The recorder also includes a multi-microphone system designed to reduce background noise. This helps capture clearer audio, which is important for accurate transcription and summarization. The device comes in an ultra-slim form factor similar to a credit card and supports MagSafe compatibility, allowing it to attach easily to smartphones. Zeno is also bundling a leather case with the recorder for added protection.

The Zeno Weaver offers up to 40 hours of recording capacity along with a standby time of up to 40 days. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Arijeet Talapatra, the dynamic CEO of itel India, a brand that has built an unshakable reputation in India’s budget smartphone and feature phone segments. With a mission to make “technology for all” a reality, itel has become a trusted name in Indian households, connecting more than 110 million (11 crore) consumers through its range of feature phones, smartphones, smart gadgets, and televisions.

Our futuristic AI-powered 5G smartphone, starting at Rs 9,299, brings an AI voice assistant and several advanced AI features that were earlier limited to premium smartphones,” he explained.

He backed these claims with data: “According to a Counterpoint report of 2024, itel leads in conversion rates from awareness to trial (61%) and from trial to current usage (86%) among feature phone brands. We also score the highest in overall satisfaction (94%) and brand loyalty (94%).”

Arijeet credited this success to itel’s extensive retail and service footprint. “We have over 1,000 distributors, 130,000 retailers — one of the highest in India — and more than 1,000 service centers. This ensures that itel products, service, and support are always within easy reach of consumers.”

Durability as a defining trend in Indian smartphones

Durability, according to Arijeet, has already become a new battleground in India’s smartphone market. “Yes, it already is. In many households, a phone is not replaced every year, it’s expected to last for years. The average replacement cycle of smartphones is increasing, and consumers want phones that last long,” he said.

He added, “If a phone breaks easily, it becomes a financial burden. That’s why we are focusing so strongly on durability, because for our customers, it directly translates into peace of mind and value for money.”

For those unfamiliar, the limited-edition phone was announced in September in India.

Arijeet pointed out that itel is currently the only brand offering military-grade durability in the sub-Rs 7,000 category. “Durability is part of our DNA,” he said. “It’s not limited to smartphones. These are India’s first smartwatches with an integrated protective case, blending ruggedness with modern design.”

He believes that durability will soon become a major defining factor in the budget segment. “Consumers now want products that don’t give up on them easily, and that’s where itel has a clear edge,” he said.

India’s first AI-enabled feature phones

itel, recently became India’s first brand to launch AI-enabled feature phones, starting with the Super Guru 4G Max.

“Our inbuilt AI Assistant responds naturally to voice commands in both Hindi and English, helping people make calls, set alarms, send or read messages, open the camera, play music or videos, and even turn on the FM radio, all without navigating complicated menus,” Talapatra explained.

He added, “When we added AI to feature phones, our goal was to make usage easier for everyone. Until now, AI was largely limited to premium smartphones. We wanted to ensure that access to AI is not restricted to any price range, truly democratizing technology for India.”

Keeping feature phones relevant while promoting smartphone adoption

Despite India’s growing smartphone base, feature phones still hold a sizable market share, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.

“Our mission has always been to democratize technology, and we see ourselves playing a crucial role in this transformation,” Arijeet said. “Feature phones are still the starting point for millions of Indians, so we keep upgrading them with stronger signal strength, 4G connectivity, UPI support, and now, AI.”

At the same time, he emphasized the brand’s role in smooth digital progression. “Many of our feature phone users who move to smartphones prefer itel because they already trust our brand,” he said.

itel’s latest entry-level 5G smartphone, the Zeno 5G, recently landed on my desk, and I’ve spent some time exploring what this sub-Rs 10,000 phone brings to the table. Priced at Rs 9,299 (with a Rs 1,000 Amazon coupon), it seems positioned to be a no-fuss, future-ready smartphone. Here’s how my initial hands-on experience has been.

Design

The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the Zeno 5G was just how slim and lightweight it feels. At 7.8mm thick, it sits comfortably in the hand, and the matte finish on the rear panel gives it a bit of character. I’m using the Calx Titanium, which has a clean, modern look — though the Shadow Black and Wave Green options also look appealing in photos.

A good thing is that the phone comes with IP54 dust and splash resistance and Panda glass protection. Itel also claims it’s been drop-tested over 300 times, and honestly, the build doesn’t feel fragile at all.

You get 8GB RAM (4GB actual + 4GB virtual) and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, which is also expandable up to 1TB. To sum up, the phone offers decent performance for its price and casual gaming.

Battery-wise, the 5,000mAh cell is holding up well, and it supports 18W fast charging, though you only get a 10W charger in the box. The phone also includes AI charging protection, which is a nice touch.

On the camera front, the itel Zeno 5G features a 50-megapixel (Samsung S5KJN1) rear sensor and an 8-megapixel (GalaxyCore GC08A8) front shooter, both equipped with flash. I’ve taken a few quick snaps so far, and while the results in daylight are decent for the price, I’ll need to test it further in low-light conditions to get a better sense of its overall performance.

The high refresh rate display, reliable performance, broad 5G band support, and practical design make it easy to recommend to anyone looking for their first 5G smartphone without breaking the bank. It’s also good to see several AI-driven features onboard, including the Aivana assistant for tasks like translation, content generation, and grammar checking, which enhance the overall user experience. Additionally, the phone ships with a protective case featuring reinforced corners to help guard against accidental drops — a thoughtful touch at this price point.

