with manufacturing a wide selection of exciting mobile phones. It might come as a surprise to some of us that Xiaomi also makes a slew of other equally amazing products in collaboration with Mi ecosystem companies.

Housed in a high-precision alloy die-casting cylinder the device can effortlessly pressurize to 150PSI, meeting the high inflation force required to fill up road bikes, regular bicycle tires, ball, inflatable toys, etc.
It features a digital sensor that accurately measures the pressure inside the tire, allowing you to regularly test it to avoid any sort of mishaps while driving. The tire pressure preset enables you to know the current tire pressure so that you can add needed tire pressure.
Moreover, the Xiaomi Mijia 150PSI features a Micro USB charging interface and works with most smartphone charging lines. It adopts an LED light that is good and convenient to use in dark environments. There’s no power button on the device. To turn on the pump, all you need to do is to pull out the high-pressure gas tube.

A couple of days ago, it was reported that Google is in talks to acquire Fitbit. Today, the company has confirmed that it is all acquiring the wearable company Fitbit for $2.1 billion. This means that Google will be paying a price of $7.35 per share for acquiring Fitbit in an all-cash deal.
Google is paying a premium of over 70 percent to the Fitbit share price before the shares were suspended earlier this week amid the speculations of takeover. However, the price is a fraction of the company’s value when it started in 2015.
Initially, the company’s shares were priced at $20 but soared to more than $50 in the weeks following the initial public offering (IPO). However, due to the competition from bigger companies like Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi, its shares suffered.
Commenting on this acquisition, Google SVP of devices and services Rick Osterloh said that the Fitbit purchase is “an opportunity to invest even more in Wear OS as well as introduce Made by Google wearable devices into the market.”
Fitbit CEO and co-founder James Park said in a statement: “Google is an ideal partner to advance our mission. With Google’s resources and global platform, Fitbit will be able to accelerate innovation in the wearables category, scale faster, and make health even more accessible to everyone. I could not be more excited for what lies ahead.”
Google has struggled to establish its presence in the wearables market. However, the company now seems to be focused on making a dent in the wearable market, which is still pretty young and is growing rapidly.
It’s noteworthy that this acquisition of Fitbit isn’t the first one for Google. Earlier this year, in January, the company had purchased a major chunk of IP from Fossil related to smartwatch technology for a sum of $40 million.
On the 31st of October, three Chinese telecom operators announced the commercial availability of 5G services in the country. Late last month, Realme released a software update (version number RMX1901EX_11.A.09) for its mid-range Realme X which introduced the long-awaited Dark Mode and updated the security patch to October. However, due to a critical bug, the company has currently halted the rollout of this staged update. Apart from this, the company has also revealed the Android 10 rollout roadmap for its Realme X lineup of smartphones in China
According to Realme developers, they “have found a critical bug before the update reached more devices. As a consequence, the update has been put off temporarily.”. While some units have already received the latest update, the company has postponed the staged rollout until the bug has been fixed and the software is secure for the end consumers. Even though Realme has not provided a particular date, the update is expected to be started seeding once again in a couple of weeks.

Essentially, the handset can self edit videos. While Xiaomi is yet to explain the working of this feature, it is assumed to make use of AI (artificial intelligence). For reference, the video demonstrating the function has been shared above.
The official cases for the Mi CC9 Pro seem to be made out of soft silicone with a grippy texture. The cases feature precise cutouts for the Penta camera setup and quad-LED flash that the smartphone is already confirmed to have. In the past, we used to transfer data, sync contacts, and backup critical files by using some primitive methods such as a USB cable, flash drive, and Bluetooth. The things have changed now, and the users are used to advanced file sharing and syncing methods over the wireless networks. There are many softwares which facilitate the users in transferring files, syncing messages, and overall controlling the whole smartphone via a browser. AirDroid is such an example that enables cross-platform sync of messages, files, and other details from the smartphone.
AirDroid offers a full brochure of features which allows the users to manage their smartphone from a computer using the web or desktop interface. It can do more than just syncing messages and device’s content on other machines. AirDroid can cast the media, send device notifications to PC, backup and install apps, transfer files, copy and paste links from Android devices, and mirror smartphone display to any other connected device.
How AirDroid Works?
AirDroid use WiFi network to transfer files from one device to another. It can also connect via an internet connection, but there are certain limitations. If the user is remotely away from the device then he/she will need a standard internet connection to make it work flawlessly. If you are using the internet connection service, then it will sync content via the server. All the graphics content that we see while using the app is retrieved from the application using the http server.
List of AirDroid Alternatives
AirDroid carries all the necessary features, but due to recent concerns over security, the users are looking for alternatives to the service. Even though a few users are quite dissatisfied with some bloatware issues that were sprawled to the top affecting the AirDroid’s authority. The AirDroid’s inability to transfer specific files are also a reason for the users looking for its alternatives. However, there are plenty of other options to AirDroid that can be used to control the smartphone remotely. Let’s see similar softwares to AirDroid:

