Honor has finally revealed the launch date for its next generation of flagship smartphones. The company officially teased the launch of the Magic 5 series, with the announcement set for the first week of March. So let’s have a look.

In the latest teaser image poster, the Chinese smartphone maker confirmed that the Magic 5 series will be officially launched on the 6th of March 2023. The announcement will begin at 14:30 hours CST (China Standard Time). The Magic 5 lineup will consist of multiple models, and we can expect the release of the Magic 5, Magic 5 Pro, and the Magic 5 Ultimate. For those unaware, the Magic series of smartphones will be the flagship grade handsets from the brand.

The series is equipped with top notch specs and features like Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Magic 5 is expected to be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 66W fast charging, while the Magic 5 Pro and Ultimate variant will offer an impressive 100W fast charging on a slightly smaller 4,800mAh battery pack. The new smartphones will also run on Android 13 OS based Magic UI 7.0 custom skin.

The Honor Magic 5 and Magic 5 Pro will feature a triple camera setup on the rear, while the Magic 5 Ultimate will house a quad camera module. Meanwhile, the entire lineup will house a 13 megapixel selfie camera on the front. Alongside the premium Magic 5 Pro and Magic 5, a more affordable Honor Magic 5 Lite smartphone also made its global debut today, starting with a launch event at MWC 2023. The handset brings an interesting design with a curved display and ring-like camera module on the back. It also packs a decent snapdragon processor and 40W charging. Magic 5 Lite follows Honor’s minimalist design language. You’ll see a circular camera ring on the back of the smartphone that makes it look different from other mid-rangers in the market. It has a plastic made chassis with a frosted glass back. The curved display on the front makes the handset looks quite premium.

The Honor Magic 5 Lite brings a 6.67-inch OLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is 10-bit and has an 800 nits peak brightness and an integrated fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor.

The SoC is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. Additionally, there is 5GB RAM expansion option. The handset features a triple rear camera system on the back. Honor Magic 5 Lite has debuted in the European market today. It arrives as the successor to the Magic 4 Lite that was launched last year. The latest offering is actually a rebranded version of the X9a that is available in Malaysia. Read on to know what it offers out of the box.

The Honor Magic 5 Lite boasts a 6.67-inch curved OLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. It features a 10-bit panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, 800 nits peak brightness, and an integrated fingerprint scanner. The smartphone has a non-protruding circular camera island on the back panel.

The Honor Magic 5 Lite features triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 64MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. There is a 16MP front-facing snapper.

Ahead of the launch, detailed specifications and design render of the Honor Magic 5 Lite have already surfaced online.

Now, tipster SnoopyTech has shared what appears to be the official spec sheet of the Magic 5 Lite smartphone along with its pricing.

Going by the spec sheet, the Magic 5 lite will measure 161.6 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and weigh 175 grams. The 6.67-inch curved OLED display on the device offers 2400 x 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DIC-P3 color gamut, 800 nits peak brightness, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset working with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12 pre-installed. The device will also pack a 5,1000mAh battery with 40W fast charging.
