At Xiaomi Smart Living product launch event in Bengaluru, India, along with the Mi Band 3, the China-based company also launched a few other products, including the Mi Air Purifier 2S, Mi Home Security Camera 360, and Mi Luggage.

The Mi Air Purifier 2S comes with a compact and minimalist design that elegantly blends into the household environment. It features an OLED display which displays the precisely determined PM2.5 levels in real-time, along with the humidity and temperature.

It comes with a built-in ambient light sensor which automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness. With its 360-degrees cylindrical filer structure, the company says that the air purifier can suck in air from every direction and deliver at a high Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of up to 310m^3/h, meaning it can circulate clean air entirely for a 21m2 room in just 10 minutes.

The Mi Air Purifier 2S can be remotely controlled using the Mi Home App, Google Assistant as well as Amazon’s Alexa. It will be available for purchase in India from 28th September for a price of Rs. 8,999 ($124) through Mi Online Store, Flipkart, and Amazon India.

The Xiaomi Mi Home Security Camera 360 can provide 24×7 home protection with 360-degree coverage of the entire house. It comes equipped with night vision, intelligent motion detection, and real-time two-way talk. It also supports 1080p Full HD video capture and playback at any moment.

It offers two types of storage options — microSD cards of up to 64GB and NAS devices. Mi Home Security Camera 360° 1080p will be available for purchase via Mi.com, Flipkart and Amazon from 10th October for Rs. 2,699 ($37).

The Xiaomi Mi Luggage, the company’s new product in the travel category, comes with a sleek and durable design. It is made from Makrolon, a polycarbonate material, and comes with a specially-designed TSA-approved combination lock to ensure the security of all your valuables and documents.

It comes with an ergonomic handle and supports 4 different height adjustments for individual comfort. It will be available in two sizes — Mi Luggage 20 and Mi Luggage 24, from 10th October via Amazon, Flipkart, and Mi.com. The Mi Luggage 20, priced at Rs. 2,999 ($41) will come in Red, Grey, and Blue colors while the Mi Luggage 24, costing Rs. 4,299 ($59), will be offered in Grey and Blue colors.

In China, Xiaomi is selling various kinds of smart devices such as smart TVs, lighting, air and water purifiers, appliances, and more. In India, the company is selling very few of its smart devices. Xiaomi’s Global VP and Managing Director for India has shared a new teaser which hints that the company may soon introduced multiple smart products in India on Sept. 27. The event will start at 11:30am on the said date.

The below teaser that carries #SmartLiving hash tag suggests that the company may launch as many as five smart home products on Sept. 27 in India. The heart icon hints that the company may debut Mi Band 3 which is equipped with a heart rate sensor. The smartband is also equipped with a touchscreen OLED display. In China, the Mi Band 3 comes in multiple colors like Graphite Black, Deep Blue and Hot Orange. However, India is expected to receive it only in Black option.

The eye icon hints the arrival of a smart camera from Xiaomi with 360-degree field of view. The device can stream live images on the phone through a companion app

The popcorn icon represents a smart LED TV from the company. There is a possibility that Xiaomi may debut 75-inch Mi TV 4 in India that was launched in China in the recent.

The icon of the air suggests the coming of Air Purifier 2S. The device was announced in China at the end of 2018. It features an OLED screen and three-layer filter. The location icon indicates that the company may also announce a location tracker at the Sept. 27 event. The below image also teases the different smart devices that are slated to go official in India.

Apart from the aforementioned devices, Xiaomi may also introduce the Mi Max 3 smartphone in India since the company has teased its global launch. The handset is equipped with a mammoth 18:9 aspect ratio supporting display of 6.99 inches. The Snapdragon 636 SoC is the driving force of the phone. The handset receives power from 5,500mAh battery and it carries support for fast charging through USB-C.

For photography, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup and a front-facing shooter of 8-megapixel. The other features of the Mi Max 3 include fingerprint sensor, IR blaster and microSD card slot.

In China, the Mi Max 3 was introduced in two models such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM. These variants are selling in the home country with respective price tags of 1,699 Yuan (~$247) and 1,999 Yuan (~$290). It is available in color variants like Black, Gold and Blue in the home country.

 Xiaomi has announced a new version of its successful Mi Air Purifier. The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2S can be said to be an upgrade of the Mi Air Purifier 2 which was released last year. The new version isn’t superior to the Mi Air Purifier Pro also released last year, but it adds some of the features of the Pro version.

The new Mi AIr Purifier 2S continues with the design language of its predecessors and even features an OLED display just like the Mi Air Purifier Pro. The device’s OLED accurately shows atmospheric particulate matter (PM) that have a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometres, which is about 3% the diameter of a human hair (PM2.5 concentration) as well as temperature and humidity. It also comes with a WIFi connection and the work patterns so that you’ll be abreast with changes in the air quality. It has a laser sensor which assists in the accurate detection of particles as small as  0.3μm in size.

In addition, the Xiaomi AIr Purifier 2S comes with a built-in light sensor that can automatically sense the ambient light changes in order to automatically adjust the screen brightness accordingly. This ensures the light doesn’t stay too bright at night so as not to disturb your sleep. Further, you get a device with a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) value of 310m³ / h and can cover a room the size of between 21-32 square metres. This is quite lower than that of the second-gen Mi Purifier 2 and Mi Purifier Pro. For clarity, the Purifier 2 has a CADR of 406m³/h and can cover a working area of 48 square metres while the Pro version has a 500m³/h CADR and is also capable of covering an indoor area of 60 square meters. 

The Air Purifier 2S also features a more refined three-layer filter that can pick up particles like allergens, animal fur, formaldehyde, dust, pollen and cigarette smoke from the air. The new product also added RFID smart filter identification, simplifying the cumbersome routine reset operation.

As for the price, the Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2S priced at 899 yuan ($135), slightly higher than the Air Purifier 2 by just 200Yuan. The gadget will be available to buy on November 11.
