And with monthly active users crossing 500 million globally, it is not unsafe to say that a large part of those are Indians excitedly awaiting its launch since its Chinese advent in December 2021. This base will perhaps be disappointed to know that the update focuses on performance once more, giving a miss to UI-related changes for the second time in a row.</p>
<p>The latest version of MIUI revolves around four elements, aimed at improving user experience and reducing power consumption. The list is topped by <strong>Optimized File Storage System</strong> which has been claimed to keep read/write speeds tip-top even after 36 months of usage. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> says that other Android skins don&#8217;t focus on defragmentation the way MIUI does, resulting in them losing up to 50% of the R/W speeds in 3 years.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-441196 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-1024x576.png?x10805" alt="miui 13 core experience" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-core-experience.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>Next up is <strong>RAM Optimization</strong> which has been claimed to boost background process efficiency by 40%, allowing more apps to be run at once and helping achieve a better multitasking experience. It is joined by <strong>Processor Priority Optimization</strong> that employs automated CPU/GPU allocation to help the OS prioritize foreground apps.</p>
<p>Lastly, there&#8217;s the promise of up to 10% improved battery life thanks to <strong>Smart Balance</strong>.</p>
<p>Apart from this, for the visual elements, Xiaomi has partnered with <strong>Beauty of Science</strong> to bring a bunch of cool, new live wallpapers, inspired by the crystallization of various substances. Do note that just like Super Wallpapers from MIUI 12, these will not be available across all devices. Still, lower-end devices can enjoy a brand new collection of static wallpapers that look like a breath of fresh air.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-441197 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-1024x576.png?x10805" alt="miui 13 new live wallpapers" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-new-live-wallpapers-1.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>Upgraded widgets support, which was one of the main highlights of MIUI 13 China, looks to have been skipped for now but you do get a new <strong>Sidebar</strong> feature. This allows access to your favorite apps with just a swipe. A great use-case for this would be pulling up the Notes app as a small window over the current app for some quick jotting.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-441194 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-1024x576.png?x10805" alt="miui 13 india rollout" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/miui-13-india-rollout.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>MIUI 13 in India will commence rollouts starting with flagships and recent launches. The first wave will get it from Q1 2022, as depicted above.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433526 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Logo Featured B" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-B-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike previous generations, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> now has three branches of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for its Android devices. They are called MIUI 13, MIUI 13 Pad, and MIUI 13 Fold. As the names suggest, the software is now optimized specifically for smartphones, tablets, and foldables respectively. For the foldables, MIUI is a combination of both regular MIUI for MIUI Pad.</span></p>
<h1><b>MIUI 13</b></h1>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433758 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Featured-A-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<h3><b>MiSans Font</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 13 brings new font called MiSans. Xiaomi claims that this is a simple font optimized for Chinese and English languages to offer clear visibility and comfortable reading.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433755 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-1024x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 MiSans Font" width="696" height="696" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-MiSans-Font.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The font is part of Dynamic Font System 2.0. As it inherits OpenType features, the height of hyphens automatically adapts to uppercase and lowercase letters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This minimalistic font is already available for download on the MIUI Themes app in China for devices running previous iterations of MIUI.</span></p>
<h3><b>Widgets</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ever since Apple introduced widgets with iOS 14, Android OEMs are playing catch-up although the feature has been present on Google’s operating system for years. That’s because it has been dormant without any interesting development so far.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, Xiaomi has also joined the new race for dynamic widgets with MIUI 13. For the unaware, the company has been testing this feature </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-Widgets/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">since August 2021</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The widgets in MIUI 13 are sort of similar to those found on vivo’s </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OriginOS-Ocean/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OriginOS Ocean</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and OPPO’s </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ColorOS-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">ColorOS 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. In other words, they probably won’t make their way to international markets.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433750 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-1024x578.png?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Widgets" width="696" height="393" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-1024x578.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-768x433.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-696x393.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-1068x603.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-744x420.png 744w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A.png 1492w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Because these widgets are offered by prominent Chinese applications. Additionally, Xiaomi is also offering widgets for mini-games, countdowns, reminders to drink water, what to eat today suggestions, and more.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Although we don’t have much hope for the availability of new widgets outside mainland China, it would be wonderful if the firm somehow manages to bring them.</span></p>
<h3><b>Beauty of Science Wallpapers</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 12 set the bar high for live wallpapers with the introduction of MIUI Super Wallpapers. For MIUI 13, the company has partnered with Beauty of Science for a new set of wallpapers.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433763 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Beauty of Science Wallpapers" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Beauty-of-Science-Wallpapers.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These latest wallpapers display the crystal structure of various minerals. The new wallpapers are a result of 8K time-lapse photography using a polarization microscope.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Just like the MiSans font, the Beauty of Science Wallpapers are also up for download in China.</span></p>
<h3><b>Customizable Xiao AI Virtual Assistant</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Users can create their own customized avatar of Xiaomi’s Xiao AI virtual assistant in China. They can choose from over 50 sets of clothing and accessories.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433759 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-1024x611.jpeg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Customizable Xiao AI Avatars" width="696" height="415" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-1024x611.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-300x179.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-768x458.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-696x415.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-1068x637.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars-704x420.jpeg 704w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Customizable-Xiao-AI-Avatars.jpeg 1900w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That’s not all, users can also choose from different voices and set a custom wake word.</span></p>
