<p>The technology can be used for multi-dimensional and multi-modal information collection and is based on Honor&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ai">AI</a>-based computing photography algorithm. It can create an image experience beyond the perception of the human eye, claims the company.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-414425 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine.png?x44794" alt="Honor Image Engine" width="1803" height="849" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine.png 1803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-300x141.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-768x362.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-1024x482.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-696x328.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-1068x503.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-892x420.png 892w" sizes="(max-width: 1803px) 100vw, 1803px" /></p>
<p>Currently available for the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/flagship-smartphone">flagship</a> Honor Magic3 series smartphone, the company says that the Honor Image Engine has been integrated with the Snapdragon 888 series chipset, allowing images taken by different lenses to complement each other to achieve an improvement in image quality.</p>
<p>With this technology, the Honor <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor-magic3">Magic3 series</a> can take two shots with the main camera and the ultra-wide-angle lens at the same time and the image is then merged through powerful computing. The higher pixel image taken will fill in the details of the central area, increasing the sharpness by 80 percent and enhancing the overall quality.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-414426 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2.png?x44794" alt="Honor Image Engine" width="1262" height="654" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2.png 1262w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-300x155.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-768x398.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-1024x531.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-696x361.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-1068x553.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Honor-Image-Engine-2-810x420.png 810w" sizes="(max-width: 1262px) 100vw, 1262px" /></p>
<p>To avoid blunt transition after fusion, there&#8217;s an intelligent smoothing algorithm that intelligently adjusts the smooth area, making the fused photos look more natural. It also supports fusion of the main camera and telephoto lens, improving the image quality and increasing sharpness by up to 180 percent.</p>
<p>Honor was a sub-brand of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> and was reliant on using technologies developed by the Chinese giant on its own smartphones, including imaging technology. With Honor no longer a part of Huawei, it has developed its own imaging technology.</p>
<p>After becoming an independent brand, Honor has been trying to become self-sufficient and reduce its reliance on other companies. The company is also in the process of establishing relations with suppliers to strengthen its production and supply chain. It recently partnered with Microsoft for developing smart and integrated technology solutions.</p>

<p>The German company is known for making eyeglass lenses, binoculars, and camera lenses. In an effort to further expand its presence in the smartphone camera market, Zeiss China, the local subsidiary, has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/17/vivo-zeiss-officially-announce-global-imaging-partnership/">partnered with Chinese smartphone maker Vivo</a> and launched Vivo <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo-x60">X60 series</a> phones.</p>

He further adds that mobile <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/imaging-technology">imaging technology</a> will be a key differentiator and an important driver of the mobile market worldwide.</p>

<p>The ZEISS partnership is similar to the now-defunct partnership <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/nokia">Nokia</a> previously had with the German imaging giant. Already, Vivo has several imaging R&amp;D centers around the world with a staff strength of over 700. This time around, Vivo will have access to ZEISS&#8217;s decades of experience in developing optics and optoelectronics.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-4.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-360794" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-4.png?x44794" alt="" width="729" height="241" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-4.png 729w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-4-300x99.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-4-696x230.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 729px) 100vw, 729px" /></a></p>

<p>Vivo also announced that the partnership also commences the Vivo ZEISS Master Photography campaign to promote newly developed imaging systems and to “inspire users to enjoy their creativity with Vivo&#8217;s flagship smartphones”.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-360793" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-3.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-3.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-3-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vivo-zeiss-3-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The Vivo X60 which is the first product of the partnership will be unveiled in no distant time. The product will come with a ZEISS Vario-Tessar lenses featuring the T* anti-reflective coating according to a recent leak. The flagship smartphone is also expected to use ZEISS’ 3D PoP algorithms for bokeh rendering. The camera technology co-developed with ZEISS will be included in future Vivo high-end phones.</p>
