Xiaomi launches Power Bank with 25000mAh battery, 250W output, dual 140W USB-C, smart power allocation

Xiaomi just dropped a new high-capacity power bank that’s aimed at multi-device users who don’t want to hunt for wall outlets all day. The Xiaomi Power Bank Pro 25000 250W is now available on Xiaomi Youpin and Xiaomi Mall for 999 yuan, which translates to about $150.

Inside the power bank is a 25,000mAh lithium-ion battery with a rated energy of 97.36Wh, keeping it below the 100Wh threshold used in most airline carry-on rules. The body measures 163.8 × 58.3 × 46.2 mm and keeps a fairly compact rectangular shape. One nice practical touch: a 70cm retractable USB-C cable built right in.

Ports are solid. You’ve got the built-in retractable USB-C (up to 140W), a second USB-C (also up to 140W), and one USB-A (up to 120W). Max combined output across devices hits 250W.

A standout feature is the hidden color display. It shows remaining battery percentage, real-time charging or discharging power, temperature, and battery health without needing an app. The power bank supports 140W bidirectional fast charging, so it can top up power-hungry devices quickly, or regain roughly 49% of its own capacity in 30 minutes under ideal conditions. Official materials also note that it meets the updated 2026 national CCC certification standards and has gone through multiple layers of safety testing.

On the software side, it has smart charging management, works with the Mijia (Mi Home) app, supports Xiaomi Find Device, and uses safe battery cells with protective circuitry. Detailed output specs cover a wide range of voltages and currents (including PPS) so it can handle modern phones, tablets, and notebooks without drama.

Compared with earlier high-output Xiaomi power banks (like the previous 212W models with similar capacity), this one steps up the total multi-port power and adds the convenience of a built-in cable. Right now it’s listed on Youpin in China; wider international availability hasn’t been spelled out yet.

If you’re the kind of person who regularly needs to keep a phone, laptop, and maybe a tablet topped up while out and about, the mix of capacity and 250W peak output makes this an appealing option in Xiaomi’s portable charging lineup.

Oppo Reno 17 Pro’s detailed specifications leak ahead of launch

Now that the Oppo Find X10 series has launched in China, the brand could gradually shift its focus towards the Reno 17 lineup. The Reno 17 series is reportedly around a month away from its debut. Meanwhile, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key specifications of the Reno 17 Pro, offering an early look at what the upcoming compact camera phone could bring.

Oppo Reno 17 Pro key specifications leaked

Digital Chat Station social media post detailing the Oppo Reno 17 Pro technical specifications.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Reno 17 Pro will feature a 6.32-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The compact screen suggests that Oppo is targeting users who prefer smaller phones without sacrificing display sharpness or smooth scrolling. The device is also tipped to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 SUPER chipset, although Oppo has yet to confirm the processor or its performance capabilities.

The Reno 17 Pro is expected to feature a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. On the rear, the reported setup includes a 200-megapixel primary camera with a large sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. This combination could give the compact phone greater flexibility across landscape photography, portraits, and zoom shots.

The Reno 17 Pro is also tipped to pack a battery with a capacity of around 7,000mAh. If accurate, this would be a notable capacity for a smartphone with a 6.32-inch display, potentially addressing a common concern among users who prefer compact devices but do not want to compromise on battery life. Details about charging speeds, thickness, and weight remain unavailable.

Earlier information from another tipster suggests that the Reno 17 series could include phones with different display sizes, while continuing to emphasize 200-megapixel photography. Oppo may also introduce new features for live photos and video editing.

The same leak also revealed that the brand is evaluating bringing support for a telephoto extender, which is currently restricted to the more premium Find X lineup. A recent report revealed the live shot of the standard Reno 17 for the Indian market. It revealed that the handset will not arrive with any major changes to the design. The new series is reportedly targeting a November launch, although the company has not announced an official date.

iQOO Neo 12 teaser details cooling system: cooling fan with 3-level smart speed control, 8.2K VC

iQOO is pushing its Neo series a lot closer to proper flagship territory. The company just officially teased the Neo12, and the big talking point is how hard it’s going after heat management. We’re looking at a formal launch (and immediate sales) in China on October 28.

