<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> is stepping up its game — quite literally. The company has just rolled out an update to its Game Center app, and this one could get PC gamers rather curious. The latest version, which is already available on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/23/redmi-k90-launches-with-snapdragon-8-elite-bose-tuned-speaker-and-7100mah-battery-under-400/">REDMI K90</a> series, adds a major new feature that lets users play Steam games directly on their Xiaomi phones. It’s still experimental, but it’s a big leap forward for gaming on Android.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-713237" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Xiaomis-updated-PC-game-emulation-system-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The updated Xiaomi Game Center introduces an improved PC game emulation experience. While emulation tools like GameHub and Winlator are already popular in the Android gaming community, Xiaomi’s in-house solution is beginning to take shape. With this new update, the company’s Game Center app can now run certain Steam titles locally.</p>

<p>For now, the feature officially supports three well-known titles — Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Stardew Valley. Though limited in number, these games demonstrate the capability of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/21/xiaomi-introduces-winplay-enables-windows-gaming-on-android-tablets/">Xiaomi’s WinPlay Engine</a>, which the company previously showcased as being capable of running PC games directly on mobile devices.</p>

<p>Beyond that, Xiaomi has added several quality-of-life improvements to the Game Center app. There’s now an achievement system and proper cloud save synchronization, allowing players to switch devices without losing progress. Controller compatibility has also been enhanced, with support for popular gamepads. For those without external controllers, the app introduces new on-screen controls that intelligently adapt to short and long presses required by different games.</p>

<p>Sun Cun emphasizes that the Steam local play support is still in an experimental stage, meaning users might encounter a few hiccups along the way. However, the Redmi team is actively working to iron out these issues. If Xiaomi manages to refine this experience, it could become one of the most accessible ways to enjoy PC titles natively on a smartphone — and that’s a development worth watching.</p>

<p>The countdown to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a>’s next major launch has officially begun. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a>&#8216;s subsidiary is unveiling the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a> model tomorrow, 23rd October 2025. And now, it has been confirmed that the standard <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k90/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi K90 </a>will also debut alongside this high end model. </p>

<h2>What to Expect from the Redmi K90?</h2>

<p>The Chinese tech giant will launch the Redmi K90 tomorrow with a familiar design, appearing similar to the flagship Xiaomi 17 or even the Apple iPhone 17. Earlier today, the brand shared a series of teasers that confirm much of the key specs and the design elements of the upcoming device. The Redmi K90 features a cold forging manufacturing process for its aluminum frame, with the front and back featuring a glass panel. Like the Xiaomi 17, it features a flat rear panel with rounded corners. It has a large rectangular camera module that houses the triple camera setup and LED flash module.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-712021" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Redmi-K90-white.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi K90</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the front, the smartphone sports a 6.59-inch OLED display with a high screen to body ratio of 94 percent, thanks to its uniform bezels on all four sides. While the resolution and refresh rate are still unknown, it will likely offer a 1.5K resolution and around 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, the Redmi K90&#8217;s screen is a tiny bit shorter than the 6.67-inch panel on the Redmi K80.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the base K90 is set to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite series chip, which <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/18/redmi-k90-3c-certified-snapdragon-8-gen-5-phone-may-launch-by-october-end/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>. This flagship grade chip might be paired with up to 16GB of RAM as well. Other notable features that were teased include a massive 7,100mAh battery pack with 100W wired fast charging support, a 2.1 audio system with Bose tuning, a 2.5x vertical telephoto shooter on the rear, and Android 16 OS based HyperOS 3 custom skin.</p>

</figure>

<p>Starting with the design, Redmi confirmed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90">Redmi K90</a> has a cold-forging design similar to the iPhone 17. For those unaware, cold forging is a manufacturing process where a metal (usually aluminium or stainless steel) is pressed or stamped into shape under extreme pressure using a die. For durability, it features a metal middle frame.</p>