Pushbullet service is available in two different packages – a free plan and a pro plan, which costs $4.99. The free service offers transfers upto 2GB, and a maximum file size of 25MB is allowed. There’s a limit of 100 messages per month in the free plan with a mirror phone’s notification ability. However, if you opt for the Pro plan, then you will get unlimited messages support, mirrored notification action support, and universal copy & paste feature. The paid users also get 100GB storage space with a maximum file size of upto 1GB.
Before opting for the paid service, users can test and try the features of PushBullet using its free service.
AirMore is a neck-to-neck competitor of AirDroid. However, it misses some features of AirDroid but carries almost every critical function making it a great contender for replacement. AirMore gives the capability to transfer files, messages, and sync notifications from smartphone to PC. Users can even play media from the device using the inbuilt music player.
AirMore can easily manage your media files and can transfer seamlessly between mobile devices and PC. It is an easy way to transfer files between two devices without any Bluetooth or NFC usage.
It supports cross-platform transfer between iOS, Android, MAC, and PC machines. It misses some features in comparison with AirDrop. Xender is the best utility to transfer files across different platforms easily and speedily. The web version allows users to share files by drag and drop from the respective Windows or MAC machines. It is a free tool and uses in-app non-intrusive ads for monetization. You can grab the Xender for your respective platform via the link below.

Unfortunately, the Mighty Text app is only limited to Android devices. There’s no iOS app for now.
It was launched with a recent Windows 10 upgrade. It is the best companion app for Windows users. SuperBeam is a small and nifty file transfer tool with the support available on Android, Windows, MAC, and GNU/Linux distributions. It can transfer videos, pictures, messages, documents, and other files in a comfortable way.
The SuperBeam is free, but the user needs to buy a pro version to transfer files from Android to a PC machine. Moreover, there’s a need to add a firewall exception in your Windows PC before using it. It uses WiFi-hotspot or WiFi direct technology to send files at a rapid pace.
It is the most downloaded file transfer app for Android. It is widely used by Android users to transfer files between PC, Android, and iOS devices. It also acts as a media manager, as it can list your music, photos, and other document files in separate folders. SHAREit also fetches Apks of installed apps that can be transferred to the receiver’s device with a single tap.

