Nan stated that the iPhone maker is working on a new pair of &#8220;8K glasses.&#8221;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-439554 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-25-135845.png?x10805" alt="Apple" width="617" height="218" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-25-135845.png 617w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-25-135845-300x106.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px" /></p>
<p>The former Chinese smartphone maker&#8217;s executive shared the information on his official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website). In the social media post, Li Nan shared this news to address those who still &#8220;had doubts&#8221; regarding the Metaverse. In other words, this product from the Cupertino based giant will be a a VR/AR headset that will allow users to enter the metaverse. Unfortunately, he refrained from revealing any other finer details regarding this matter.</p>
<p>However, this is in line with our previous reports that also stated that Apple is working on its first ever VR headset that is set to launch soon. Initially, it was believed that the headset will launch later this year, but recent rumors hint at a delayed release in 2023. Apparently, the VR headset from Apple will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/26/apple-ar-headset-launch-2022-with-mac-performance/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">feature performance that matches M1 Macs</a> and will also use the same<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/11/apple-vr-headset-use-macbook-pros-96w-adapter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> 96W USB Type C</a> as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/macbook-pro-14-inch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">14 inch MacBook Pro</a>. Now, the ex-Meizu official also hints at its native 8K resolution support.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-436608 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300.png?x10805" alt="Apple" width="682" height="385" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300.png 682w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300-300x169.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px" /></p>
<p>Known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the brand’s headset will house two processors, one of which is a 5nm based chip while the other is a smaller 4nm based chipset. Both of these processors will be manufactured by the world’s largest contract chipmaker, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tsmc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">TSMC</a>. The higher end chipset will offer computing power that rivals M1 chips in the new Macs, while the lower end processor would be dedicated towards the various sensors and related components of the headset. It is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

From the old box-shaped CRT television that could only show &#8220;black and white&#8221; video, to the current market standard of slim and big-screen smart TVs that are able to show over 10 billion colours on screen at Full HD, 2K, 4K and if you are ambitious enough, 8K as well.</span></p>
<p>At <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/hisense/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hisense</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">’s official launch event for its first in-house 8K AI GPU chip on January 11, Hisense Vice President, Yu Zhitao boldly claimed that the television industry globally will undergo a massive wave of change in trends in the coming years. Yu claims that the picture quality of the TV shows and live streams shown on-screen will determine the purchase decision of an interested buyer to purchase the TV or not.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Popular TV manufacturer, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/hisense/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hisense</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> also foresees the coming future where TV manufacturers stop focusing to compete on screen size and sales numbers but instead focus on their smart graphics processing units(GPUs) and the sound system of their TVs due to changing consumer demands throughout the industry as a whole.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yu mentions the two important reasons why </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/hisense/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hisense</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> has this prediction for the future of the TV industry. The reasons are that the TV industry is already reaching the limit of bigger screens and because of TV manufacturers playing the game of price wars amongst each other.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-434959" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011.jpg?x10805" alt="LG" width="2040" height="1360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011.jpg 2040w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/cwelch_211209_4929_0011-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2040px) 100vw, 2040px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The trend of large-screen TVs in the industry is already popular due to many years of advertising from TV manufacturers saying that a larger TV allows for a more complete multimedia viewing experience. However, large-screen TVs have their limitations. When the screen is larger, and the shows are not upscaled to higher definitions, the consumers will start to notice the imperfections of their large-screen experience like more noticeable lower resolution, and colors being washed out due to lower pixel density. With that in mind, the GPU in a TV is more important than ever to enhance the TV watching experience.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yu mentions that the category of 75 inches and above large-screen TVs has grown exponentially in the past few years and that as we are approaching 100 inches for our TVs, users now need better GPU rendering than ever to upscale and support a higher resolution like 8K. Hisense is already prepared as it has just developed its first in-house 8K AI GPU chip recently.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-436486" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV.png?x10805" alt="" width="1230" height="820" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV.png 1230w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Sony-BRAVIA-XR-MASTER-Series-A95K-QD-OLED-TV-630x420.png 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1230px) 100vw, 1230px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The last reason is the fierce but unhealthy competition between TV manufacturers, which Hisense refers to as the TV price wars. To illustrate, TV manufacturers advertise their product as a large-screen TV at an affordable and cheap price tag, and this price-to-screen size ratio seems to be what they are only focusing on. The “bigger screens, lower price” trend has made the market value of the TV industry trend lower, the revenue stream of manufacturers to trend lower, and stifled innovation in the TV industry as well.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In the end, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/hisense/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hisense</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> emphasizes that if the TV industry transition to high-quality TVs that focus on other aspects like color accuracy, screen quality, and more complete sound systems, plus a transition from unhealthy pricing wars to healthy value wars (where the TV is bought on the basis of the value it provides to the viewing experience), then the industry will still have a future amongst other technology products like laptops, tablets, and smartphones as well.</span></p>