<p>On the front, it features a 6.59-inch OLED panel with a high screen-to-body ratio of 94 percent, thanks to equal-sized slim bezels on all four sides. The exact screen resolution has not been confirmed, but rumors claim that it supports a 1.5K resolution.</p>

<p>While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k90-pro-max/">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a> has a 2.1 audio system featuring an extra rear-facing Bose speaker, the standard K90 comes with a Bose dual symmetrical speaker system. For photography, the device will be equipped with a 2.5x telephoto lens. However, the brand is yet to confirm the exact camera sensors.</p>

<p>The Redmi K90 is also confirmed to house a massive 7,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging. However, it lacks wireless charging support. The device will come preloaded with Android 16, featuring the HyperOS 3 skin on top. It will be available in three shades, such as white, light blue, and purple.</p>

<p>A recent certification suggests that the Poco F8 Ultra may launch soon as a rebranded version of the Redmi K90 Pro Max in markets outside of China. Likewise, the Redmi K90 could be rebranded as the Poco F8 Pro globally.</p>

<p>According to Weibing, the K90 series introduces two models: the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k90">Redmi K90</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k90-pro-max">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a>. This time, Redmi has advanced its product timeline from November to October, making it the brand’s earliest flagship launch in recent years. The K90 Pro Max will be the first “Pro Max” device under Redmi, targeting the 4,000 Yuan (~$560) above segment.</p>

<p>Weibing mentioned that the Pro Max aims to deliver “top-tier performance and quality,” excelling in performance, endurance, display, and camera technology. It is expected to feature a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch main sensor with optical image stabilization and a periscope telephoto lens, a first for the K series.</p>

<p>Weibing further stated that the K series is no longer defined by pricing or technical hierarchy, signalling Redmi’s readiness to compete directly with Xiaomi’s main lineup. The K90 will serve as an upgraded all-round flagship, while the K90 Pro Max will represent a comprehensive technology flagship focused on breakthrough innovation.</p>

<p>According to reports, the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/redmi-k90-pro-max.html">Redmi K90</a> and <a href="https://www.giztop.com/redmi-k90-pro-max.html">Redmi K90 Pro Max</a> will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">8 Elite Gen 5</a> chipsets, respectively. Both phones will have a 2K resolution OLED screen and are expected to arrive with up to 7,500mAh battery.</p>

<h2>Redmi K90 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Might Be a Flagship Killer?</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro" class="wp-image-662329" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Redmi-K80-and-K80-Pro-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s new Redmi K90 was just spotted on the GeekBench platform carrying the 2510DRK44C model number. Looking at the certification listing, the Redmi K90 managed to achieve a great score of 3080 points in the single core test and 9382 points in the multi core test. It received this score with Qualcomm&#8217;s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, which is paired with 16GB of RAM.</p>

<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s Redmi K90 also runs on the Android 16 OS out of the box, which likely includes the HyperOS 3 custom skin. The Redmi K90 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is getting a surprising upgrade, considering the Redmi K880 packed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. To recall, only the higher end Redmi K80 Pro got the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite last year. So this is a major performance bump compared to its predecessor.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi K90 " class="wp-image-709014" width="619" height="794" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench.jpg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench-234x300.jpg 234w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench-768x986.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench-696x893.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-GeekBench-327x420.jpg 327w" sizes="(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px" /></figure></div>

<p>Based on what we know so far, the Redmi K90 might support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/18/redmi-k90-3c-certified-snapdragon-8-gen-5-phone-may-launch-by-october-end/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">100W wired fast charging</a> and a massive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/01/redmi-k90-redmi-k90-pro-chipset-battery-charging/">7,100mAh battery</a> pack. It may feature <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/14/xiaomi-16-and-redmi-k90-may-feature-2k-real-rgb-oled-panels/">a 6.59-inch flat RGB OLED LTPS display</a> with 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security. Other expected features include dual stereo speakers, a premium metal frame, and an x-axis linear motor. Xiaomi announced the K80 series back in November 2024, so the K90 lineup could see a similar launch timeline.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi K90 3C certified</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="304" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-1024x304.png?x44794" alt="Redmi K90 3C certified" class="wp-image-707270" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-1024x304.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-300x89.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-768x228.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-696x207.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified-1068x318.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Redmi-K90-3C-certified.png 1305w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi K90 3C certified</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Recent reports have revealed that the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro have model numbers 2510DRK44C and 25102RKBEC, respectively. As can be seen above, the alleged K90 has emerged in 3C’s database, revealing it may ship with a 100W charger.</p>

