How to Use OpenAI Sora Video Generator Right Now

OpenAI has launched Sora, its cutting-edge AI-powered video generation model, for public use. Initially introduced as a research preview in February 2024, Sora is now accessible to paid ChatGPT subscribers. If you’re eager to explore this innovative tool, here’s a detailed guide on how to access and use Sora.

OpenAI Sora

1. What is Sora?

Sora is an innovative video generation model that creates videos using text prompts and supports additional functionalities. It operates similarly to OpenAI’s earlier image-generation tool, DALL-E, but extends these functionalities into dynamic video creation. Users can animate static images, remix existing videos, and merge multiple clips to produce cohesive results.

The model offers advanced tools such as Storyboard, Re-cut, Remix, and Loop, enabling users to make highly personalized videos. Sora is designed for casual users and professionals and is accessible through a dedicated platform.

2. Who Can Access Sora?

Access to Sora is currently limited to paid subscribers of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Pro plans. ChatGPT Plus subscribers, who pay $20 per month, can generate up to 50 videos per month with a resolution of up to 720p and a duration of up to 5 seconds.

ChatGPT Pro subscribers, who pay $200 per month, can create up to 500 priority videos per month with high-resolution outputs of up to 1080p and 20 seconds in duration. Pro users can also generate unlimited relaxed-mode videos and download them without watermarks. Free, enterprise, or educational accounts do not currently have access to Sora.

3. Steps to Access Sora

To access Sora, users need to subscribe to either ChatGPT Plus or ChatGPT Pro. After subscribing, users can visit Sora’s dedicated platform at Sora.com and log in using their OpenAI account credentials. Once logged in, users can configure their profile settings and adjust preferences such as default resolution or toggling the option to publish creations on the Explore feed.

To generate videos, users can enter a description in the text input field or upload an image or video clip to remix or extend. Before submitting the prompt, users can adjust parameters like resolution, duration, and aspect ratio. Sora offers features such as Storyboard, where users can arrange frames on a timeline, and Remix, which allows modifications to video elements.

The Loop feature helps create seamless looping videos, while Blend lets users combine two videos into a single cohesive clip. Once the video is ready, users can preview, download, or share it. Pro subscribers can download videos without watermarks.

4. Tips for Smooth Access

Users experiencing delays with Sora should clear their browser cache and cookies, as outdated cache data can interfere with performance. Using an incognito window can help resolve issues caused by browser extensions. Checking OpenAI’s system status page is also recommended to ensure there are no server issues. Users may experience faster response times during off-peak hours, as demand tends to be lower.

5. Limitations

While Sora offers immense creative potential, it also has limitations in handling complex actions and maintaining realistic physics over longer videos. OpenAI has implemented several safeguards to ensure ethical usage and prevent the creation of harmful content, such as deepfakes.

6. Availability

Sora is currently rolling out globally, although its availability may be delayed in certain regions such as Europe. Users can check the list of supported countries on the Sora website to confirm if it is accessible in their area.

In related news, Baidu has unveiled the Xiaodu AI Glasses, the world’s first AI glasses with native Chinese model support. Meanwhile, flagship smartphones are setting new trends with features like the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, advanced battery technologies, cutting-edge cameras, foldable designs, and enhanced AI capabilities, driving the next wave of innovation.

Best Flip Foldable Smartphones in India 2024

Earlier today (10th December 2024), we crowned the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro as the Best Book-style Foldable Smartphone in India. So now, here’s our pick of the Best Flip Foldable Smartphones in the region in 2024. Just like the Book-style list, our flip phone has the winner and the runner up. So read on to find out.

1. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: Best Flip Foldable Phone 2024

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

Samsung is one of the most recognizable names in the foldable phone segment, with its Flip series being quite popular. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is its latest clamshell folding device, and it is our choice of the best flip foldable phone in India. The South Korean tech giant’s Z Flip 6 is currently listed for Rs 101,999 and features a polished flip phone experience. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so you get flagship performance.

Thanks to its design, it has a compact and light weight body. The main screen is a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X panel (120Hz, FHD+, and 2600nits), while the cover display is a 3.4-inch AMOLED panel (60Hz, 1600nits). In our Galaxy Z Flip 6 review, we praised the design, performance, and AI powered features, which were also a major highlight. This model isn’t a big upgrade over its predecessor, but enhances the experience in many ways. It packs a new primary camera, a bigger battery, more RAM, and plenty of AI features. All of this packed together made it the best of 2024.

