OnePlus 7 3D renders and 360° video reveals pop-up selfie cam and triple rear cameras

The OnePlus 7 is a hotly anticipated device that is not expected to launch until the second half of the year. That is still pretty far away but you don’t have to wait that long to know what it will look like.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, the popular leaker that goes by the Twitter handle @OnLeaks has released 3D renders and a 360° video of the next OnePlus flagship phone. This time, he has partnered with Indian tech blog, Pricebaba.

A few months ago, a live photo of a device said to be the OnePlus 7 was posted on the web. It showed the phone with an edge-to-edge display without a notch or punch hole. It was reported to have a slider design which means the selfie camera and a couple of other sensors are behind the screen.

These renders do confirm that the OnePlus 7 does have a bezel-less display but not a slider design. Instead, it has a pop-up selfie camera just like the Vivo NEX and Vivo V15 Pro. The selfie camera slides out of the left side of the frame. The OnePlus 7 isn’t totally bezel-less as it has a bit of bezel at the bottom of its 6.5-inch display.

On the back, the OnePlus 7 sports a triple camera setup which is arranged vertically. In between the second and third sensor is the laser focus module. The camera housing is raised and an LED sensor sits outside the setup. There is no fingerprint scanner on the back which means the in-display fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 6T is making a comeback. The back of the phone is covered in glass. Unfortunately, it will not have support for wireless charging.

The right side of the phone is home to the alert slider and power button while the volume rocker is on the left. There is a USB type-C port at the bottom which is flanked by a speaker grille on one side.

Vivo V15 launches in Thailand: packs a 32MP selfie camera, Helio P70 SoC & a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner

When the Vivo V15 Pro was announced in India last month, we thought it would bring along the non-pro model – the Vivo V15, but it didn’t. Vivo has now announced the V15 in Thailand.

The Vivo V15 has a larger 6.53-inch 1080 x 2340 display covered with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. Just like the Pro model, it doesn’t have a notch and a punch hole but it also doesn’t have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the Vivo V15 is an Helio P70 processor which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage (256GB max.).

The V15 also comes with a 32MP f/2.0 pop-up selfie camera and on its back is a 12MP f/1.78 + 8MP f/2.2 + 5MP f/2.4 triple camera setup. There are lots of camera modes and features including super wide-angle mode, AR stickers, body shape adjustment, and scene recognition. The phone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Due to its bigger display, it packs a larger 4,000mAh battery which also has support for Dual-Engine fast charging. There is dual SIM support, Bluetooth 4.2, and dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone runs Funtouch OS 9 based on Android 9.0 out of the box. It also comes with a dedicated button for the Jovi AI Assistant.

Live images of the OPPO F11 Pro and its retail box surfaces

The F11 Pro is an upcoming mid-range phone from OPPO. About a week ago, the full specs of the phone leaked online and it revealed it will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 chipset. Today, live images of the phone along with that of its retail box have surfaced on the web.

The OPPO F11 Pro doesn’t have a notch or punch hole and its screen stretches to the top for an edge-to-edge appearance. It is able to achieve this thanks to its pop-up selfie camera design. There is a long and thin slit in the frame for the speaker.

The OPPO F11 Pro has a dual camera setup. At the top is the LED flash and the 48MP + 5MP dual camera sensors come next. All three share a single housing covered with glass. Below the camera setup is a fingerprint scanner and the words “DESIGNED BY OPPO”.

The OPPO F11 Pro is expected to be unveiled on March 5 at an event in Mumbai. It will have a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90.9% screen-to-body ratio. The phone will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. The pop-up selfie camera has been reported to be a 16MP sensor and the phone will have an All Ultra-Clear Engine for improved low-light images.

Meizu 16s to come with 48 MP Sony IMX586 camera and Opticial Image Stabilisation confirms Huang Zhang

Meizu is on the verge of launching its new flagship device, Meizu 16s with a lot of advancements over its predecessor. Numerous leaks and rumors are already here depicting its unknown details and specifications. In recent information straight out from the Meizu’s founder and former CEO, Huang Zhang aka Jack Wong, it is revealed that the Meizu 16s will carry a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 camera with OIS.