<p>According to a Deloitte report (Via <a href="http://www.thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=2121" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>TheElec</em></a>), the market share of 8K TVs across the globe is increasing in the premium TV segment. These include TVs that are on an average worth over 2,500 US Dollars, although, the sales price are continuing to drop as well. As per the report, around a million 8K TVs around the price of 3,300 US Dollars are expected to be sold this year, marking sales worth 3.3 billion US Dollars.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-323378 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled.jpg?x10805" alt="8K TV" width="2560" height="1440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>Despite the sale of these high resolution televisions being slow, their demand is also steadily growing in the premium segments. At the moment, about 220 million units of Tvs are sold per year, out of which a million only accounts for around 0.5 percent of the total shipments. Back when 4K TVs launched back in 2013, companies suffered from issues with mass exposure due to the lack of content supporting the high resolution.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/06/iphone-12-strong-sales-12-mini-disappoint-apple/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 12 series sees strong sales, but iPhone 12 mini might have ‘disappointed Apple’</a></strong></h6>
<p>However, Deloitte believes that the 8K TVs might not face the same issue as remastered analog and digital content that have enabled users to enjoy content in 8K. An example being Japan&#8217;s NHK showcasing a remastered version of the classic 2001: Space Odyssey in 8K back in 2018. Furthermore, most IMAX films that were filmed in 65 to 75mm can also be supported in 8K, while more and more movies and series are being filmed in high resolutions like 8K.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-273300 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/sharp-8k-tv-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Sharp 8K TV" width="600" height="423" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/sharp-8k-tv-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/sharp-8k-tv-2-300x212.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/sharp-8k-tv-2-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/sharp-8k-tv-2-596x420.jpg 596w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Notably, another aspect that is key to the growth of the high resolution panels is the difference in price between 4K and 8K TVs. Deloitte also believes that by 2022 users would be able to choose between multiple TV sizes over 65 inch as well, with 55 inch being one of the most popular options for 8K TVs, with projected shipments crossing 150 million units.</p>

This codec offers reduced file size and better quality, both of which are crucial to 4K and 8K UHD video capture in smartphones.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_278929" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-278929" style="width: 714px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-278929 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="714" height="416" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-featured.jpg 714w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-featured-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-featured-696x406.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-278929" class="wp-caption-text">Some smartphones already support 8K video recording</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>For those unaware, HEVC isn&#8217;t a relatively new video codec and has been around for a while. But despite its various positive aspects, the format had never been more widely adopted. The reason for this is the licensing situation around it. Attaining the licensing was apparently so complex that only 12 percent of the internet streaming services adopted HEVC.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/15/galaxy-s20-plus-scores-only-66-points-in-dxomark-audio-on-par-with-last-years-samsung-flagships/">Galaxy S20 Plus scores only 66 points in DxOMark Audio, On par with last year’s Samsung flagships</a></strong></h6>
<p>But now, a press released from Qualcomm, Samsung, and Huawei may push forward a better alternative to the HEVC video codec. In the press release, the trio stated that they will offer &#8220;fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory terms for their respective essential patent claims covering this standard.” In other words, the benefits of MPEG-5 EVC video standard could soon reach customers across various different platforms and even smartphones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-322906 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8K-810x298_c.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="810" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8K-810x298_c.jpg 810w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8K-810x298_c-300x110.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8K-810x298_c-768x283.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8K-810x298_c-696x256.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, a simplified licensing method could also imply wider adoption of MPEG-5 EVC over the existing HEVC. Notably, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Google</a> also offers its own royalty free <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/av1-codec/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">AV1 codec</a>, which is another alternative that is used in popular sites like YouTube, Netflix, and Facebook.</p>