Samsung’s S25 series is still a long way off. While the real deal will drop in February, itel has some interesting options for you—the S25 and S25 Ultra. Yes, you read that right. But don’t get too excited; these fall squarely in the “affordable” category.

itel launched these models in the Philippines as successors to the S24 series. itel S24 series, of course. From the name to the design, it’s clear that itel took a playful jab at the upcoming Galaxy S25 by introducing a similar squarish look, albeit with a unique ring light flash (plus a secondary one for good measure).

The S25 features a flat AMOLED display, while the S25 Ultra upgrades to a curved AMOLED with a two-tone color scheme.

itel seems to be working on a new flagship smartphone. The Indian brand’s next device is the itel Color Pro 5G with an eye catching design. A promo image poster has revealed a color changing panel at the back, which shifts its hue when exposed to sunlight. So here’s everything we know so far.

In the teaser, we get a glimpse at the upcoming smartphone’s design and color charging technology. The company is calling it the itel IVCO technology. Looking at the poster, we can also see a device with a dual camera setup with LED flash on the rear. The promo material showcases this tech with the device in sunlight. Under the natural light, the itel Color Pro 5G has a blue hue. You can also see the volume rockers and power buttons on the right side of the device.

itel has often focused on providing budget phones in India that target the sub-10,000 INR price range. But this around, the company’s next model would be more expensive. The itel Color Pro 5G could target the mid range segment and be priced under 15,000 INR. Its launch also arrives amid growing demand for budget 4G and 5G smartphones in India (as per a CMR report).

The Itel S24 is a recent entrant in the budget smartphone market. It costs Rs 10,999 in India and brings some impressive features for the price, making it a really good option for cost-conscious consumers. Let’s take a closer look at the key highlights of the Itel S24.

Display

The Itel S24 features a 6.6-inch HD+ (720×1612 pixels) LCD display. While it doesn’t offer the highest resolution, it will offer a decent viewing experience for everyday tasks like browsing the web, watching videos, and playing casual games. However, users who are accustomed to sharper displays might find text and visuals slightly less crisp.

On paper, the sensor can capture high-resolution images with good detail and also supports 3x in-sensor zoom. However, real-world performance will depend on factors like software processing and lens quality. 

The secondary camera is a QVGA depth sensor, which primarily assists the main sensor in capturing depth information for portrait mode photos.  The front-facing camera for selfies is an 8-megapixel sensor.

Performance

The Itel S24 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G91 SoC. It’s a mid-range chipset, and while it can handle everyday tasks and basic gaming, users expecting top-tier performance for demanding applications might not find it satisfying. 

Yet, despite being a budget-friendly option, the company hasn’t compromised in terms of memory. It comes with 8GB of RAM paired with a single storage option of 128 GB.

The phone also has Memory Fusion technology, which allows a portion of the storage space to be virtually utilized as additional RAM to improve multitasking capabilities.

Software-wise, the Itel S24 runs on the Itel OS 13 on top. It’s based on old Android 13 which is a bit disappointing for a phone of 2024, and it’s unclear how frequently the phone will receive software updates. 

However, the software does have some cool tricks up its sleeve. Alongside Google Assistant, there’s a built-in assistant powered by GPT that you can activate by saying “Hi Aivana.” Itel says it can help with navigation, and translation and supports various languages like English, French, and Arabic.

Then, there’s a Dynamic Bar feature, a replica of Apple’s Dynamic Island, that lets you see notifications, charging status, and incoming calls on the notch. 

Battery

The Itel S24 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which is a typical capacity for smartphones in this range. Paired with a lower-resolution display and a power-efficient processor, the battery should offer good endurance on a single charge. You can refuel it via an 18W charger that comes inside the box.

Other Features

The Itel S24 includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, dual DTS speakers for enhanced audio, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. It’s worth noting that the phone only supports 4G connectivity and lacks NFC which might be a drawback for users relying on contactless payments.

Verdict 

The Itel S24 caters to budget-conscious users seeking a phone with a high-resolution camera and a smooth display. The 108-megapixel sensor and 90Hz refresh rate are attractive features at this price point. 

The phone delivers well even in other aspects too. The processor is good for everyday tasks, and the battery lasts a long time and charges fairly quickly.

All in all, if you’re looking for a reliable phone for daily use for around Rs 10,000, the Itel S24 could be a good value for money.

Smartphone and audio accessories maker itel has announced the T11 Pro TWS earbuds in India. The new earbuds come with some decent features including up to 43 hours of playback. The new earbuds have a stylish design and deliver 360-degree super bass technology complemented by its 13mm drivers.

Speaking on the launch, itel India CEO, Arijeet Talapatra says the brand is building on its commitment to innovation in the smart wearable category with the launch of the new wearable. The itel T11 Pro is designed with the modern Gen-Z lifestyle in mind and they epitomize a fine blend of style, functionality, and innovation.

Features

The itel T11 Pro wearable has a powerful bass output. The device is equipped with 4 Mic AI-ENC for greater clarity of the audio output. The environmental noise cancellation architecture is AI-integrated while Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity is also supported. The range of the Bluetooth connectivity is 10 meters. Each earbud of the T11 Pro features a 40mAh battery while the charging case has a 500mAh battery. The earbuds can be recharged via USB-C and just 10 minutes of charge delivers 2 hours of playback.

The new itel T11 Pro TWS earbuds, when fully charged, can provide up to 42 hours of playback. The earbuds are rated IPX5 water resistance and 45ms Low Latency. It also features Pop-up pairing and the gadget can be used in gaming applications.

Pricing & Availability

The itel T11 Pro is priced in India for Rs. 1,299 ($16) and can be purchased from retail stores across the country. The earbuds are available in two colors namely Aurora Blue and Ashy Green. There are no indications at this time whether the new itel earbuds will be available in other markets.