Earlier this week, three major Chinese telecom providers announced commercial availability of 5G, in addition to publicising their voice and data plans. Speaking of 5G compatible smartphones, a total of 11 models have already been released in the country and several others will launch in the coming months.
Out of these 11 handsets, 5 are made by Huawei alone while the rest are made by 5 other manufacturers, namely Xiaomi, ZTE, Vivo, OPPO and Samsung. When it comes to 5G smartphones, Huawei is clearly well ahead of the competition but it doesn’t want to stop even now.
According to recently spotted list of smartphones which is believed to be the company’s internal documents, Huawei is about to launch three more 5G smartphones under its Honor sub-brand which include the Honor v30 5G, Honor V30 Pro 5G and Honor Magic 3 5G. It can be observed that some smartphones in this list that have already been launched are offered with both 5G and 4G compatibility which include the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.
Honor V30 Pro renders 2
In contrast, the list lacks 4G variants of three previously mentioned Honor branded smartphones which are supposed to launch in the coming months. It seems that Huawei might not even be bothered to launch 4G variants of these handsets.
While we already have sufficient details about the V30 and V30 Pro, the Honor Magic 3 has appeared for the first time. Going by its name, it will be the successor of the Honor Magic 2 from 2018 that sports a sliding display.
Honor Magic 2 will get the new Magic 3 UI beta update later in September
Any details about Honor Magic 3’s specifications are deficient but similar to its predecessor, it is bound to be a flagship smartphone. Therefore, it can be assumed that the device will be equipped with the latest and greatest chipset from the company which is Kirin 990. Staple to high-end devices, it is destined to have features like a high screen-to-body ratio display, support for fast charging and worthy camera sensors.
The Honor V30 is the hot new upcoming product from the company, and it’s been seeing frequent leaks. The latest comes straight from Weibo, showing off the V30 Pro’s front panel. It confirms that the device will feature hole-punch cameras, with the Pro model featuring a double front facing camera.
The cameras on both devices will be quite powerful. The V30 should come with a 60MP primary sensor with 16MP super wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a ToF camera completing the quad-camera setup. The Pro version retains the 60MP primary shooter, but adds an 8MP telephoto camera instead of a macro lens, and upgrades the wide-angle shooter to 20MP. It will also have a ToF camera.
The Honor V30 will draw power from a 4000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging while the V30 Pro will have a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W fast charge and 15W wireless fast charge. The source reports that the V30 series will have a price tag not more than ¥3000 (~$420) and both phones are expected to be announced by the end of October.
The device is reportedly coming in two variants, the V30 and the V30 Pro. Ut is also confirmed that the Honor V30 launch is scheduled for November 2019. Chinese technology giant OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 7T and the 7T Pro globally and the renders of the upcoming OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have already leaked online. The OnePlus 8 duo are expected to go official by Q2 2020. In a recent interview with Times of India, Pete Lau, CEO, OnePlus said “We plan to stick with our current strategy of introducing two products simultaneously. While one device will cater to the premium segment, the other will be an affordable version of the first.”
OnePlus currently dominates the premium smartphone market in India, commanding well over 42% and beating rivals like Samsung and Apple. The figures go on to prove OnePlus’ brilliant strategy, and how well they have positioned their smartphones as ‘flagship killers.” OnePlus released the 7 and the 7 Pro in the second quarter of 2019, and followed it up by launching the 7T and the 7T Pro in the fourth quarter. Previously OnePlus launched one smartphone in the first half of the year and a T variant in the second half.
When Lau was questioned about the shift in strategy, he said, “We went with the dual phone strategy since we want to offer the best of both worlds to our patrons. The OnePlus 7 Pro, for example, offers the most updated technology at the moment. But, in a price-sensitive market like India, the Pro is out of bounds for most people. This is where the OnePlus 7 comes in. It offers the best of both worlds.”
The OnePlus 7T features a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. The smartphone features a triple camera setup at the rear. The primary camera uses a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with a 16-megapixel telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone draws power from a 3,800 mAh battery that supports 30W Warp Charge.
The OnePlus 7T Pro flaunts a 6.67-inch AMOLED Fluid display with a quad HD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The triple camera setup includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an 8-megapixel depth sensor. The 7T Pro draws power from a 4,085 mAh battery which supports 30W Warp Charge and runs on the Android 10-based OxygenOS 10.0.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update for its Android app, packing various new enhancements and features. The update also brings the long-awaited fingerprint lock feature for Android. After the initial rollout on iOS in February, the Facebook-owned company took several months to roll out the biometric authentication on Android.
The move to bring fingerprint unlock will surely enhance user privacy, and it works the same as the Touch ID on iOS devices. WhatsApp also added the customization options to the Fingerprint unlock feature. The users can choose the time to automatically lock in the device after closing the display in 1 minute, after 20 minutes or immediately. To enable the feature, users can head over to the Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock. Initially, the user needs to authenticate the fingerprint while enabling the feature.
Moreover, WhatsApp won’t be sending your biometrics to the Facebook server, and it will host the scan on your device with the help of Android’s Biometric API. It will surely relieve the concerned users who always think of privacy before opting for any new feature.
Apart from the fingerprint lock, WhatsApp allows the users to customize the visibility of the message in the notifications. Users can toggle the “Show content in the notification” option to enable the feature.
The WhatsApp 2.19.308 is currently rolling out in a staged manner so that it will reach most of the users by the end of this week. If you’re in a hurry, then sideload the latest apk by downloading it from the link below. Also, make sure your smartphone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or above.