It was recently announced with one of its highlighting features being the 8K hyperlapse capture. But unfortunately, it seems like the Mavic Air 2 currently suffers from some serious issues during the 8K hyperlapse mode.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6xKeRfjzNHo?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>For those unaware, the hyperlapse feature was first introduced for the Mavic 2 series of drones and allowed users to take a series of images while the drone is flying. These images are then combined into a time lapse videos with motion, with all of the processing being handled by the drone itself. This results in a few very picturesque and interesting captures.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/13/vivo-y70s-could-be-first-exynos-880-5g-powered-phone-geekbench-listing-spotted/">Vivo Y70s could be first Exynos 880 5G powered phone; Geekbench listing spotted</a></strong></h6>
<p>In the Mavic Air 2, the drone is capable of hyperlapse in 8K through its 48 megapixel camera. Although, it suffers from a few major issues, including a large amount of shake is visible in the captured video, which is only found in the 8K footage and not in 1080p. Furthermore, DJI hasn&#8217;t offered hyperlapse in 4K for some unknown reason along with a prolonged 6 second gap in between 8K shots, in comparison to just 2 seconds on 1080p video capture.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-319654 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3.png?x10805" alt="DJI Mavic Air 2" width="714" height="505" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3.png 714w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3-300x212.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3-696x492.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/dji-mavic-air-2-3-594x420.png 594w" sizes="(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px" /></p>
<p>The issues don&#8217;t end there, as the 8K hyperlapse can sometimes get corrupted. The reason for this is the method of capture, as the DJI Mavic Air 2 uses four 12 megapixel photos stitched together from its 48 megapixel camera. This sometimes results in a few video editing softwares not being able to detect or display up to 2 of the 4 stitched images, with Adobe Premiere Pro being the only program running the footage as intended.</p>

<h4>Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro design</h4>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.32-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-305281" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.32-PM.png?x10805" alt="Xiaomi mi 10 " width="544" height="561" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.32-PM.png 544w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.32-PM-291x300.png 291w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.32-PM-407x420.png 407w" sizes="(max-width: 544px) 100vw, 544px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro have near-identical designs. This includes a curved display on the front and a quad-camera setup place on the top left corner of the back. The company has reduced the chin on the display to just 3.32mm, offering a better screen to body ratio on the new models.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.17-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-305282" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.17-PM.png?x10805" alt="Xiaomi mi 10 Pro " width="552" height="577" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.17-PM.png 552w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.17-PM-287x300.png 287w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Screenshot-2020-02-13-at-1.45.17-PM-402x420.png 402w" sizes="(max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px" /></a></p>
<p>They measure 9mm in thickness with 4500mAh+ batteries on board. The only major difference in design between the two models is the additional Laser focus sensor at the back of the Pro model.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-305259" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 10 3-32mm chin" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Xiaomi-Mi-10-3-32mm-chin-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>Both the phones also feature a <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/punch-hole-camera">punch-hole camera</a> on the top left corner of the screen.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Display</h4>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro come with a 6.67-inch curved <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/AMOLED">AMOLED </a>display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The peak brightness on both the panels reach 1200 nits with a contrast of 5,000,000:1.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-305261" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled.jpg?x10805" alt="6-inch amoled" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/6-inch-amoled-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>In order to improve the automatic brightness adjustment on both the devices, the company has equipped them with dual front and rear light sensors. This will ensure that the phone&#8217;s brightness is controlled well offering a pleasant viewing experience, indoors as well as outdoors.</p>
<p>The Mi 10 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED panel with a JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference) of less than 0.55. The company claims that the Pro&#8217;s display is superior to both the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11-pro-max/"> iPhone 11 Pro Max</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-pro-5g/">Mate 30 Pro 5G</a>. Also, Xiaomi adds that the panel&#8217;s △ E (delta E color difference) is 1.1 which once again makes it better than the iPhone and Huawei flagship models.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Specs</h4>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Pro models come with the 7nm octa-core Snapdragon 865 under the hood with up to 12GB of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/LPDDR5">LPDDR5</a> RAM, and UFS 3.0 storage. Both Xiaomi Mi 10 models support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/8K">8K</a> video recording, OIS, and EIS. They feature AI scene recognition, super night mode, and a variety of movie modes for video shooting.Since they come with 108MP super high-resolution cameras, Xiaomi has added support for the new HEIF file format. So, both the models are capable of capturing images in HEIF instead of JPEG, which will reportedly save storage space by up to 50 percent.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-305257" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format.jpg?x10805" alt="HEIF file saving 50 pc format" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/HEIF-file-saving-50-pc-format-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The cameras also feature a special document and ID scanner mode which removes shadows and makes the resulting images look like a scanned copy. This is a very handy tool for people who upload documents online regularly.</p>

