iQOO announced the iQOO Neo5s and Neo5 SE smartphones on Dec. 22 in China. As scheduled, the Neo5 SE was made available for purchase on Dec. 24 in the home market. Starting from today, the Neo5s is now up for purchase with a starting price of 2,199 Yuan (~$345).

The iQOO Neo5 SE has arrived in three variants such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. They are priced at 2,199 Yuan (~$345), 2,399 Yuan (~$376), and 2,599 Yuan (~$408). It comes in three colors such as Mine Shadow Blue, Rock Crystal White, and Phantom.

iQOO Neo5 SE specifications and features

The iQOO Neo5 SE has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a 16-megapixel camera on the front for shooting selfies and video calls. Likewise, the back panel of the device features a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Snapdragon 870 chipset is present under the hood of the iQOO Neo5 SE. It is coupled with LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There is no support for external storage on the device. The Neo5 SE is preinstalled with Android 11 OS, which is customized with OriginOS Ocean UI.

The Neo5 SE has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging. For security, it is equipped with a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

Apart from the flagship Neo 5S, iQOO also announced a premium mid-range model dubbed iQOO Neo 5 SE. The device shares design style with the high-end Neo 5S but is more affordable with a starting price of RMB 2,199 (~$345).

The iQOO Neo 5 SE sports a 6.67-inch LCD screen with support for a 144Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, and up to 650nit peak brightness. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The smartphone is also equipped with a large 4500mAh battery and supports 55W flash charging.

For optics, there is a triple camera setup made up of a 50MP main shooter teaming up with an 8MP lens and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera.

In addition, the Neo 5 SE packs three-dimensional dual speakers, linear motors, 4D game vibration, and a flagship full-link sound experience. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and providing the interface is iQOO’s custom OriginOS based on Android 11.

The iQOO Neo5 SE will officially go on sale from December 28 but is presently on presale.

iQOO very recently announced that the iQOO Neo5 SE will be launching on December 20th in China, and ahead of the release, new details about the phone are continually popping up.

The latest piece of information comes from industry insider Digital Chat Station who today broke the news that the iQOO Neo5 SE will be equipped with the Snapdragon 870 processor, a (likely LCD) display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a triple 50MP rear camera setup.

Further, the tipster revealed that the phone will support 55W fast charging and that its box will include a 66W charging brick. As for the price, it is expected to be in the 2,000 Yuan realm, which is around $310.

iQOO had earlier today released a teaser video for the iQOO Neo5 SE revealing the complete design. Its display will feature a centrally positioned punch-hole. The right edge of the smartphone has a volume controller, underneath which is a power button, which appears to also hold a fingerprint sensor.

For photography, there is a triple camera unit with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The device will be coming in three colors, namely white, dark blue, and blue gradient.

Yesterday, Vivo announced the all-new OriginOS Ocean UI for Vivo and iQOO smartphones. Today, iQOO confirmed through a Weibo post that the new iQOO Neo series will be launching soon. The poster released by the brand confirms key details on what to expect from the upcoming Neo phones.

iQOO has confirmed that the upcoming Neo series of smartphones will be equipped with the latest OriginOS Ocean UI. The silhouette of the handset suggests that the upcoming Neo phone will have a punch-hole display. A volume rocker and a power key will be available on its right spine.

The Dec. 20 date mentioned in the poster seems to be the day when iQOO will be unveiling the next-generation new phones. It can be said based on recent reports that the company may launch two devices, namely the iQOO Neo 5s and iQOO Neo5 SE.

While Vivo is expected to soon confirm the launch date for its upcoming S12 series of selfie-focused smartphones, iQOO is expected to soon unveil Neo branded devices. According to the tipster, the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset, and these devices will carry support for 44W fast charging.