The iQOO Neo 12 smartphone features a white back panel and integrated cooling fan.

The cooling setup is the real headline. Official materials show a brand-new Ice Dome active cooling fan with 59 large blades and three-level smart speed control. It’s got a double-layer waterproof circuit board, a high-strength rotor, and shaft welding for durability.

Internal view of the iQOO Neo 12 cooling fan and vapor chamber system.

Sitting underneath that is an 8.2K 3D Ice Dome vapor chamber, the biggest one the Neo series has ever used, which iQOO claims improves heat dissipation by 15% over the Neo11’s VC. Active fan plus big vapor chamber is clearly aimed at keeping performance steady during demanding gaming sessions.

Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with iQOO’s own Q3 gaming chip and the same “Monster super-core” performance engine that’s part of what makes the iQOO 16 a capable gaming flagship.

The display includes a 2K 185Hz panel (using pTSF technology), a dedicated 2K 185Hz high-performance driver chip, and the Super Sensing Touch Chip from the iQOO 16. Peak full-screen brightness hits 2200 nits. It also gets self-developed XDR dynamic range enhancement and a 1-nit minimum brightness. Touch sampling can spike to 5000Hz instantaneously and stays at 500Hz for multi-finger input.

On the gaming side, iQOO is leaning hard into that high-refresh panel. They’re claiming industry-first concurrent 2K 185FPS super-resolution and super-frame processing, native 2K support for some titles, adaptation for more than 50 native 185fps games, full-scene ray tracing, game filters, visual enhancement, and the same Q-flex control tech found on the iQOO 16.

To keep everything running throughout the day, the phone packs a 9,000mAh single-cell battery with support for 100W wired charging. Color options so far are “Confrontation,” “Shadow Black,” and “Frostblade Blue.”

iPhone 18 images reveal a redesigned camera module ahead of rumored 2027 launch

Apple could be preparing a noticeable design change for its next standard iPhone. Newly surfaced images offer a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone’s possible appearance, although they appear to be AI-generated rather than actual photographs of the device. The phone is rumored to arrive separately from Apple’s Pro models.

iPhone 18 could adopt a wider rear camera design

IPhone 18 live shots

The images show a design that differs from the iPhone 17’s familiar vertical dual-camera arrangement. Instead, the alleged iPhone 18 features a wider, horizontally oriented camera module spanning the upper portion of the rear panel. The two cameras remain vertically stacked within the broader module, accompanied by the flash and additional sensors.

If this design materializes, the revised camera module would mark a noticeable visual change for Apple’s standard iPhone lineup. The images also depict silver, pink, and dark blue finishes, although these colors have not been confirmed. The phone is still expected to retain a dual-camera system comprising a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, without a dedicated telephoto lens.

IPhone 18 live shot

Apple is rumored to be changing its traditional launch schedule by releasing the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone Duo in fall 2026, with the standard iPhone 18 arriving in spring 2027. According to industry-related reports cited by MyDrivers, production of the standard model could begin in late November.

The rumored specifications include Apple’s A20 chip, 9GB of RAM, iOS 27, 256GB of base storage, an 18-megapixel front camera, IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and Apple’s C2 modem. These details remain unconfirmed. Delaying production could help Apple manage component costs, ease manufacturing pressure, and spread iPhone launches across the year.

The revised schedule could also give Apple a new product to promote during the first half of 2027. Do you prefer the rumored wider camera module over the iPhone 17’s vertical camera layout?

Xiaomi launches Mijia Heated Posture Cushion with 3 heating levels, ventilation holes, prolonged sitting reminders

Xiaomi is adding another wellness product to its lineup, a heated posture cushion meant to help with better sitting habits and give some soothing warmth during long work or study sessions.

Two Mijia Heated Posture Cushions in white and pink displayed on white platforms.

The Mijia Heated Posture Cushion (also called the Mijia Heated Seat Cushion) is now listed on Xiaomi Youpin, with crowdfunding starting on October 21. During the campaign, it’ll be priced at 179 yuan, which translates to around $27. The main focus is on prolonged sitting reminders plus three levels of constant temperature heating.

