Samsung debuted the Galaxy A15 5G in India in December. It was announced in an 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations. Now, the South Korean brand has launched a new variant of the Galaxy A15 5G. This gives users more options while making a purchase decision for the device. 

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G gets a new variant

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G now comes in a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It carries a price tag of Rs 17,999. The smartphone is already available from the brand’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and leading retail stores across the country. Buyers can avail discounts via select bank offers depending on the channel they purchase the Galaxy A15 5G from. The device can be availed in Blue Black, Light Blue, and Blue color options. 

Apart from the RAM changes, the new variant packs the same specifications as the other two configurations. The Galaxy A15 5G has a 6.5-inch sAMOLED display with a waterdrop notch, FHD+ resolution, and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a Key Island design which is a protrusion on the right edge housing power and volume rocker buttons. The smartphone features a 50MP main camera paired with a 5MP ultra-wide-angle and 2MP depth lenses. 

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 25W fast charging. The device runs on Android 14 OS out of the box.

One of the major features of the trio is that they come equipped with Samsung’s new Key Island feature, which is nothing but a unique embossed border design with rounded edges designed to offer a comfortable grip. Here is a look at the specifications and features of the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25.

Samsung Galaxy A15 4G, Galaxy A15 5G specifications

The Galaxy A15’s 4G and 5G variants pack the same specs, but they mainly differ in the chipset department. The 4G edition has the Helio G99, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB / 256 GB of storage. On the other hand, the 5G version has the Dimensity 6100 Plus chip, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage.

Both phones have a 6.5-inch S-AMOLED Infinity-U notch display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of brightness. Both feature a 13-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel + 5-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera system.

The Galaxy A25 5G has a 6.5-inch S-AMOLED Infinity-U notch display that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,000 nits of brightness. The Exynos 1280-powered device ships with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

For selfies, the Galaxy A25 has a 13-megapixel front camera. Its rear panel has a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Galaxy A25 and Galaxy A15 (4G and 5G versions) are backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. For security, these devices are equipped with a side-facing fingerprint sensor. Both models run on One UI 6.0-based Android 14. The A25 has dual speakers, while the A15 variants have a single speaker.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G has been spotted on Walmart’s online store, revealing its price, specs, and design. The phone is expected to be officially launched soon.

The Galaxy A15 5G’s design is similar to the Galaxy A14 5G, with a relatively wide chin and a notch. The phone comes in a dark blue color and has a flattened frame with a bulge on the right-hand side that houses the lock button and volume rocker.

The listing also confirms a MediaTek chip with a boost clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. This is likely the rumored MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, which combines two Cortex A76 performance cores at 2.2 GHz with six Cortex A55 efficiency cores.

The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor, along with two other cameras whose specifications are currently unknown. As rumored, one of them is likely a 5MP ultrawide and another is a 2MP macro or depth sensor. For selfies, it will have a 13MP sensor. 

Additionally, the Galaxy A15 5G will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging.

As for the price, the 4/128GB of Galaxy A15 5G is priced at $139 at Walmart. While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the launch date, the phone’s appearance on e-commerce listings suggests an imminent release.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the Galaxy A15 5G (SM-A156B) is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset. The 6100+ yields similar performance as the Helio G99 but adds 5G connectivity on top. The model also comes with 4GB RAM and runs Android 14 which is overlaid with One UI 6.