2. Motorola Razr 50 Ultra: Runner Up

Moto Razr 50 Ultra
Moto Razr 50 Ultra

Motorola launched the Razr 50 Ultra just before the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and it currently sells for just Rs 79,999 with Amazon bundling it with Moto Buds+. At this price, it can rival affordable flagships. While it is the runner up, the Razr is a great alternative to the Z Flip 6. The flip phone has a taller primary and cover display. The device sports a 6.9-inch main pOLED (165Hz, FHD+, 3000nits) and a 4-inch pOLED cover panel (165Hz, 2400nits).

Unlike the Z Flip 6, it is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip that also powers various flagship killer models. You get two 50MP rear cameras, a 4,000mAh battery pack with faster 45W wired fast charging (15W wireless charging as well), and an IPX8 rating. So while some of its specs are better than Samsung’s Flip, the latter brings has its own advantages along with a more polished experience.

Galaxy S25 to be the second Android to use this Wireless charging tech

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series, expected to debut in January 2024, is set to introduce a notable update for wireless charging enthusiasts: support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard. This new technology promises more efficient wireless charging, thanks to the integration of magnets that align the device and charger.

For context, Apple has supported Qi2 wireless charging since the iPhone 12 series. But the HMD Skyline is the only Android phone that currently supports the Qi2 standard. Samsung’s decision to integrate Qi2 into its flagship devices is expected to make a significant impact on the broader Android ecosystem.

The Galaxy S25 series’ adoption of Qi2 will enable faster, more efficient wireless charging up to 15W. However, it’s worth noting that Qi2 support will be limited to 15W charging speed, which is relatively modest compared to the wired charging speeds many Android phones now offer.

Wired charging speed and battery capacity:

While the Qi2-based magnetically attachable wireless charging is a highlight, it seems Samsung isn’t prioritizing significant advancements in wired charging speed for the Galaxy S25 series.

According to the FCC database, the Galaxy S25 model will continue to use the EP-TA800 charging adapter, which supports only 25W fast charging. This is a far cry from its competitors, which have reached much faster-wired charging speeds. Even Apple has matched Samsung’s wired charging rates in recent years.

Galaxy S25 Ultra (2)

On the other hand, the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra models are expected to feature 45W fast charging, offering a faster option for users who prefer wired charging.

In terms of battery capacity, it seems that Samsung is not planning to make any major changes either. Unlike most of its Chinese competitors, which have adopted the Si/C battery tech (that results in much higher capacity within the same volume), According to a previous rumor, Samsung will stick to the same battery capacities as the S24 series, which means only iterative improvement in battery life that is due to the more efficient and more expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Best Book-style Foldable Smartphones in India 2024

Foldable smartphones have always pushed the boundary with design and next-gen models have offered impressive features. So now, here’s our pick of the Best Book-style Foldable Smartphones in India. These models are ultra premium foldable that launched in the region in 2024, so let’s check them out.

You can also read our Best of 2024 list for mid-range and affordable flagship smartphones as well.

1. Vivo X Fold 3 Pro: Best Flagship Foldable Phone in India 2024

Vivo X Fold 3 Pro
Vivo X Fold 3 Pro

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro debuted in India back in June 2024 and it is our pick for the best book-style foldable smartphone in India. Having used this device quite a bit, I was pretty impressed by the overall package. It has a hefty Rs 159,999 (roughly 1,885 US Dollars) for the 512GB option. It measures an ultra thin 5.2mm when unfolded (11.2mm when closed) and weighs 236 grams. This is pretty heavy but this isn’t surprising for its form factor.

The Chinese brand made impressive upgrades to the design with a carbon fiber hinge, reasonable width and heft, and a premium feel. Vivo X Fold 3 Pro’s primary screen is a tall 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2K+ resolution, and more, while the cover panel is a 6.53-inch has similar specs but with a 1.5K resolution. Under the hood, it packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for flagship performance and a massive 5,700mAh battery pack for great battery life. You also get 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support.

So even if you take away the folding design, Vivo still offers true flagship grade hardware. While foldable smartphones bring a unique design, they are not well known for battery life or cameras. But the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has a decent battery life and the same camera setup as the Vivo X100 series. To recall, the X100 lineup is the brand’s last gen flagship phone. So the camera setup can hold its own against most devices in the market.

