<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers</a> in the world, and the company introduces dozens, if not hundreds, of new models every year. However, did you know that all Samsung models, whether entry-level or flagship, have a common problem? This problem, caused by the slowness of the stock camera application, has bothered some users, if not everyone, and caused them to miss unique moments by milliseconds. The company eventually admitted that the phone&#8217;s camera was slower than it should be and fixed it, but not everyone received the fix. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Samsung just admitted your phone’s camera is slower than it should be </strong></h2>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> has recently admitted that its stock camera app on Galaxy smartphones can sometimes be slow in capturing moments. The admission came with a new update that introduced a feature called Quick Shutter Tap in the Camera Assistant app. This feature captures photos as soon as your finger touches the shutter button, rather than when you release it. That&#8217;s how saving off a few milliseconds from the capture time. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-1024x576.webp?x10805" alt="Samsung Camera Assistant app" class="wp-image-517829" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-2.webp 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>While this feature can help you capture the moments you actually wanted to capture, the fact that it&#8217;s only available through the Camera Assistant app is a cause for concern. The Camera Assistant app is not compatible with lower-end or mid-range smartphones, and even some high-end smartphones aren&#8217;t compatible with it. </p>

<p>This means that millions of Galaxy users are being deprived of faster capture times (and probably cherished memories) because they can&#8217;t use the app. Instead of hiding this simple option in the Camera Assistant app, Samsung should bring the feature to the stock camera app on all Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The feature should be turned on by default, so that everyone can benefit from it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="477" height="1024" data-id="517830"  src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-477x1024.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-517830" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-477x1024.webp 477w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-140x300.webp 140w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-696x1493.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-196x420.webp 196w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update.webp 716w" sizes="(max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="477" height="1024" data-id="517831"  src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1-477x1024.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-517831" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1-477x1024.webp 477w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1-140x300.webp 140w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1-696x1493.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1-196x420.webp 196w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/samsung-galaxy-camera-assistant-app-update-1.webp 716w" sizes="(max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>In addition to Quick Shutter Tap, Samsung should also consider bringing the Capture Speed feature from the Camera Assistant app to the stock camera&#8217;s settings section. Samsung phones can sometimes take too much time to capture a shot for HDR and multi-frame noise reduction processing, and this can lead to missed moments or blurred images of fast-moving subjects. </p>

<p>By automatically detecting moving objects and prioritizing shutter speed over image quality in such situations, Samsung can significantly improve the camera experience for a lot of Galaxy users. Samsung&#8217;s admission that its stock camera app can be slow in capturing moments is a step in the right direction. However, the company needs to take more concrete steps to address this issue. </p>

<p>By bringing Quick Shutter Tap and Capture Speed to the stock camera app, the company can improve the camera experience for all Galaxy users, regardless of their device&#8217;s specifications. We hope Samsung takes this feedback into consideration and makes the necessary changes in its upcoming updates.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> is reportedly working on making its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/24/samsung-camera-assistant-app-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Camera Assistant app</a> available for more devices, according to a post on the company&#8217;s community forum for South Korea. The brand has stated that it will try to make the app available for as many devices as possible and will announce the expansion schedule soon.</p>

<p>The Camera Assistant app is a module for the Good Lock app and was launched in October of this year. It offers advanced customization options for the camera&#8217;s settings and behavior, giving users more control over their device&#8217;s camera than the stock camera app. With the Camera Assistant app, users can customize the auto mode of their device&#8217;s camera and enable or disable automatic HDR. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-505319" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/samsung-camera-assistant-app-coming-to-more-galaxy-devices.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>It also allows for automatic lens switching when shooting subjects that are far away and enables users to shoot videos while in Photo mode by holding down the shutter button. Additionally, the app includes a Quick Shot feature that reduces motion blur in still images, although it may slightly lower image quality.</p>

<p>Despite its useful features, the Camera Assistant app has only been available for the Galaxy S22 series since its launch, leaving users of other devices without access. Many users have been requesting that Samsung make the app available for their devices as well, and it seems that the brand has taken their feedback into consideration. However, it is currently unclear which devices the app will be available on or when it will be released.</p>

<p>In addition to working on expanding the availability of the Camera Assistant app, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> has also recently updated the app to allow its icon to adapt to the color of the phone&#8217;s wallpaper, thanks to Android 13&#8217;s dynamic icon feature. The brand has also released the updated Expert RAW app, which allows users to capture bright photos of stars and constellations. With these updates and the potential expansion of the Camera Assistant app, it seems that Samsung is dedicated to improving the camera experience for its users. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>just launched a new app called the Camera Assistant that is being released for Galaxy smartphones. The new app is a part of the company&#8217;s Good Lock suite of personalization apps that aim to improve the user experience. </p>

<p>The South Korean tech giant has announced the new Camera Assistant application that aims to offer advanced features while using the Galaxy phone&#8217;s camera. This would help improve the users customizability with the camera&#8217;s auto mode. As of right now, the app is available in regions like India, South Korea, and some other markets through the Galaxy Store. Furthermore, this app also brings the ability to let users disable or enable automatic HDR as well.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="761" height="312" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot-2022-10-24-164250.png?x10805" alt="Samsung" class="wp-image-492024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot-2022-10-24-164250.png 761w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot-2022-10-24-164250-300x123.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot-2022-10-24-164250-696x285.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px" /></figure></div>

<p>Apart from this, Galaxy phone users can also expect to see soft photo texture and even automatic lens switching when shooting subjects that are away from the user. Notably, the new Camera Assistant app also allows you to shoot videos even when they are using the Photo mode. Users can even hold the shutter button to start recording videos. One of the most important features added to the Camera Assistant is the Quick Shot option that lets you reduce motion blur in still images.</p>

<p>Although, Samsung stated that the image quality might be lowered slightly when the feature is used. But, it should help in better capturing quick moving subjects like pets. With this new app, there is no need for any setup since it basically enables a number of new options into the Galaxy phone&#8217;s camera settings that users can toggle as per their requirements.
