The Q9 is basically a rebranded G7 Fit but it enters the market under the Q series. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-231300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9" width="842" height="562" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9.png 842w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-768x513.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px" /></a></p>
<p>Specs wise, the G7 and Q9 are very much identical but the colour options have been enhanced to be more appealing especially to the young folks. The phone is aimed at students and isn&#8217;t billed to go on sale until July 11 (that&#8217;s not a mistake). Since the new school term commences in August, the timing may just be perfect. The price tag is also pretty decent considering the features. The Q9 will cost KRW 500,000 in South Korea which around $445.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Related: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/12/11/lg-launches-the-lg-x5-in-japan-a-rebranded-g7-one/">LG launches the LG X5 in Japan, a rebranded G7 One</a></strong></p>
<p>The LG Q9 sports a 6.1-inch FullVision display that is pretty sharp due to the QHD+ resolution of 3120x1440pixels it packs. The screen is HDR10-enabled to boot. The device also utilises the 19.5:9 aspect ratio which means it fits the palm comfortably. The device comes with a dimension of 153.2&#215;71.9&#215;7.9mm while it weighs 159g. On the camera end, the LG Q9 packs an 8MP wide-angle sensor at the front for selfies while at the rear is a 16MP shooter. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of storage onboard. The Q9 gets its interface from the Android 8.1 Oreo OS and packs a 3000mAh battery under its hood. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q7.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-231299" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q7.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9" width="760" height="493" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q7.png 760w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q7-300x195.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px" /></a></p>
<p>Further, the Q9 comes with LG&#8217;s trademark Quad DAC for high-quality wired audio as well as a powerful Boombox speaker if you want to play the music loudly. The phone also comes with IP68 waterproof build as well as the MIL-STD-810G build standard which makes it drop-resistant. There is also a microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type C with Quick Charge support, a rear fingerprint reader, a dedicated Google Assistant key, LG Pay support and a 3.5mm audio receiver.</p>
<p><strong>Pricing and Availability</strong></p>
<p>The LG Q9 comes in three cool and attractive colours namely, Carmine Red, New Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue. The device will become available on the three big Korean carriers on July 11 ahead of the start of a new school year in late August.</p>

While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lg/">LG</a> Q9 appeared on Geekbench, the Q9 One was spotted when its passed Bluetooth SIG certification.</p>
<p>The LG Q9, the company&#8217;s upcoming mid-range smartphone, was rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 660 14nm octa-core processor. However, the Geekbench listing reveals that the phone will be powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a> Snapdragon 820-series chipset.</p>
<figure id="attachment_230795" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-230795" style="width: 807px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-230795 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-geekbench.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9 Geekbench" width="807" height="652" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-geekbench.png 807w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-geekbench-300x242.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lg-q9-geekbench-768x620.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-230795" class="wp-caption-text">LG Q9 Geekbench Listing</figcaption></figure>
<p>The phone managed to score 1,789 points in the single-core test and 3,680 points in the multi-core test. As per the previous leaks, in terms of design, the phone will be nearly identical to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-g7-fit/">G7 Fit</a> which was launched in August last year as a rebranded model of Q9 in the Korean market.</p>
<p>It is said to feature a 6.1-inch notched IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2280 pixels Full HD+ resolution and will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is also rumored to feature a 16MP primary camera on the back and an 8MP selfie snapper.</p>

<p>The device could be powered by a 3,550mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The phone is expected to have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance as well as MIL-STD-810G compliance.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the LG Q9 One with model number LM-Q927L was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification site receiving approval. As for the specifications, the phone is expected to come with the same specs as the Q9 but this will be an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-one/">Android One</a> device, running Android Pie operating system out-of-the-box.</p>

<p>The same model was certified on Wi-Fi Alliance in November 2018. In mid-December, the phone was listed by Netflix amongst the mobile devices that have the certification for streaming its HD and HDR videos.</p>