<p>The Redmi K90 and K90 Pro are said to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Gen 5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a> chipsets, respectively. While the Elite edition will debut next week, the 8 Gen 5 may go official in October.</p>

<p>According to reports, the Redmi K90 will feature <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/14/xiaomi-16-and-redmi-k90-may-feature-2k-real-rgb-oled-panels/">a 6.59-inch flat RGB OLED LTPS 120Hz display</a> offering a 2K resolution. For security, it will have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/08/redmi-k90-pro-specifications-leak-periscope-camera/">an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor</a>.</p>

<p>The Redmi K90 is expected to pack <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/01/redmi-k90-redmi-k90-pro-chipset-battery-charging/">a 7,100mAh battery with 100W charging support</a>. It is also expected to feature dual stereo speakers, a premium metal mid-frame, and an x-axis linear motor.</p>

<p>The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered Redmi K90 Pro may pack a larger 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging. The inclusion of a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/22/redmi-k90-pro-ov50q-periscope-camera/">periscope telephoto camera</a> could be another differentiating feature compared to the Redmi K90. The rest of the specs could be identical on both phones.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="821" height="375" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-133.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-707273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-133.png 821w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-133-300x137.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-133-768x351.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-133-696x318.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 821px) 100vw, 821px" /></figure></div>

<p>As far as launch is concerned, the Redmi K90 series is expected to debut around a month after the Xiaomi 17 series. The above DCS leak suggests that it may launch by late October.</p>

<p>Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco is expected to announce the Poco F8 series in Q1 2026. The Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra are said to be rebranded versions of the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro, respectively.</p>

<p>While Xiaomi may unveil the Xiaomi 16 series in September as the world’s first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, October could see the launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> K90 series in China. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared new information via a Weibo post, revealing key battery and charging specifications for the upcoming Redmi K90 and K90 Pro models.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi K90 series battery, charging details (rumored)</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="853" height="234" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-1.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-699797" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-1.png 853w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-1-300x82.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-1-768x211.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-1-696x191.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px" /></figure>

<p>According to the leak, the Redmi K90 will likely feature a 7,100mAh battery, while the K90 Pro may come with a slightly larger 7,500mAh unit. Both devices are expected to use single-cell silicon-carbon battery technology and support fast 100W charging.</p>

<p>Previous leaks indicate that the Redmi K90 Pro and K90 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Snapdragon SM8845 chipsets, respectively. As per a new leak, the SM8845 chip will be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 when it hits the market.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="859" height="132" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-2.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-699798" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-2.png 859w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-2-300x46.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-2-768x118.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-2-696x107.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 859px) 100vw, 859px" /></figure></div>

<p>The series may feature a 6.59-inch flat <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/14/xiaomi-16-and-redmi-k90-may-feature-2k-real-rgb-oled-panels/">RGB OLED LTPS screen</a> offering a 2K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro model is expected to arrive with features like a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/22/redmi-k90-pro-ov50q-periscope-camera/">periscope</a> telephoto camera<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/08/redmi-k90-pro-specifications-leak-periscope-camera/">, an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor</a>, dual stereo speakers, a premium metal mid-frame, and an x-axis linear motor for enhanced haptics.</p>

<h3><strong>Poco F8 series expected as global counterpart</strong></h3>

<p>Reports suggest that the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro could be rebranded as the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra for international markets. Additionally, the standard Poco F8 is tipped to launch in Q2 2026, potentially as a rebadged version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, which is rumoured to debut with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 chipset.</p>

