LG will be holding a launch event in India tomorrow to announce its W-series of smartphones. Rumors have claimed that the South Korean firm may debut as many as three smartphones tomorrow. One of them is the LG W10 smartphone that is expected to arrive with entry-level specs. Today, the micro site for LG W-series on Amazon India has confirmed its other W-series phone will be called LG W30.
The retailer giant has also confirmed that one of the color editions of the LG W30 will be called Aurora Green. It will be exclusively available for Prime members and its sale will be carried on July 15. The smartphone will be also available in other colors like Black and Blue.
There is no information available on the specifications yet. However, the smartphone is confirmed to arrive with a waterdrop-style notch and triple rear cameras. The South Korean company has promised that the triple shooters will offer features like wide-angle shots, portrait mode and low-light photography. The rear shell of the phone will be featuring a fingerprint sensor. LG has been claiming that the W-series will carry pocket-worthy price tags.
The LG W10 was recently spotted on the database of Google’s Android Enterprise. It revealed that the phone will be arriving with a 6.2-inch display, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of native storage, Android 9 Pie OS and a fingerprint reader. Leaked image of the phone that had appeared in the recent past had suggested that it could be arriving with an LED enabled dual camera setup, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB port and an external speaker. Rumors are rife that the LG W-series of smartphones that will be announced tomorrow will be priced under Rs. 15,000.
Samsung is also rumored to be working on the launch of newer edition of its M-series of smartphones that it had launched earlier this year. So far, it has launched the M10, M20, M30 and M40 smartphones. Recent reports have suggested that the arrival of the Galaxy M30s could be close at hand and it may debut as early as next month. It can be said on the basis of recent reports that the M30s will be arriving with Infinity-U notch display, 5,000mAh battery, 64 GB / 128 GB storage options, Exynos 9610 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and triple rear cameras. It is expected to come in White, Black and Blue colors. Probably, the LG W30 may soon enter in a good battle with the upcoming Galaxy M30s.
At a pre-MWC Shanghai 2019 event today, China Mobile hosted top executives from the mobile industry for a 5G+ conference. In attendance were officials from brands such as Nubia, Samsung, HTC, Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi and of course Qualcomm. The event served as the official formation of the 5G Industry Alliance. It was also an opportunity for Nubia to announce its first 5G device – the Nubia X 5G Edition.
The Nubia X 5G Edition looks like the 4G version save for the 5G logo located at the top right corner above the display on the back. No specific details were mentioned about the phone but we are pretty sure it will feature a new processor and a new modem – most likely the Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon X50 Modem. However, we are not sure if Nubia will be changing other parts of the phone such as the battery capacity just the way Xiaomi did with the Mi MIX 3 5G Edition.
Another thing we are sure of is that the Nubia X 5G Edition will cost more than the standard version. It may also be available in only one variant, unlike the non-5G model which comes in multiple configurations.
The original Nubia X has a 6.26-inch LCD FHD+ display on one side and a 5.1-inch OLED HD+ display on the back. It has a Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
As a result of its dual-display design, the Nubia X doesn’t have a notch or punch hole or even a pop-up selfie camera. The only cameras are the ones on the back which are a 16MP f/1.8 primary sensor and a 24MP f/1.7 sensor. Since there is a display on the back, that is the viewfinder if you want to take selfies while the larger display is the viewfinder when shooting normal photos or recording.
The Nubia X not only has dual displays, but it also has two fingerprint scanners which are mounted on each side of the device. The phone packs a 3800mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4. It charges via a USB Type-C port, has Bluetooth 5.0 but no audio jack.
Last year, OPPO had launched the OPPO Find X flagship phone with slider design. It came with a motorized camera assembly that included the front and rear cameras. The rumor mill has claimed that its successor could be called OPPO Find X2. OPPO fans have been eagerly waiting for the Find X2, but today’s Weibo post from OPPO VP Brian Shen has dashed all its hopes as he has confirmed that it won’t be launching this year.
Rumors that had surfaced at the beginning of this year had indicated that the Find X2 will be debuting by mid-2019. The smartphone was rumored to come with some features like 10x optical zoom and in-display fingerprint scanner with support for two-finger unlocking. It was also speculated to come with punch-hole display, Super VOOC charging technology and wireless charging. Sadly, the Find X2 will be releasing in 2020.