Samsung is expected to be the first one to launch SD865-powered smartphone, debuting next week.</p>
<p>Now, ahead of the launch of first smartphone powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/05/snapdragon-865-mobile-platforms-specifications-confirmed/">Snapdragon 865</a> SoC, Qualcomm has shared a video sample shot in 8K resolution which was recorded using a hardware powered by the company&#8217;s flagship new chipset.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/y8hl2dElvOc?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> Snapdragon 865 SoC comes with Spectra 480 ISP which the company says can process 2 gigapixels per second. Sharing the video sample, Qualcomm said: <em>&#8220;Smartphones with the Snapdragon 865 can capture professional image quality and will pack exciting new camera features including 8K video capture. See the dramatic landscaped of Arizona in 8K video loaded with 33-megapixels! So it’s big, sharp, and shared in its full glory on YouTube.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>As for the hardware setup for shooting this 8K video, the company has revealed that it used the latest chipset paired with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/23/sony-imx586-image-sensor-announced/">Sony IMX586</a> 48MP sensor on a “prototype smartphone”.</p>

<p>The company has also clarified that the video was shot with pre-production hardware. Thus, the video also looks a bit noisy and grainy, which could also be due to YouTube compression or the actual hardware.</p>
<p>As for the upcoming smartphones, it is being reported that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s20-ultra">Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra</a> smartphone will come with support for recording video in 8K resolution with its 108-megapixel camera sensor. However, to know for sure, we&#8217;ll have to wait for one more week as the launch event is scheduled on 11th February.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> has confirmed its flagship 8K QLED TV for 2020, which launches with a new Infinity design that &#8220;eliminates the screen bezel&#8221;. Samsung&#8217;s 8K TV claims to be able to use up to 99% of the screen, while also measuring just 15mm thin and sporting a completely flat back panel. The new Samsung Q950TS will make an appearance at CES 2020.</p>
<p>First announced earlier today via Samsung’s Korean press site, the Q950TS is surely going to be one of the star attractions over at CES 2020 thanks to its truly stunning design. The lack of a true bezel surrounding the screen makes it look like the picture is floating, and it&#8217;s a mindblowingly impressive feat to accomplish for the company.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR’S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/samsung-lg-smart-fridges-come-with-ai-large-see-through-displays/">Samsung &amp; LG Smart Fridges come with AI &amp; Large See-through displays</a></strong></h6>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-299019" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p>The Q950TS uses a new AI quantum processor promising enhancements to the picture, sound and smart TV features. A key area of improvement is said to be the upscaling of lower resolution content to fit the 8K screen, which is very necessary ahead of the broad availability of 8K content. That said, the 2020 Samsung 8K QLED will be able to stream 8K video from YouTube, thanks to support for YouTube&#8217;s 8K AV1 codec.</p>
<p>The company isn’t providing all the details about its new flagship model at this time, but we do know that it features a large number of modes and capabilities, including Adaptive Picture for optimizing the contrast and brightness levels, AI ScaleNet for reducing data loss during streaming from Prime Video and ‘Object Tracking Sound Plus’ tech for tracking audio with moving objects on the screen.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-299017" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-3.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="650" height="366" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-3.jpg 650w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Q950TS-3-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p>Speaking of audio, the Q950TS is pretty impressive on that front as well. Samsung Q-Symphony promises to combine both the TV and soundbar&#8217;s speakers for the best possible sound in up to 9.1.4 channels of audio, while AVA (Active Voice Amplifier) allows the TV to recognise ambient noise and adjust the volume accordingly. No more missed dialogue?</p>
<p>In addition to ‘Multi View,’ which is a picture-in-picture and side-by-side viewing option, this 8K TV model features Tap View for mirroring content from a phone, Digital Butler for controlling other devices, and ‘TV Plus,’ a free streaming service with access to content like news and movies.</p>
<p>For voice control, in addition to Samsung&#8217;s not-so-popular Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are also available on this Samsung 8K TV. Samsung is delivering the main CES 2020 keynote on Sunday 5th January where it is expected to reveal more details on its 2020 product line-up.</p>