<p>Alongside its flagship offerings, Redmi is also working on budget-friendly models. The brand is expected to announce the Redmi 15 series and the Redmi Note 15 series later this month and in September in China.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a>’s K90 series has been in the rumor mill for a while now. The phones are expected to launch sometime in October, and based on a new leak, it looks like Xiaomi is preparing for a major overhaul, especially for the base model. </p>

<p>According to tipster Digital Chat Station, all models in the Redmi K90 series will include a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. On the K80 series, only the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pro model</a> features a telephoto lens. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">regular </a>and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ultra variants</a> were limited to wide and ultrawide setups.</p>

<p>The display is also getting reworked. The tipster mentions a “customized new screen” with a “large R angle,” which likely means more rounded corners and a refined front design. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="342" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Redmi-K90-series-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-697751" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Redmi-K90-series-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Redmi-K90-series-leak-300x114.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Redmi-K90-series-leak-768x292.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Redmi-K90-series-leak-696x264.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Xiaomi is also said to be using a new base material for the panel, although it’s unclear what impact that will have on display quality or durability. You can also expect a continued focus on OLED, high refresh rates, and high brightness, in line with K80 standards.</p>

<p>More interestingly, the leak claims that all K90 models will come with symmetrical dual speakers, a metal middle frame, and an upgraded 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.. The K80 series already featured under-display ultrasonic sensors, but the new setup could offer faster or more reliable unlocking.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="478" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-1024x478.png?x44794" alt="Redmi K80 Ultra" class="wp-image-694342" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-1024x478.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-300x140.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-768x359.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-696x325.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-1068x499.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3-899x420.png 899w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Ultra-3.png 1400w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi K80 Ultra</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The K90 phones are also expected to carry large 7000mAh-class batteries and support 100W wired charging. That would be a boost over the 6550mAh/90W setup on the K80 and align with the 7410mAh/100W spec seen on the K80 Ultra. IP68 water resistance is also sticking around for the full lineup.</p>

<p>What’s clear from the leak is that the biggest shift could come to the base K90 model. Unlike the K80, which had to compromise on the telephoto lens and a few other high-end specs, the K90 might offer a flagship-grade experience even at the entry level, at least on paper.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> unveiled the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro in November last year in China. The rebranded versions of these phones, with monikers Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra, were released globally in February this year. Redmi and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/poco">Poco</a> are expected to use the same strategy for the Redmi K90 series and Poco F8 lineup. This has become all the more evident through the IMEI database listings of these devices.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi K90 / Poco F8 series model numbers (rumored)</strong></h3>

<p>Two Redmi phones with model numbers 2510DRK44C and 25102RKBEC have emerged in the IMEI database. The internal codes of these devices are P11 and P11U, and their codenames are Annibale and Myron. The IMEI database listings have not revealed the final marketing names of these devices. However, they are expected to be called the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro, respectively, when they hit the Chinese market in October this year.</p>

<p>At the same time, two Poco smartphones with model numbers 2510DPC44G and 25102PCBEG have also surfaced in the IMEI database. These devices are said to be called the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra when they launch globally next year. Their internal codes and codenames are the same as the K90 and K90 Pro. It should be noted that the exact names of the F8 models have not surfaced in the IMEI database.</p>

<p>The Redmi K90 and Poco F8 Pro are expected to feature last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> (first generation). On the other hand, the K90 Pro and F8 Ultra are expected to feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a>, which is likely to debut in September this year.</p>