2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Runner Up

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung is the runner up in this category with its Galaxy Z Fold 6. The South Korean tech giant is a veteran in this category and is the most popular brand for foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 was relatively well-received but it only offered slight upgrades over its predecessor. So the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro took the spot as the Vest Book-style Foldable Smartphone of 2024.

As of right now, this model retails for just over Rs 152,000 but this is for the base 256GB option. So it is more expensive for a similar storage configuration. The Z Fold 6 packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, enhanced armor aluminum design, and even an under-display selfie camera on the primary screen. You can expect a well rounded foldable phone experience but the camera setup and battery specs are a slight letdown.

Huawei’s Android-independent HarmonyOS NEXT runs Android apps just fine! Here’s How

Huawei’s HarmonyOS NEXT operating system (which powers the Mate 70 series) has been creating a buzz recently for its bold step away from Android. As the first version of Huawei’s OS to not rely on Android AOSP (Android Open Source Project), many users assumed it would be limited to the native HarmonyOS apps available in Huawei’s AppGallery.

This was seen as a potential downside since Huawei‘s app store doesn’t offer as vast a selection as Google’s Play Store. However, new developments reveal a surprising twist—HarmonyOS NEXT devices can indeed run Android apps, and here’s how.

Android emulator “EasyAbroad”

How HarmonyOS NEXT runs Android apps:

Although HarmonyOS NEXT does not use any Android code, instead relying on the Harmony kernel, it still manages to run Android apps. A beta tester recently shared on Reddit that an Android emulator called “EasyAbroad” can be found on Huawei’s AppGallery. This emulator was designed specifically for Huawei users working outside of China, who need access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) to use popular Android apps like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, and more.

With the “EasyAbroad” tool, users can install these Android apps directly onto their HarmonyOS NEXT device, though with some limitations. The Android apps are contained within a separate app store that appears as a folder on the home screen. While users can run these apps from within the folder, they cannot place them as regular icons on their main screen. Additionally, users may encounter issues with receiving notifications from those Android apps, which could affect the overall experience.

The key behind this functionality is microG, a free, open-source replacement for Google Play Services, which allows Android apps to function without requiring a Google account or direct connection to Google’s servers. This solution ensures that most Android apps run smoothly, even without access to the full Google ecosystem.

This development is significant for Huawei users, as it provides a workaround for the limited app ecosystem available on HarmonyOS NEXT. While Huawei’s AppGallery is growing, it still lacks the extensive range of apps found on Google’s Play Store. The ability to run Android apps means that users can enjoy the best of both worlds: the exclusive features of HarmonyOS, combined with the ability to emulate Android apps that are not on Huawei’s platform yet.

However, Realme Vice President, President of Global Marketing, and President for China, Xu Qi Chase, has confirmed that the Neo 7’s base variant will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Camera FV-5 listing reveals a Disappointing detail

leaks and rumors continue to surface about Samsung‘s much anticipated Galaxy S25 Ultra. One of the most recent updates comes from the Camera FV-5 platform, which has revealed key details about the camera system. As the flagship model in Samsung’s Galaxy S-series, the S25 Ultra will include a quad-camera setup, an upgraded chipset, and the signature S Pen support.

Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2

Camera specifications revealed

The latest certification listing on the Camera FV-5 platform confirms that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 12.5MP camera. The camera will have an equivalent focal length of 23.2mm, an actual focal length of 6.3mm, and and aperture of f/1.7, offering excellent light capture capabilities. Judging from the focal lengths, we can say that this is the 200MP main sensor, which uses 16-1 pixel binning for 12.5MP output, just like last year.

As you can expect, the main camera will include support for both Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and OIS for stable video recording and motion blur-less images. According to the listing, the main sensor supports a wide ISO range of 12-3200, and a manual exposure range of 1/11,977 to 1/6.

The listing also shows support for both JPEG and DNG picture formats, with auto and manual focusing options. However, the Camera FV-5 listing only mentions one sensor and more details on the other cameras are yet to be fully confirmed.

The 200MP main sensor (expected to be the same sensor as S24 Ultra) is rumored to be paired with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (up from S24 Ultra‘s 12MP ultrawide), a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. This is rather disappointing that there are no major changes in camera hardware except from the ultrawide.

What else to expect?

Beyond the camera updates, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to come with significant upgrades in other areas as well. The device will ship with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset across all regions, providing faster performance and better efficiency. Additionally, there are rumors that the phone will be available with a new 16GB RAM option, offering more multitasking power than the 12GB option available on the S24 Ultra. If true, it will mainly benefit the processing of on-device AI features.