<p>A new discovery made by <em>XDA-Developers</em> reveals that Xiaomi&#8217;s next flagship may support 8K video recording. That isn&#8217;t exactly special since there are a few phones already that can do that such as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-z20/">Nubia Z20</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nubia-red-magic-3s/">Red Magic 3s</a>. However, unlike the aforementioned phones, this unknown Xiaomi phone will record at 30fps and not 15fps.</p>
<p>The discovery was made in the teardown of the MIUI Camera app in the recently released <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/miui-11">MIUI 11</a> beta update for China. A string in the APK teardown shows that the phone will be able to record 8K (4320) at 30fps. The teardown also includes an image of 8K 30FPS which will most likely be an icon in the app when you switch to the recording mode.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278928" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi-8k-video-recording" width="800" height="295" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-300x111.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-768x283.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-8k-video-recording-696x257.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>It is speculated that 8K video recording should be an easy feat for the next Qualcomm flagship processor &#8211; the SNapdragon 865. With the upgraded ISP, 4320@30fps should be achievable.</p>
<p>The name of the device is unknown and we won&#8217;t be surprised if the feature also makes its way to Redmi&#8217;s next flagship phone too which should be the Redmi K30 Pro.</p>

Photos of the visit went up on Weibo, and that would&#8217;ve been it, but that&#8217;s not the case this time. Eagle-eyed Weibo netizens found that one of the images featured a rather interesting detail. One of the monitors featured an image showing that a new product would have &#8220;all around 8K support&#8221;.</p>
<p>At present, most models of Xiaomi Mi TVs have 4K resolutions. If a new Mi TV comes with an 8K resolution, then that firmly places it on the high-end of Xiaomi&#8217;s TV lineup. The last product to come out of Xiaomi&#8217;s TV factory was the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/29/redmi-tv-launched-china/">Redmi TV</a>, which had solidly mid-range pricing, so a new high-end Mi TV with a matching price-tag wouldn&#8217;t be a stretch.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276033" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/350af22c155d4c8da9ee931b33050d34.png?x10805" alt="" width="670" height="758" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/350af22c155d4c8da9ee931b33050d34.png 670w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/350af22c155d4c8da9ee931b33050d34-265x300.png 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/350af22c155d4c8da9ee931b33050d34-371x420.png 371w" sizes="(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276034" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/s_19fcd87154d84141aa2e188600907651.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="600" height="345" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/s_19fcd87154d84141aa2e188600907651.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/s_19fcd87154d84141aa2e188600907651-300x173.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>We already know that Xiaomi will be launching a new Mi TV in India on September 17th. While we aren&#8217;t sure if a new 8K Mi TV will make an appearance there, we can&#8217;t rule out the possibility that it might happen. After all, what better way to announce 8K support than with official Netflix 8K content support?</p>
<p>It seems like the Chinese smart TV market is reaching a boiling point in terms of popularity. OnePlus is preparing to launch its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/12/oneplus-tv-september-26-rumor/">maiden smart TV on September 26th</a> with a premium offering, and Honor has already taken a deep dive with the Honor SmartVision. It would be interesting to see Xiaomi attempt to regain ground by being the first with 8K Mi TVs.</p>