<p>The Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra may launch in the first quarter of 2026. The lineup may also include the standard Poco F8. It is likely that the F8 could be a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/01/redmi-turbo-5-pro-poco-f8-8000mah-battery-rumor/">rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro</a>, which is expected to debut in Q2 2026.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> may equip its upcoming flagship and sub-flagship smartphones with new Real RGB OLED displays, according to a leak shared by tipster Digital Chat Station. The 2K Real RGB OLED panels are expected to enter mass production in September and could debut with the Xiaomi 16 and Redmi K90 series.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 16 render" class="wp-image-692264" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Xiaomi-16-render.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Credit: Majin Bu</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>These panels use a full RGB sub-pixel layout, allowing each red, green, and blue sub-pixel to emit light independently. This structure differs from the commonly used PenTile arrangement, which relies on fewer sub-pixels per pixel and can reduce visual clarity. The Real RGB layout minimizes pixel density loss and improves sharpness, especially in text rendering. The panel aims to match the crispness of LCD screens at the same resolution while maintaining OLED advantages such as high contrast and deep blacks.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="879" height="188" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-59.png?x44794" alt="Real RGB OLED Leak DCS" class="wp-image-692267" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-59.png 879w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-59-300x64.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-59-768x164.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-59-696x149.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 879px) 100vw, 879px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Real RGB OLED also addresses a key issue in traditional OLED panels: screen burn-in caused by the shorter lifespan of blue sub-pixels. TCL CSOT, which is likely the panel supplier, has reportedly improved the luminous efficiency of the blue sub-pixel to extend the overall panel life.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/05/xiaomi-may-equip-redmi-k90-with-6-59-inch-2k-ltps-flat-display/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">leak also connects to a previous report</a> where Xiaomi was rumored to use a new 6.59-inch ±2K LTPS flat display in the Redmi K90 series. That panel is said to feature a high pixel density and next-generation materials. The design is expected to include slim bezels and a wide aspect ratio with large-radius corners, suggesting a focus on modern aesthetics and immersive visuals.</p>

<p>The Redmi K80 featured a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen co-developed with TCL CSOT. The move to a slightly smaller but sharper display in the K90 series may reflect Xiaomi’s shift toward higher visual fidelity and power efficiency. Although the exact models that will use the new panels have not been confirmed, both the Xiaomi 16 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a> K90 are strong candidates based on timing and product positioning.</p>

<p>Mass production starting in September suggests that the new panels could appear in consumer devices before the end of the year.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> might be getting ready to change things up with the upcoming Redmi K90 series, if a new display rumor is anything to go by. According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station, a new 6.59-inch ±2K LTPS flat panel is currently under development, and speculation points toward it making its way to Xiaomi’s popular <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a> lineup, most likely the K90.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="418" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi K80 Pro" class="wp-image-690413" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Pro.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Pro-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K80-Pro-696x379.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure></div>

<p>Details around the panel itself suggest that this isn&#8217;t just another mid-range screen upgrade. The display is said to feature exceptionally high pixel density, which could translate into better sharpness and detail across the UI and media playback. It reportedly makes use of next-generation materials and manufacturing techniques usually reserved for flagship-tier panels. The design, too, is getting some attention: a wide-screen layout with slim bezels and large-radius corners gives it a more modern, immersive aesthetic.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="944" height="249" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K90-series-display-specs-leak.png?x44794" alt="Redmi K90 series display specs leak" class="wp-image-690414" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K90-series-display-specs-leak.png 944w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K90-series-display-specs-leak-300x79.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K90-series-display-specs-leak-768x203.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Redmi-K90-series-display-specs-leak-696x184.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 944px) 100vw, 944px" /></figure></div>

<p>While the exact phone model remains unnamed, commenters were quick to connect the dots to the Redmi K90, given the timing and positioning of the leak. If true, it marks a slight but deliberate shift from the current <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">K80</a>’s 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, a display jointly developed with TCL CSOT that already boasts impressive specs like M9 luminescent material, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3200 nits of peak brightness.</p>

<p>That TCL connection is worth keeping an eye on. While the leak doesn’t explicitly mention TCL CSOT’s involvement in this new panel, Xiaomi has a long-standing partnership with the display manufacturer. Their collaboration spans multiple generations, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-15s-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15S Pro</a>, which uses TCL CSOT’s newer C9 luminescent material and a dual-microcavity design that optimizes luminous efficiency while maintaining low power draw. The panel delivers up to 3200 nits of peak brightness, all while maintaining power efficiency.</p>

