Earlier this year, the Redmi A3x entry-level phone went official for the global market. In July, a premature listing of the A3x was spotted on Amazon India, even though there was no official announcement from the brand. It now appears that the phone has finally gone official, as it is now listed for purchase through Xiaomi India’s website. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device for the Indian market.

Redmi A3x price in India

The official website lists the Redmi A3x in two variants: 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB. The prices for these variants are Rs 6,999 (~$83) and Rs 7,999 (~$95), respectively. Only the base model of the phone is listed for purchase on Amazon India. The A3x can be bought in shades, such as Midnight Black, Ocean Green, Olive Green, and Starry White.

Redmi A3x specifications

The Redmi A3x measures 168.4 x 76.3 x 8.3mm and weighs 193 grams. On the front, it has a waterdrop notch display that measures 6.7 inches. It offers an HD+ resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits of brightness. A layer of Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen.

Under the hood, the Redmi A3x has the Unisoc T603 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, eMMC 5.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. For security, it offers features like a side-facing fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.

The A3x runs on Android 14, with a layer of MIUI on top. It is confirmed to be treated with two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates. For selfies, it has a 5-megapixel front camera, and its back panel has an 8-megapixel main camera and a 0.08-megapixel auxiliary lens. Last month, Redmi unveiled its new A3x smartphone in the global market. While the brand has yet to make an official announcement about its launch in India, an Amazon listing of the device was spotted by folks at SmartPrix, revealing some of its details including pricing.

As per the Amazon India listing, the Redmi A3x will have a 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant in India which will cost Rs 6,999. From the global launch earlier, we know that the device also has a 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model. The model spotted on Amazon India is the Starry White color variant. We can expect more colors such as Midnight Black, Ocean Green, and Olive Green at the official launch.

Redmi A3X specs:

The Redmi A3x has a 6.71-inch screen with a 1650 x 720 resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. It runs on a Unisoc Tiger T603 processor with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores at 1.8 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6 GHz.

It comes with 3 GB or 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, expandable up to 1 TB via MicroSD. The phone has a 5,000 mAh battery with 10 W charging through USB Type-C.

The device features an 8 MP main camera, a QVGA lens, and a 5 MP front camera. It includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual SIM capability, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi A3x runs on Android 14 and will receive two major Android updates and security updates through 2027.

The Chinese tech giant’s upcoming A3x Indian model surfaced on the Google Play Console database. This listing confirmed that it carries the 24048RN6CI model number. The “I” signifies the Indian variant, unlike the 24048RN6CG which is for the global market. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any finer details regarding the new budget phone.

However, we have more details thanks to its previous announcement. To recall, the 6.71-inch IPS LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it is equipped with the UNISOC T603 processor, which is paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You can even expand storage by up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.

For optics, there is an 8-megapixel dual AI camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 15W wired fast charging. Both models are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added screen protection. The design and build quality are basic but fairly basic but functional.

We already got a peek at the Redmi A3x’s specs yesterday, but a new leak from SpillSomeBeans just blew the doors wide open. The publication shared a treasure trove of marketing materials that reveal almost everything there is to know about the phone.

As expected, the Redmi A3x borrows heavily from its sibling, the Redmi A3. It features a familiar 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, DC Dimming technology for eye comfort, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The rear camera setup remains a dual-sensor affair with a 50MP main and an auxiliary sensor. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 5MP front camera. Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery and security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The leak clarifies that the key differentiator between the A3x and the A3 is the chipset. The A3x opts for a Unisoc T603 SoC, while the A3 has a MediaTek Helio G36. 

Xiaomi’s marketing materials suggest comparable performance between the two processors on the AnTuTu benchmark. The A3x will come with 3GB of RAM and you will be able to virtually expand it by up to 4GB.

Another difference is in the color options. The A3x sheds the leather finish of the A3’s Forest Green variant, opting for a glass back with a new name – Aurora Green. 

The MoonLight White color of the A3 is replaced by Star Blue on the A3x, while Midnight Black remains the same for both models. 

All three colorways sport glass backs, plastic frames, and a thickness of 8.3mm. Interestingly, Xiaomi is comparing the A3x’s camera design to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, terming it a “Xiaomi’s heritage design.”

Rounding out the specifications, the Redmi A3x runs Android 14 out of the box with a commitment of 2 years of major OS updates and 3 years of security patches. It has a single speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio, and charging is handled via a USB Type-C port.

In March, we reported that Redmi is preparing to launch its next budget smartphone, the Redmi A3x. Although we had few details about its specifications at the time, a recent leak has now shed light on the key specs of the phone.

Tipster Paras Guglani, via PassionateGeekz, shared marketing material for the Redmi A3x, showing that it has a design similar to the Redmi A3.

The specifications of the phone also appear to be quite similar to the Redmi A3. The Redmi A3x features a 6.71-inch HD+ display with a U-shaped notch and a 90Hz refresh rate. 

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the back has a glass finish with a round camera island housing an 8MP main camera and an auxiliary lens. For selfies, there is a 5MP front camera.

The main difference between the Redmi A3x and the Redmi A3 is the processor. The Redmi A3x will be powered by a Unisoc T603 processor, unlike the Redmi A3, which has a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. This is the same processor used in the Itel A70, which launched in India in January.

The Redmi A3x comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with the option to expand the RAM virtually up to 4 GB. Keeping all things powered is a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging.

The phone will run on Android 14 out of the box and will include both side-mounted fingerprint and face unlock for biometrics. It will be available in Green and Gray color options.

While the tipster did not reveal the pricing, its specifications are similar to the Redmi A3, which starts at Rs 7299 in India. So we expect the Redmi A3x to be priced in a similar range.

We don’t know the specifications of the smartphone, but it is expected to have similar features to the Redmi A3. The Redmi A series is affordable and is generally designed for needs such as communication. The main focus is on calling, messaging and normal internet usage. Now that the Redmi A3x is coming, users are surprised.

Redmi A3x: Arriving in April

The Redmi A3 had similar specifications to the Redmi A2. These smartphones were created for users who only make calls and text messages. The Redmi A series is not a high-performance smartphone series; the focus is on everyday use. The Chinese brand is set to announce the Redmi A3x shortly after. We’ll reveal what’s known about the Redmi A3x, which we’ve spotted through internal sources.

The Redmi A3x has the model numbers “24048RN6CG” and “24048RN6CI“. The number “2404” at the beginning of the model number points to April 2024, indicating that this smartphone will be unveiled in April. In addition, the letters “G” and “I” at the end of the model numbers reveal the regions where the device will be sold. The Redmi A3x will be officially available in the Global and Indian markets.