Over the years, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia">Nubia</a> has become a brand known for its beautiful symmetrical design and thin bezels. So the company has ensured that its latest model, the Nubia Z20 lives up to the brand&#8217;s reputation by adopting a dual-display design to get rid of the notch. This means no boring waterdrop or even waterfall notches, no cut-out front cameras or even no pop-up selfie shooters. Basically, the phone doesn&#8217;t have a front camera at all, and that&#8217;s a good thing.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s take a close look at what it has to offer.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269108" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured.png?x10805" alt="nubia z20 featured" width="875" height="691" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured.png 875w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured-300x237.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured-768x607.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured-696x550.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-featured-532x420.png 532w" sizes="(max-width: 875px) 100vw, 875px" /></a></p>
<p>Nubia Z20&#8217;s design language is clearly inspired by its older sibling, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nubia-x/">Nubia X</a>. The phone was the first model from the brand to experiment with a dual-display design and that seems to have turned out successful for them. So the new Z20 features two curved displays, a primary 6.42-inch 2340 x 1080p <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED</a> screen on the front, and one secondary 5.1-inch 1520 x 720p AMOLED screen at the back. This design allows the rear camera setup to act as the selfie shooter as well, offering the best camera experience on both the ends. What&#8217;s even more interesting is that the phone continues to feature two fingerprint sensors on each side, just like the Nubia X. Clearly, the company has thought about the user experience, even when the secondary display is being used.</p>

</p>
<p>There are three colors available, Black, Blue, &amp; an Orange shade (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/06/nubia-z20-pantone-living-coral-color-render/">teased earlier</a>) inspired by Pantone&#8217; Living Coral color.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Nubia Z20&#8217;s Second Screen Is Useful</strong></h4>
<p>Overall, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia-z20">Nubia Z20</a> looks like an extension of the Nubia X rather than being a completely new product. And that&#8217;s not necessarily a bad thing. The secondary display still supports DIY AOD customizations. That means you can tweak the screen to customize the phone to make it more personal. Given that the rear screen stays flush with the body, you can really get creative to add a personal touch to your smartphone&#8217;s design.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269101" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature.png?x10805" alt="Nubia Z20 dual AOD feature" width="1148" height="726" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature.png 1148w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-300x190.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-768x486.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-1024x648.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-696x440.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-1068x675.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-AOD-feature-664x420.png 664w" sizes="(max-width: 1148px) 100vw, 1148px" /></a></p>
<p>Plus, the phone supports Dual screen AOD. This means you can customize the phone to feature two different AOD screens, one on the front, and another one on the back. This could bring out some really creative combinations among users, which will definitely be fun to watch in the coming days. Another way to make the second screen personal is by configuring it to feature custom patterns, or cool lights to make it stand out from other phones.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-multitasking.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269109" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-multitasking.png?x10805" alt="Nubia Z20 multitasking" width="692" height="547" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-multitasking.png 692w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-multitasking-300x237.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-multitasking-531x420.png 531w" sizes="(max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px" /></a></p>
<p>And of course, two screens equal two simultaneous apps. So, you can multi-task pretty easily on the phone. For example, you can simply bring up a QR code on the second screen while you are watching a series on the primary screen. Or you could reply to a text by switching over to the second screen while reading an article. Nubia&#8217;s UI ensures that the second screen has quick access to important apps like payments and public transportation for a seamless user experience.</p>
<p>The second screen is also an additional touch input. For example, the second screen can act as a virtual button without the need for any other accessories or trigger buttons (like this<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/06/flydigi-wasp-2-kit-review-video-the-best-gamepad-for-android/"> cool accessory we reviewed for Android phones</a>).</p>
<p>Finally, the secondary display is also how you take selfies. The powerful triple rear cameras are at your disposal for selfies, ensuring high-quality portraits and videos.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Nubia Z20 Focuses On Its Camera</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269105" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera.png?x10805" alt="nubia z20 camera" width="917" height="408" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera.png 917w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera-300x133.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera-768x342.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nubia-z20-camera-696x310.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 917px) 100vw, 917px" /></a></p>
<p>Nubia has given extra attention to the Z20&#8217;s camera this time. The phone features a triple camera setup at the back featuring a Sony IMX 586 48MP primary sensor with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ois">OIS</a>, a 16MP wide-angle 122.2-degree lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The setup is aided by not one, but two dual-tone flashes on each side. The camera is capable of 3x <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/optical-zoom">optical zoom</a>, 30x digital zoom, 2.5cm super macro image shooting, and a powerful handheld night mode. Like teased earlier, the Z20 also supports <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/8K">8K</a> video recording.</p>
<p>As for the other specs, the phone comes with the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon">Snapdragon</a> 855 Plus processor clocked at 2.96GHz, Adreno 640 GPU, 6+128GB / 8+128/ 256GB memory variants, and a large 4000mAh battery with 27W charging.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Nubia Z20 Pricing &amp; Availability</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269106" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens.png?x10805" alt="Nubia Z20 dual screens" width="1132" height="806" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens.png 1132w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-300x214.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-768x547.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-1024x729.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-696x496.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-1068x760.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nubia-Z20-dual-screens-590x420.png 590w" sizes="(max-width: 1132px) 100vw, 1132px" /></a></p>