According to Brain, the OPPO Find X2 release date has been postponed to 2020. The company is currently reviewing the improvement points of the Find X smartphone and is aiming to launch a better flagship smartphone in the coming year. Through another Weibo post, Brian has claimed that the company will be launching its other smartphone series in the second half of 2019.
In the first half of 2019, the company mainly focused on its Reno and Reno 10x Zoom smartphones. After the announce of Reno series in April, Brian had confirmed that the company had scrapped its R-series. Since the company will be focusing on Reno and Find series, it won’t be launching newer R-series smartphones. Hence, it remains to be seen whether OPPO will be launching a new series or second line of smartphones in the OPPO Reno series.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019 is scheduled to run between June 26 and June 28. Various smartphone OEMs are expected to announce newer technologies at the tech trade show. One of the biggest announcements at the MWC 2019 Shanghai will be OPPO’s in-display camera technology. While a lot is being expected from the tech, Brian has claimed that its current image quality may not be good.
The absolute winner in the smartwatch market is definitely Apple’s Watch since it sells almost as much as the rest of the manufacturers combined but Apple Watch is addressed only to iPhone owners and the starting price is way too high. On the other hand, the rest of the market is way too fragmented with most manufacturers using proprietary OS’s and most of the times software update is an unknown word.
Thankfully, there are manufacturers that prefer to use Android Wear or plain Android that allows app installing and Amazfit Stratos 2 is a perfect example of that strategy. Loaded with an impressive array of features, the Huami AMAZFIT Stratos Smart Sports Watch 2 is an irresistible smartwatch that is 50 meters water resistant. It sports an easily readable 2.5D capacitive touch screen with an HD screen resolution of 320 x 300 pixel, and Corning Gorilla glass on top for added protection.
What’s more, it features an always-bright dial with a black screen. Moreover, this Xiaomi-branded sports watch adopts the reflective display technology that enables the dial brightness to automatically adjust based on the environment, giving the wearer an enhanced eye experience. You can get it from Lightinthebox.com at the discounted price of $169.97. The offer starts today and will be valid until July 20th.
Besides a traditional smartphone manufacturer, ZTE also has an even bigger tradition in telecommunications infrastructure, being among the top suppliers worldwide. As we enter the 5G era, ZTE is once again making big progress and has already secured 25 commercial contracts as far as 5G equipment is concerned with a future goal of 60 carriers globally.
According to IPlytics, as of June 15, ZTE had declared 1,424 families of 5G Standard-Essential Patents(SEP) and patent applications to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), ranking global top 3 in terms of the number of such families. Also, they have filed more than 3,500 5G patent applications, with over 30 experts at the company taking the key positions, such as president and reporter, in international standardization organizations. They have submitted more than 45,000 papers to the organizations, including more than 7,000 proposals for 5G NR/NexGenCore international standards.
The advantage of ZTE’s equipment is that the commercial 5G Common Core first launched by ZTE supports unified 2G/3G/4G/5G/fixed full convergence and full access, as well as 3GPP R15 SA and NSA, cutting investment cost by 40% for operators. The performance in terms of ultra-low latency is far ahead of the competition, while the technical specs for ultra-high precision clock synchronization are fully compliant with 3GPP, approaching the definition for a network with “perfect synchronization”.
Given the strong demand for 5G applications and the change in the models of how businesses will collaborate in the world of 5G, ZTE and its partners jointly carried out a large number of exploratory projects in 5G industry applications, promoted cross-industry integration and development, advocated for the implementation of intelligent ports, intelligent industry, intelligent security and other industry applications, in a move to build a healthy and complete industrial ecosystem together. To date, ZTE has teamed up with operators and partners to build models for vertical industry application of 5G+ in more than 15 verticals and established strategic cooperation with nearly 200 partners within the ecosystem to promote the digital transformation of the industry.
On July 2, Xiaomi will be unveiling the selfie focused CC9 series of smartphones in China. Earlier today, the Chinese firm released a poster on Weibo to confirm that Mi CC9 will be coming with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Also, a newer Weibo post confirms that the smartphone will house a 48-megapixel Sony camera sensor on its rear.
The Weibo post that accompanies the below shown poster reads that the 32-megapixelfront camera of Mi CC9 can “restore the natural skin texture” and it can “record the beauty of each moment.” The Mi CC9’s front camera with powered with Meitu’s AI imaging algorithm for capturing impressive selfie shots.
