Right after Google’s Android 15 launch, realme has instantly released Android 15 Beta 1 earlier and now Android 15 Beta 2 for realme 12 Pro+ is here.

The initial Android 15 Beta 1 update for realme 12 Pro+ did not offer a stable experience, and unfortunately, Beta 2 also comes with some bugs too. It’s important to back up all your data before installing this update. Additionally, this update is only for the Indian variant of realme 12 Pro+. Do not install it if you have a different variant.

realme has released instructions on how to install the Android 15 Beta 2 update for realme 12 Pro+ and a list of known bugs. If you’re not satisfied with Android 15, you can revert to Android 14 again as well.

realme 12 Pro+ Android 15 Beta 2 installation guide

You need to download the realme 12 Pro+ Android 15 Beta 2 update package from the given link. Make sure you’re currently running the latest Android 14 on your device, Android 14 (RMX3840_14.0.0.1001(EX01)). Make sure you have Indian device and the latest firmware installed, then proceed to install Android 15 (RMX3840_14.0.0.02).

● Transfer the downloaded firmware to the phone storage;

● Turn on developer mode

● Go to Settings > Software Update > Settings in the upper right corner > Manually select the installation package

● Select the downloaded firmware package, click install after loading

● The system will reboot

Rollback to Android 14

You can revert back to Android 14 if you’re not satisfied with the Android 15 experience. You will need to download rollback package here.

● Please back up your data before proceeding with the rollback process: Settings > Additional Settings > Back Up and Reset > Backup & Restore, and then select the data to back up.

● Please keep the battery level over 30%, and do not turn off your phone during the rollback process.

● In order to revert back to Android 14, please follow the same procedure you went through to join the Android 15 Developer Preview but by using the rollback package below.

Known issues

1. All user data will be erased during the upgrade.

2. Some system functions are not available.

3. Part of the interface display may look less than desirable.

4. Some applications may not work properly or be fully functional.

5. The system may have some stability issues.

realme just released the Android 15 Beta update for realme 12 Pro+. In their latest post, realme announced that the Android 15 update is available only for users in India. You can read our previous article to discover the new features coming with Android 15.

realme strongly advises against installing the released update if you reside in a different country. If you own an Indian realme 12 Pro+ unit, you can update to Android 15 with no problem. realme states that some applications may not function properly, and the system faces overall instability.

Some known bugs with the Android 15 Beta build for the realme 12 Pro+ include missing system features and perhaps broken or entirely non-working apps. There are problems with the system’s overall stability as well. Since the upgrade procedure will wipe all of your data, proceed with caution before installing the beta version and back up everything you currently have in your phone.

Android 15 for realme 12 Pro+

To update to Android 15, you must be on the latest firmware version. Ensure that the RMX3840_14.0.0.902(EX01) software version is currently installed on your device. After the update, your phone will have RMX3840_14.0.0.01 software version.

You need to download the update package to install Android 15 Beta on your device. Download the file from the link provided here (LINK). If you’re unsatisfied with the Android 15 update, you can also revert to Android 14 by downgrading. Get the rollback package here (LINK). Here’s what you need to do for updating to Android 15.

Download the update file and then copy into your phone’s internal storage.
Turn on developer options, go to Settings > Software Update > Settings in the upper right corner > select the update package you downloaded.
Click install and the system will reboot automatically after the update is completed.

If you’re not satisfied with the Android 15, you can go back to the previous version by following the same steps but with the rollback package instead. You can also visit realme’s official forum if you have further questions about your device.

Earlier today we reported about the realme 12 Pro series’ AIGC photo editing feature that has previously started rolling out in the US and Japan. It lets you easily remove an object from the image just by drawing a circle around it. The feature is capable enough to recognize and remove the object and recreate the part of the background that was covered by the unwanted object.

The phone is powered by the 4 nm-based Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. Another highlight of this phone is its 64 MP 3x telephoto camera. Aside from that, it equips a reasonably larger 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, 50MP main sensor and an additional 8 MP ultrawide. For selfies, this phone equips a 32MP front-facing camera.

Realme launched the Realme 12 Pro series smartphones in India last week. The brand revealed that the devices managed to achieve the fastest sales record in the Rs 30,000+ price segment during its early access sale period. The latest devices are set to launch in Realme’s home country later this month. Now, Realme Europe CEO Francis Wong has shared a hands-on image of the Realme 12 Pro+ with a transparent back panel.

The Realme executive has not explicitly revealed the name of the smartphone. From the hands-on image, it appears to be the Realme 12 Pro+. The device has a circular camera module accentuated by Gold color. And it houses three sensors including a periscope lens. The sensor placement is also similar to the 12 Pro+.

