HP announced another Snapdragon X Elite-powered lightweight AI PC: the EliteBook Ultra G1q

HP EliteBook Ultra G1q specs and features:

This laptop comes in a “atmospheric blue” color, measures 14.22mm in thickness, and weighs only 1.349kg. The laptop packs a 14″ 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS touchscreen with an anti glare finish. It goes up to 300 nits, comes with 100% sRGB, and Low Blue Light certification. It is paired with a backlit full-size keyboard with HP Imagepad, that matches the color of the laptop.

Just like the OmniBook X, this laptop is also powered by the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 chipset. It equips 12-Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores that reaches up to 3.4GHz, an Adreno GPU (3.8 TFLOPS), and Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU that powers AI features. The advantage of a power efficient chipset is that it enables manufactures to offer lightweight machines with less aggressive heat dissipation system.

With the AI capabilities, this laptop reportedly offers a background blur and a virtual background feature for video calls. It also offers temporal noise reduction for calls.

This is paired with a 16GB LPDDR5X-8400MHz soldered memory and 512GB or 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD.

There are four stereo speakers and dual microphones paired with Poly Studio support. For video calling you get a 5MP webcam.

It packs a 59 Whr battery and comes with a 65W Type-C fast charger.

For wired connectivity it offers the following ports:

HP announces Snapdragon X Elite powered 14″ 1.35kg OmniBook X laptop

HP has announced two new Snapdragon X Elite-powered Arm-based AI PCs – the OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra G1q. In this article, we will be discussing the HP OmniBook X, which offers a 14″ screen and weighs only 1.35kg.

HP OmniBook X AI PC specs and features:

This laptop comes in two different colors – Ceramic White and Meteor Silver. It offers you 512GB or 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, which is paired with a 16GB/32GB LPDDR5X 8448MHz memory.

The device is powered by the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 chipset, that goes up to 3.4GHz clock speed. Notably, there are two other variants (X1E-80-100, and X1E-84-100) that reaches even higher clock speeds. The chipset is claimed to be more efficient than the latest offerings from Intel and AMD.

Opening up the lid you will be looking at a 14″ 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS touchscreen that goes up to 300 nits and is certified for low blue light emission which should be comfortable for the eyes. The screen offers an 87.8% screen-to-body ratio. You can get an idea of the bezels from the image above.

There is a 5MP webcam for your video calling needs and a full-size backlit keyboard that matches the color of the laptop. For security, it offers you a Mic mute key and a camera privacy shutter.

The 1.35kg laptop packs a 59Whr battery pack and comes with a USB Type-C power adapter. According to the company, it charges up to 50% in 30 minutes.

With this laptop, you get the following ports:

The HP OmniBook X with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at $1,149 (~8319 Yuan) on the company’s website.

While the chipset is capable and efficient, the overall user experience will also depend on the native support and optimization of apps on the Windows on Arm platform. You can check if the specific apps you mainly use have native support on the WoA platform or not.

Lenovo to launch 7 new YOGA 2024 AI-enriched laptops in April

Lenovo is teasing a new YOGA 2024 lineup of AI PCs, which the company will release the new lineup at the Lenovo Innovation Technology Conference on April 18.

Lenovo YOGA Pro 9 16

Earlier we noticed the YOGA Pro 9 16 surfacing on Lenovo’s official website which equips the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor along with an RTX 4070 GPU, a 3.2K Mini LED display. This laptop weighs around 1.93kg and houses an 84Wh battery.

This 2024 version dual-screen laptop has now been upgraded to the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U. It comes with 16GB or 32GB memory and supports up to 1TB SSD. You will get dual 13.3″ OLED with 2880 x 1800 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The displays offer 400 nits of peak brightness and OGM touch and stylus support.

To power the system, it reportedly comes with 80Wh battery and 65W charging support. Surprisingly this dual screen machine weighs only 1.34kg.

YOGA Pro 7 14 & YOGA Slim 7 14

This machine will be available with both Intel and AMD chips – Core Ultra 7 155H/ Ryzen R7-8845HS.

The Intel version equips an RTX 4060 GPU and 32GB LPDDR5x RAM, while the AMD version equips an RTX 3050 GPU and 16GB LPDDR5x RAM.

Both of the versions come with a 3K 120Hz touch IPS screen, a 73Wh battery, and starts at 1.49kg.

The YOGA Slim 7 14 will be solely based on Intel and will equip the Core Ultra 7 155H chip along with a 14″ 1920 x 1200 resolution OLED panel. This laptop will reportedly weigh around 1.4kg and will offer 65W charging support.

This machine will be available with both Intel and AMD chips. It offers up to Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with 32GB LPDDER5x-7467 memory, or the Ryzen 7-8840HS with 16GB LPDDR5x-6400 memory.

Another key difference between the two is the display – the Intel version comes with a 2.8K 120Hz OLED, while the AMD version offers a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 60Hz OLED.

The YOGA 7 2-in-1 14 weighs 1.49kg and houses a 71Wh battery.

The YOGA 7 2-in-1 16 will also be available in both Intel and AMD versions with support for up to Intel Core Ultra 7 155U or the R7-8840HS. Just like the AMD version of the 14″ counterpart, this 16″ one will also offer a WUXGA 60Hz screen. Although it will be an IPS one instead of OLED. This bigger version of YOGA 7 2-in-1 weighs around 1.99kg and equips the same 71Wh battery.

Lenovo YOGA 9 2-in-1 14

Like the YOGA 7 2-in-1 14, this one also comes with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor and offers a 14″ 3840×2400 OLED panel. It houses a 75Wh battery and weighs around 1.3kg.

He underlined Lenovo’s strategic positioning to lead this transformation and expand the market through both performance enhancements and innovative breakthroughs.

Yang sees an AI-powered revolution coming to the PC industry, with the integration of large language models (LLMs) as a key driver of growth. He highlights that the already strong PC market is poised for further expansion as consumers seek AI-enabled computers.

Furthermore, Lenovo is reportedly planning to launch a new AI operating system later this year, which could compete with established systems like Microsoft’s Windows 11.
