Dyson has launched the AM15, its latest bladeless hot and cool fan, at a starting price of 3790 yuan ($534) in China. The new model delivers stronger airflow, lower noise, and smarter controls, positioning it as a refined upgrade over the previous-generation AM09.

Dyson AM15 Specifications

The AM15 uses Dyson’s Air Amplifier technology to generate a consistent stream of airflow. It pushes air at a rate of up to 290 liters per second, delivering faster and wider circulation across the room. Dyson claims the AM15 heats rooms 20% faster than earlier models, making it more efficient for winter use.

Dyson has redesigned the internal motor structure to reduce noise by 25%. The company added a built-in silencer and improved acoustic design to make the device suitable for use in quieter environments such as bedrooms. The fan also includes a sleep mode and a sleep timer. These functions reduce power output and dim the display at night.

The AM15 includes a smart thermostat that monitors room temperature and adjusts heating automatically. This allows the fan to shut off when the desired temperature is reached and restart when needed. Dyson says this feature reduces energy consumption by up to 30%. The device also features an automatic shutoff mechanism to prevent overheating or unsafe operation.

The fan sports smart connectivity through the MyDyson app. It lets users remotely control temperature, adjust heating or cooling modes, and pre-heat a room before arriving home on cold days. It features an LCD display that shows real-time temperature, airflow speed, target temperature, and other system information.

The AM15 supports 70 degrees of horizontal oscillation and 10 degrees of manual tilt adjustment. Its bladeless design eliminates exposed heating elements and makes cleaning easier. The body measures 152×115×585 millimeters and includes a thermoplastic housing for added safety.

Jsaux has announced a new accessory for Nintendo Switch 2 users who prefer handheld gaming. The company has launched a dedicated clip-on cooling fan designed to reduce the heat buildup that many users have reported during graphically intensive sessions.

Jsaux Cooling Fans for Switch 2 Specifications

The new cooling fan, model number GP0201A, attaches directly to the back of the Switch 2 using the bottom USB-C port. It is compatible with slim protective cases and is designed to work seamlessly in handheld mode without affecting grip comfort. The fan features a stepless knob-based control that allows users to adjust fan speed with precision, depending on the thermal load and gameplay intensity.

Jsaux claims the fan can lower the device’s temperature by 2 to 8 degrees Celsius within 4 to 8 minutes, helping the console maintain stable performance and reduce the chances of frame drops or crashes. During operation, it keeps the temperature in the range of 30 to 32°C, compared to reports of the Switch 2 reaching up to 40°C without cooling support.

The fan also includes a USB-C PD-in port rated at 18W, allowing users to charge the console while using the cooling module. Jsaux states that the charging speed through the fan is comparable to direct charging, so users will not need to compromise between thermal performance and battery life.

In terms of noise, the fan stays relatively quiet at low to medium speeds. However, it becomes more audible at higher settings, which the company notes is normal for the increased airflow. The lightweight design ensures the accessory doesn’t add much bulk, making it suitable for long handheld gaming sessions.

Pricing and Availability

The Jsaux Cooling Fan for Nintendo Switch 2 is priced at $39.99. It will be available at a 25% discount during Amazon Prime Day (July 8-11) and at a 10% discount afterward. The accessory aims to solve one of the most discussed early issues of the new Switch 2, heat management during demanding gameplay.

With gaming phones slowly becoming more mainstream day by day, Infinix is coming forward with its prototype cooling technology named CoolMax, aimed at keeping gaming phones chill even under the stress of heavy use.

Coolmax reduced the chipset’s temperature by a significant 10 degrees Celsius

Integrated into a concept gaming device, CoolMax has shown impressive results by reducing the chipset‘s temperature by a notable 10°C. It’s an internal system pairing a thermo-electric cooler with a fan, directly over the chipset, separated only by thermal paste—this setup bypasses the inefficiency of external coolers.

The heart of the prototype is MediaTek‘s Dimensity 9300 processor, boasting four powerhouse Cortex-X4 cores, leading the device to achieve a groundbreaking AnTuTu benchmark score of over 2.2 million. This feat is supported by an AI platform that smartly distributes tasks across the CPU cores, ensuring optimal performance. However, keep in mind that the device is a prototype and these numbers are not based on real-world scenarios.

Unlike other gaming phones that rely solely on air cooling, CoolMax’s Peltier effect introduces a cooler module that drops temperatures beyond what simple air circulation can achieve. This means that gamers can expect better performance without the device overheating.

In addition to groundbreaking cooling, the concept phone touts a Pixelworks visual processor to assist the GPU, promising display refresh rates up to 180Hz for FHD+ and 144Hz for QHD+ resolutions, setting a new standard for gaming displays. ASUS introduced the ROG AeroActive Cooler X at the 2024 ROG product launch event which took place yesterday in China. This cooler is specifically designed for the ROG Phone 8 series, including the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro, and is priced at 599 Yuan ($84).