Xiaomi has shared selfie images of its female employees on Weibo to show the selfie capabilities of the Mi CC9 smartphone. The has claimed that the phone will feature a function that will make it possible to snap handsfree selfies. The promotional posts of Mi CC9 mainly feature females including the Lao Wei who is the product manager of Mi CC9 series. Hence, it appears that the upcoming Mi CC9 and CC9e could be targeted towards female users.
The other feature of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 that the company has confirmed today is that it will be arriving with a 48-megapixel Sony Ultra Clear camera. The company has also shared a sample image that was snapped using the Sony lens. The right side of the image shows that its zoomed portion is also well-detailed.
Leaked information has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e will both sport triple cameras on their rear. It is speculated that the Mi CC9’s triple camera unit will include a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens and a third 12-megapixel sensor. On the other side, the Mi CC9e is rumored to feature the Sony IMX582 48-megapixel primary sensor in its triple camera system. Its other rumored sensors include 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
Now that the official launch of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 series is only a week away, the Chinese manufacturer is expected to release more information on the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e smartphones in this week. It is speculated that Mi CC9 will have a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with in-screen fingerprint sensor, Snapdragon 730, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage and 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. The Mi CC9e may come with a 5.97-inch AMOLED screen with in-display fingerprint reader, Snapdragon 710, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 128 GB of storage and 3,500mAh battery with 18W rapid charging. The pricing of their different variants has also been leaked.
Samsung last year ditched the Gear S moniker for the Galaxy Watch. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy Watch was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 9 in August 2018. The company also released a Golf Edition in September and then the Galaxy Watch Active was announced in February this year. The company will this year launch a successor and it is rumoured to go by the codename “Renaissance.”
The leaked codename was first reported by SamMobile who quoted an unnamed inside source to have provided the scanty information.
The Galaxy Watch 2 is expected to be launched around the same time the Galaxy Note 10 will be unveiled this August. However, not much has been heard concerning the device at present, apart from the codename “Renaissance”. The codename, however, points to something interesting in terms of new features and capabilities. There are suggestions that it could have also been chosen to fit in thematically with the Galaxy Note 10, which bears the codename “Da Vinci.” In this case, there is the possibility that Samsung is planning to expand cross-functionality between the smartwatch and smartphone. The Galaxy Watch was launched in 46mm and 42mm sizes. That may also be the case for its successor.
As we draw closer to the anticipated August launch for the Galaxy Watch 2, we’ll most likely get more information and leaks concerning the model as time goes on.

At the beginning of this month, OPPO surprised the smartphone industry by showing off a protype of its in-display camera technology. The company will be showcasing the technology during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019 tech trade show that will be held between June 26 and June 28. A day ahead of the MWC Shanghai 2019, OPPO VP Brian Shen took to Weibo to state that the image quality of the in-screen camera technology may not be good.
Brian has claimed that the application of the new technology will not be smooth, and he is concerned of the image quality. After the announcement of OPPO’s in-display camera technology earlier this month, Brian had claimed that at present the screen camera is unable to generate the same image quality as the non-screen camera. He added that the images captured through the new technology will have some loss in optical quality. He had also said that it is difficult to mass produce the in-display camera technology.
In a bid to offer higher screen to users, smartphone manufactures have tried to cut down the size of the upper bezel through different solutions such as notches, punch-hole design and pop-up front camera. However, the in-display camera technology is all about embedding the front camera under the display of the phone.
For those seeking the perfect, notchless smartphone screen experience – prepare to be amazed. 📲

When the in-screen fingerprint technology was introduced few years ago, it wasn’t perfect, and it took time to deliver accurate results. The same applies for the in-display camera technology. Xiaomi has also confirmed that it is working on the new screen camera technology. OPPO’s sibling firm Vivo too is reported working on the same technology. With multiple companies working on the same technology, improvements are expected to happen sooner.
OPPO has been working on the screen camera technology since 2017. Since the screen camera has to work with other components and imaging algorithms, it is difficult to implement this technology. The Chinese firm is expected to shed more light on it at the MWC Shanghai 2019 this week. Also, it is not known which forthcoming handset from OPPO will be featuring the screen camera technology.
The iQOO Neo gaming phone is scheduled to go official on July 2. A week before its unveiling, Vivo iQOO has added a product page with images of the iQOO Neo phone on the official website. The images reveal that the smartphone will be arriving in two colors like a purple-blue gradient and black. The company is now receiving the reservations of the phone.
