Xiaomi had recently teased the launch of a new Redmi series laptop in in its home market China and today the company has officially launched the new Redmi G Pro Gaming Laptop Ryzen Edition in the Chinese market.

The newly announced Redmi G Pro laptop, which as the name itself indicates, is dedicated to gamers and comes with powerful specifications. The device is priced at 7,599 yuan, which roughly converts to $1,092.

Coming to the specifications, the device features a 16-inch LCD panel that supports a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels along with a 240Hz refresh rate. It also comes with support for 100% sRGB color gamut, 500nit brightness, 10bit color depth, DC Dimming, and HDR 400 certification.

Under the hood, the laptop is powered by the AMD Ryzen R7-6800H processor, coupled with RTX 3060 6G 130W graphics processor. In terms of memory, the device packs 16GB dual-channel DDR5-4800 RAM and 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

It also comes with four heat pipes and dual 12V fans to ensure the temperature remains in check even under heavy load. There’s a USB-C port with 100W PD support, three USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, one USB-A 2.0 port, a Mini DP 1.4 port, HDMI 2.0 port, an SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone hack along with a network port and a DC power port.

In the software department, the device runs the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system out-of-the-box. The laptop, which weighs 2.66kg and measures 28.45mm in thickness, is powered by an 80Wh battery and comes with a 330W power adapter.

The Redmi G Pro Gaming Laptop Ryzen Edition laptop is priced at 7,599 yuan, which roughly converts to $1,092. It is currently available for pre-order, and the shipments are expected to start from 15th September in China.

Back in July, Redmi launched the Redmi G 2022 gaming laptop in China featuring 12th Gen Intel H-series processors. Now, the brand is teasing the release of the Redmi G Pro Ryzen Edition. For the unaware, this is the company’s first Pro-series gaming laptop. Hence, the name does not include a year.

The Redmi G Pro Ryzen Edition gaming laptop has been confirmed to launch in China on September 7. It has been also revealed to house AMD Ryzen 7 6800H CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU.

Apart from these two parameters, the brand is yet to disclose anything about its upcoming gaming laptop. In fact, it hasn’t even teased the design yet.

Rumors say that the Redmi G Pro will be almost identical to the Redmi G 2022, except for processor and GPU.

If the rumors are true, then the forthcoming laptop will arrive with a 16-inch 2.5K 165Hz display, full-size backlit keyboard, 2 x 2W speakers, HD (720p) webcam, Thunderbolt 4, MiniDP 1.4, HDMI 2.1, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and more.

Either way, just like the previous Redmi G gaming laptop models, this one will also most likely remain China-exclusive. Since official service is not available in international markets, it does not make sense to import it either.