The AeroActive Cooler X offers significant advancements compared to its predecessor, including a 160% larger thermoelectric cooling chip area, which greatly enhances heat dissipation. Its fan speed has increased by 10%, leading to a 20% improvement in cooling efficiency. Despite these improvements, the cooler is 29% smaller and 10% lighter. Impressively, it can lower the device’s back cover surface temperature by up to 36°C.

According to official statements, connecting the ROG Phone 8 to the “AeroActive Cooler X” results in a 22% increase in cooling efficiency, significantly enhancing stability during intense gaming sessions.

The cooling fan integrates AI thermal control to automatically adjust cooling based on the phone’s temperature, preventing lag and overheating. This feature also helps extend the battery’s lifespan. Its design allows for direct USB-C charging from the ROG Phone 8 Series, ensuring uninterrupted gaming.

In terms of design, the cooler features ergonomic dual buttons, providing a console-like control experience. These buttons are durable, with a lifespan of up to 200,000 clicks. The cooler’s standout feature is its Aura RGB lighting, which combines with a transparent design to showcase the fan blades and enhance the visual appeal.

The AeroActive Cooler X is compact, measuring 82.19 x 96.76 x 41.17 mm and weighing 117.01g. It supports USB-C direct phone charging and includes both male and female Type-C connectors, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack, making it versatile and portable.

Red Magic has just announced a new product in China. It is a the new Turbo Cooling Fan, which is an accessory that will help keep smartphones cooler during intense tasks like mobile gaming.

As per official notes, the new Red Magic Turbo Cooling Fan is built with the Chinese smartphone maker’s turbo cooling technology. The back clip fan feature 29 blades that run at high speeds for cooling. This enables it to output powerful air cooling that helps in keeping the temperature of the device in check, lowering it by 4° Celsius. With the brand being known for its gaming smartphones, the new gaming accessory would be welcomed for its customers that play intense 3D games like PUBG Mobile often.

Looking at its design, it appears to have a spaceship rocket like body with the fan being housed in the middle. The teaser shared by the brand also hints at it featuring RGB LED lighting as well, which would add to its “gaming aesthetic.” You know how the saying goes, “more RGB = better gameplay experience.” Unfortunately, finer details like pricing is known as of right now, but the product is set to be released on 17th February 2022 in China. Black Shark started as a gaming smartphone brand, but like many other phone manufacturers, it has expanded its product lineup to include other items, though the bulk of them are still focused on gaming. Its latest product is a new version of the FunCooler 2 cooling fan specifically designed for the iPhone 12 series.

The FunCooler 2 Magnetic Version is designed to attach to the magnet on the back of the iPhone 12 phones. Apple included magnets in the latest iPhone series which allow peripherals and accessories to magnetically attach to the back of the device. Apple has its own plethora of accessories that take advantage of this design and there are also accessories from third-party manufacturers too.

Black Shark says the new FunCooler 2 Magnetic Version is 62mm wide and 22mm thick, making it one of the smallest (external) cooling fans in the world. The small form factor also means it isn’t causing an obstruction when gaming. There are 15 Iron-Boron magnets in the cooling fan, providing a secure attachment to the phone. The overall weight of 73 grams also reduces the strain on the user’s wrists.

The FunCooler 2 Magnetic Version is yet to get a price and release date as the manufacturer said those details will be announced later. We expect it to go on sale in China first before making its way to other regions.

Nubia has officially launched its new gaming flagship, the Nubia Red Magic 3 in China. Judging from its official specs, the phone has turned out to be one of the best gaming flagships in the market today, coming with gaming oriented features like the industry’s first cooling fan, ICE 2.0 cooling tech, special connector pinks for accessories and a large battery.

Nubia Red Magic 3 Design

The Nubia Red Magic 3 is made for gaming inside out. So, the moment you look at the phone, the geometric design would immediately reveal it’s a gamer’s paradise. The new model builds on its predecessors’ design by adding a few more elements to its vector aesthetic design. So, the Red Magic 3 features a mesh-like design inside its V-shaped elements on its back, which wasn’t present before. Also, the hexagonal camera module is now better integrated into its groves.

The overall rear design is also a bit more curved, for better grip and comfort during gameplay. The RGB LED strip also makes a comeback on the new model. As for the front design, there are dual stereo speakers (the top one is integrated into its earpiece) with thin bezels on both sides. So, you don’t have to worry about a notch ruining your gaming experience. In fact, the front reminds me a bit of my Pixel 2 XL, but with thinner bezels.

The company has paid special attention to the phone’s cooling system. In this regard, there’s an Air In vent at the back and an Air Out vent on the side. This ensures that the phone remains cool, even during long hours of high-end gameplay. The phone also features the industry’s first cooling fan, which ensures that the phone remains nearly 5 degrees Celsius cooler than its rivals.

Nubia has added one more color alongside its usual, Red, Black, and Camouflage options. There’s a special Red-Blue gradient color for the new model.

