<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei </a>was gearing up to unveil its latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p70-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei P70 series</a> of flagship smartphones this week. But it appears that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/03/huawei-p70-launch-event-reportedly-cancelled/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">launch event was reportedly canceled</a>. So while the release may have been pushed back, here&#8217;s a detailed roundup breaking down the specs, design, pricing, and more regarding the upcoming devices.</p>

<h2>Huawei P70 Series: Design &amp; Display</h2>

<p>The next-gen P70 series features the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s “camera Deco” layout on the rear. It features a triangular camera island that houses the camera sensors. This design was primarily seen for the Huawei P70 Pro Art model, but is believed to be uniform across the entire lineup. For those unaware, the series consists of the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, P70 Pro+, and the P70 Pro Art. Overall, all four phones will get a design refresh over their predecessors.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P70 Pro Leak" class="wp-image-615951" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the front, the base model is expected to sport a 6.59-inch LTPO OLED display, while the three higher end variants are rumored to sport a taller 6.76-inch LTPO OLED panel. These panels could be sourced from Chinese OLED display makers like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/18/huawei-p70-series-may-feature-china-made-oled-panels-from-boe-csot-visionox-tianma/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BOE, CSOT, Visionox, and Tianma</a>. All four models will likely offer curved edges, 1.5K resolution, and a higher refresh rate. The panel reportedly has a punch hole cutout for the selfie shooter and house an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.</p>

<h2>Huawei P70 Series: Specs</h2>

<p>Under the hood, the Huawei P70 series is expected to feature the Kirinm 9000S chipset. However, the performance might not be the same across all models. In a recent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/31/huawei-p70-series-benchmarked-on-geekbench-with-new-upclocked-kirin-chip/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GeekBench </a>sighting, it was revealed that the ALT-AL10 and ALT-AL80 are equipped with the Kirin 9000S. However, the higher-end P70 Pro+ and P70 Pro Art may feature a faster chipset. The more expensive models may feature an entirely new Kirin processor since they have a different core structure and clock speeds. But there&#8217;s a chance that these might just be refreshed or overclocked versions of the existing Kirin 9000S. </p>

<p>All four models will likely offer at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. But the P70 Pro+ and P70 Pro Art could go up to 16GB RAM with 512GB of storage as well. The base model might be powered by a 5,000mAh battery pack, while the P70 Pro may feature a larger 5,200mAh cell. The other two versions feature a 5,100mAh battery. These smartphones could bring support for 88W wired fast charging. However, the vanilla P70 tops out at 50W wireless fast charging and the rest come with 80W wireless fast charging. Another notable feature arriving on the P70 lineup is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/12/huawei-p70-series-chipset-frequencies-satellite-communication-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">satellite communication</a> technology. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-613910" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h2>Huawei P70 Pro: Camera</h2>

<p>For photography, the lineup is believed to offer a triple camera setup on the rear. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/01/huawei-p70-to-feature-50mp-omnivision-ov50h-as-its-primary-camera-report/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">primary camera is a 50-megapixel OV50H sensor</a> that features a 1/1.3-inch size. This sensor could also arrive with the P70 Pro model as well. On the other hand, the P70 Pro+ and P70 Pro Art will arrive with the 50-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/03/huawei-p70-art-lens-module/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sony IMX989 primary shooter </a>that has a 1-inch sensor size. </p>

<p>The last two cameras are likely a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter that offers 4x optical zoom. For video calls and selfies, the front may pack a 13-megapixel camera that has a 1/2.36-inch sensor size.</p>

<p>Rumors about <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a>&#8216;s upcoming flagship P70 series have been swirling for a while now. A recent wave of leaks now suggests that an official unveiling is imminent.</p>

<p>A leaked screenshot of what appears to be a Huawei P70 series launch poster surfaced on Weibo suggesting a possible launch date of April 2nd.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-614591" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Following this leak, other sources started revealing key specifications of the smartphones. These leaks suggest that the P70 series might comprise four models — the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, P70 Pro+, and P70 Art.</p>

<p>However, it&#8217;s important to note that the authenticity of these leaks hasn&#8217;t been confirmed yet, so it&#8217;s best to approach them with caution.</p>

<p>Rumors suggest that Huawei plans to use the Kirin 9000S chipset in all P70 models. However, the chipset, manufactured by SMIC, is currently facing scrutiny due to potential violations of US export restrictions.</p>

<p>In terms of display sizes, the P70 series is expected to feature panels ranging from 6.58 inches to 6.76 inches, all using LTPO OLED technology.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt=""/></figure></div>

<p>The Pro and Pro+ models may come equipped with a 50MP IMX989 1&#8243; main camera sensor, while the standard P70 might feature a 50MP OV50H sensor. Additionally, all variants are said to share a 13MP selfie camera.</p>

<p>Battery capacities are rumored to range from 5,000 mAh to 5,200 mAh, with support for fast-wired charging up to 88W and wireless charging up to 80W. As for pricing, if the leaks are accurate, it could start at around $700 for the base P70 model and go up to $1,400 for the top-of-the-line P70 Art variant.</p>

<p>Here’s a breakdown of the specs of the Huawei P70 series:</p>

<p>If the rumored launch date holds true, Huawei will probably make an official announcement very soon.</p>