Today, Huawei officially started selling the 5G variant of the Huawei Mate 30 series smartphones, which includes the Mate 30 5G and Mate 30 Pro 5G, with a starting price of 4,999 Yuan that roughly converts to $710.
Now, the company has revealed that it managed to sell 100 million units of the smartphones per minute during the sale, which lasted from 10:08 AM till 10:15 AM.
The Mate 30 5G comes in two variants based on memory configuration – 8GB + 125GB version with a ¥4999 (~$706) price and the 8GB + 256GB version priced at ¥5499 (~$777). On the other hand, the Mate 30 Pro 5G 8GB + 256GB version is priced at ¥6899 (~$975) while the 8GB RAM + 512GB version is priced at ¥7899 (~$1116).
Both the smartphones are powered by the company’s own Kirin 990 5G 7nm + EUV processor. It not only has a built-in 5G modem but its NPU chip also has two big cores and one small core while the regular Kirin 990 has one big core and one small core. Its cores are also clocked higher than the standard variant.
Further, both the devices have a total of 21 antennas each where 14 are for 5G, more than double the 6-antenna design of other 5G phones. Both 5G phones come in Vegan Leather Orange and Vegan Leather Forest Green color options.
The Huawei Mate 30 series is apparently doing extremely well in its home country. At the start of this month, it was reported that the company has already sold over a million units of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro since the phones went on sale in China on September 26. This is pretty impressive considering they achieved it in less than a week, and that’s not even the end of it.
Apparently, Huawei managed to reach this goal in the span of a three hours, as Richard Yu made the announcement during the opening of a Huawei flagship store in Shenzhen. Including the online orders, Huawei was bringing in CNY 500 million a minute, implying a rate of 100,000 sales per minute. Now those are some pretty big numbers.
It’s noteworthy that the Mate 30 series comes without support for Google apps and services. While it may be a big deal in other markets, it isn’t so in China where most Android phones don’t come pre-installed with Google Play Services.
Despite the ban on Huawei from the United States, the company’s flagship devices are doing pretty well. Last week, He Gang, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business and Mobile Product Line said that the sale of flagship Huawei Mate 30 series is expected to reach 10 million units by the end of this year, before the Spring Festival.
Additionally, he has also revealed that the company’s total smartphone shipments are expected to be around 240-250 million for the current year. However, the company has revealed anything related to the sales forecast of the Huawei Mate X smartphone. He said that at this stage, the company is hoping to learn and understand the customer experience with the foldable smartphones.

The 12-megapixel portrait lens is Samsung’s S5K2L7 sensor. The 108-megapixel lens is the popular Samsung ISOCELL Bright S4KHMX lens. The 20-megapixel superwide lens is a Sony IMX350 sensor.
Xiaomi is yet to reveal the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. However, is expected to sport the same specs that are available on the Mi CC9 Pro.

Samsung launched its first smartphone with a foldable display in the first quarter of 2019. The Galaxy Fold was soon embroiled in controversy as the units allocated to reviewers started malfunctioning one by one within hours. China too will be receiving the Galaxy Fold this month. On Weibo, Samsung posted “The Galaxy Fold is here. It is unlike any other mobile device. We have changed people’s perception of smartphones for future generations to come. Ingenuity arrives on November 8.”
While the Galaxy Fold is currently available in numerous markets including India, the US, and South Korea, China was missing from the list. Samsung is rumored to offer the Galaxy Fold from 14,999 Yuan (~$2,120). There is no official confirmation on the pricing yet.
The chaebol has reportedly sold over 500,000 units of the Galaxy Fold globally. The smartphone is likely to go out-of-stock soon after its Chinese launch. The Galaxy Fold rivals the Huawei Mate X, which launched in China this October at 16,999 Yuan (~$2,414).
Hopefully, the 5G edition of the Galaxy Fold will be made available in China. Samsung is also expected to make some announcements on the Galaxy W20 5G foldable flip phone at the same event.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold flaunts dual displays. While the primary display on the cover is a 4.6-inch unit, the secondary display is a 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED foldable panel. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC with an Adreno 640 GPU. It features 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage. The rear cameras include a 16-megapixel lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with an aperture rating of f/2.2 and a 12=megapixel telephoto sensor. The primary selfie camera uses a 10-megapixel lens while two additional sensors of 10-megapixel and an 8-megapixel are placed above the foldable display.