<p>Until official confirmation arrives, the display’s origins and eventual phone pairing remain speculative. But one thing is clear: Xiaomi is likely continuing to push visual fidelity further in its sub-flagship category. The K90, if it is indeed the target, may land with a slightly smaller screen, but could pack more punch than its predecessor where it matters, pixel sharpness, panel efficiency, and next-gen materials that blur the line between mid-range and premium.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 4 Pro incoming in April</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="957" height="484" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-676354" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26.png 957w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26-300x152.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26-768x388.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26-696x352.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-26-830x420.png 830w" sizes="(max-width: 957px) 100vw, 957px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi&#8217;s forthcoming devices officially confirmed </figcaption></figure>

<p>One of the biggest announcements was the upcoming launch of a new Redmi smartphone, expected next month. This device, believed to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-4-pro">Redmi Turbo 4 Pro</a>, is designed to cater to young consumers seeking high performance, quality, and extended battery life. The phone is rumored to feature the next-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8s-elite">Snapdragon 8s Elite</a> chipset, which could make it one of the first phones to run on this powerful new processor. Expect excellent performance, a long-lasting battery, and overall improved user experience.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi K80 Ultra and next Xiaomi Civi phone confirmed</strong></h3>

<p>In addition to the Turbo 4 Pro, Mia revealed that Xiaomi is working on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k80-ultra">Redmi K80 Ultra</a>, with a release expected earlier than last year’s model. While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k70-ultra">Redmi K70 Ultra</a> launched in July 2024, the K80 Ultra could be unveiled in May or June. This device is likely to feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-9400-plus">Dimensity 9400 Plus</a> chipset, which will also power future models from Vivo, Oppo, and iQOO.</p>

<p>For fans seeking a balanced flagship experience, the Xiaomi Civi series will also see a significant update. The upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-civi-5-pro/">Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro</a> is expected to offer major improvements, all while maintaining its sleek and compact design. This model may include the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8s-elite">Snapdragon 8s Elite</a> SoC, delivering top-tier performance in a premium, smaller package.</p>

<p>Furthermore, Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new tablet aimed at users who demand both portability and power. This device is rumored to be the<strong> </strong>Xiaomi Pad 7s Pro<strong>,</strong> which was recently spotted at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/03/xiaomi-pad-7s-pro-3c-certification/">China’s 3C certification</a> with a 120W charger.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi K90 Series and Xiaomi YU7</strong></h3>

<p>Mia also mentioned that Xiaomi is working on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-k90">Redmi K90</a> series, focusing particularly on a major upgrade to its imaging capabilities. However, since the K90 is still in early development, she advised fans to focus on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k80">Redmi K80</a> lineup for now. Based on Xiaomi’s usual release schedule, the K90 series could be announced in November 2025.</p>

<p>Finally, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-yu7">Xiaomi’s YU7</a> model, which is being hyped as a Tesla Model Y killer, is undergoing road testing. The test will be led by Xiaomi’s top executive, Wang Teng Thomas, with reports suggesting the device will debut in China in July.</p>

<p>Interestingly, there was no mention of Xiaomi&#8217;s foldable segment during the live broadcast. According to reports, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mix-flip-2">Xiaomi Mix Flip 2</a>, which is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, is slated for a May release. However, it appears that there will be no new book-style foldable device from the brand this year</p>

<p>It hasn’t been long since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi</a> unveiled the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> K80 </a>series in China. And their global counterparts—likely launching as the Poco F7 lineup—have yet to make their debut internationally. However, the leak mill has already moved on to spilling details about the Redmi K90 series.</p>

<p>A leak from last week hinted that the vanilla Redmi K90 could feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/14/redmi-k90-may-feature-custom-snapdragon-sm8845-chip-with-snapdragon-8-elite-level-performance/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">custom-designed 3nm+ chip</a>, developed in collaboration between Qualcomm and Redmi. The processor is rumored to have a fully custom architecture and is expected to deliver benchmark scores comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.</p>