A woman uses the ergonomic Mijia Heated Posture Cushion on an office chair.

The cushion has an ergonomic design that combines back support, lumbar support, hip support, and leg support to follow the natural curves of the lower back. An infrared sensor keeps track of how long you’ve been sitting and sends timely reminders, which should help encourage healthier movement habits.

Temperature control uses NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) for real-time, precise regulation across the three adjustable levels. You can switch freely between wireless and wired modes. The wireless option means you’re not tied to a power cord or nearby outlet, so it’s more flexible for using at a desk, on a sofa, or elsewhere.

On the build side, the frame is made from high-toughness nylon molded in one piece for solid support, good resilience, and resistance to bending. It’s filled with high-quality rebound memory foam that’s been through 50,000 cycles of pressure testing. Two ventilation holes in the base help cut down on heat buildup while you’re using it.

Overall, the Mijia Heated Posture Cushion is aimed at people who sit for long stretches and want a practical mix of postural support, gentle heat, and smart reminders. The affordable crowdfunding price and dual power modes make it an accessible addition to Xiaomi’s growing range of everyday health and comfort products.

Apple October 28 event: Touchscreen MacBook Pro, OLED iPad mini and more expected

Apple is preparing another hardware announcement as it continues its busy October release schedule. The upcoming showcase is expected to focus on Mac computers and tablets, with several product upgrades rumored. The company has invited members of the media to Los Angeles for a hands-on experience.

Apple could unveil new MacBook Pro models

MacBook event October 28

Apple’s October 28 event carries the tagline “Pro and Tell,” hinting at new MacBook Pro models. The event begins at 10 AM Pacific Time, or 10:30 PM IST, and was confirmed by Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company could introduce a touchscreen MacBook Pro with an OLED display, marking a major change for its laptop lineup.

The rumored high-end models are expected to retain 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes while replacing the existing notch with a Dynamic Island. A reinforced hinge could help keep the display stable during touch interactions, while a lighter design is also anticipated. Apple may retain the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in these premium models, rather than introducing newer processors immediately. Separately, the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro could receive an M6 chip, replacing the M5 processor used in the current version. Touch input is expected to complement the traditional keyboard and trackpad rather than replace them.

Apple could also refresh its 24-inch iMac with an M6 chip, although major exterior changes are not expected. The updated desktop would offer a newer processor while retaining its familiar all-in-one design.

The iPad mini 8 is another anticipated announcement. Rumors point to an OLED display, a potential move to the A20 Pro chip, and a redesigned speaker system intended to improve water resistance. Apple could also reposition the front-facing camera for landscape use, matching the orientation of other recent iPad models. These changes may push the tablet’s price higher than its predecessor, which launched at $599 in the US.

Apple has not officially confirmed the rumored hardware specifications or pricing. The new products could become available for preorder on October 28, with sales potentially beginning November 6.

Ex-Xiaomi exec launches ISHO Ring smart ring with sleep tracking in focus

The ISHO Ring is a new smart wearable focused on sleep tracking and health monitoring. Developed by a startup founded by an ex-Xiaomi executive, the device combines health-focused technology with a premium design. Its official launch is scheduled for later this month, when more details about its capabilities are expected.

ISHO Ring features a titanium design and sapphire glass

ISHO Ring
ISHO Ring

The ISHO Ring is the first product from Wang Teng Thomas’s startup, Yixiu, also known as Today’s Rest. The smart ring is positioned as a premium wearable with sleep monitoring at its core. Its launch will take place on October 29 at 7 PM China time during the company’s first AI sleep technology ecosystem event.

The ring uses aviation-grade titanium for both its inner and outer surfaces, avoiding the plastic inner lining found in some competing designs. Both sections share the same color and feature a seamless construction intended to deliver a more unified appearance. A sapphire glass element on the front adds a jewelry-like finish while accommodating the device’s monitoring functionality.

