The all-new Honor MagicBook Pro 2020 Ryzen Edition is powered by 7nm AMD Ryzen 5 4600H and  Ryzen 7 48000H processors. Unfortunately, both the variants do not feature any dedicated GPU.

To keep the thermals down, the notebook comes with SharkFin Dual Fan 2.0, which spin at a rate of 5,800 rpm. They are paired with dual heat tube to dissipate heat when the device runs resource-hungry applications.

It comes only in a single storage variant with 16GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Talking about the screen, the laptop features a 16.1-inch FHD (1080p) LCD panel with 100% sRGB color gamut, 90% screen-to-body ratio, 4.9mm thinner bezels at top and sides, and a relatively large 14.6mm bottom bezel.

The notebook measures 369 x 234 x 16.9mm in size and weighs 1.7kg. Other features include pop-up selfie camera built into the keyboard, surround sound, TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light emission, 1 x USB Type-C (supports 65W fast charging), 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, and Huawei Multi-Screen Collaboration.

In May, Honor launched MagicBook Pro 2020 laptops powered by 10th generation Intel processors. On July 16, the brand is expected to unveil Ryzen Edition of the same model. Though the company has been teasing the features on Weibo for a few days, the primary specs of these notebooks have now leaked.

The specs of Honor MagicBook Pro Ryzen Edition 2020 were shared by @rogame on Twitter. The same tipster revealed a Huawei laptop with similar features in May.

According to him, the upcoming Honor notebooks will be powered by AMD Ryzen 7 4800H/Ryzen 5 4600H paired with 16GB/8GB RAM and 1TB/512GB Samsung PM981a/PM981 NVMe SSD. That said, the leakster does note that “SSD vendor may vary”.

Unfortunately, these models will only come with DDR4 2666MHz RAM modules and they are expected to be soldered as well. This could be a deal-breaker for some who were looking for these laptops for hardcore multitasking and gaming.

Anyway, it is worth noting that Honor is advertising its upcoming thin and light notebooks for productivity and thus, it makes sense for them to not include RAM with 300Mhz+ clock rate.

Having said that, according to official teasers, the forthcoming Honor Windows 10 laptops will support 65W fast charging and will also feature a fingerprint sensor.

A couple of days back, the official accounts of Honor and AMD on Weibo teased a collaboration between the two companies. We reported it to be the initial teaser for Honor gaming laptops. Unfortunately, it isn’t the case as the Huawei sub-brand has scheduled an event for July 16 to announced new MagicBook series Ryzen Edition

Recently, Honor launched MagicBook Pro 2020 models powered by Intel 10th generation processors paired with MX350 GPU. We think the upcoming AMD  Ryzen-equipped MagicBook notebooks may also feature a similar design and identical features.

Although Honor has begun to tease the new models ahead of their launch, as of now, it has only revealed them to come with 65W fast charging support. The brand claims that these forthcoming Rzyen Edition laptops will be able to charge about 50% within 30 minutes.

That said, the brand is yet to reveal other specifics about its next laptop models. Anyway, going by the earlier announcement teaser, these models will be part of Honor’s thin and light laptop models. Hence, they will probably feature Ryzen U series chipsets, which are not built for gaming and resource-hungry tasks.

As for Honor gaming laptops, they may launch in August as per a new leak. Huawei is also expected to debut its self-branded gaming notebooks after its sub-brand.
