A major high-end smartwatch manufacturer – Kospet is working on the Prime 2 smartwatch since past few months. There are already multiple leaks regarding the specifications and other details of Kospet Prime 2. According to the latest leak, the smartwatch is expected to feature a rotatable Sony IMX214 camera.

The rotatable camera helps to make video calls better with the ability to change the angle. It is a creative idea in order to bring more usefulness and further aids in free-form camera movement. The new feature will actually help users to capture better photos than any other smartwatch.

Kospet Prime 2 expected specifications

According to previous rumours, the Kospet Prime 2 is expected to feature Helio P22 chipset coupled with an octa-core processor. Reportedly, it will carry double the RAM and storage than that of Apple Watch i.e a 4/6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The abundant RAM will be helpful in multitasking and storage will enable you to store all the files.

It will run on Android OS enabling users to install all the Android apps from the Play Store.

Helio P22 SoC

Helio P22 is a powerful processor that is built on a 12nm FinFET process to provide flawless performance and efficiency. It is a perfect companion for smartwatches as it ensures a long battery life. We expect the smartwatch to feature dual cameras as the chipset supports 13+8 MP dual-camera system. The EIS and RSC – Rolling Shutter Compensation are some advanced features which increase its camera capabilities.

Connectivity

We speculate the Kospet Prime 2 to feature support for GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo navigation system. In connectivity, the smartwatch can come with Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi support Moreover, there will be 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage.

Kospet Prime 2 is expected to feature fully round dial along with much-needed improvements. As per the images leaked until now, we can see the round buttons on the Prime 2 which are different from cylindrical shaped buttons on Kospet Prime 2. The rotatable camera is another big change in Kospet Prime 2 as it can be helpful in capturing memorable moments and do video calling at better angles.

Some previous rumours state that the new smartwatch could feature 5G network support. But, the slated presence of MediaTek Helio P22 on the smartwatch dismantles all these rumours.

The upcoming flagship smartwatch – Kospet Prime 2 is expected to launch by mid-August. After the development of over a few months, the final product is just a few weeks away. Take the above specifications as a pinch of salt in the ocean until nothing gets confirmed officially. We have to wait for some more days before speculating any other specification or design detail of the device.

Kospet Prime

Kospet launched Prime smartwatch last year featuring some splendid features, and the latest iteration will be a step ahead. Kospet Prime features a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage along with a 1.6-inch IPS display. The smartwatch houses a dual 2-megapixel front and an 8.0-megapixel side camera.

Kospet Prime carries  1260 mAh battery which can last up to several days. It runs on Android 7.1 OS featuring all the luxuries. It can be easily paired with iOS 9.0 and Android 5.1 and above devices. Kopset Prime 2 features some high-anticipated features which are generally not present on smartwatches. Few of those features are Face ID unlockings, 3GBR AM, and 1260 mAH battery.

The Maze Blade is the second device from newcomer Maze. Their first device is the Maze Alpha, a bezel-less phone set to take on Xiaomi’s Mi MIX. The Maze Blade is being marketed as the budget-killer and from the images looks to be set on that path.

A first look at the Maze Blade and it reminds you of another device, the Sony Xperia Z5. From the 7H glass back to the circular physical power button on the right side of the anodized aluminium frame, to the huge front bezels, its more than a striking resemblance.

Where it differs from Sony’s phone is in the position of the fingerprint scanner which sits in front. Another difference is in the outlay of the rear camera setup and the use of capacitive buttons. Fans of the Xperia Z5’s design will definitely like the Maze Blade.

The Maze Blade is not just a good-looking device. It also packs some interesting specs. There is  3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and the screen is a 5.5-inches FHD display. The rear camera on is a 13MP Sony IMX 214 sensor with OIS and EIS. Now that is something you don’t see in a budget device.  Up front sits an 8MP Sony IMX 179 84° wide-angle camera.

The Maze Blade is powered by a MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz which draws power from a 3000mAh battery. There is Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on it and support for dual SIMs and a memory card.

The phone measures 158.5 x 77 x 8 mm and weighs 190g. It is available in gold, silver, and black and will go on sale early this month on different online platforms. There is no price yet but we expect the Maze Blade will not only be killing the other budget phones with its looks but also its price.

Elephone have been working on a multitude of handsets recently, they have a new flagship the Vowney coming soon in 3 different flavours to match users budgets, but they also have also been working hard on their new Metal Design phones series.

The first of the Metal Design series phones the Elephone M2 is set to be released soon and Elephone have provided full specifications as well as images of the finalised handsets.

First up the specs for the Elephone M2, a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor is powering the phone along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, the inclusion of 32GB rom will come in handy as the phone does not appear to offer micro SD expansion.

The screen is said to be an LG 5.5″ 1920 x 1080p (400ppi) display, if true then this should provide brighter more vivid colours as well as improved daylight viewing when compared to previous Elephone handsets such as the P7000 something to note in the pictures id the use of 2.5D front glass, looking very closely black boarders can still be seen but they are much thinner than on previous phones and are to a degree optically lost when looking through the curvature of the glass screen sides.