The Chinese company is planning to release its first <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/5G">5G</a> TV as early as this year, in order to offer a complete ecosystem of hi-tech products. According to a popular media site, the Asian giant will release a TV with a 5G chipset and flagship-class specifications, including an 8K display and several smart features. Thanks to such a TV, people would be able to download 360-degree videos, VR content and other heavy video content in a short time, and they won&#8217;t even need a local connection, nor cable TV or satellite broadcast services in order to find a lot of content with outstanding quality.</p>
<p>Thanks to the 5G connectivity, the Huawei TV will also behave like a hub for smart home appliances. A 5G TV is definitely a step forward to take on <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a>&#8216;s business which is one of the most important TV manufacturers in the world, as well as its main competitor in the smartphones market. Samsung has already released <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/8K">8K</a> TVs, but the Korean giant still does not have a 5G-enabled TV in its catalog. Besides trying to launch the first 5G TV, Huawei is also looking to conquer the PC market.</p>

<p>Indeed, Huawei is aiming to enter the top five PC makers by 2021 and it will increase its shipments up to 3x times this year. According to Nikkei, the company is even developing its own CPUs for laptops, just like it does with smartphones through its HiSilicon business. Huawei is currently the world&#8217;s second <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/01/counterpoint-huawei-joins-list-of-contributors-to-2018s-high-end-smartphone-market-growth/">smartphones manufacturer</a> and it entered the PC market in 2017 with the MateBook series including ultrabooks which can be defined as more affordable competitors of MacBooks. In 2018, the company shipped more than one million PCs.</p>

The South Korean consumer tech giant just confirmed that there are at least two 8K (one 88-inch OLED Z9 model and another 75-inch LCD SM99 model) TVs coming our way next week.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-230519" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg?x10805" alt="LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-2019" width="956" height="636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg 1263w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-1024x681.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 956px) 100vw, 956px" /></a></p>
<p>While 8K TVs still have a lot of time to become mainstream, not to mention the lack of such high-resolution content available in the market, the new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/8K">8K</a> TV range from LG boasts of being the first set of TVs to support the latest HDMI 2.1 standard. The new HDMI standard brings new features as well as increased bandwidth allowing for 8K 60fps playback. However, what&#8217;s even more interesting is that the new standard also boosts 4K signals to 120fps, which should allow for better, blur-free playback. Other features of the new standard include an enhanced audio return channel (eARC), variable refresh rate (VRR), and an automatic low latency mode (ALLM).</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In addition to the built-in Google Assistant, the new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/LG">LG</a> 2019 TVs will come with Amazon Alexa and the company&#8217;s Thinq AI as well. There&#8217;s a dedicated Amazon Prime Video button on the TV&#8217;s magic remote to handle smart home as well as various other tasks like changing channels, setting up wake up calls, checking traffic information and so on, all using voice commands.</p>
<p>The company has a press conference scheduled for January 7, just before <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/CES-2019">CES 2019</a> kicks off. For more details, hit the source link below!</p>