Nubia Red Magic 3 Gaming Features

The new Nubia model comes with a lot of gaming-centric features. For example, there’s a new dedicated noise-canceling gaming mic for better conversations with your fellow teammates. Apart from the two shoulder button on the top of the device, the phone also uses its fingerprint sensor as an added button during gameplay.

The Red Magic 3 comes with 4D smart shock too, which is a smart system adds vibrations to match different scenes in the game, enhancing your overall gameplay.

As mention above, the phone features the industry’s first cooling fan inside. The fan doesn’t use any physical bearings and is made out of a nanomaterial which is extremely light. Nubia adds that the fan runs at 14K RPM and consumers very little power. Further, according to its testing, the fan has a solid lifespan of 30K hours! This is further supported by a liquid cooled copper tube to keep the temperature inside cooler than its rivals.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 also adds a special gaming dock pins on its left side. This dock can take a number of Nubia specified accessories including the special Red Magic e-Sports box. This unique box accessory houses a 3.5mm headphone port, Type-C port for charging, and an ethernet port that allows for wired internet access!

Clearly, this phone is made for hardcore gamers!

What’s a gaming phone without high-end hardware right?

Well, Nubia has taken care of this department pretty well. The phone features the flagship Snapdragon 855 processor with up to 12GB of RAM on board. There’s a huge 5000mAh battery inside with 27W PD fast charging that gives you an hour of gameplay in just 10 minutes of charging.

The screen on the Nubia Red Magic Mars was pretty decent. However, the new model takes things to a level where gameplay would be smoother. The phone features a large 6.65-inch FHD 2340 x 1080p Super AMOLED display with a fast 90Hz refresh rate and 195:9 aspect ratio. You can choose between 60Hz and 90Hz or let the phone decide it automatically. The phone supports DC dimming as well, so you shouldn’t worry about straining your eye with long hours of gameplay.

In the camera end, the Nubia Red Magic 3 doesn’t disappoint. The phone features the large IMX586 48MP single sensor at the back and comes with 8K recording and world’s first 1920 fps Super Slo-mo recording! The front camera department is taken care of by a 16MP shooter.

As for audio, you have a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, DTS 7.1 channel, and stereo box 3D surround sound speakers.

Finally, for software, the phone runs on Red Magic OS 2.0 based on Android Pie.

Nubia Red Magic 3 Price

The phone has four variants. The 6GB+64GB model starts at 2899 Yuan ($~431). The 6GB+128GB model is priced at 3199 Yuan ($~475), the 8GB+128GB model is priced at 3499 Yuan($~520) and finally, the top-end 12GB+256GB model will retail for 4299 Yuan($~640)!

The phone goes on sale on May 3.

The Red Magic 3 is an upcoming gaming smartphone from Nubia. The phone will take on the Black Shark 2 gaming phone and a new leak confirms a feature that puts it ahead of the Black Shark 2.

There have been reports the Red Magic 3 will have a display with a high refresh rate. A leak has revealed that Nubia’s upcoming gaming phone has a 90Hz display. Most phones have a refresh rate of 60Hz, so this is a big deal.

Roland Quandt took to Twitter to share a screenshot from the phone which shows a dialog box that allows you to set the screen’s refresh rate. There are three options – auto, 60FPS, and 90FPS. This is proof that the phone will have a 90Hz display.

The good thing is that you will be able to set it to 60FPS, 90FPS or auto which means the phone will automatically switch between 60FPS and 90FPS depending on the app in use. However, that isn’t the only thing the screenshot actually reveals.

If you look at the backdrop for the dialog box, you can see the menu options for the Game Center. The screen refresh rate settings is under the “Basic” menu but before it, is another menu that says “Fan”.

Back in March, a Nubia patent was published and it revealed the manufacturer had designed a phone with a built-in fan. Nubia’s CEO also revealed towards the end of March that the Red Magic 3 will have a hybrid cooling system that combines liquid and air cooling.

Seeing as the image above shows there is a menu for a fan, it means the Red Magic 3 will indeed feature a built-in cooling fan just like a computer. Roland Quandt adds in his tweet that the fan of the Red Magic 3 can be heard spinning when turned on.

Last year, gaming was one of the main focal points of a lot of mobile phones. There were even phones made specifically for gamers such as the Nubia Red Magic, ASUS ROG Gaming phone, and the Black Shark Gaming Phone. This year, we expect the aforementioned phones to get successors starting with the  Black Shark whose successor comes out this month. However, the successor to Nubia’s Red Magic might be one of the more interesting ones.

Virtually all of the gaming phones and flagships released last year have one form of cooling technology or the other to keep the temperature low when playing CPU-demanding games. The common cooling method is the use of cooling pipes but a patent shows Nubia’s next gaming phone might come with something different – a cooling fan!

Images from a patent filed by Nubia at the Chinese Patent Office shows a phone with a small cooling fan built-in. The patent was filed in October 2018 and was granted last month.

The patent description says the CPU is covered by a copper heatpipe that is then connected to the opening of the air duct. There will be an outlet on the side of the phone. The fan itself might make the phone a bit thick but that should mean they should also be able to fit in a larger battery.