Buyers will be able to choose from gold, black, and silver finishes. Since smart rings need to fit closely to the finger for reliable measurements, the company is expected to offer multiple sizes. Customers will need to measure their fingers before purchasing, although the complete sizing process and availability details have not yet been announced.

Today’s Rest is positioning its broader product strategy around a more complete approach to sleep management. The company says its vision involves connecting data collection with analysis, personalized recommendations, and interactions with other devices. How these features will work in practice, and which measurements the ring supports, remain undisclosed.

Wang Teng previously held senior positions at Xiaomi, including general manager of the Redmi brand and general manager of Xiaomi China’s marketing department. He left Xiaomi in September 2025 after the company announced his dismissal over serious violations, including leaking confidential information and conflicts of interest.

The October 29 event may also introduce another sleep-focused product, potentially resembling sleep earbuds, based on earlier promotional imagery. Pricing, battery life, sensor specifications, and software compatibility are still unknown.

OnePlus Ace 7’s a dual-outlet cooling system officially revealed ahead of launch

The OnePlus Ace 7 series is getting a major cooling upgrade ahead of its expected launch in China later this month. The series, which is expected to include the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro, will feature active cooling hardware designed to improve sustained performance during demanding games. OnePlus is now highlighting how its approach aims to address common problems with fan-equipped smartphones.

OnePlus Ace 7 brings a new dual-airflow cooling design

OnePlus Ace 7 series schematic
OnePlus Ace 7 series schematic

In a new Weibo post, OnePlus China President Li Jie explained that the Ace 7 series uses two separate airflow paths, with one targeting the chipset and the other cooling the rear panel. Li described the arrangement as an industry-first design from OnePlus. Unlike conventional cooling solutions that primarily focus on internal temperatures, this system also considers how the phone feels during extended gaming sessions.

The design includes several changes intended to make horizontal gaming more comfortable. The intake is positioned to reduce the chances of fingers blocking airflow while holding the phone in landscape orientation. Hot air is directed upward, away from the fingers gripping the device, while a separate stream of cool air passes over the rear panel to reduce the sensation of heat and moisture on the hands.

These adjustments target practical issues that can affect gaming despite having a cooling fan. Blocked air intakes can reduce cooling effectiveness, while hot exhaust blowing towards the fingers can make extended sessions uncomfortable. OnePlus is attempting to address both problems through airflow placement rather than relying solely on lower chipset temperatures.

The Ace 7 series will be the company’s first performance-focused smartphone lineup with active cooling. Earlier product images show a fan integrated into the rectangular rear camera module. OnePlus has also described the series as a major generational upgrade, with standard and Pro models expected.

According to reports, both versions could feature displays with a 185Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model may include a periscope telephoto camera. Both phones are said to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series chipsets and a massive battery of around 9,000mAh capacity. These specifications remain unconfirmed, and OnePlus has yet to disclose the complete hardware details.

Starting with, Redmi Band 4 features a metal-textured frame, a unibody design, along with 2.5D curved cover glass over the display. The screen measures 1.47 inches and refreshes at 60Hz.

Redmi Band 4 Launch Specs Price

The Band 4 is rated for up to 21 days on a single charge, three days longer than the Redmi Band 3’s 18 days. On regular monitoring, the battery life drops to 8 days, so how long it lasts will depend on which tracking features you use.

Those features cover the usual fitness band essentials, including all-day stress monitoring, heart rate tracking, blood oxygen readings, sleep tracking, and women’s health management.

Redmi Band 4 water resistance

The stress monitoring feature tracks changes throughout the day, while you get 50 sports modes that record activities such as running, cycling, and table tennis. The band also has 5ATM water resistance.

Outside of workouts, the Redmi Band 4 can do the usual smart wearable stuff, including displaying message notifications, setting alarms, and switching between watch faces. It also supports payments through WeChat and Alipay QR codes in China.

Redmi Band 4 misses NFC

A feature that’s gone missing on the Redmi Band 4 is NFC support. NFC. The Redmi Band 3 includes NFC for offline payments in China, but we didn’t find any mention of it on the new wearable.

