Back in April, Poco launched the C51 budget range smartphone in the Indian market. The device carried an attractive Rs. 6,499 price tag considering that it had features like a 120Hz display, a fingerprint scanner, and the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. Now, the brand has launched a new Airtel-exclusive version of the Poco C51 which comes with an even cheaper price tag.

Poco C51 Airtel-locked variant details

Under this offer, customers can purchase the Poco C51 for an attractive price of Rs 5,999, which includes Airtel Exclusive benefits. These benefits include a discount of 7.5% (up to Rs 750) on the phone’s selling price and 50GB of free data. The free data is provided in the form of five coupons, with each coupon offering 10GB of data. However, only one coupon can be redeemed per month, and each coupon has a validity of 30 days.

It’s important to note that the Airtel-locked variant of the Poco C51 will be locked to Airtel for 18 months. To unlock the device, users must insert an Airtel SIM card within 24 hours of setting up the phone and have an Airtel Truly Unlimited recharge of at least Rs 199. Once these conditions are met, users can use a non-Airtel SIM card in the second SIM card slot.

Recently, POCO has released its latest C-series smartphone, the POCO C51, in the Indian market. This upgraded version of the POCO C50, which was launched in January this year, will be available for purchase for the first time today. Boasting a MediaTek Helio G36 processor and pre-loaded with Android 13 (Go Edition), the POCO C51 offers a sizeable display with 400nits of brightness and an 8MP rear camera. Come April 7th, POCO is set to unveil its budget-friendly C51 smartphone in India, following the release of C50 and C55 in January and February respectively. POCO has confirmed that the phone will feature 4GB of RAM, expandable to an additional 3GB, and its design and specifications bear similarities to those of the newly introduced Redmi A2+.

POCO C51 Tipped to Launch Soon, Here’s What to Expect

POCO has recently launched the POCO C50 and POCO C55 smartphones in the global market and India. Kacper Skrzypek, a well-known tipster, tweeted that the company is getting ready to launch the POCO C51 smartphone. As the moniker suggests, it will be slotted between the C50 and C55.

According to the tipster, the POCO C51 will be a rebranded version of the Redmi A2+, which is soon going to launch in the global market. The Redmi A2 and A2+, with model numbers 23026RN54G and 23028RNCAG, were seen earlier this year at a number of certification sites, including Bluetooth SIG, TUV Rheinland, Thailand’s NBTC, and India’s BIS.

So, it looks like the Redmi A2 and A2+ will be released soon in a number of markets. Both smartphones are expected to sport the same specifications and designs. However, the A2 may lack a fingerprint scanner, while the Plus variant may come equipped with one.

The Redmi A2+ is expected to feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display that offers an HD+ resolution. It is likely to arrive with the Helio G36 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage. It will house a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support via a microUSB port.

The A2+ will come preloaded with Android 13 (Go edition). It will have a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel dual-camera system. It is expected to arrive in black, blue, and green shades.

There is no word on when the POCO C51, which will be a rebranded Redmi A2+, will be available. At present, there is no word on the global launch of the device, but the tipster has revealed to this writer that it is expected to release in India.
