Vivo today unveiled its latest flagship-tier device, the X200s, in China. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s freshly unveiled Dimensity 9400 Plus chip and offers a spec sheet that ticks the boxes for a flagship phone in 2025.

Vivo X200s Overview

The front of the X200s is a 6.67-inch flat OLED panel sourced from BOE (Q10 substrate). It’s a 1.5K screen (2800 x 1260) which refreshes at 120Hz, has 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The panel remains flat with minimal bezels all around. 

Internally, the X200s is one of the first phones to ship with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 Plus. It’s an overclocked version of the regular Dimensity 9400 with 20% improvement in Agentic AI performance. This is paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, and available in up to 16GB RAM and 1TB configurations. 

As for the battery, it comes with a 6,200mAh cell supported by 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. Vivo is still using its dual-cell charging architecture here, like the other X200 series phones. 

The camera setup is also familiar here. On the back, there’s a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor with OIS and Vivo’s in-house VCS 2.0 color system. That’s joined by a 50MP ultrawide (Samsung JN1) and a 50MP periscope telephoto (IMX882) offering 3x optical zoom and OIS. The front camera is a 32MP unit (Samsung S5KKD1), which is standard fare for Vivo’s upper-end lineup.

Out of the box, the X200s runs Android 15 with OriginOS 5 layered on top. The fingerprint sensor is ultrasonic and embedded under the display, while other extras include laser autofocus, a flicker sensor for camera stability, dual speakers, and IP68/IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

Connectivity is about as complete as it gets. The phone includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster, and an x-axis linear motor for haptics. Vivo is also touting its “kilometer-level network-free communication” for X200s. It’s a network-free innovation that allows users to connect over several kilometers without relying on the mobile network, though that’s likely to be a China-specific feature.

As for the dimensions, the X200s measures 160.1 x 74.29 x 7.99mm and weighs either 203g or 205g, depending on color. Speaking of which, Vivo is offering the phone in four options: Light Purple, Mint, White, and Black.

After the Oppo Find X8s and X8 Plus, which are set to launch today in China, the Vivo X200s is set to be the next smartphone to feature the Dimensity 9400+. Today, the brand confirmed the above poster to confirm that the X200s will pack a massive 6,200mAh battery.

Despite the large battery, the phone maintains a slim 7.99mm profile thanks to third-generation silicon-carbon negative electrode battery tech. Apart from 90W wired charging, the X200s will also support 40W wireless charging—rare among flat-screen flagships in its class. In comparison, the X200 packed a 5,700mAh battery. While it supports 90W charging, it lacks wireless charging.

Vivo previously confirmed that the X200s will feature a 6.67-inch BOE Q10 flat panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort. Vivo also introduces a new single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works with wet fingers and has been ergonomically repositioned for ease of access.

One of the major highlights of the Vivo X200s is its deep iOS-style ecosystem integration. The device will be able to mirror iPhone notifications, enable app continuity across Vivo and Apple devices, and support fast file transfers with just a tap.

Vivo today confirmed that it will launch the X200s and X200 Ultra in China in April. The X200 Ultra is the only model in the lineup to get Snapdragon 8 Elite treatment. Meanwhile, the X200s will stick with MediaTek, just like its siblings.

Vivo has confirmed that its upcoming smartphones, the X200s and X200 Ultra, will launch in China on April 21. The company initially teased the devices in late March, and it has now revealed new details, including the first official look at the Ultra model’s rear design.

Vivo X200 Ultra

The official teaser reveals the X200 Ultra in a clean white finish with vertical stripes running down the back. But it’ll also come in at least one other variant. A red version that’s already surfaced in leaked images on Weibo. This model swaps out the textured stripes for a smoother, leather-like finish.

Both versions show off a large, raised camera bump that extends prominently from the chassis. The phone itself also seems relatively thick, likely due to its substantial hardware.

According to the details shared (and leaked), the X200 Ultra will feature a rear triple-camera setup: two 50MP 1/1.28″ LYT818 sensors (one standard, one 35mm), and a 200MP 1/1.4″ HP9X periscope unit with an 85mm focal length. 

Vivo claims these sensors are equipped with OIS across all focal lengths and support 4K video at 120fps. The camera system also includes Zeiss co-engineered optics, a VS1 and V3+ chip setup, and a new tone filter. 

The phone is expected to feature a 6.82-inch quad-curved BOE LTPO display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath, the phone will have a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip along with a battery exceeding 6000mAh, with support for 90W wired and wireless charging. 

Other features will include IP68/69 water resistance, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and support for China’s Beidou-3 short message service on top-tier configurations.

Vivo X200s

Meanwhile, the more affordable X200s will feature a flatter design and a smaller 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS screen. It will be offered in pink, blue, black, and white shades with a glossy finish on the back.

The rear camera system is expected to include an IMX921 primary sensor, a JN1 ultra-wide, and a 3x periscope macro telephoto lens (LTY-600). It will also carry a battery of over 6000mAh with support for 90W fast charging. But will swap the 8 Elite for MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chip.

The D9400+ is said to retain the D9400’s architecture, comprising one Cortex-X925 ultra-core, three Cortex-X4 performance cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. In the comments, the tipster clarified that there won’t be an X200s Pro this year. That leaves room for other Vivo phones, potentially under its sub-brand iQOO, which is expected to launch the Neo 10s Pro+ with the same chipset.

The leaker did not share any information about the Vivo Watch 4. This watch will be the successor to the Watch 3, which was announced in November 2023. As for the X300 Ultra, it may launch in the first half of 2026.

The above leak suggests that the launch of the Vivo X200 Pro Mini was a test to gauge market response for a mini phone with a 6.31-inch screen. DCS has boldly speculated that the X300 will feature a similar-sized screen instead of the 6.6-inch display seen on the X200. While none of these has confirmed its design, it will likely follow a similar design philosophy as the other three X200 series models. So the rear will likely have a large circular camera module surrounded by a glass panel and metallic frame.

The Dimensity 9400 Plus, which is expected to launch after a couple of months, will most likely be an overclocked version of the existing D9400 chip. The other specs of the phone are likely to remain the same as the X200.

While he has not specified the name of the device, it appears that he could be talking about the Vivo X200s.
