<p>In a new corporate restructuring, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has decided to set up a business headquarters in Africa as the company is looking to boost its smartphone sales in the region. To boost up sales of its products in Africa, the company will partner with Jumia Technologies, which is a leading pan-African e-commerce operator.</p>

<p>As per the report, initially, a limited number of products will be made available on Jumia&#8217;s e-commerce platform, which will include Xiaomi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-a3/">Mi A3</a>, Mi 9, Redmi 7 as well as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/17/xiaomi-mi-smart-band-4-launched-india/">Mi Band</a> fitness tracker.</p>
<p>Further, to strengthen its position in the market, the company is also expected to deploy an offline sales strategy and will be granting distribution rights of its handsets in Africa to China-based integrated platform service provider Shenzhen Keting Digital Technology.</p>

<p>During the Global Sources Mobile Electronics 2019, to solicit potential buyers and particularly those from Africa, Shenzhen Keting Digital Technology was showcasing a range of products from Xiaomi as well as its sub-brand <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi">Redmi</a>.</p>
<p>The company has been helping Xiaomi as well as other Chinese brand Gionee to distribute their handsets in a number of markets in Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana and Rwanda.</p>
<p>As for the African market, it is being estimated that the smartphone shipments in the region are expected to top 100 million units by the end of this year. China-based Transsion Holdings is expected to take the largest market share of around 35 percent. Samsung Electronics will rank second with a 23 percent market share and Huawei will get third place with 10 percent market share.</p>