In a reply to a question on the Meizu Community, Huang responded and cleared the space around Meizu 16s cameras. The new revelation from the Huang Zhang has denied all the rumors which were stating that it will come with a 20MP Sony IMX350 + 12MP Sony IMX380 sensors. Huawei P30 Pro appears in a new teaser, possibly to come with 10x optical zoom

Huawei has already announced various new innovations at MWC 2019. The Chinese smartphone maker has showcased its foldable Mate X device at the event. Now, they are coming with more surprises in Paris, Europe with the launch of Huawei P30 Pro on March 26. The new device has already been leaked various times showcasing its specs and design information. Today, an official teaser has surfaced from the company side which is depicting a little more information about the upcoming device.

The new teaser confirms some reports of the device carrying a folded optics modules. In other words, it will feature the recently announced 10x optical zoom feature on the Huawei P30 Pro. Furthermore, the new device will be purely designed for photography carrying improved camera modules on both the rear and front sides. Even though, the new teaser is giving us a hint that it might come up with glass back design. Overall, nothing exceptional has been observed in the new teaser despite the information which was already here from the past few days.

As per old leaks and reports, the Huawei P30 might get quad rear camera module. These cameras will be arranged in a vertical position including a squarely designed camera sensor with the 10x zoom feature. The fourth camera is likely to be a ToF sensor which is seen below the LED flash in a recent leak.

Additionally, Huawei P30 Pro will have some significant improvements in the camera section. Despite the camera, there is no additional information about the other hardware changes in the device. However, Huawei Mobile CEO, Richard Yu was seen carrying a similar device was seen in the photo revealed a few days ago on Weibo.

Vivo X27 with Pop Up Camera Spotted on a Chinese TV Show in Topaz Blue color

A couple of days back, Vivo released its new gaming flagship, the Vivo IQOO. However, the company seems to be busy preparing another smartphone for launch this month, the Vivo X27. The phone, expected to be the successor of the Vivo X23 model that was launched last year, hasn’t been in many leaks. However, Vivo had a sure way of getting our attention by showcasing the phone at a popular TV Game show in China.

The Vivo X27 was spotted in the TV show called Happy Camp in China yesterday. The show is extremely popular in China and has been airing since 1997. So seeing the phone in the hands of the show’s host was a definite way of teasing it before launch.

One of the highlights of the Vivo X27 is its pop up camera. The camera housing at the back is the same as the Vivo 15 Pro that was launched a few days ago in India. The tease also confirms Topaz Blue gradient color option in China.

A couple of days back, Vivo models, code named V1829T and V1829A were spotted on the TENAA certification. While images were not available, the specs of the models hinted that it was most likely going to be launched as the Vivo X27 in China. The phone came with an octa-core 2.2GHz processor (likely to be the Snapdragon 710) along with a triple camera setup (48MP+13MP+5MP). The front camera is a 16MP shooter. The battery is of 3920mAh, which is bigger than its predecessors. Expect an in display sensor on board, which has become a standard in this lineup.

Vivo is yet to reveal any official details about the X27. But considering how the phone has popped up on a popular TV show, an official launch is very near. According to an earlier leak, Vivo X27 is expected to be released around late March.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro making debut in China on March 18 with ‘More Surprises’

After successfully launching Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7 in India a couple of days ago, it is heading to China. As revealed by an invite posted on Xiaomi’s official Weibo handle, the Chinese smartphone maker is now launching the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China on March 18. Although the launch event details are unclear at the time of writing, we expect more information to surface in the coming days.

In the official invite, Redmi Note 7 Pro’s back is clearly visible with Blue gradient finish. Along with the launch date, Redmi General manager Lu Weibing has also teased that the new device will carry some “more surprises.” As of now, looking at the image, it’s hard to find the changes that the Chinese version is carrying. Overall, the things behind “more surprises” are still under wraps. Even, Weibing didn’t find it interesting to share some hints about those “surprises.”

However, Xiaomi launched their Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro devices in India with Snapdragon 600 processors at reasonable prices. Xiaomi Note 7 Pro carries various advanced features over the Redmi Note 7 such as the new Dual rear camera module including a 48-megapixel sensor. It carries Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. There are few more minor advancements that have taken place in Redmi Note 7 Pro over Redmi Note 7.

