POCO M4 Pro 5G goes on sale in India, Price starts at Rs. 14,999(~$201)

Last week, POCO launched the POCO M4 Pro 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The device comes with a 90hz display and has Dimensity 810 chipset. Today, the smartphone has officially gone on sale in the country.

POCO M4 Pro 5G Price in India

This is the first time the smartphone is available for sale in the country. It is priced starting at Rs. 14,999(~$201) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs. 16,999(~$227) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and lastly Rs. 18,999(~$254) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant in India.

It is available in three colors – Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow.

POCO M4 Pro 5G Specifications

The POCO M4 Pro 5G comes with a 6.5-inch LCD display with an FHD+ resolution. The device has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-sampling rate.

It sports a 16MP selfie camera and a dual-camera setup at the rear. The phone has a 50MP main lens and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage.

The device packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging support. It boots on Android 11 OS and has MIUi 12.5. The smartphone comes with an IR blaster and also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The POCO M4 Pro 5G was launched on 15th February as a rebranded Redmi Note 11 5G, but comes with a tweaked design, software, and color options. And today, POCO has announced the device’s sale date and a single purchase offer.

With a press release, the company has revealed that the POCO M4 Pro 5G is all set to go on sale in India on Flipkart on 22nd February 2022. Day 1 customers can avail the device at a starting price of INR 13,999 with an additional discount of INR 1,000 through SBI debit/credit cards.

The POCO M4 Pro 5G is powered by the 5G-ready MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor that’s assisted by up to 8GB of RAM with virtual expansion support. Its 90Hz 6.6” FHD+ display is paired with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The panel has reasonably slim bezels all around and houses a 16MP selfie camera within a center-aligned punch-hole.

The rear dual-camera setup is made of 50MP primary and 8MP ultrawide snappers. The battery is sized 5000mAh, promising a 2-day battery life, and supports 33W MMT fast charging.

Last but not least, an IP53 rating is also present for protection against the elements.

POCO M4 Pro 5G roundup: Specs, price, availability – what to expect

The POCO M4 Pro 5G launched in multiple markets back in November 2021, and it is finally coming to India tomorrow (February 15). As the device is already available in other markets, we know quite a lot about its specs and what to expect from the upcoming launch.

Design & Display

POCO M4 Pro 5G

The POCO M4 Pro has most of its features in common with the Redmi Note 11 which is known as the Redmi Note 11T in India. The device offers a similar design although with some minor tweaks. The back panel houses a rectangular-shaped camera module in the top left corner, however, the camera module has been extended to cover the entire width of the phone for a more stylized appearance. The extension features a large POCO branding.

The M4 Pro 5G’s top edge has a microphone, an IR blaster, and a speaker. Its bottom edge has another mic, a USB-C port, and a second speaker unit. As far as the front side is concerned, its display has a centrally placed punch-hole atop and is supported by a slightly thick chin at the bottom.

The device will likely measure 163.6 x 75.8 x 8.8 mm and weigh around 195 grams. The M4 Pro 5G is said to sport a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Cameras

For photography, the M4 Pro 5G will likely come with a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 sensor coupled with an f/1.8 lens and with PDAF support. The second camera on the rear is said to be an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera housing a Sony IMX355 sensor behind the f/2.2 lens offering a 119-degree field of view.

For selfies, a 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16A1 sensor will be provided with an f/2.5 aperture lens.

Performance

Improving upon its predecessor, The M4 Pro 5G will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 octa-core SoC under the hood. The chipset offers the Mali-G57 GPU and is built on the relatively new 6nm process. The POCO M4 Pro 5G is tipped to be offered in three RAM variants in India — 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. It will have either 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage options.

The phone packs a large 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Like the global variant, the smartphone is expected to boot the MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. It will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and will also offer a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing and Availability

So far, there has been no word about the pricing of the POCO M4 Pro 5G, however, the handset is expected to be priced close to the Redmi Note 11T 5G which starts at around Rs. 17,000 for the 6GB + 64 GB model. The phone will be offered in colors like Power Black, Poco Yellow, and Cool Blue. Poco will be unveiling the Poco M4 Pro 5G on February 15 in India. Ahead of its launch, MySmartPrice has shared the color options, variants, and specifications of the smartphone.

The Poco M4 Pro 5G is tipped to arrive in three RAM options — 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. It will have either 64GB or 128GB of storage options. As for the colors, the smartphone will debut in three color variants.

In the Global market, the handset comes in Power Black, Poco Yellow, and Cool Blue shades, so these are the colors we are expecting for the Indian markets too. Also, Poco recently confirmed on Twitter that the device will indeed come in these three colors in India.

Coming to the specs, the Poco M4 Pro 5G will be a successor to the Poco M3 Pro. The smartphone will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset. It will support a 33W fast charging technology.

It sports a 16MP selfie snapper and a dual-camera system at the rear. The rear setup goes by a 50MP main lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 119-degree field of view.

The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and boots on Android 11 OS out of the box. It has stereo speakers and features a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