Motorola’s wide-fold Razr Flex runs Geekbench with older Snapdragon chip and 12GB of RAM

Motorola’s wide-folding phone surfaced in the first leak last month under the name Razr Flex. A Geekbench listing now backs up the name and spills details on what could be under the hood.

It’s the first time the name has appeared outside of leaks, although the listing comes from a pre-release device and doesn’t confirm what Motorola will call the phone. Geekbench entries can also be altered, so the name remains unofficial for now.

Motorola Razr Flex uses Snapdragon chip

As for the processor, the Geekbench entry suggests a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. This is contrary to previous reports that had hinted at a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip instead. The tested unit has 12GB of RAM and runs Android 17, though Motorola could offer other memory configurations.

The device scored 2,669 points in single-core testing and 8,837 in multi-core testing. It’s worth noting the scores come from Geekbench 6, so they aren’t directly comparable with results from the newer Geekbench 7.

Motorola Razr Flex Geekbench

The listing names the phone either Razr Flex 27 or Razr Flex 2027. Motorola already adds a year to the names of phones sold in North America, making either format plausible.

Besides the Snapdragon chip, the foldable reportedly features a 6.92-inch OLED panel with a 2364 x 1728 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The second 4.97-inch OLED screen sits on the outside. The camera setup is said to include a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera, along with two 32MP selfie cameras.

Other reported specifications include a 5,000mAh battery, 25W wireless charging, and a weight of 215g. The phone is also expected to come in Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden color options.

Motorola hasn’t confirmed the Razr Flex name, its specifications, or a launch date. In rumors, the device is expected to launch sometime in December.

Xiaomi launches Smart Switch 2 Pro with app and voice control, automation, 2200W max load

Xiaomi has started crowdfunding for its latest smart switch, aiming to make it easier to turn regular home lighting into a connected setup.

White and black Xiaomi Smart Switch 2 Pro units displayed against a dark background.

It’s designed as a simple retrofit for standard 86-type junction boxes, basically a direct replacement for your old wall switches. Key points include single live/neutral wire compatibility, Xiaomi Mesh 2.0 connectivity, the ability to convert buttons into wireless controls, and support for both regular and smart lights.

The panel is just 3.5 mm thick and uses a high-strength steel bracket for a tighter fit against the wall and less chance of warping. The surface is AG glass with an AF coating that helps resist oil, fingerprints, and scratches, and it comes in two colors. The micro switches give a crisp press with a clean rebound.

Infographic detailing the features and design specifications of the Xiaomi Smart Switch 2 Pro.

One of the more useful parts is how flexible it is for older homes. It automatically adapts to either single-live or neutral-and-live wiring, so you don’t need to rewire or spend extra if your place doesn’t already have a neutral wire. On the dual- and triple-key versions, you can reassign which lights each button controls through the Mi Home app, which helps if the wiring ends up a bit mixed up.

Connectivity runs on a Xiaomi Mesh 2.0 module that Xiaomi claims improves response speed by 50% and cuts network setup time by half, plus it supports remote OTA updates. You can control it with the physical buttons, the Mi Home app, or Xiao Ai voice commands. It works with Xiaomi’s Smart Connect and Mi Home, though you’ll need a Bluetooth Mesh gateway.

Automation options include things like lights turning on when a door opens (if paired with compatible smart locks, gateways, and curtains), or one-button routines that switch lights, open curtains, and start a robot vacuum when you leave home. In wireless mode, the buttons can also trigger other devices like vacuums or air purifiers, not just lights.

On the safety side, it’s rated for a maximum 10A current and 2200W load, with over-temperature and overload protection.

Price and availability

The Xiaomi Smart Switch 2 Pro is now up on Xiaomi Youpin. Crowdfunding prices start at 114 yuan (~$17) for the single-key version, 133 yuan (~$20) for dual-key, and 152 yuan (~$23) for the three-key model.

Redmi reveals K100 screen specs, including 165Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits brightness

Redmi announced October 27 as the launch date for the Redmi K100 this morning, confirming the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a dedicated D2 display chip. The company has now revealed more details about the screen, including its size and refresh rate.

