Last week, Honor launched the Play 40 Plus smartphone in China featuring the Dimensity 700 chipset and a massive 6,000mAh battery. The brand has now finally made the device available for purchase in its home country.

The Honor Play 40 Plus base variant costs 1,199 Yuan (about $165) and has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Priced at 1,399 Yuan (about $193) and 1,599 Yuan (about $221), respectively, are the device’s 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants. The device is available for purchase in four colors: black, silver, blue, and purple.

The Honor Play 40 Plus has a teardrop notch on its 6.74-inch IPS LCD display. The display features a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has a 720 x 1600 pixel HD+ resolution.

The device houses the Dimensity 700 chipset which is paired with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of internal storage. The device is preinstalled with the Android 12 operating system, which is layered with the Magic UI 6.1.charging.

The phone features a massive 6,000mAh battery paired with 22.5W quick charging. Honor claims that once it is fully charged, the smartphone can offer up to 23 hours of video playback time.

It includes a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front. It has a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary camera on the back panel. The smartphone also has a side-facing fingerprint scanner, 5G capability, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Honor Play 40 Plus has a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop notch. The screen has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

The device features the Dimensity 700 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. According to Honor, once it is fully charged, it can offer up to 23 hours of video playback time. The handset carries support for 22.5W fast charging.

Honor Play 40 Plus Leaks in Live Images Ahead of Launch

A few days back, key specs of the upcoming Honor Play 40 Plus leaked. Today, the device leaks in live images.

The pictures reveal that the smartphone will look like any other recent Honor and Huawei phones with two giant circles for cameras. Also, we get to see the handset in four colors.

According to the images shared by Whylab on Weibo, the Honor Play 40 Plus will have two big circles housing the rear cameras. However, unlike the Honor Play 30 Plus, circles on the 40 Plus will be part of the rear panel and the LED flash will be placed outside the circles.

Further, the device will sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It will be available in four colors, such as black, blue, silver, and purple. The latter two options will be gradient, while the former two will be solid.

Talking about specifications, the smartphone will flaunt a 6.72-inch HD+ display (LCD) with a 90Hz refresh rate and a dewdrop notch. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.

The phone will arrive with a 50MP + 2MP dual-camera system on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. It will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast wired charging.

The handset is said to come in two memory configurations (8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB). It is rumored to go on sale starting October 28 in China.

Honor will be launching the Honor X40 GT featuring the Snapdragon 888 later today (Oct. 13) in China. A new leak (via. MyDrivers) reveals that the company is gearing up to launch a new phone called the Honor Play 40 Plus. The key specifications of the phone have been leaked, and it appears that it will be soon made official in the home market.

The report reveals that the Honor Play 40 Plus will arrive with an HD+ display that will offer a refresh rate of 90Hz. Under the hood, it will feature the Dimensity 700 chipset. The device will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging.

On the front, the Play 40 Plus has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The back panel of the phone features a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel auxiliary snapper. The report states that it will be the first low-powered Honor phone to feature a camera watermark, which reads “50MP Dual Camera.”

The leaked specifications show that the Honor Play 40 Plus is aimed towards the entry-level market. Its predecessor, the Honor Play 30 Plus, which featured an HD+ display and a Dimensity 700 chip, was priced at 1,099 Yuan (~$153). Hence, it appears that the Play 40 Plus will have a similar price.

The report also states that the Honor Play 40 Plus will debut alongside the X40 GT. However, there is no official confirmation of its existence. As far as the X40 GT is concerned, it is expected to come with a 6.81-inch display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888, triple rear cameras, and a vapor chamber cooling system.