It has already been listed over at TENAA in recent past confirming that Redmi Note 7 Pro with Model number M1901F7BE is coming soon in China. The key specifications such as dew-drop display and dual camera module on the rear side also got confirmed with the listing. As of now, by looking at Note 7 Pro’s rear side in the invite, it’s quite hard to crack the mystery behind “more surprises.”

Indian version Redmi Note 7 Pro specs

In India, the Redmi Note 7 Pro carries a 6.3-inch FHD+ display featuring a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It carries 19.5:9 aspect ratio for the broader viewing experience. It comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 4/6 GB RAM options. Redmi Note 7 Pro comes packed with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor + 5-megapixel secondary camera on the rear side. There’s a 12-megapixel single camera on the front side for selfies and video calling.

It has been made available for the price starting INR 13,999 (~1321 Yuan) for 4/64GB variant. There’s another 6/128GB internal storage variant which is available for INR 16,999 which roughly translates to 1605 Yuan.

Design

As we said above, Vivo iQOO is the handset that looks more like a normal flagship phone instead of a gaming device. And it is much more elegant, it has a wonderful glass back as well as a higher screen-to-body ratio. So if you do not want to distinguish yourself as an advanced gamer and you just want a normal phone with gaming capabilities, go for the iOOO. If you are looking for a gaming-centric design, then Nubia Red Magic Mars and Black Shark Helo are better for you. The former has an RGB LED strip and physical keys on the back that are very useful while playing games, while the latter has LED strips at the sides and it supports a detachable controller.

Display

Xiaomi Black Shark Helo’s display should deliver a better viewing quality. It comes with 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, so its color reproduction should be better. Further, it has no notch unlike the Vivo iQOO, and it comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio: I define these things better for people who often play games. Indeed, a very tall screen and the notch may represent a disadvantage in some games. Nubia Red Magic Mars has a good display too for games, that is also scratch resistant thanks to the Dinorex technology by NEG. However, it is just an average panel when it comes to quality. Vivo iQOO is the only with a UD fingerprint reader, but it is not that useful for a gamer.

Specs & Software

Here Vivo iQOO wins because it is equipped with a stronger chipset: the new Snapdragon 855 by Qualcomm that is up to 45 percent faster than its predecessor Snapdragon 845 found on the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo and Nubia Red Magic Mars. Last but not least, Vivo iQOO has up to 12 GB of RAM while its rivals stop at 10 GB. Vivo iQOO is also equipped with interesting gaming-centric technologies such as Net Turbo seamlessly switching between Wi-Fi and 4G when needed in order to offer better gaming performance, Cooling Turbo to avoid heating issues and Center turbo to boost app startup and frame rate.

Camera

Given that it comes with a triple camera setup including an ultrawide sensor and a depth sensor, Vivo iQOO should be able to shoot more interesting photos. But Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is all but a joke as a camera phone, thanks to its bright dual camera including a telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. Nubia Red Magic Mars is not an excellent camera phone and it comes with a midrange-class setup consisting of a single 16 MP rear camera and a classic 8 MP selfie snapper. Do not expect so much from it.

Battery

Thanks to its big 4000 mAh battery and its efficient Snapdragon 855 chipset, we believe that Vivo iQOO should deliver a longer battery life. But its opponent should not be far away as their battery capacity is high as well. Vivo iQOO is also better when it comes to fast charging: thanks to its fast charging technology it can go up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes and it can fully charge in just 45 minutes. Note that the base version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage has a slower charging technology.

Price

The new Vivo iQOO debuted with a price tag of just €400 (translating into $455 at the actual change) and it wins this comparison for its better hardware, software technologies, and overall specs. Xiaomi Black Shark and Nubia Red Magic Mars have listing prices of about €450 and €420, respectively, that is equivalent to about $511 and $477.

The company has showcased two new devices, BV9800 rugged phone and a Max 1 Projector smartphone at the MWC 2019 in Barcelona. As mechanised before the MWC, both the new devices carry some outstanding features. Both the devices are waterproof, shockproof and dustproof.