The Redmi K100 has a 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Redmi says more than 40 games support native 165fps playback on the phone. The panel is smaller and has a lower refresh rate than earlier leaks suggested, which pointed to a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 185Hz refresh rate.

Redmi K100 display

The display also supports a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate and a 3,500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits, while Xiaomi Green Mountain Eye Protection 4.0 handles the screen’s eye-care features.

Redmi K100 ships with HyperOS 4

The Redmi K100 will also ship with HyperOS 4. Xiaomi says the software calculates system load more precisely to allocate resources to different tasks, preloads memory to help apps run when needed, and improves the efficiency of its own applications. The first two changes are part of the HyperCore kernel update covered when stable HyperOS 4 began rolling out in China.

Alongside the hardware details, Redmi has shared official images of the K100 in a new Flame Green colorway.

Marketing numbers usually round these up a bit, so it’s likely to be promoted as around 7,000mAh. The same docs also list 33W wired charging (up from 20W on the standard model) and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It even hints the phone could get up to five years of security updates.

EPREL database listing showing technical specifications for the Motorola Moto G47 Power smartphone.

The EPREL data gives a bit more useful context beyond just the mAh number. It records about 78 hours and 19 minutes of endurance under the standardized test (not continuous screen-on time), puts the phone in energy-efficiency class A, rates battery durability at 1,200 charge cycles, and gives it a repairability class of B. Those figures paint a clearer picture of real-world staying power than the raw capacity alone, especially when you factor in the faster charging.

An early listing on the Italian retailer Epto showed a 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version priced around €350. Most of the other core specs haven’t been confirmed yet for the Power model.

Looking at the regular Moto G47 (which launched in Europe in spring 2026), the expectation is that it’ll keep the same basic setup: a 6.67″ 120Hz IPS LCD (HD+ resolution, up to around 1,050 nits peak brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i), a Dimensity 6300 chipset, a dual rear camera with a 108MP main sensor and 2MP secondary, plus an 8MP front camera. The Power version is widely expected to stick with this foundation and focus the upgrades on battery size, charging speed, and durability.

The standard Moto G47 already has IP64 protection and runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI. The Power edition fits Motorola’s usual pattern of offering bigger-battery “Power” models alongside the regular G-series phones, just like they did with the G77 Power and earlier ones.

Design and Display

Build and Feel

The Xiaomi 18 Pro combines Dragon Crystal Glass 3 with an aluminum frame, giving it a premium construction and additional screen protection. Its IP68 rating promises water resistance at depths of up to six meters under specified conditions. The Vivo X500 Pro also uses an aluminum frame and glass or glass-fiber-reinforced plastic back, depending on the variant. Its IP68/IP69 certification adds protection against high-pressure water jets. Both phones feature ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors, but Xiaomi’s more distinctive design includes a secondary display on the rear. This adds functionality beyond the conventional flagship experience, although its usefulness depends on how frequently users rely on the extra screen.

Display Quality

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a claimed peak brightness of 4,000 nits. The Vivo X500 Pro offers a slightly smaller 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a sharper 1216 x 2660 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Xiaomi supports 68 billion colors and 2160Hz PWM dimming, while Vivo offers Ultra HDR image support. Both should deliver vibrant visuals, but Vivo’s higher refresh rate and resolution give it an advantage for smooth scrolling and fine details.

Verdict

The Vivo X500 Pro wins for its sharper, smoother primary display and broader water-resistance certification. Xiaomi remains more distinctive thanks to its useful rear display and specialized screen-dimming technology.

Specifications Including Battery

Performance

The Xiaomi 18 Pro runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm process, with an octa-core CPU reaching 5GHz. Its Adreno GPU and configurations offering up to 16GB RAM make it a strong candidate for demanding games, multitasking, and intensive applications. The Vivo X500 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, also manufactured on a 2nm process, with CPU speeds reaching 4.55GHz and a Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU. Both phones use UFS 4.1 storage and offer up to 1TB of internal space. However, Xiaomi’s 16GB RAM option gives power users more memory headroom, while Vivo limits its listed configurations to 12GB RAM. Actual performance will depend on sustained workloads, cooling, and software optimization rather than clock speeds alone.