The hands-on image reveals the Realme 12 Pro+ with a transparent back panel. The internal components can be seen beneath the camera module and also in the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, the rest of the rear panel does not seem to reveal much internally. Realme could launch this variant of the 12 Pro+ in limited quantities. In his post, Wong asks users to suggest him where to launch it first. We can expect it to be announced in the China market since the official launch is this month.

The Realme 12 Pro+ is offered in Navigator Beige and Submarine Blue color options in India. Core specifications of the device include a 6.67-inch FHD+ curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W charging. Earlier this week, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ were unveiled in the Indian market. The new smartphones’ first open sale is set to kick off on 6th February 2024, however, the early access sale was already live. Now, the company has announced that the Realme 12 Pro series has set the fastest sales record for its price segment in the region.

To recall, the pre-orders for the new devices went live soon after their announcement offering benefits of up to Rs 5,999. In a tweet, the Chinese smartphone maker confirmed that the latest handsets were quite popular as they broke sales records in India. The Realme 12 Pro series managed to achieve the fastest sales record in the Rs 30,000+ price segment during its early access sale period.

Unfortunately, no official sales numbers were revealed on X (formerly Twitter). Although, it manages to retain the same momentum as the Realme 11 Pro 5G, which also set a new record for the highest first sales in the Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 price range in the past. For those unaware, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ models sport a tall 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

However, some specifications of the upcoming offerings are still unknown. Now, ahead of the launch, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on X has shared an unboxing video of the Realme 12 Pro+ Indian unit leaked by a retailer. It reveals more information of the device.

The Realme 12 Pro+ unboxing video shows the phone in the Submarine Blue color option along with a charger, cable, and a transparent back cover. It has a model number RMX3840. The device has a centre-aligned punch-hole screen with curved edges. Meanwhile, in another tweet shared by the tipster, the retail box revealed an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The leaked unboxing video reveals the smartphone’s core specifications in the Settings app’s About section. It confirms that the upcoming offering will be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. The device will pack 8GB RAM along with virtual RAM technology and the unit that is shown has 128GB onboard storage. The Realme 12 Pro+ will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit and the video also shows a charger confirming 67W fast charging speed.

Additionally, the unboxing video also reveals that the Realme 12 Pro+ will have a 32MP front-facing selfie snapper. It will have a 50MP + 8MP + 64MP triple rear camera setup. The Realme 12 Pro series is set to be unveiled in the Indian market on 29th January 2024. But prior to the official announcement, the Indian pricing for the base model of the Realme 12 Pro+ was revealed. So here are all the details.

Realme 12 Pro+ India Pricing Tipped

The news arrives from known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore who shared the information on X (formerly Twitter). In the tweet, he claims that the Realme 12 Pro+ model has a starting price tag of 34,999 INR (roughly 420 US Dollars). This is for the base storage configuration, which is reportedly features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The tipster adds that this is the MRP of the upcoming smartphone, so we can expect the actual selling price of the device to be around the 30,000 INR mark. This means that the Realme 12 Pro+ may launch for around 32,000 to 33,000 INR. It will likely launch with special introductory launch offers as well. Although, this is still just speculation at the moment so take this report with a pinch of salt for now.

Sudhanshu Ambhore also shared an image that highlights some of the key specifications of the device as well. This includes a Periscope Portrait Camera that supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) along with a Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS for photography. Realme is teasing key features of the Realme 12 Pro series smartphones ahead of their global debut on January 29. The pro and pro+ variants have also bagged multiple certifications. Both phones are set to arrive as the successor’s to last year’s Realme 11 Pro series. Now, the global variant of the Realme 12 Pro+ has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform revealing its hardware details.

On the Geekbench database, the Realme 12 Pro+ has the model number RMX3840. It is listed with a motherboard codenamed Parrot. The chipset setup comprises four cores clocked at 1.96GHz and four cores ticking at 2.40GHz. This hints at the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor powering the smartphone. The benchmarking database also reveals 12GB RAM onboard. There will be more RAM and storage configurations at launch. Software-wise, the upcoming offering will be loaded with Android 14 OS out of the box.

The Realme 12 Pro+ scores 1,025 and 2,915 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test results.

As per teasers, the Realme 12 Pro+ will have a 64MP OV64B periscope camera with 3x optical, 6x lossless, and 120x digital zoom. It will also feature super OIS. The upcoming offering along with the pro model is confirmed to feature a circular camera module with a Blue leather-textured back panel.

Realme has confirmed the launch of the Realme 12 Pro series in India later this month. The lineup will include the pro and pro+ models. The brand has already teased the design of the upcoming offerings in collaboration with a luxury watchmaker. Now, the Realme 12 Pro phones have bagged TUV certifications revealing their battery capacity and charging speeds. The Pro+ has also been spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification.