<h3><b>Privacy</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 13 is certified by even more agencies than MIUI 12 for privacy. The new interesting feature in the last iteration was ‘Virtual ID’. Whereas, MIUI 13 brings changes to the face authentication system.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433751 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Privacy" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Privacy.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Previously, only the face is scanned by the system. But now, the upper body is included in the scan for more data. Further, users can </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/07/xiaomi-miui-13-features-changes/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">opt for a watermark</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> while scanning important documents.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The system also protects users from spam calls/texts, malicious applications, and harmful file transfers</span></p>
<h3><b>Optimizations</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 13 brings improvements for Focus Computation, Atomic Memory, and Liquid Storage. These three self-developed technologies debuted on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/10/xiaomi-miui-12-5-enhanced-edition-miui-for-pad/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433754 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Optimizations" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Optimizations.jpg 1062w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi claims that the fluency of system applications and third-party applications are now improved by 20-26% and 15-52% respectively when compared to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edtion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Devices like Xiaomi Mix 4 can now easily hold an average of 14 apps in the background. Finally, read-write performance only drop by 5% on handsets like Mi 11 Pro after 36 months of usage.</span></p>
<h3><b>Mi Magic Center</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The new Mi Magic Center is Xiaomi’s answer to Huawei’s </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/11/huawei-freebuds-pro-harmonyos-super-device-support/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">HarmonyOS Super Device</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Users can manage their Xiaomi ecosystem products from this single place.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-433756 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Mi Magic Center" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Mi-Magic-Center.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /> </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">They can cast/stream screen content or music from one device to another by simply dragging. Earlier, the company executive revealed that he has been using MIUI 13, and now the company has revealed the software&#8217;s major enhancements over MIUI 12.5.</p>
<p>Xiaomi claims that the upcoming version of MIUI would be focused mostly on smoothness and fluency. In comparison to the previous version, the MIUI 13 will feature a 15% to 52% boost in system fluency.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-433159 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/miui-13-3.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13" width="544" height="725" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/miui-13-3.jpg 544w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/miui-13-3-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/miui-13-3-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 544px) 100vw, 544px" /></p>
<p>The apps will open quicker, and the frame drop rate will be reduced by almost 90%. The MIUI 13 will also have Focus Computing 2.0, liquid storage, and atomic memory, resulting in faster read and write times.</p>
<p>Moreover, the company CEO Lei Jun has shared a poll on Weibo asking for what feature do the users expect to have in the upcoming MIUI 13. The majority of the users reported that they expect the software to be bug-free.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-433160 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-3.png?x10805" alt="MIUI 13" width="488" height="265" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-3.png 488w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-3-300x163.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px" /></p>
<p>It seems that Xiaomi has already focused on the stability of the MIUI 13 and so did it list such options in the poll. It is to be noted that the MIUI 13 will be on top of the Android 12 OS for the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones.</p>
<p>Recently, the company revealed the list of its first batch of phones to receive the update. The phones in the first batch include the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-11-ultra">Xiaomi 11 Ultra</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-11">Xiaomi 11</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k40-pro/">Redmi K40 Pro</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k40-pro-plus/">K40 Pro+</a>, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/09/xiaomi-11-youth-vitality-edition-launched-in-china-specifications-features-and-price/">Xiaomi 11 Youth Edition</a>. Interestingly, the company is also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/22/miui-13-testing-begins-for-redmi-note-8/">testing the MIUI 13 on 2019&#8217;s Redmi Note 8</a>, which might get the official update in the next batch.</p>

It says that due to architectural changes on Android 12, multiple flagship and high-end models will be adjusted to the internal test channel from the public beta channel.</p>
<p>This most likely means that users of the concerned devices that are a part of the beta program will no longer be receiving new updates for a while. Instead, all of the bleeding edge testing will be done internally by Xiaomi itself (via <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/594/371.htm">IT Home</a>).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-432872 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-1024x612.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="696" height="416" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-1024x612.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-300x179.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-768x459.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-696x416.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-1068x638.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649-703x420.jpg 703w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/File_20211224-164649.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>But following the limited time of internal testing, users will again be able to register for the public beta version as usual.</p>
<p>The devices that will be impacted by this temporary measure have been listed below:</p>
<ul>
<li>Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra</li>
<li>Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro</li>
<li>Xiaomi Mi 11</li>
<li>Xiaomi 11 Youth Edition (aka Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE)</li>
<li>Redmi K40 (aka POCO F3/Mi 11X)</li>
<li>Redmi K40 Pro (aka Mi 11X Pro)</li>
<li>Xiaomi Mi 10S</li>
<li>Xiaomi MIX 4</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> earlier this month had done something similar, again likely in prep for MIUI 13, temporarily <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/09/miui-12-5-beta-builds-to-soon-get-paused-is-it-because-of-miui-13/">suspending MIUI 12.5 beta builds</a> for all devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-430758 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI 13 Logo Featured A" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-A-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>According to previous reports, at least two of the models from the Xiaomi 12 series will be released on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/14/miui-13-could-be-rolled-out-for-xiaomi-mi-11-redmi-k40-on-december-28/">December 28</a> along with MIUI 13. Wang Hua, general manager of Xiaomi&#8217;s public relations department, had recently hinted this by announcing that he has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/23/xiaomi-executive-hints-hes-already-used-miui-13-on-xiaomi-12/">already used MIUI 13</a> and that the system &#8220;should be packaged within two days.&#8221;</p>
<p>Not much is currently known about MIUI 13, but a leak from last week had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/14/miui-13-logo-is-here-with-subtle-changes/">revealed the software skin&#8217;s logo</a> for the first time.</p>