Battery and Charging

Xiaomi equips the 18 Pro with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, supported by 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W reverse wireless charging. The Vivo X500 Pro has a 6,510mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless and wired charging. Xiaomi’s larger battery should provide a useful endurance advantage, particularly for gaming, navigation, and extended media use. Its faster charging ratings also make it the more versatile option for users who regularly need quick top-ups. Vivo counters with reverse wired charging, which can be handy for powering compatible accessories.

Verdict

The Xiaomi 18 Pro wins this section with its larger battery, faster wired and wireless charging, and optional 16GB RAM. It looks better suited to demanding users.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, accompanied by a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.2x optical zoom. Its 50MP ultrawide camera completes a versatile Leica-branded system. The Vivo X500 Pro takes a different approach, combining a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP autofocus ultrawide camera. Zeiss optics, T* lens coating, and 3D LUT import support its imaging ambitions. Xiaomi’s high-resolution telephoto hardware offers greater cropping flexibility, while Vivo’s optical tuning and longer telephoto reach could appeal to portrait photographers. Neither camera system can be declared superior on megapixels alone; image processing, exposure consistency, and low-light performance will ultimately determine real-world results.

Selfie Camera

Both phones feature 50MP front cameras, but their implementations differ. Xiaomi provides autofocus, HDR, and 4K video recording at up to 60fps, alongside gyro-based electronic stabilization. The Vivo X500 Pro also offers autofocus and 4K recording at up to 60fps, making both suitable for video calls, social media content, and detailed self-portraits. Xiaomi explicitly lists HDR10+ support for front-camera video, while Vivo emphasizes its broader professional video toolkit across the rear cameras. For creators, the distinction is less about front-camera resolution and more about color consistency and recording flexibility. Xiaomi has a compelling selfie-video specification, but Vivo’s overall imaging ecosystem makes it an attractive option for users who regularly switch between photography and advanced video production.

Verdict

The Xiaomi 18 Pro wins on paper with its dual 200MP cameras and high-resolution telephoto hardware. Vivo remains compelling for Zeiss optics, longer optical zoom, and advanced video tools.

Pricing

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is priced around $1,000 (₹1,20,000), positioning it firmly in the premium flagship segment. The Vivo X500 Pro is priced around $950 (₹93,000), making it the less expensive option. The difference is approximately $50 or ₹27,000, although actual prices will depend on regional availability, taxes, storage configurations, and official launch pricing.

Xiaomi’s higher asking price comes with a larger battery, faster charging, two 200MP rear cameras, and a secondary rear display. Vivo offers a sharper 144Hz screen, Zeiss camera technology, IP69 protection, and advanced video-recording features. Buyers should also consider whether the desired variant is officially available in their market, as regional differences can affect software, connectivity, warranty coverage, and pricing.

Is the price justified?

Xiaomi’s premium makes sense for users who prioritize battery endurance, high-resolution photography, and charging flexibility. Its additional features provide tangible benefits for heavy users, although not everyone will need a rear display or 200MP telephoto camera.

Vivo X500 Pro offers a more balanced package for buyers who want premium photography, a sophisticated display, and robust water resistance without paying as much. Its professional video capabilities further strengthen its value for content creators.

Vivo offers the stronger overall value, while Xiaomi justifies its higher cost through more ambitious hardware specifications. Neither phone is inexpensive, so the better purchase depends on which features will genuinely improve everyday use.

Verdict

The Vivo X500 Pro wins on value, costing less while delivering a premium display, Zeiss camera technology, and strong water resistance. Xiaomi is worth the premium for battery-focused users.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, launch timing, and applicable taxes. Always check whether the listed price is for a China unit or a global/international variant when purchasing.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi 18 Pro stands out with its secondary rear display, dual 200MP camera system, 7,000mAh battery, and 100W wired charging. These features make it particularly appealing to users who want extended endurance, flexible photography, and distinctive flagship hardware. Its Snapdragon chipset and optional 16GB RAM also strengthen its appeal for demanding applications and gaming.