Another notable change is the design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is almost confirmed to feature rounded corners similar to the other models in the lineup for better grip. Dummy units also suggest a slightly narrower overall profile, which, again, makes it more comfortable to grip.

Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra configurations leaked, Ultra variant receives NBTC certification

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones in January 2025. With few weeks remaining for the launch, the S25 models are expected to surface in different certification platforms across the globe. In a new development, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has emerged in the database of the NBTC certification platform of Thailand. At the same time, a reliable leaker has revealed the configurations of the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra NBTC certified

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra NBTC certified in Thailand

As can be seen above, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has emerged with model number SM-S938B/DS in NBTC’s database (via. stufflistings). To recall, the Galaxy S24 Ultra appeared in NBTC’s database in November 2023 before debuting in January 2025. Therefore, it is very likely that S25 Ultra may break cover in January 2025.

In related news, leaker Arsène Lupin has revealed that the Galaxy S25 will be available in 128 GB and 256 GB storage choices, and the S25+ will arrive in 256 GB and 512 GB variants. The S25 Ultra is tipped to come in three storage choices, such as 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. The leak does not specify the RAM details for these phones. However, it appears that the entire lineup may offer 12 GB of RAM.

Another source, Jukanlosreve, has claimed that the 256 GB variant of the S25 Ultra will have 12 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the 512 GB and 1 TB variants will have 16 GB of RAM. The S25 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. There have been reports that the S25 and S25+ will also have the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but there’s a possibility that both phones may arrive with the Exynos 2500 chip in some markets or all regions.

One UI 7 beta program

The long wait finally comes to an end as Samsung has already begun distributing the first One UI 7 beta, based on Android 15. There are very few recipients now, but the list should be longer in the coming days and weeks.

One of the most exciting features of One UI 7 is the new live activity pill “Now Bar” on a revamped lock screen. There are also new app icons, a new camera interface, smoother animations, and more flexibility in widgets. One UI 7 beta separates the notifications and quick panel, depending on which part of the status bar you’re swiping down from — left of the selfie camera for notifications and right for quick settings. A host of Galaxy AI features are also there. Plus, there is improved PC integration with the ability to use your phone as a webcam, among many other changes.

One UI 7 is an exciting upgrade, but the stable rollout isn’t happening until early 2025. However, the One UI 7 beta program lets you enjoy the newest software ahead of the public release. Here, we’ve shared two ways to get One UI 7 beta on your Samsung Galaxy.

The next step is to check if you currently belong to a region where the beta program is live: Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. If yes, you can use the Samsung Members to get One UI 7 beta (check method #1); otherwise, you may have to sideload it (check method #2).

9. Type in the following command and hit Enter to check if your phone is connected to the PC:

adb devices

If you see a random string of characters below the list of devices attached, it means the ADB connection is successful, and you’re good to go. If not, unplug the USB cable and connect it again.

10. Run this command to boot your phone into recovery:

adb reboot recovery

11. Using the volume down button on your phone, navigate to Apple update from ADB and press the side/power button.

12. Run the following command to sideload One UI 7 beta ZIP:

adb sideload update.zip

13. Wait for the process to finish.

Your Samsung Galaxy S24 should boot into One UI 7 beta within a few minutes.

So, these are two ways to install One UI 7 beta on the Galaxy S24 series. If you face any trouble during the installation, share your query in the comments below. We’ll try to respond at the earliest.

The much-anticipated Huawei Mate 70 Pro has officially arrived, and we’ve got the unboxing and hands-on video ready for you! A year after the release of the highly successful Mate 60 Pro, Huawei has once again pushed the boundaries with its latest flagship. With refined features and a fresh design, the Mate 70 Pro aims to establish itself as one of the best smartphones in Huawei’s history.

Here’s a closer look at what we discovered during the unboxing and our initial hands-on experience.

1. Unboxing the Mate 70 Pro

Huawei-Mate-70-Pro-unboxing

The Mate 70 Pro comes in a well-organized box, containing the essential accessories: a SIM card pin, manual, clear PC case, USB-C to USB-C cable, and a 100W charger. As you can see, the charger still uses Huawei’s unique two-in-one port. The contents are neatly packed, and overall, the unboxing experience sets the tone for the premium device that lies ahead.