<p>Now, a new leak from reliable industry tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the launch details of the upcoming phones. According to the leak, the Redmi K90 series will launch earlier than its predecessors—possibly in October. For comparison, the K80 series made its debut in late November.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="292" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Redmi-K90-October-launch.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-673709" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Redmi-K90-October-launch.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Redmi-K90-October-launch-300x97.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Redmi-K90-October-launch-768x249.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Redmi-K90-October-launch-696x226.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<h2><strong>What we know so far</strong></h2>

<p>Even if the Redmi K90 series launches earlier than expected, there’s still plenty of time before we get official details. Based on current leaks, the Redmi K90 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip and a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/21/redmi-k90-pros-first-leak-reveals-50mp-periscope-camera-snapdragon-8-elite-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera</a>. On the front, it will retain a flat OLED panel with 2K resolution, similar to the K80 Pro.</p>

<p>One of the most significant rumors so far is that Redmi is planning yet another price hike for the K90 series. A report suggests that Redmi might push the K90 Pro into the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/26/redmi-k90-pro-to-hit-5000-yuan-price-mark-leak-claims/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> 5,000-yuan price bracket</a>.</p>

<p>The K90 Pro will reportedly cost between 4,000 and 5,000 yuan. And even if we take the lower end of that range, the K90 Pro would see a price increase of around 9% compared to the K80 Pro and 22% compared to the K70 Pro.</p>

<p>Qualcomm is expected to unveil the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset in October of this year. Like last year, a slew Chinese flagship phones equipped with the new SD8E2 chip are expected to launch in the last quarter of this year. Likely, the Xiaomi 16 series could be among the first adopters of the new chip. Xiaomi’s sub-brand <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi">Redmi</a> is also expected to unveil the Redmi K90 series by the end of this year. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, reveals that the K90 could be equipped with a new custom-made chipset.</p>

<p>Over the past few years, Redmi’s K-series flagships for the Chinese market have followed a pattern of featuring two models: a standard and a Pro variant, powered by the previous Snapdragon flagship and the latest Snapdragon flagship chip, respectively.</p>

<p>For instance, the Redmi K70 series, which launched in 2023, included the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k70">K70</a> with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2—originally introduced in 2022—and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k70-pro/">the K70 Pro</a> with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which debuted in 2023. Similarly, last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80/">Redmi K80</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-k80-pro/">K80 Pro</a> were equipped with the <a href="https://d.docs.live.net/ba4e0be9c9ae9aae/Work/Work%202025/GizmoChina%202025/itel%20Zeno%2010%20hands.docx">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> and Snapdragon 8 Elite, respectively.</p>

<p>Following this trend, the rumor mill has speculated that the upcoming Redmi K90 may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/21/redmi-k90-pros-first-leak-reveals-50mp-periscope-camera-snapdragon-8-elite-2/">K90 Pro</a> could be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a>. However, the latest leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests a different story.</p>

<p>A recent Weibo post by Digital Chat Station suggests that the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming SM8845 and SM8850 chipsets.</p>

<p>The SM8850 is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the SM8845 is a custom-designed 3nm+ chip, developed by Qualcomm in collaboration with Redmi. According to DCS, this chipset features a fully custom architecture and is designed to deliver benchmark scores comparable to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> (SM8750). However, its real-world performance remains uncertain.</p>

<p>Additionally, the tipster indicates that the chipset selection for the Redmi K90 series is focused on price positioning, prioritising affordability over raw performance. Speaking of price, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/26/redmi-k90-pro-to-hit-5000-yuan-price-mark-leak-claims/">recent leak</a> by the same source revealed that the K90 series may arrive with a price hike. It is speculated that the Pro could be priced between 4,000 Yuan (~$550) and 5,000 Yuan (~$685).</p>