The Vivo X500 Pro counters with Zeiss optics, a 144Hz LTPO AMOLED display, IP68/IP69 protection, and extensive video capabilities, including 4K recording at up to 240fps and professional 10-bit recording options. It also supports up to five major Android OS updates, providing a clearer long-term software commitment. Its lower estimated price makes the overall package easier to justify for buyers who value photography and display quality over headline-grabbing camera resolutions.

Verdict

Xiaomi 18 Pro is the overall winner for its more powerful-looking camera hardware, larger battery, faster charging, and higher memory ceiling. It offers the more ambitious flagship package for power users. However, the Vivo X500 Pro is the smarter value choice for buyers who prioritize Zeiss imaging, advanced video recording, a sharper display, and a lower price. Choose Xiaomi for battery life and hardware versatility; choose Vivo for photography-focused value and long-term software support.

According to Chinese tipster Bai Ze Guan Shan, the Huawei Mate X8 was originally scheduled to debut in November alongside the company’s rumoured new sub-brand, Xingmang. However, the launch timeline for the new brand remains uncertain, so it is unclear whether both will appear at the same event.

The Mate X8 is tipped to feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.15-inch inner screen. A privacy-focused display variant is also reportedly under consideration, potentially appealing to business users who want to keep on-screen information private in public settings. The phone is expected to retain the Mate X series’ established foldable design and circular rear camera module.

The camera setup could include a 50-megapixel SC595 primary sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches, paired with a variable aperture and Huawei’s RYYB color filter array. A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is also tipped, although Huawei has yet to confirm the complete camera configuration.

On the front, it will have a 6.85-inch BOE LTPO display with 2K+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is expected to feature an LIPO flat display with symmetrical bezels and rounded corners, as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The leak does not provide any information about the device’s camera capabilities, but the phone may pack a battery with a capacity of around 7,000mAh.

Recent reports have revealed that the Vivo X500 Ultra is being tested with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera featuring different sensor sizes, including 1/1.12-inch, 1/1.3-inch, and 1/1.4-inch options. However, it remains unclear which sensor will be used in the final device.

For the main camera, Vivo may use either a 50-megapixel 1/1.28-inch LOFIC sensor with a 35mm focal length or a 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch LOFIC sensor. It is advisable to wait for further reports to learn more about the exact camera specifications.

HMD Vibe 2 Max leaks with 108MP camera, Unisoc T9100 chip and 6,000mAh battery

HMD could soon expand its Vibe 2 lineup with a new model called the Vibe 2 Max. Tipster @smashx_60 has shared renders and a full list of specifications on X. And as the name suggests, the phone is likely to sit above the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G, which arrived in India at the end of September.

The phone is said to built arond a 6.78-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,500 nits. The screen size and refresh rate match the Vibe 2 Pro 5G.

HMD Vibe 2 Max differs from Vibe 2 Pro in few areas

The Vibe 2 Max could also get a different chipset. According to the leak, it uses a Unisoc T9100 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Vibe 2 Pro 5G, by comparison, runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Max would therefore double the available storage.

The cameras could be another major difference between the two models. The leak hints at a camera setup consisting of a 108MP main camera and an 8MP secondary sensor on the back, along with a 50MP front camera.

HMD Vibe 2 Max Design Render

The phone is also said to support 4K video recording at 30fps. The Vibe 2 Pro 5G has a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP selfie shooter, with video recording capped at 1080p at 30fps.

Both phones appear to share the same battery and charging specifications. The Vibe 2 Max is listed with a 6,000mAh battery and 33W wired charging, along with Android 16. Other reported features include IP64 dust and water resistance, Wi-Fi 6, 5G connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, dual speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The shared renders show the HMD Vibe 2 Max in black, red and green. All three versions have a rectangular camera module in the upper-left corner, with two lenses and an LED flash.

HMD hasn’t announced the Vibe 2 Max yet, and the leak doesn’t reveal its price, launch date or intended markets.