The exact launch date of the Q9 has not been confirmed yet. Fresh set of LG Q9 renders have surfaced today to give a close at its design. Some of the key specs of the phone have also leaked through its Google Play Console listing.</p>
<p>The mere look at the LG Q9 phone reveals that it is identical to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-q7-fit">LG G7 Fit</a> smartphone that was announced at IFA 2018 tech expo in September. The handset seems to be featuring a metallic rear and it features a notched screen on the front. The bottom edge of the phone is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port and an external speaker.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/20/223783/lg-q9-renders-1/" rel="attachment wp-att-223784"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-223784" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-1.jpg?x23692" alt="LG Q9 renders" width="728" height="482" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-1.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-1-300x199.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a><br />
LG has never released a phone powered by Snapdragon 660 before. Previous reports had claimed that it could be the first LG phone with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/04/lg-q9-with-snapdragon-660-tipped-to-launch-this-year/">Snapdragon 660 chipset onboard</a>. However, the Google Play Console listing of the smartphone reveals that it is fueled by Snapdragon 821. The LG G7 Fit is driven by the same chipset. Hence, it appears that the LG Q9 could be rebranded version of the LG G7 Fit smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/20/223783/lg-q9-renders-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-223785"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-223785" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-2.jpg?x23692" alt="LG Q9 renders" width="728" height="645" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-2.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-2-300x266.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-q8-2017">LQ Q8</a> that was launched last year was powered by Snapdragon 820. Hence, it appears that the Q9 may indeed feature Snapdragon 821. The Google Play Console listing of the LG Q9 also reveals that it features 4 GB of RAM and its display supports a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels along with a screen density of 420 dpi. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo OS.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/20/223783/lg-q9-renders-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-223786"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-223786" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-3.jpg?x23692" alt="LG Q9 renders" width="728" height="482" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-3.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-renders-3-300x199.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/17/leaked-lg-q9-specs-reveal-6-1-inch-screen-4gb-ram-and-nfc-support/">A recent report</a> had revealed some of the other key specs of the LG Q9 smartphone. It revealed that the phone is equipped with a display of 6.1 inches. The report did not reveal the name of the processor that powers the Q9, but it confirmed that it includes 4 GB of RAM. The other features available on the LG Q9 are fingerprint scanner and NFC. Most of these specs match with the LG G7 Fit.</p>

</ul>
<p>If the LG Q9 is really rebranded edition of the G7 Fit, it may arrive with 16-megapixel rear facing camera and a frontal shooter of 8-megapixel. The handset is packed with a 3,000mAh battery. It may also feature MIL-STD-810G grade chassis with IP68 rating. Last year, the Q8 (2018) was launched in August. Hence, it appears that the arrival of its successor could be around the corner.</p>

This year the Korean manufacturer added the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-q7/">LG Q7</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-q8-2018/">LG Q8</a> to the list. A few months ago, news of the LG Q9 surfaced along with an alleged hands-on image of the phone. A few days ago, a render of the phone was seen on the web although this time it is shown with a notched display. Now specs of the phone have surfaced.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-223277" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-specs-b.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9 specs" width="823" height="429" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-specs-b.png 823w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-specs-b-300x156.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-specs-b-768x400.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 823px) 100vw, 823px" /></p>
<p>The source link is said to be the official Android website. However, when we checked we didn&#8217;t find it which means it must have been removed. Thankfully, there are screenshots of the page.</p>
<p>Based on one of the images which seem to be of the source page, the LG Q9 will come in two versions with model numbers LM-Q925S and LM-Q925L respectively. The phone will have a 6.1-inch display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and have a fingerprint scanner and support for NFC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-223278" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LG-Q9-specs.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9 specs" width="435" height="873" /></p>
<p>The second image shows the phone along with some of the aforementioned specs. This is the same render that leaked a few days ago that shows the Q9 with a notch.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/13/lg-trademarks-five-v-series-names-including-v40-and-v90-in-canada/">LG trademarks five V series names including V40 and V90 in Canada</a><span id="more-223276"></span></p>
<p>There is no mention of the processor but there are rumors it will be powered by the Snapdragon 660. That is a long shot seeing as the LG Q8 is powered by the Snapdragon 450, so a Snapdragon 660 is likely not possible. The Snapdragon 632 seems to be a more realistic choice.</p>

Now that the South Korean company has already announced the LG V40 ThinQ flagship phone in the previous month, it could be now gearing up on the launch of LG Q9. The key specifications of the smartphone had leaked in September. Also, a leaked video that had appeared in the same month to reveal its appearance. Today, a fresh render of the phone to reveal its front design.</p>
<p>As it can be seen in the below image, the handset is equipped with a notched screen. The handset seems to be sporting a tall aspect ratio. The chin of the device is a bit thick and the notch seems to be housing the front-facing camera, an earpiece and some other sensors. The volume rockers are present on the left side of the phone. The Power button is located on the right edge. The handset does not feature a physical button for accessing Google Assistant.</p>
<p>Like the predecessor LG Q8, the upcoming LG Q9 could be an IP68 rated and MIL-STD-810G certified handset. The handset is rumored to arrive with a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display that supports Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.</p>

Now, a leaked hands-on image of the LG Q9 has surfaced to reveal its design.</p>
<p>The below image shows that the alleged the LG Q9 will be arriving with a notch-less screen that may offer an aspect ratio of 18:9. The appearance of the phone is quite similar to the LG Q Stylus series of smartphones from the company. The top and bottom bezels of the smartphone are thick, and the LG skin can be seen on its display. The handset may feature an IP68 rated and MIL-STD-810G complaint chassis like the predecessor<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-q8"> LG Q8</a> smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/05/lg-q9-hands-on-image-leaked-to-reveal-design/lg-q9/" rel="attachment wp-att-209781"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-209781" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LG-Q9.png?x23692" alt="LG Q9 leaked image" width="953" height="584" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LG-Q9.png 953w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LG-Q9-300x184.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LG-Q9-768x471.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 953px) 100vw, 953px" /></a></p>