2. Design and build

Huawei-Mate-70-Pro-bakck-design

The Mate 70 Pro continues Huawei’s legacy of excellent design. While the device’s rear camera module bumps up slightly more than expected, the overall design is sleek and harmonious. notably, the phone has a rounded frame that’s comfortable to hold.

The Mate 70 Pro has also earned IP69 certification, offering both high-temperature and high-pressure waterproofing.

The phone’s battery capacity has increased to 5,500mAh, and the wireless and wired charging capabilities have been slightly upgraded from the Mate 60 Pro. However, the fingerprint sensor has been relocated from under the display to the power button. While this may seem like a downgrade, the 3D TOF face unlock feature remains intact, providing another reliable unlocking option that most Android devices lack.

3. Performance: the new Kirin 9020 chipset

The Kirin 9020 chipset is an upgrade in both CPU and GPU frequencies. While the overall boost isn’t groundbreaking, it delivers a smooth experience for day-to-day tasks. Gaming performance still lags behind other flagship devices, though you may benefit from the frame interpolation tech with compatible games. Overall, the Mate 70 Pro is a reliable choice for everyday users. Here’s everything you need to know about the new chip.

4. HarmonyOS NEXT:

Huawei-Mate-70-Pro-HarmonyOS-NEXT

The HarmonyOS NEXT update marks a significant shift in Huawei’s ecosystem, with the operating system now resembling iOS in many ways and being independent of Android. However, it comes at the cost of some freedom, as AOSP apps cannot be installed. Huawei users outside of China can rest easy, though, as the EMUI version (for global markets) will continue to be used globally, ensuring full compatibility. Here’s more about how HarmonyOS NEXT is different from Android.

5. Display and camera:

Telephoto macro shot

The Mate 70 Pro features a quad-curved display with support for 600 nits of manual peak brightness and up to 1,600 nits in high-brightness mode. The screen provides vibrant colors, fitting nicely into the flagship category.

On the photography front, Huawei has made significant upgrades. The Mate 70 Pro now includes an ultra-wide camera with higher resolution, a telephoto camera with a larger aperture, and an ultra-chroma camera for more accurate white balance. In our tests, the camera performed exceptionally well, producing stunning macro shots thanks to its telephoto lens. The added detail and color accuracy make the Mate 70 Pro one of the best camera phones on the market.

6. Conclusion: big upgrades with small changes

In conclusion, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro brings major upgrades in areas like camera performance and system enhancements, while other aspects, such as the design and display, see minor tweaks.

Watch our full unboxing and hands-on video for a more detailed look at the Mate 70 Pro in action. If you’re considering a Huawei smartphone, the Mate 70 Pro may just be the phone to beat.

Realme’s 8,000mAh battery phone could be in works, while iQOO, Redmi, OnePlus developing 7,000mAh battery phones

Later this week, Realme will launch the Realme Neo 7, an affordable flagship phone, in China. The major attraction of this device is that it packs a massive 7,000mAh battery.  New leaks by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station reveal that multiple brands are planning to launch 7,000mAh battery phones in China. He has also revealed that one of the brands is considering launching an 8,000mAh battery phone.

Realme considers launching 8,000mAh battery phone

As can be seen above, DCS has revealed that Realme may launch a phone with an 8,000mAh battery in the future. Currently, it is still in the verification phase and might not be finalized. He also revealed that iQOO, Redmi, and OnePlus are gearing up to launch 7,000mAh battery phones.

Based on information sourced from the supply chain, DCS revealed that an upcoming iQOO phone will come with a battery of around 7,000mAh capacity. Additionally, it will sport a high-resolution 2K LTPS Samsung flat display equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal the name of the device. The mysterious phone is expected to launch in 2025 in China. At present, there is no information about the 7,000mAh battery phones from Redmi and OnePlus.

Recently, iQOO launched the iQOO 13 with a 6,000mAh battery, and Realme unveiled the Realme GT 7 Pro with a 5,800mAh battery in India and some other markets. These phones have slightly smaller batteries compared to their Chinese counterparts. The iQOO 13, available in China, packs a 6,150mAh battery, whereas the Realme GT 7 Pro features a larger 6,500mAh battery. It is unclear whether the reduction in battery size outside China could be due to regulatory constraints.

The Realme Neo 7 and other phones with 7,000mAh batteries are expected to launch in markets outside of China. It remains to be seen whether their global versions will arrive with the same battery size or if it will be reduced due to various factors.