The Vivo iQOO Neo product page on the official website does not feature the exact pricing of the phone. The reservations of the phone will be carried out until July 2. The product page has no information on the specifications of the smartphone.
In terms of the design of the display and rear panel, the iQOO Neo resembles a lot with the iQOO flagship phone. The smartphone is fitted with a waterdrop-style notch screen with a slightly thick chin. The right side of the phone has a volume rocker and a power key. A dedicated red colored button probably for accessing Jovi AI assistant is available on the left spine of the device.
The Black model has a textured appeal and looks like the Samurai Black version of the iQOO smartphone. A vertical triple camera setup can be found at the top-left corner of the device. The module also includes an LED flash. The rear camera setup design of the phone is slightly different from the iQOO smartphone that has a separately placed LED flash for the triple camera sensors. The lack of fingerprint scanner from the rear side of the iQOO Neo suggests that it could be embedded under its display.
Few details of the phone have surfaced on the TENAA listing of the smartphone. It has been found that the iQOO Neo phone will be coming with a 6.38-inch display and a minimum capacity battery of 4,420mAh capacity. The 3C certification of the phone has revealed that it may carry support for up to 22.5W rapid charging. The smartphone measures 159.53 x 75.23 x 8.13mm. In terms of dimensions, it will be similar to the iQOO phone that measures 157.7 x 75.2 x 8.53.

Sony has used its G-lens series as the main camera for its smartphones right from the Sony Xperia Z1 that came out in 2013 to Xperia XZ3 from 2018. Leaked information that had surfaced last month had claimed that Sony may have replaced the G-lens with ZEISS MILVUS lenses for the triple camera sensors available on the Xperia 1 premium flagship phone that was announced in February this year. According to Sumahoinfo, they have learnt from a staff from Sony’s Thai factory that Sony will be replacing G-lens with Carl ZEISS lenses for its smartphones.
The images of the triple camera sensors of the Sony Xperia 1 that had surfaced last month had revealed that the Japanese tech giant had used a pair of ZEISS 12-megapixel lenses and a 12-megapixel sensor from Samsung. The publication has claimed that some of the employees from the Thailand plant have also claimed that Sony has used ZEISS lenses instead of G-lens on Xperia. Hence, it appears that forthcoming premium smartphones from Sony may not feature a G lens.
The ZEISS lens is said to be as good as G-lens. Hence, there may not be any significant improvement in the imaging quality with the usage of ZEISS lenses. That being said, the probable reason why the camera performance of the Xperia 1 is being praised is because of the addition of new camera functions, claims the publication.
Sony is reportedly working on Xperia 2 flagship phone. The CAD renders of the phone were released by @OnLeaks in the previous month. The successor of the Xperia 1 is also expected to arrive with triple camera setup. Now that the company has reportedly starting ZEISS lenses on its smartphones, the Xperia 2 may not feature a G lens. Sony is yet to release an official statement to confirm that it has switched to ZEISS lenses for its smartphones.
The Japanese tech giant is known for using the IFA tech trade show platform for announcing its new phones in the second half of the year. Probably, the company may announce the Xperia 2 phone at the IFA 2019 event in September. Rumors have it that the Xperia 2 may come with a 6.2-inch CinemaWide display that offers 21:9 aspect ratio. It could be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset and 6 GB of RAM.

FedEx, a US-based courier company is suing the U.S. government claiming that the company should not be held liable in case the company inadvertently shipped products that violated a Trump administration ban on exports to select Chinese companies.
In court filings in the District of Columbia, the company said it should not be expected to enforce the export ban, and could not reasonably be held liable for shipping products that it did not know about.
In the filing, the company said that the export restriction rules “essentially deputize FedEx to police the contents of the millions of packages it ships daily even though doing so is a virtually impossible task, logistically, economically, and in many cases, legally.”
In response, a U.S. Commerce Department spokesman said that “We have not yet reviewed the complaint, but nevertheless look forward to defending Commerce’s role in protecting U.S. national security.”
The U.S. Commerce Department has banned a number of Chinese firms in recent weeks from buying sensitive U.S. technology. Among them is the Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies which was added to the U.S. “Entity List”, barring it from buying U.S. technology upon which the company was heavily reliant.
This development comes after the company started drawing ire from China yet again related to its business practices. Last week, a package containing a Huawei smartphone sent to the United States was returned to its sender in Britain. The package was returned by the company because of a “U.S. government issue” but the company later described this incident as an “operational error.”