Whilst not a true bezelless design it certainly looks a lot better than previous models, that lets not forget came under a fair amount of criticism for their black boarders.

The front of the phone houses the capacitive navigation keys, as well as the home button mounted finger print scanner which has unlock times of a claimed 0.5 seconds.

As mentioned before Elephone have worked hard on the styling of the phone by slimming the bezels and adding the 2.5D glass, where they have also changed from their previous designs is the slim unibody metal design which accounts for 85% of the body and leaves the phone just 7.35mm thick, the use of the unibody on the Elephone M2 should avoid any bendgate issues.

The rear of the Elephone M2 is completely metal, except for the black bar at the top that houses the 13mp camera and flash.

Elephone have chosen to stick with the 13mp Sony IMX214 rear camera (as previously used in the P7000) and will use an 8mp front facing unit (make as yet unknown) hopefully Elephone will have had time to tweak the cameras software to maximise the capture quality.

An area that has seen Elephone criticised recently is their phones operating systems, if you head over to the forums you can keep up to date with rom releases and bug fixes, hopefully this time around more time has been spent getting everything working as it should straight out of the box, its not that Elephone don’t get things fixed, its just that a lot of people feel that phones should not be released without finding and stamping out all but the most minor of problems.

So what do you think of the new Elephone M2? from a design standpoint its not a bad looking device, at just 7.35mm thick it should be easy to hold and fit in your pocket and the addition of 32GB Rom should be more than enough for most users.

Today, the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi 4 was launched in Beijing. Here’s a review of Xiaomi’s latest phone.

Boasting top-knotch specs, the Mi 4 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801(MSM8974AC) quad-core processor with a main frequency of 2.5GHz. It has 3GB RAM and 16/64GB internal memory space. It also sports a 5-inch 1080p Sharp and JDI display screen made using OGS architecture and an 8mp/13mp Sony dual-camera. It is powered by a 3080mAh battery that can be fully charged in 2.5 hours. The 16GB edition will be sold for 1999 RMB (322.21 USD) while the 64GB edition will be sold for 2499 RMB (402.81 USD).

Appearance

The Mi 4 supports wet finger recognition and offers a glove mode. It also supports technology that can make sure finger movements on the edge won’t be mistakenly read by the phone.

It’s also important to note that the Mi 4 has a width of 67.5mm which is smaller than the Huawei P7, Samsung S4, and HTC M8.

The MIUI OS

The Mi 4 does not have a lot of new features as it is still using the MIUI V5. The new MIUI V6 OS will be introduced around August. As a result, its OS user experience is similar to that of the Mi 3 with a few changes.

Performance test

At the launch event, Lei Jun was unwilling to talk about how the Mi 4 fared in its benchmark tests. Here’s an evaluation of the phone’s performance.

Actually, the Mi 4 scored pretty high in the Antutu benchmark test with 43607 points. Very few phones are able to score this high. This still does not say anything about actual user experience, but we can say that the Mi 4 probably has the most powerful specs out of all the cell phones out right now.

Camera

The Mi 4 sports a 13mp Sony IMX214 camera which has appeared in many new Chinese phones, so it should not be surprising if the Mi 4 has it. It has 6p lens with a F1.8 aperture. Even more interesting is that it comes with a smart flashlight feature. The Mi 4 can also combine two photos that were quickly taken consecutively in a way that can make them look more realistic.

As you can see from the samples above, the Xiaomi Mi 4 takes very good photos thanks to the Sony IMX214. Furthermore, the phone’s camera benefits from its big F1.8 aperture as the amount of light going in increases a lot. Since we have now familiarized ourselves with this new sensor, it is no surprise that the Xiaomi 4 can take high-quality photos.

Conclusion:

It’s pretty clear that Xiaomi is serious in dispelling the notion that the company does not really care about the outer design of their phones with the release of the Mi 4. Even though the outer design of the Mi 4 is not as pretty as phones that are known to have beautiful designs, this is Xiaomi’s most good-looking phone to date. Its specs are also nothing to make fun of. It’s easy to see how much effort Xiaomi has put on their newest phone’s hardware and appearance. However, Xiaomi’s main competitive strength still lies in their MIUI system. When the Mi 4’s OS is upgraded to the MIUI V6, then it will be a force to be reckoned with.

As earlier reports predicted, today at 12:00 PM, the pitch-black 64 GB edition of the Oneplus One was once again put on sale, this time at the cost of 2299.99 RMB.

OnePlus had previously released a white babyskin edition among others, and said that they have enough of the pitch-black version on stock for everyone that wants it. However, they did not state an exact number.

The OnePlus One sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display screen and uses the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. It has 3GB RAM and 5mp/13mp camera (Sony IMX214 second generation stackable sensor), and supports 802.11 b/g/n/ac as well as 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-frequency Wi-Fi, and Blu Ray 4.0. It has a built-in 3100mAh battery and its operating system is the Android 4.3-based Color OS.