Last month, two parcels sent via FedEx destined for Huawei addresses in Asia were rerouted to the United States by the courier company. FedEx said the packages were “misrouted in error.” China has already launched an investigation over this matter.
FedEx has said that it would deliver all products made by Huawei to addresses other than those of Huawei and affiliates on the U.S. blacklist. United Parcel Service also said that it would not ship to Huawei addresses on the Entity List but confirmed that there’s no “general ban” on Huawei products.
However, a Huawei spokesman has said that the company has currently stopped FedEx or UPS services. Recently, Huawei took to Twitter to say that it was not within FedEx’s right to prevent the delivery and said the courier had a “vendetta.” China’s foreign ministry asked for a full explanation regarding this.
Recently, Huawei said that its smartphones will be getting the new Android Q update in the near future and also shared a list of at least 17 smartphones eligible for the upcoming major Android update.
The company had also released a list of smartphones that were eligible for the EMUI 9.1 custom interface update and also mentioned the timeline for the update. Based on that timeline, the Mate 20 series is all set to receive the EMUI 9.1 update later this week.
Huawei will start rolling out the EMUI 9.1 upgrade for eligible smartphones by the end of this week. The first smartphones to receive the upgrade will be the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, and the P20 Lite. The Mate 20 series had received the beta version of the update in April this year.
Overall, a total of 13 Huawei smartphones will be upgraded to EMUI 9.1 by July 2019, which includes Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Nova 3, Nova 3i, P30 Lite, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 RS Porsche Design, Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Y9 2019, Y6 Pro 2019, and Y5 2019.
There are two smartphones which are slated to receive the new EMUI update in the month of August — Huawei P10 and P10 Plus which were launched around two years ago.
Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 adopts a minimalist design, thanks to Android 9.0 Pie’s deep customization optimization. This version also brings improvements in wallpapers, themes, and icons. There are also several improvements to the overall user apps which makes it easier to use the user interface.
There are also improvements in artificial intelligence (AI) features covering various aspects such as health, office, entertainment, travel and more. The company has been pursuing the synergy of mobile and PC office systems and has developed the Huawei Share “One Touch” feature. With a single touch, the phone and Huawei MateBook can establish a connection and quickly transfer pictures, videos and documents.
Additionally, the EMUI 9.1 also comes with “AR measurement”, which not only measures the line segment and area but also measures the volume with one click. What’s more interesting is that when the family and friends are in the same box, “Huawei AR measurement” can also measure the heights of all members of the family at one time.
EMUI 9.1 also comes with an upgrade to the new GPU Turbo graphics acceleration technology. This gaming-related feature introduces support for 51 domestic games in addition to the already supported 60 domestic games, bringing a low-power full-frame gaming experience.
It also comes with improvements for Huawei’s voice assistant as well as smart dual 4G SIM card switching, which automatically switches the primary SIM cards based on the one with the best internet coverage.
Huawei has already launched its P-series flagship smartphones earlier this year and now the company is gearing up to launch the Mate 30 series smartphones, despite facing difficulties because of the US ban.
Just like every year, this time too the company will be launching multiple models under its Mate 30 series — the standard Huawei Mate 30, more powerful Mate 30 Pro, and a watered-down Mate 30 Lite.

Gionee was on course to wrestle a slice of the Chinese smartphone market share from competitors like OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi until the company ran into troubled waters. The company last year filed for bankruptcy last year.
All hopes of the company coming out of its financial troubles may finally be over. Gionee’s patents are billed to be sold off its patents in order to offset its debts. An announcement by the Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court indicates that the bankruptcy liquidation of Gionee will be carried out by the administrator on July 24 to July 25 via Taobao.com’s bankruptcy property network auction platform.
The announcement also reveals that Gionee’s design patents will be auctioned at a starting price of 21,100 yuan. The administrator’s statistics show that 211 of Gionee’s design patents have accumulated backlogs in annual fees, late fees, recovery fees and other official fees totalling 317,400 yuan. The administration aims to raise the sum of 206 million yuan.
Gionee’s financial woes were in no way related to inadequate phone sales, as the innovation-driven company was doing good in that aspect. Unfortunately, poor financial management was the cause of the company’s downward spiral. This is traceable to the company President who was rumoured to have an addiction for gambling and was even rumoured to have lost 10 billion yuan during his exploits.
